Literally the first thing that comes up on google:

Problem is you need a kernel that has adb / usb debugging enabled by default.
So you either need a dev to do it for you or figure a way out to do it yourself.
Otherwise there's probably no way to do it.

I bought a new Xperia z3 and compact and I tried to connect the z3 on my laptop to transfer files but it can't connect via mtp mode for some reason. I can hear the sound connecting and disconnecting but there was no response to the phone and laptop. Not even a notification on the phone. MSC mode is working fine btw. I tried all such as removing sd and sim, restarting both devices but no luck. I know it is the phone itself is the problem because my Z3 compact is working just fine. I was able to connect the compact to the pc wirelessly via LAN but to be able to do that you need to pair the device via mtp mode. Anyone have the same problem? As I check the phone physically, I think it is one of the first phones with factory defects. I can see that the top back part is not fitted to the glass. You can even see it moving closer if you press it towards each. I don't know if the hardware and software are connected, I hope not. I can't give it back to be replaced because there's no visible defects. Just hoping the next update can fix the main issue.
After plugging the device to pc go to device manager and remove xperia z3. Then scan for new hardware. Then it will download the driver for your device automatically and your device would be visible in PC.
I m doing this every time I connect my z3 with laptop.
Anyone else have any permanent and better solution?
A pop up on my pc says Driver installation failed or something like that.. But thanks to you, you remind me having the same problem with my old Xperia Play. The key is the "usb debugging mode" box should be checked. To do that, go to settings =>about=>build number.. Tap it several times until the developer options will come visible at the settings and there you go. You can now connect via mtp mode. Btw, you can hide the developer options again for some oc reasons by going to apps=>all=>settings then clear the data.
Hi all, can anyone help? I smashed my phone at the weekend and really want to get back in to it if only to turn on contacts sync and see who keeps texting me, but for some reason USB debugging isn't on. Phone is stock.
Plugging in with USB = recognised in device manager as Xperia Z3. I've tried to download Android SDK, and install the USB drivers from the Sony website (says best driver already installed - the ones from the Sony website don't have any kind of installation program so not sure what I'm supposed to do with them!).
I know this isn't easy but can anyone guide me through getting in to it and getting USB debugging on so I can use Android Control? It seems I need to get the phone in to recovery mode so that it automatically enables USB debugging? If I hold down power/volume up a few times or in a weird combination, the LED goes blue and the phone comes up in device manager as 's1boot' and then 's1boot fastboot'. I've tried installing the drivers I've found from DooMLoRD but they don't help me access the phone at all, it still says unable to find the device. adb devices from the adb folder command prompt says no devices (i presume because USB debugging still disabled). I feel like I have made progress but need a bit more progress still to get in, if it is at all possible!
New thread because I can't find anyone with a Sony Xperia Z3 trying this, with the same steps taken/blue LED etc.
USB OTG+ USB mouse
Try to use USB OTG+USB mouse, that did the trick for me
no display whatsoever... so having a mouse isn't going to help me sadly! unless i can get the screen displayed on a computer monitor or something?
I have searched on how to enable usb debugging in the forums for a broken screen but most if not all of them are for other devices and require flashing a custom rom (although i have no idea how to do that CWM? Odin????). Is it possible to enable us debugging for a sony Z2 Device under these conditions?
1. Broken Screen (touch screen irresponsive)
2. Stock Rom, No recovery menu (tried power on and volume button and also tried flashtool with volume button hold and only black screen came out but i have no idea what i am doing actually)
3. NO usb debugging.
Another method i actually seen other people using is to use an usb mouse to connect to the phone. Will the phone automatically register the mouse or must there be some 3rd party enabled on it (which in this case seems useless already)
Any help will be deeply appreciated and thank you for your help in advance. Repairing will cost quite alot of money (enough to get a new decent phone) so i wanted to extract the data out of the phone before i get a new phone.
There is also something post by other members such as in this thread and with code. How can i enter the code into my phone..?

Sorry i am extremely noob at phone stuff but i really have no idea what is happening and i really really need help
Hi everyone,
Sadly, I broke the screen and digitizer of my beloved OP3T :crying:
The bootloader is unlocked, android is rooted and I have TWRP as recovery.
Unfortunately, usb debugging is disabled as my banking application refused to work when it was enabled.
I don't plan to replace the screen as the A3010 as poor/non-existent 4G support here in europe, I didn't know that when I bought that phone
I would like to use the phone as a media player or home automation system through a DisplayLink adapter, but I have trouble to set it up blindly.
I tried to use this tool but I wasn't able to connect to the phone.
I think I manage to enable usb debugging with adb in twrp recovery but I'm not 100% sure. It keeps saying "state: rejected", I don't know if that means that usb debugging is disabled or that I need to approve my host PC (which I can't without the digitizer working)...
Plan B was to use a DisplayLink adapter...
I installed "DisplayLink Presenter" on my OP3T through the play store but It displays nothing on the external monitor.
Maybe I need to unlock the phone first? But I can't type the pin code without a digitizer...
I'm out of idea so your help would be very welcome :good:
Regards,
Cédric
TL;DR: Is it possible to install a USB > DisplayLink adapter on a phone with broken screen and digitizer?
Hi,
my phone fall down and now the screen is black. When I hit the power button the background light flashes up, but still only a black image visable.
I need to recover some REALLY IMPORTANT data from my (internal) phone storage. The problem is: I can't access it from my Computer with usb cable because the phone it is locked with a pattern. I know the pattern, but I can't access it because of the broken screen. I tried to unlock it with the pattern in the dark, but after 2 hours I think the touch is broken, too.
I've tried already:
1. Connecting to computer:
- device shows up in Explorer as "Sony Xperia M4" storage device. but is empty (I think because it is locked)
- using PC Companion software. The software recognizes the phone but states that I have to unlock it
2. ADB / Vysor app (joyofandroid.com/unlock-android-device-with-dead-screen)
- USB Debugging is not enabled
- divese is listed in ADB as "UNAUTHORIZED"
3. Mouse / HDMI (joyofandroid.com/unlock-android-device-with-dead-screen)
- Sony Xperia M4 does NOT support USB OTG, so I can't plugin in a mouse for the pattern gesture
- Sony Xperia M4 does nnot support micro HDMI, or MHL to HDMI
4. dr.fone software
- does not support Sony Xperia M4
5. Google Remote Unlock (joyofandroid.com/unlock-android-device-with-dead-screen)
- login/password for google account unkown
6. camera unlock bug (talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/How-to-copy-files-from-a-locked-XperiaZ-with-broken-screen/td-p/366900/page/6)
- tried it, but not working on my Sony Xperia M4
Do you have any other ideas?
