Installation Instructions:
Using Partial Update file
1. Make sure you are on V6.6.1 and rooted before proceeding.
2. Download Partial update file and rename it to dlpkgfile (no extension)
3. Using Root Browser move this "dlpkgfile" in /cache/
4. Make new file in /cache/recovery/ name it command and put following code in it

5. Enable USB Debugging and from Open.cmd (the file you get while rooting fonepad you might be familiar with this) give following command

3. Your device may now give you an update notification if not try rebooting it will give.

Flashing 6.3.6 on your current 5.2.5:

Flashing Back From KitKat
I have seen people who want to know how to roll back to 5.2.5 because they are facing some issues in current build. ASUS might release a much stable build but for now you may have to roll back in order to resolve these issues. So follow this tutorial in order to roll back to 5.2.5
For this you will need
1. 5.2.2 Stock Raw Image which can be found here
2. Partial Update from 5.2.2 to 5.2.5 which can be found here
So lets start
1. Download and copy ME372CG_all_WW_user_V5.2.2.raw file to your external SD card
2. Turn Off your FonePad 7 and start Droid Boot (press and hold Volume up button and Power Button)
3. Select SD Download
4. Now your FonePad 7 will reboot and start flashing Build 5.2.2
5. After that when you are done refer to @MEHRDAD595 Rooting Thread here
6. After Rooting Download Partial Update file and rename it to dlpkgfile (make sure there is no extension)
7. Using Root Browser copy this file to /cache and make a new file in /cache/recovery named "command" (no quotes) edit it using text editor and enter following
Code:
--update_package=/cache/dlpkgfile
8. After that connect your FonePad 7 to your computer in USB Debugging Mode.
9. Using open.cmd (yes the one you used while rooting) enter following command

adb reboot recovery
10. Now your FonePad 7 will reboot and start updating. Once this is complete you will get Build 5.2.5.

Install Applications to External Storage
To do this simply follow these steps
1. Go to Settings
2. Asus Customized Settings
3. App Installation Settings
4. Preferable External Storage, Now select whether you want to install apps to "internal storage" or "external" or leave it to "auto"
Using Partial Updates (If you are stuck at 3.2.4)>>From 3.2.4 to 5.1.6
1. Root your 3.2.4
2. Download V3.2.4_To_V5.1.6_partial_update.zip and rename it to dlpkgfile (make sure there is no file extension)
3. Using root explorer (It can be found on Google Play) move dlpkgfile to root /cache
4. Make a new file in /cache/recovery and name it command
5. Edit command file and write following code into it

1. No need to root this time. Just download partial update file and place it inside the folder where your adb drivers are extracted.

3. Your FonePad7 will now reboot and start installing system updates.

01/10/2014 - Looks like this time Asus released update before 23/10/2014 which was expected date of new update release. Asus Fonepad 7 updated to 6.4.4 to 6.5.0 after receiving this update.
23/09/2014 - Asus released OTA update to 6.4.4
23/08/2014 - Asus released partial update from 6.3.6 to 6.4.2.
18/07/2014 - Asus released official 6.3.6 firmware on there official website. Check it out (Reported by @manstein )
10/07/2014 - CheatDroid is working fine without any problem. Tested
08/07/2014 - SoftKeyZ working Fine on root. Tested
05/07/2014 - Tested Latest Version on Xposed works fine. Which means no need to use Beta ASUS version Xposed.

As of this morning, my ME372CG gives the "Server is busy" response. So, my guess is .. update server is being spammed with update requests.
As I'm still rocking Android 4.3 ... could you give me a brief summary as to how to intercept the update and save the file instead of updating immediately?
Of course with the sole intention of posting the update-file here on XDA.

I will surely test it but after some time I want to enjoy 4.4 stock for some time (its silly I know ) and yes WiFi hotspot works on this build

To Arun & Mehrdad595 .. been following several threads for months in the hopes of KitKat updates (or root) for my ME372CG.
If it wasn't for you 2 I almost gave up and was ready to look for another device. Sadly, Asus has never been terribly clear as to what devices they plan on updating. Which is a shame.
Me, as a Dutch user, I finally got my message saying there's an update. So Holland's in the clear. Giving it a go as we speak.
EDIT/ UPDATE
I updated my Dutch Fonepad 7 to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat.
It seems it is working wonders .. except for Ziggo TV. It's a Dutch app for viewing online TV made for Ziggo and is only usable when Ziggo is your cable TV & ISP company. Ziggo TV does NOT seem to be working. Tried the lot, re-install, re-boot, different usernames .. looking into it as we speak, it just seems fair to give a shoutout to Dutch people who are up for KitKat. Update at your own risk.

i've been tried to update f/w to 4.4 over OTA or by downloading the partial update file..
but i still have an error, cannot install the update..
just tried OTA update but i can't update and it's restore to original configuration..
tried partial update file too (twice)..
first try : Failed <remote: problem with creating ota update file!
second try : error while copy multimedia package
aaarrrgghhhh.. should i reset to factory default then try to update again?

Brother can you help us out a little here?
Before rooting you need to unlock bootloader of your device:
Unlocking process :
- For unlocking you need 3 identifications from your phone.
1. Serial No. You can find this in Settings > About phone > status. 2nd last line.
2. IMEI No. Again Settings > About phone > status. You need IMEI1 only. I repeat for dual sim phones, IMEI1 is only required.
3. Product ID. To get your phone's product ID, dial "*#*#1357946#*#*". The number you see on screen after dialing this code is Product ID. copy it.
- Now goto http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
This page is in chinese. From first dropdown select 2nd options. Wait for sometime, while it loads phone model names into second dropdown. Once phone models are loaded. Select GEM-703L from second dropdown.
- Put in your Serial No, IMEI No, Product ID in next 3 text boxes.
- Key in Verification code you see in image next to last box.
- Click Submit button (Right side green button)
If you consistently get some error. Mail above SN, IMEI, Product ID to [email protected]. They will revert back with unlock code in few days.
- Next download "X2 bootloader unlock.zip".

- Connect phone to computer, shutdown. Press and hold volume down button and power button. Keep holding volume down button, untill phone enters boot loader mode.
- double-click unlock.bat. Select option 3.
- Disconnect phone from computer, Key in the unlock code on phone. If unlock is success, you will see a android robot and "Phone unlocked" written below it.
Now Rooting :
There are essentially 3 methods for rooting, Method 3 is better than 2 is better than 1.

1. There are seperate rar files for B009 and B012. Download based on your current Rom.

1. Download and extract rar file.

5. Reboot
6. Run 2.Run.Cmd, Follow instructions. Phone will reboot itself. If fail, try again.
7. Done. Open camera app, No camera issues.

WORKED! checked via root explorer..in system app...woo hoo!
yes..changed font too now...all working (B012 had bootloader unlocked already when on previous version-was still unlocked as that process supposedly is permanent)

If I had known the camera would stop would not have rooted..oh well new problem to fix...
Edit ..at least screenshot and gallery work...apparently it is the root method?...some boards mention that camera failing is due to some specific root method and to flash recovery and boot image to fix problem..something to that effect

Yes. Re-root with second method, if you can take the pain to re-image to B009 and update then update to B012.
Process :
1. Download B009 from here : http://emuirom123.dbankcloud.com/GEM-703L_EMUI 3.0_android5.0_V100R001C233B009.rar?rid=1276
2. copy dload to sdcard and goto EMUI updater> setting > local update. Select update and image.
3. After 009 installation, update OTA to B012.
4. Goto 1st page of this post and root with new method mentioned.

Follow his instruction :
lease follow these instruction closely...also not responsible for brick or anything that happens to your device..do this at your own risk.
1. Ensure you have the proper drivers for your phone. If you don't, download and install the proper drivers.
2. Extract the file you downloaded for your phone, and move the resulting "rootedsystem.img" file to the root of your phone's internal SD card with MTP mode. Do not rename this file, or move it into any folders. If you don't get a file named "rootedsystem.img" DO NOT continue. You need to properly extract the file.
3. Download the LG_Root.zip in the second post .. ((thanks to @Unjustified Dev https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347788843 ))
4. Download and unzip the LG_Root.zip in your preferred location
5. Enable ADB debugging on your device
6. Power off your device, When the device is powered off, hold volume up and insert a USB cable connected to the PC Wait for the drivers to install
7. go to the LG_Root folder (the one you downloaded) Double click ports.bat (This will give us the COM port in which our device is connected we are looking for the Diag port)
8. In the root of LG_Root folder start a command promp (Inside of LG_Root folder hold shift and right click a blank space you should see "Open command window here")
9. In the command window type the command "Send_Command.exe \\.\COM4" (no quotes)......(NOTE: change"4" to ur diag port number from step 8.
10. Type "id" and press enter (no quotes). You should get back some text starting with "uid=(0)root gid=(0)root". If not, press CTRL-C, and do step 10 again (the application sometimes doesn't respond on the first command).
11. Run the command specified for ur varient in the section below titled to flash the rooted system image.
12. After a few minutes of sitting, you should get back a "#" prompt. This indicates the process has finished.
13. Type "LEAVE" (no quotes) and press enter. Your phone should reboot, and your phone will be rooted.
Now that you're rooted, MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE OTA UPDATES, if you accidentally take an OTA, you might not be able to roll back or fix it.
You can also delete the rootedsystem.img from your phone's internal SD card to save some space.

Its work on mine H959, use h955 15a image. but urs H959 will become H955 after root/update. ^^

u need to open with Chrome or firefox. IE not work. choose "DOwnload through browser".

Its work fine on mine ，no error or problem.
Didn't work
Nope ain't working. No progress bar in Download Mode. Softbricked it. Luckily managed to flash it back using LG Flashing Tools 2014 works using normal mode. I mean on H959.

Its will not show progres bar at download modecoz its fast about30sec， After u enter command its will show “# “ this then type “LEAVE“ for restart phone.

Yeah that I did. After "LEAVE" command it restarted and then boot loop with "Security Error" every time.
Just 1 question: Do I need to upgrade my firmware to V15a first before performing this?

Is the rooted system img.rar corrupt? When I try to open it with 7zip it says it can't open it as an archive.
EDIT: Apparently it extracts via WinRar. Strange.

Andoid 6 is on the way for the LG V10. Do you know, will the phone get an update when it is rooted?
Lucky man...its course your using Softwareversion V10c regulary.
My decice uses V10a, so there is no official tot file from LG yet...

I've been trying to update my Mate 20 X to EMUI 10 since 1/12/2019 using system update and Hicare .. but nothing
so I was looking for other ways to download it
I found a website to download this firmware ( must pay $18 ) to download this firmware .. I paid $18 and download the update and install it using dload method
so I uploaded the Firmware to Mediafire to download for free and I hope this can help everyone looking for this update
Before you download .. you must check your phone information and it must be :
- Model Number : EVR-L29
- Build number starting with (C185XXXXXXX)
- if your phone information is different .. please write it in new reply and I will check if I can provide you with firmware .
- Everything in internal storage will be removed ( Data - Settings - Accounts ) .
I used dload method with SD card ( not working with internal storage ) .. I didn't try SP Flash Tool or Flashy tool
How to download and install firmware using dload method :
1- Download firmware from here ( 4.06GB )
2- Unzip file to SD card Directly.
3- make sure the file location must be like this ( SD ==> dload ) inside dload folder there are 3 zip files .. DO NOT EXTRACT THEM
4- Turn off your phone and make sure it's not connected to PC/LAPTOP.
5- Press & hold The volume up + The volume down first .. then press the power button and keep pressing all together
6- keep pressing until the EMUI Logo Appears .. you can stop pressing now
7- wait until the installation finish and your mobile will restart .
8- now your phone is ready :good:

I have been doing the updates with OTG storage. Just insure the \dload folder is in root of otg just like NM instructions.
