Unstuck adhesive under screen? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

I've had my phone for a few days now and noticed a clicking sound every time that I remove it from my case. After some investigation it seems to be due to something internally with an adhesive surface that isn't staying stuck. If I press moderately hard on the center of the left edge I can reproduce the click, and it feels like it gets "unstuck" after a few seconds. Does anyone else have this issue?

Same issue here

So far it just seems to be a minor annoyance. I can forgive it because this display is so much better than the previous Galaxy S phones that I've had. Almost all of them had grey blotches on the screen when viewed in full sunlight. No such problem on this phone.

Problems with TP Screen

Hi guys,
About 3 weeks ago I noticed that in certain light, I could see a grid of dots, starting from 5mm from each side of the screen. These dots were arranged in some a regular pattern, so I assummed it was screen sensors, that I had not see before.
However last week, I noticed this same area was now becoming strangely colored. Its difficult to explain, but viewing the screen at an angle or in certain light, that area of the screen looks like the screens plama is leaking. Its similar to if you put a drop of clear oil between the screen protector and the screen itself. This is definatly occuring on the internal part of the screen. So im going to call up HTC this week, and if they request me to send it back, do I need to un-hard-spl the phone? If so how do I do this?
Thanks
I had similar issue with my old Himalaya in the past. It seems like an oil spot between surfaces under specific angle. Now I have another problem with screen on my Rafi-Some blue 'clouds' visible all the time after accident with my car(I lost my phone with case on the parking place and someone-maybe me also drove very closely around it,so the device is just a little bit damaged, but not so much).
I have same problem on my Touch Pro, but my seller say to me this fabrication problem...not important problem...but its very distrubity

I faced this problem in Touch dual before, and the screen was replaced in warranty.
now i've the same in my TP, but this time it clearly decreased the touch screen sensitivity...
i'd say go for replacement.
I encountered the newton's ring problem-term given to me by a HTC staff. I got the handset from O2 but they seemed clueless about this. The problem is that it disappears and then re-appears randomly. Third time I have seen it. I have also encountered the 'oil spill' effect under specific lighting. I can't see it anymore though.
Will drop into an O2 shop asap.

my Fuze has this oil spill effect too.. going to try to put it in a bag of desiccant overnight to see if its just moisture

Screen corruption issues when applying pressure on bezel?

Has anyone else noticed any screen corruption/artifacts occasionally when grabbing/applying pressure on the bezel? It's cyan in color which is kind of amusing because I'm running CM10 but it's kind of annoying to see this kind of problem considering I've had the tablet for about a month. The surest way to reproduce it is to hold opposite corners and kind of gently twist the tablet. I realize that's not exactly common behavior but it does happen occasionally when I'm just holding it. An unfortunate flaw on an otherwise awesome tablet IMO.
Not at all.

Now, after one month of pretty heavy everyday use and some trips (and some drops without producing scratches or chippings) with the Note sometimes some slight sounds (not exactly creaking, more like a faint squeezing sound) occur when I press the upper left corner above the loudspeaker and when I strongly press the silver frame horizontally left and right on the right side.
This might be due to the fact that on the go I hold the tablet sometimes only on the right upper corner.
But no changes on the screen occur even when I forcely try to bend the Note, nor any funny inputs by the digitizer.
Feels rock solid so far .......................

Issues with my Galaxy S6 Edge

Hello,
I've had my gold 64GB S6 Edge for a couple of weeks and whilst I love the phone, there a couple of things that are bugging me, and I'm wondering whether they warrant requesting a replacement.
Firstly, the right half of the earpiece seems to have a lot of hairline scratches, and also seems less polished and 'shiny' than the left side. Whilst hairline scratches normally wouldn't bother me as they mostly aren't visible, in certain lighting it becomes very noticeabld due to how many scratches there are and due to it being less polished.
Secondly, the lock button on my device seems to be a lot loosed than the volume buttons (volume down is also a bit loose whilst volume up doesn't move at all).
My third issue is the lag I'm getting when using the keyboard. Sometimes when typing fairly quickly, the keyboard will not register certain typed letters, even though i tap on them. Whilst it doesn't happen very often, I'm quite disappointed that a device this expensive is suffering with a problem like this.
Other smaller issues include the fact there seems to be a gap between the screen and the frame in the top left corner of the phone. I've seen others complaining of a similar issue, but it tends to be in the bottom right instead. Also, the sensor thing in my rear camera is quite noticeabley not centred and towards the bottom right, almost hitting the edge of the larger circle it sits between. I'm also noticing that the touch sensitivity near the bezels isn't the best. I read a while ago that the screens don't register touch at all very close to the bezels, and I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else bring it up.
Overall though I feel its a great device; however, considering its such an expensive phone, I feel that I should be more pleased with the smaller details and I'm not sure if these issues warrant requesting a replacement from Samsung. I'm also curious as to which of these issues other devices suffer from.
Sorry for the long post!
I don't know about the other issues, but the camera lens sitting towards the bottom right behind the lens protector glass is normal. I have handled about 10 Galaxy S6s from various countries (US, Germany, Italy, Trinidad) and various carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Vodaphonr) and I think only like 2 of those had a centered camera lens.

Oleophobic coating on screen issue

Hello form Poland.
So after 3 weeks of having the flat S7 found a coating failure on my phone.
In clean condition there is no mark or visible surface difference.
Just if there is fog or fingermarks the issue is visible. The problem seems to be comparable to the LG G4 problem with the coating.
Attached some pictures.
What do you think? Complaint relevant?
It looks like even my new S7 is suffering from this. When the phone is cleaned its not visible. But when its smudgy, a consistent diagnol line appears. Its not a scratch, its just there.
Edit: pics added
I have the same problem!

I have the same problem and I'm going to service center
did you come there? what did they tell you? what did they do with phone? how did they fix it?
I have the same issue on my S7 edge.
I have the exact same issue around the speakergrill. When I clean it it's not visible but once you touch it and leave fingerprints you can clearly see it. Not sure if there are other areas on my screen with the same problem as it has a protector but hope that it will be covered by warranty if needed.

I also have that issue around the speakergrill. I noticed it after a call, so I thought it must be because I put it against my ear. After a day or two, I noticed it again. Tried to clean it with water, and as soon as I touched it, it returned. It isn't much of an issue, since it isn't anywhere near the screen, but it is a bit annoying.
Did you eventually return your phone?
thats why I bought a Silver color S7 edge, and bought a screen protector...
I have the issue on the s7 around the speaker grill and in the gap between home and display... had the issue on s6 too (around the speaker grill)..

I've got the same problem on my phone. Annoyingly, the day I got the phone I kept the screen protector on but about 1/3 of it lifted off. I short while later I took it off and then waited till the next day till a screen protector arrived.
Fast forward 3 weeks later and I took the screen protector off and now notice the the wear mark, fine when it is clean but visible when smudged. Just niggles at me more than anything. Am considering sending it back for exchange or something.
Did anyone manage to do this successfully? Or did they just say something like wear and tear?
old thread but I have the same issue too, clean it, it looks perfect, the second i touch it and it leaves a fingerprint, looks like a nice long scratch right above my home button on the screen
Just wanted to say i have the same problem around the speaker grill, for now its not too big. Do you think it can get bigger ?
Same problem on my S8. Didn't notice it until day 27 and the folks at samsung are being a complete bear to deal with.

Strangest screen problem I've ever seen. Would this be a broken displayor broken GPU?

Hi all
My moto Maxx has gone through a lot, but the strangest problem yet started yesterday.
As you can see on the attached video, half of the screen is constantly scrolling. This happens in fastboot and recovery mode as well, so I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem.
The digitizer still works perfectly, and registers touch where the icon or button should be positioned on the screen. The moving screen also does show everything correctly, just in this crazy scrolling way.
I'm not very hopeful in fixing it, but was wondering if anyone has ever seen this, and if you guys think this is a broken display(and any way to test this?) or a broken GPU. If it is in fact the display, I might consider replacing it.
Some background on all the terrible things I did to this phone:
- Dropped it and cracked screen in September.
- Replaced the glass myself, slightly burned display when removing glass without any consequences (just a tiny mark on the top right, the side that actually still works).
- Dropped again, broke glass again, never bothered to fix it, some small pieces are missing so dust, sweat,.. could've gotten int.
Video:
Most likely the display being broken.
Even when my tempered glass protector is missing chunks the screen starts to funk up. Only worse being the real screen especially the digitizer.
You might be right pjd, or at least screen related.
I opened it up yesterday evening, and I think it might be the cable connecting the screen. Depending on how I positioned the screen and thus the angle at which the cable was bent, it was fixed, the same, or just completely black.
The only thing I have to try to find out now is if it's the kabel, or the connector on the motherboard. Any suggestions on how I could test that are welcome!
