hi i'm still running an M8 but the U11 looks like finally the phone that will trigger me to upgrade. I'm confused about how the US versions will be getting 4GB RAM 64GB storage, while the international versions will get 6GB RAM 128GB storage.
Anyone know if it's possible to get the international version to work on US Carrier? I'm on AT&T.
Thanks

Wrong information mate. All countries will get the same 4GB RAM/64GB internal configuration. Only difference are Taiwan and China were HTC will ship an 6GB RAM/128GB internal version as well. If your not running dual SIM the 64GB variant would suffice I think. But if you really want the larger storage you'd have to import it. Don't know if all US bands are present on this asian versions and if it'll run on AT&T though.

Gotcha. Well thanks for the info. I won't need dual SIM and use an SD card so I was really just interested in getting 25% more RAM if it wasn't hard to get an international version.

Not necessary to have those extra juice. Didn't make a lot in terms of performance on such a phone. Especially as long as it is driven by such an SoC and very well done software optimization.

should be fine with sd835 and 4 gb
Watch out for the dual sim variants. They don't have all the US bands.
I was kinda bummed about this too, but at least we have an SD card slot and HTC doesn't bloat the hell out of their phones with crap like "Touchwiz" so I think it wouldn't make much difference.

Wait, but there's five MIDs, two of which are dual-SIM. So how can "all countries be getting the same 4/64 config"?

Yeah I know bit MID isn't directly tied to storage options. And as far as I know EMEA and US and others are getting 4GB/64GB, while Aisa is the only region getting 6GB/128GB.

Right, I just wanted to make sure that by "the same 4/64 config" you didn't mean all 4/64 devices have the same MID )
Also, @hamdir reported ME is getting 6/128.

You'd have to import one from China / Taiwan / Europe / Middle East or buy a gray market device on Ebay, etc.

My current dilemma is trying to decide which version to go with. Sony international devices have more support and in general get updates before carrier versions. The only reason the Tmobile version is an option is the 32GB of storage. I play a lot of games and right now I have to juggle with adb backup as quite a few are above 1GB ( Baldur's Gate is 3GB+ by its lonesome). That said, I could titanium backup a game to the sdcard on the go, but that would be a potential PITA.
Anyone make a similar decision with the Z1s and have regretted it or vice versa?
I'm definitely getting the unlocked version. I'll just buy a high quality 64/128 GB micro sd card.

Are you sure that T Mobile will only have black? The Z came in black, white, and purple...
Yes, T-Mobile Z3 is only in the black , you can go and check the Z3 white paper and it's only in black and 32 Gb
There is a different also about it and that is this version of phone support band 12 and that is the new frequency that T-Mobile bought from Verizon ( 750mhz ), I'm sure about the coverage of it, but that would be a big deal cause T-Mobile is really advertise on that specific band for end of this year to increase the LTE ...
So if anybody else has any information regard of this let us know.
The "bloatware" on the T-Mobile version should not be considered an issue. The 32GB of internal storage makes up for that, and T-Mobile "bloatware" is more function than anything else.
If you want WiFi calling, the best LTE performance, 32GB internal storage, etc on T-Mobile, buy the T-Mobile version (D6616).
The only con in my eyes to buying the T-Mobile version is lack of color options. Oh well, I'll get over it and be happy with the black.
Damn. I was looking forward to a green one.
I think the biggest con on the Tmo version is the carrier update cycle. Typically you're months behind on Android updates compared to OEMs.
Locked bootloaders are another big negative as it's useful for development.
That's any carrier, now the bootloader is what I'm waiting to hear about.
Ulockable bootloader = no buy. At least for me.
International vs. T-Mobile: FREQUENCY BANDS

This is important: aside from whether boot loader will be locked or not, or whether getting 16 or 32 GB internal storage is a big or not, WHAT ABOUT THE FREQUENCY BANDS?
I assume that most people looking to get the T-Mobile model D6616 have T-Mobile as their carrier, and would prefer to have the proper frequency bands supported for LTE.
Can anybody elucidate what the implications are for a T-Mobile user getting: 1) the international unlocked version, or 2) the T-Mobile version?

This is what I wanna know, I really want the green color, and my thought is that I'll get the international because I don't mind the lack of 32gb. The international has every frequency the US one does except band 12 and my current GS4 doesn't have that anyway. I don't feel like I'd miss it. I'm not sure what it does anyway or if it would even affect me in MN/WI.
I would like to keep Wi-Fi calling though, and I'm assuming it would be possible to install the T-Mobile ROM on the international model. Is this right?

So you guys are saying that there is not a "Sony" version for the US for the Z3 as it is for the Z2? I mean, you can buy the Z2 on Sony web or retailers, and it is pretty much the international version but works great in the US... So, are you saying that only a T-Mobile (and yes maybe Verizon, Sprint, etc, etc) will be available in the US and not just the "Sony" version?

If you're in the US you need the H950...it has all the primary T-Mobile+AT&T bands. If you're in some other place, probably another variant.
Also H950 has 32GB storage over 16GB on one of the international/Korean ones. Remember microSD cards are slower than internal storage...

Hi all,
Anyone know of a reliable retailer that ship to Europe that sells a grey model with black front and 64gb storage?
If I have 64gb internal storage I would be able to use dual sim rather than filling the second slot with sdcard. But this model is unavailable in Europe as far as I can tell.
Thank you for your help!
The second slot is only 2G
AS per my knowledge, that model will be available only in China. It wont be released anywhere.

I don't think 64gb variant will be released. However if the bands in your country matches with the supported band by that variant, you can buy it.
Also remember that the devs for this variant will be available only in Chinese forums.

I actually agree with this, and it even appears that the Exynos may have a couple of advantages over the Snapdragon - support for dual-SIM 5G and (supposedly) faster updates. That said, I am importing the Snapdragon HK SM-N9860 because I planned to import a dual-SIM model anyway (we only get single-SIM 128GB as the base model in Canada), and it has the Snapdragon, 256GB and Samsung Pay.
If I were in a country that had the 256GB Exynos dual-SIM, I would not hesitate to get that over importing the Snapdragon model, not least for the warranty coverage and access to Samsung service and support...
I ordered the 256gb, 12gb ram exynos and rooted it. Very happy than sd Canadian ones locked down lol
