Well, my z3 6653 camera won't focus anymore. I tried the drm restoration patch and actually works, restores everything except the tap to focus function.
Any advices or tutorials to fix the issue?
Thanks a lot.
Same here with d6653.
The front camera works fine though.
Haven't found a solution anywhere for it...
And seems like there isnt one.

Nexus 5 front video camera is dark!
I never posted a thread so hello, but I have a major issue with my Nexus 5. I checked on Google and I couldn't find anyone else with this problem. My front video camera is dark, it's as if the exposure settings are at like -5. That's how dark it is. I also have the camera mod downloaded (my phone's rooted). If you have any answer can you please provide it? THANKS!
Edit: I tried other apps and it's fine, I don't want to use them because most 3rd party camera apps suck. Front facing picture camera is ok too. Therefore it isn't a hardware issue.
Seems like it's the camera mod hack, from the sound of it.
Are you on a custom ROM? It may be interfering with the hack (I'm not familar with the mod.)

I actually took it off to test the actual camera. I was feeling like returning the phone, but ironically the phone fixed itself a couple minutes ago. I have no idea how, don't ask me, but it did. I'll close the thread. Thanks anyways!
Hi everybody
I upgradedmy Honor 6 + PE-TL 10 to Lollipop with the official ROM B324.
All seems to work well except the front camera. In the Camera App , if I switch from the rear to the front camera it hangs. In the mirror app nothing is shown. With the original release 4.4.2 all worked.
Any ideas or updates for the camera app?
Thank yoiu
install the google Camera and test it , if it works try a facotry reset and try with the stock camera
I tried. It seems to be dead. Really strange because I did the update on friday and until thursday all was ok!

i think its hardware issue then
So I'm not sure when it started as I don't use my camera much. However, whenever i use any application that uses the rear camera (gcam, snapchat, stock camera) the image is very blurry. Dunno if it's because it can't focus or because of something else. Anyone have any suggestions in what to do?
How does it look when you take a normal photo then? Like is should?
I had that with certain kernels, the focus is locked at x distance. I upgraded the kernel (elemental) and it solved my problem.

I might try updating the kernel or just install stock again. The focus doesn't appear to be locked anywhere.
No dust in camera lense?.
Hi guys. I was wondering if someone with a rooted device could answer me this. So, since the A8 has no live focus on rear camera, I wonder if it's possible activating it just by adding the same lines of the selfie camera on the camera-feature.xml file on the rear camera section.
Maybe Samsung could have disabled this. Since like the S8 has just one camera and got the live focus. I don't know, maybe the software really don't support it and I could be wrong.

Oh that's sad. Btw, thanks for the answer. Guess I'll have to wait till someone make an workable GCam for the Android pie.
hi everybody!
i dont recall the front camera to not zoom (pinch to zoom) before the latest March update. A colleague of mine told me, on his Nokia 5 he cant zoom in anymore with the front camera and neither can i on my N7+. Has anyone else noticed this? Is it something configurable in the settings? Thanks!
aint there anyone who can quicly try zooming with the front camera? If he has the latest update?

Maybe they blocked zoom because the camera is 4MP that create an output of 16MP through interpolation, so the zoom could mess up the process
