LG H959 V15A-E ROOTED andriod 5.1.1

u can ROOT H959 V15a/H959 v15c andriod 5.1.1 version official Using LG h955 v15a rooted system image.i did mine lg H959 twn v15a and h959 twn v15c /v15E official root ^^.

Follow his instruction :
lease follow these instruction closely...also not responsible for brick or anything that happens to your device..do this at your own risk.
1. Ensure you have the proper drivers for your phone. If you don't, download and install the proper drivers.
2. Extract the file you downloaded for your phone, and move the resulting "rootedsystem.img" file to the root of your phone's internal SD card with MTP mode. Do not rename this file, or move it into any folders. If you don't get a file named "rootedsystem.img" DO NOT continue. You need to properly extract the file.
3. Download the LG_Root.zip in the second post .. ((thanks to @Unjustified Dev https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347788843 ))
4. Download and unzip the LG_Root.zip in your preferred location
5. Enable ADB debugging on your device
6. Power off your device, When the device is powered off, hold volume up and insert a USB cable connected to the PC Wait for the drivers to install
7. go to the LG_Root folder (the one you downloaded) Double click ports.bat (This will give us the COM port in which our device is connected we are looking for the Diag port)
8. In the root of LG_Root folder start a command promp (Inside of LG_Root folder hold shift and right click a blank space you should see "Open command window here")
9. In the command window type the command "Send_Command.exe \\.\COM4" (no quotes)......(NOTE: change"4" to ur diag port number from step 8.
10. Type "id" and press enter (no quotes). You should get back some text starting with "uid=(0)root gid=(0)root". If not, press CTRL-C, and do step 10 again (the application sometimes doesn't respond on the first command).
11. Run the command specified for ur varient in the section below titled to flash the rooted system image.
12. After a few minutes of sitting, you should get back a "#" prompt. This indicates the process has finished.
13. Type "LEAVE" (no quotes) and press enter. Your phone should reboot, and your phone will be rooted.
Now that you're rooted, MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE OTA UPDATES, if you accidentally take an OTA, you might not be able to roll back or fix it.
You can also delete the rootedsystem.img from your phone's internal SD card to save some space.

u need to open with Chrome or firefox. IE not work. choose "DOwnload through browser".

Its work fine on mine ，no error or problem.

Didn't work
Nope ain't working. No progress bar in Download Mode. Softbricked it. Luckily managed to flash it back using LG Flashing Tools 2014 works using normal mode. I mean on H959.

Yeah that I did. After "LEAVE" command it restarted and then boot loop with "Security Error" every time.
Just 1 question: Do I need to upgrade my firmware to V15a first before performing this?

Is the rooted system img.rar corrupt? When I try to open it with 7zip it says it can't open it as an archive.
EDIT: Apparently it extracts via WinRar. Strange.

Is this file will wipe data like the other TOT file?
after root .. can we receive updates from LG?

I have just flashed this TOT file.
My phone works well with this TOT. A few pre-installed apps included in the TOT, but they can be uninstalled.
Since I don't have 4G so cannot try whether VoLTE works.

I didn't do a wipe after flashing the TOT, but i have clicked "refurbrish" when flashing.

You need to flash a kdz for downgarding.
If you want to go to LP with root, first you need to flash a offical H962 LP kdz then the rooted LP tot(i don't know whether H962 have rooted TOT but you may try the H961N one)

I didn't follow this procedure. I had successfully rooted my H962 following a procedure from a Taiwan website. But this quite similar with this guide also. Also thru the help of lg up and flashing of a rooted kdz file

Stuck on LP though correct?

Where did you get the TOT file from?

With the proper knowledge one can build a TOT file from the components of a KDZ file, which are usually easier to get from the LG servers.

Then you can use Eliminater74 Rom
Flash Part 1 Dont Reboot
Flash A Part 2 Dont Reboot
Flash SuperSU
Note**If Elimnater74s Rom does happen to delete your recovery.img then you can still flash TWRP by using FlashFire by ChainFire**
Also once you upgrade to MM even if its a ROM you CANNOT revert back to LP.

Then you need to go to the Developer Section and see Eliminater74 because i think he's the only one with a rooted MM

It is part of the tot, directions look good, follow completely and you can have stock-rooted MM

All I was looking for, thanks, will try this this weekend.
OP, just a suggestion, you may want to indicate that twrp is part of the tot file. It wasn't clear there.

This method certainly looks cleaner than the other method discussed last night. Looks like pure stock rooted which is exactly what I want. I passed out last night after i finished backing up everything which is a good thing now! I don't see anything about unlocking the bootloader in his instructions which is interesting. Basically it's flash the kdz, flash the tot, reboot recovery and flash superSu and you're golden. You would assume that this is necessary but has anyone tried this yet and not had to do that? It would actually be a bonus to not have to do that and avoid the corruption splash screen.

LG UP Download:MEGA, GOOGLEDRIVE
Step by step flash:
1. Download all file.
2. Install the LG Drivers.
3. Extract the RAR File to get the .TOT file.
4. Unzip "lgupnew.zip"
5. Run LGUP_Store_Frame_Ver_1_14_3.msi
6. LGUP_8994_DLL_Ver_0_0_1_18.msi
7. Copy the "common" folder to "C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\model"
8. Plug phone into Downloadmod.
9. Run "LGUP" from your start menu.
10. Select your Phone if see option.
11. Choose bin file choose kdz v20e H901 then choose REFUBISH
12. Go to setting > develop > enabable usb debugging + oem unlock check.
13. Put downloadmod again, open lgup choose UPGRADE > choose file TOT LGH901AT-00-V20e-TMO-US-MAR-16-2016-ARB01+0.tot >Start.
14. Put phone to twrp download Supper SU (https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8mSVItI_cqRNTlFeVJFNC1aejA/view?usp=sharing) Copy to phone memory then flash it> Done phone have root.

If we are already on stock MM do we need to install the KDZ first? Or is that just to get you to MM?

I am curious will this method also works on H961N and other models? Does this method need unlocked bootloader?

after that I just get boot loops, red text boot verification failed.
I enabled OEM unlock in settings, so I don't know what the issue is. I also tried redownloading the files.
Nevermind, had to get into fastboot via Vol down + plug in USB then unlock the bootloader via adb command

are you already on Marshmallow or are you doing this from Lollipop 5.1.1?

is your bootloader unlocked? that was my problem. had to unlock it to get the phone to boot, then i got into TWRP and flashed su. i got it all done with the help of member warp64

7.0 KDZ now available on mega.nz!

So, I created a folder on the mega.nz which contains all the necessary files to update.
How to install via LGUP:
1. Download all files from https://mega.nz/#F!6c8UgCTD!v-nTgi6StlYHjLD1OglH_g
2. Install USB drivers, LGUP and extract UPPERCUT
3. Connect you'r LG to PC (MTP mode)
4. Open UPPERCUT and wait untill LGUP opens
5. Upload kdz file in LGUP and check "Upgrade"(Without data loss) or "Refurbish"(full reset)
6. Just wait untill firmware is fully install (LG can reboot few times in update process, it's normal)
Feel free to ask any questions. Will answer as soon as possible

Can I downgrade back to Marshmallow if I installed Nuogut 7.0 ?
