Hi All. I have a question regarding screen on time. What do most of you get? I've got a year old S7 and while Indonrun BT all day connected to my S2 I only get 2-2.5 hours of screen on time. Seems like I should be getting more. Right now I'm running 930U firmware but even on 930T I was getting about the same. Could I have a bad battery?

My Nexus S isn't doing this (that I've noticed), but my Nexus One started doing it recently, even when set to network time (on T-Mobile).
I'm curious if your NS keeps time accurately when not set to network time. What cell provider do you use?
NS timing
Hi
Thanks for your reply, well, i actually bought 2 NS, one of them is not giving this problem, and the one am using does. it changes time iether set to network timing or not. , both phones have exactly the same setup, but only mine does have this issue (its 2 weeks now).
Hey all here is a look at some of the problems with the Galaxy S6 including the one I keep getting Wifi sleeping and never waking back up overnight. Anyone else got this?

Interesting couple of questions then, are you connected to a 2G or 5G access point when it happens? How long would you say the device is sat on standby for before you notice the issue.
Mine is 5G and around 3 hours without touching the device seems to generate the problem, but not every time.

Unknown if 2g or 5g and I've had it happen within an hour of not touching the phone. Sometimes it's ok after 2 hours + on standby... very weird!
If you want I can pay more attention and come back to you with more info.
Hello!
I have an S5 (Verizon) with a custom ROM. Great phone and I'm very pleased with it. However, with the Note 5 announcement around the corner, I've started feeling that upgrade itch.
However, I'm seeing that battery life is dismal on the S6 unless you're able to get a non-OF1 (I think that's the one) phone so that you can change out the rom.
My uses are: Camera, Internet, texting and... yeah. That's about it. Reading articles and RSS feeds and browsing the Internet for various things. I don't often make or receive phone calls but I do occasionally. And I very, very rarely play games on it.
Should I just stick with my S5 until the S7 or whatever comes out? Or, should I just go for an upgrade? With the minimal amount of calling I do, should I go for the Note 5 when it comes out so I have a larger screen or should the S6 work as well?
Thank you for any advice!
Today was my first day using my new S6. I got the 128gb via the Verizon website and it came with OC3 on it, so it still can be rooted (haven't done it yet tho). The battery does drain, yes, but I have a new Mophie case and with that it EASILY got me thru the day today and I use my phone constantly for work, outside in the sun with full brightness on and I also tether to my laptop. The phone really does FLY though.....little to zero lag when opening/using/installing/uninstalling/switching between apps, etc. Very very fast. Camera launch and capture quite quick also.
My biggest complaint so far is the cell reception. :crying: I am getting weaker LTE reception in places that I am DEFINITE have had historically great 4G LTE reception. My rooted S3's reception was MUCH better than this. If I can find a fix for this poor reception than I am most likely going to keep it. If not, I may swap for a G4.
Just picked up a standard Gear S2 and updated the firmware. However, it's constantly disconnecting and reconnecting to my Galaxy S7 edge. Bluetooth stays connected for all my other devices. Any tips?

I'm having the same issue with my S2 Classic, but I've got a SGS7. Both are running stock software/firmware. My issue started a couple days ago, so I'm thinking an update was applied to something that introduced this issue. I am hopeful it will be fixed in a future update (sooner than later).

How often is yours disconnecting? Mine was every few minutes. Today it's been flawless. Weird.

I have the same problem and it is very annoying, bluetooth keeps disconnecting from my car, specially during calls and then tries to reconnect again. This never happened to me before in any smartphone so this is a specific problem from the S7. I tried clean cache etc. but the problem continues. Sometimes the call can go 15 minutes without disconnecting, other times it disconnects 2 times in 5 minutes, but it happens everyday twice at least. This is a very strange problem, can't find any solution. It is driving me nuts specially in a 700 euros phone!!
not only on S7
It's the same here with a Gear S2 Classic and a Huawei P8max. A few minutes after being connected (manually) the Gear disconnects.
I just switched over from my S7 edge to a Moto Maxx I had in a drawer - no disconnects today. Gonna swap out my S7 Edge for a replacement I guess.
Replacement didn't disconnect until I switched on high accuracy GPS. When I switch GPS over to power saving, the disconnects stop (so far).
Anyone else noticed a correlation with high accuracy GPS being turned on and frequent Bluetooth disconnects?
After working with three different S7's (2 edge's and one regular) as well as a Droid Maxx, I found that the phones would regularly disconnect when I had High Accuracy GPS set to on (with disconnects occurring multiple times per hour). If I switched the phones to power-saving GPS, disconnects would never occur.
Not sure why this would be but I don't recall it happening before the latest S2 update. I have always used High Accuracy GPS because I use the Tile app which requires it....HOWEVER, the disconnects were SO irritating, I guess I'd rather lose my keys and/or wallet because I turned the GPS to power saving to eliminate the disconnects because it was SOOOOO annoying.
PROBLEM FIXED -Bluetooth on gears2 /note 5 keeps disconnecting
Hi guys,i'm new to this forum. Came across it a few days ago when i needed assistance. I have been wearing my gear s2 classic and note 5 for approx. a year now . As of last week it kept disconnecting and connecting every five minutes which became really frustrating. I was missing important calls and message as my phone is on silent and gear on vibrate mode. After trying numerous attempts of clearing the Bluetooth cache and even hard reset watch and phone twice . It still did the same. I contacted my buddy over at Samsung headquaters is South africa to confirm my warranty date on my note 5. Thats how far i was heading, to return the headset for a new one. Luckily my warranty expires in October 2017. He then advised me the following
1) Check gear software updated - My gear was updated.
2)Check phone software updated- My phone was not updated.
So i got down to doing the update, size was around 1.4 GB
A fast WiFi connection will take approx. 15 minutes.
Had this done 2 days ago
Problem solved :good:
Phone looks and feel way better with the updated software and Gear has not disconnected since then.
Hope this helps.

I'm starting to suspect it's a problem with my S7 Edge. I had the Gear S2 connected to a Nexus 6P for a couple months and never encountered connection problems. It's only since I switched to the S7 that I started getting the sporadic disconnects. I've tried changing my GPS settings but there doesn't appear to be a low power mode on the S7 edge with 6.0.1 stock so I just kicked down to the basic GPS only and turned off wi-fi and bluetooth location.
Not impressed so far.
also happens on S8+, but not on Note4
This is happening on my S8+ also.
It also doesn't work properly with my car radio and microphone (I can receive calls well enough, but issuing voice commands is a nightmare).
I had the Gear S2 and car radio connected to my Note4 before. They worked perfectly.
I will try lowering the Location accuracy. In any case, looking forward to upgrading to Note8 in a few months when my S8+ contract ends.
Hello community,
I have got an A9 for almost a year now. This begun a few months after buying it (meaning it was not like that from the beginning).
The phone is 100% stock (no root, no unlocked bootloader, no nothing).
The problem is this: When the phone is in a low coverage area (2 bars or less) and I am talking on the phone or using mobile data or even leaving it in my pocket with the mobile data setting turned on (and it is not connected to any wifi network), the phone becomes blazing hot (more than 50 Celsius) and drains the battery within 1 hour max. On the other hand, if mobile data is turned off, or the phone is connected to a wifi, or the mobile signal is full or close to full everything is fine.
I tried factory resetting, I even got the nougat upgrade a couple of days ago and I even tried using it in safe mode, the problem just persists. My only personal conclusion is a hardware malfunction which I truly hope it's not.
If anyone can be of help, it will be much much appreciated.
Hate to say it but every Android phone I've owned does that. It's because its constantly trying to find a signal. You are better just to turn off data in those areas. Unless you need it.

Thanks for the reply Jason. But if you noticed it wasn't doing it from the beginning of its life. I mean having the phone in my pocket and warming my leg... That's just too much. Especially now that summer is coming its going to be huge trouble
