Whatsapp freezes !!! - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

Using Whatsapp, I realized there were problems. Both in the adroid version 6 and in the android 7 version, Whatsapp freezes. Of course I have set up the phone properly so that Whatsapp does not fade when the screen shuts off, but freezes the same. I've read that this problem also happens on Huawei p9 and p9 lite. Do you know a solution?

I think there was something like you have to lock the app in memory from recents bar maybe or from settings. I don't own the phone though.

Never had this problem. I have whatsapp on protected apps list and everything is smooth

[Q] Background processes killed since Lollipop update?

Hi there,
since the update to Android 5.1 and EMUI 3.1 some services like Whatsapp wont work properly. That means for me:
- Push notifications from Whatsapp and Snapchat will only arrive, when I open the app -> sometimes, when I close the app from the task manager or leave it over the night
- Whatsapp forgets the names of my contacts and only shows the numbers (some background service not running?) -> fixable by "updating" the contacts through Whatsapp. Happens at least 5 times a day, even when I'm not closing Whatsapp through the taskmanager.
Every permission I could find is activated, I guess it's some kind of automatic battery saving, which I'm unable to find.
Thank you very much,
Julian
I used to have that problem as well after updating my Honor 6 to EMUI 3.1 based on Lollipop 5.1.
Updating WhatsApp to version 2.12.278 (link in the FAQ section in the official website) seems to improve. However I still have another problem which could not be resolved, I could not change the notification sounds.

you need to set your apps to be protected at Settings -> Protected apps to prevent them to be closed automatically by the system
hope it helps

I have Honor 6 too, don't updated till now. And i have another phone with Android 5.1 with same problem. Is there any third party App like "protected Apps" from Huawei? I don't have any chance do get my backgroundservices running, that unbelievable :crying: who decided this? The Charwoman? I mean, android without backgroundservices = no mor messages in lock screen.
And when i leave app open, battery usage is 4x stronger then background service....
I have runkeeper protected and still after about 1h of usage it simply stops with no errors...
I'm on an early version of DEV (rom), I think I'm going the "stable" route next.

I have the exact same issue, came across this thread looking for answers. RunKeeper (and I assume any other app as well) is simply killed after about 1 hour. I usually use my phone during walks, to for example take pictures, answer chat messages and whatnot, so I thought the issue could be that I was out of memory and that is why it closed the app. To get to the botton of it, I tried the following steps:
- Reboot the device
- Clear everything from the multitask menu
- Make sure RunKeeper is set as a "protected app"
- Start RunKeeper, begin an activity
- Keep the app open, i e not going back to home screen or opening any other app
- Waking the screen every 5 minutes or so to make sure it doesn't go into some deep sleep mode
Result? After about 1 hour, when I pick up the phone and unlock it the RunKeeper process is simply gone, killed by the system. By the way, for me it's a Huawei Mate S device, but this seems to be an EMUI issue. I'm on EMUI 3.1 (B145 europe, official release). Just thought I'd chip in. This is annoying to the point of being a dealbreaker to ever getting another Huawei until I can confirm it's fixed.
I have this problem constantly. I installed an app called "pnf no root" but it also helps temporarely. I really like my honor 6 [ h60-L12] but this is a really annoying problem. I realize that huawei doing this save battery power, but this is ridiculous. What's the point of protecting the apps if it doesn't do anything in the first place ?

Hi, I have the same problem with my Honor6 [h60-L04C900B521]. I talked with technical support and they told me to install an application locking the GPS signal . Check if it works with Endomondo + GPS Connected app but this can only fix the endomondo problem I hope.
Edit. 10.04
Unfortunately this application do nothing. Endomondo was kill after 1 hour running. Anyone have idea what to do with this?
Edit 11.05
Finally after update to marshmallow there is one option to keep endomondo while workout. Under battery in right-up corner there is settings icon and there is option "close excessively power intensive apps running in the background" this option actually works fine.

[Completed] Android keeps killing apps in background

So I've seen a lot of android problems but not something like this.
Im using Ulefone Power ( Android 6.0, 3GB ram and so on...) Everytime i clear recent apps android kills app completely. Lets make it easier to understand. Im using WhatsApp and when i close the app i can still recieve notifications but when i clear WhatsApp from recent apps android totally kills WhatsApp and i cant recieve notifications anymore unitl i manually open the app.
Another example is i also installed fingerprint gestures where i can tap once at fingerprint sensor and the screen will turn off. Its the same thing when app is in recent apps everything works great even the notification stands in notification area but when i clear recent apps everything stops.
I've never faced this problem before and i cant find solution so if somebody knows how to fix it i would be really thankful

Mate 9 Recent Apps Keep disappearing !?

Had this phone a week now, mainly pleased apart from a few annoying bugs, video recordings jitter and stutter, touch screen sometimes not responding, However the thing that is annoying me the most is after a while apps I've opened keep disappearing from recent apps, and I can tell it's closing them because there is a delay when I run the same app again even though it should be in memory ! I've disabled all power intensive crap notifications and stopped it from closing anything but are still being forced closed, facebook, Instagram, gmail etc, my nexus 6p doesn 't do this and still shows recent apps from weeks ago not a few hours.
Bump,
Wow no one else has noticed apps you've opened after a while disappear from recent apps ? I've never owned a single android phone that does this apart from this one.
It happens to me to, it doesn't show the apps anymore in recents for some reason but when I open them it's there instantly like it's kept in memory. Only happens when my device is sleeping for a long time.

I think it seems it's in memory because it's so quick but I think they are being closed, never had this problem with my Nexus 6p
Yes this is happening to me too with China version AL00C00...every morning I'm locking in recent apps list Facebook, messenger, viber, Instagram because I want notifications to comes instantly from this apps... That's the only way.... Anyway I had noticed that sometimes after 10 or 15 hours some of them disappear from the list but still running... When I open them they start instantly and I can see that they still locked again in recent apps...
I don't know why this happens...
Im on B167 rom...

P20 strange rom actions

Hy
Not long ago i started noticing that my P20 started behave strangely. Before i got the android 9 update i used to have at least 2 gb ram free. After it im lucky if i have 1.5 with no apps open. Also sometimes apps are giving visual bugs like the options icons are shown on the main screen(not using app drawer or other launcher). Also sometimes when i type the google pad just disappears like i clicked outside of it. Sometimes it happens on my tablet aswell(m5 lite).
And as for a final the media volume randomly drops to a specified level even tho the volume bar is at max. Nothing else runs in the background and the phone is in my pocket.
Thanks for the answers
Edit #1: When i get a notification i used to get a floating cloud when my phone is unlocked. Now i dont get that and im missing out on a lot of information without it(no buzzing either)

Black screen after unlock or wake up

Hi there. I have Huawei P40 Pro.147 without GMS but with some apps installed from the apk files. I have got Action launcher 3 46.0.3beta (latest) for example and One Shade for Notification Centre.
Some apps like whatsapp bring back to Huawei Launcher even if Action launcher is a default one, sometimes even it breaks the setup and action launcher act ljke freshly installed (odd).
I have no idea if that is linked to my other issue or is it coincidence but sometimes when I wake up my phone I csn unlock it with face or finger ID and yet all I can see is black screen (sometimes an app but glitched like for example if I locked screen on whatsapp it shows WhatsApp but only plain background of app no data or icons)
When I long pressed power button for AI and asked for Settings it repeated that I need to unlock the phone first which is strange because I have unlocked the phone (finger ID icon disappeared and face regocnition worked too) so why the phone is acting so strangely? Is it due to launcher that I use? Or there is something else wrong with it?
Anyone had same issue or is using 3rd party launcher without any issues?
Kind Regards
It has nothing to do with the hardware. I am sure it is software issue. Hardware will not act like this with certain apps, it would be random. Here seems like all apps installed by.apk file are sometimes breaking, apps
