I have the TMO variant, purchased directly through Samsung. For some reason SMS syncing and responding does not work very well on this phone, through Pushbullet. I have ensured the permissions are correct, and have tried clearing data, uninstalling, removing it from my Pushbullet account, pretty much everything I can think of. And it either doesn't sync entire messages from contacts, sends double texts, and doesn't show notifications on the computer. I have a pro-paid-for account, and am using the stock Samsung text app. Anyone else run into this?

Yes I have, and it seems something to do with how Samsung sets up their battery optimizations. I ended up canceling because I am on digits, and also Side Sync is more reliable than Pushbullet.

Deleted Google account from my phone and re-added it. Hangouts seem to work now
Bit of a weird issue, wondering if anyone has some thoughts. I don't receive notifications from a Hangout, SMS notifications work fine from the Hangouts app though. I've checked the usual sources; I'm not reading the notifications on another machine, and I have notifications enabled in the settings. I also don't seem to be syncing properly, as in the Hangout messages I receive take a long time to show up even when I have a strong network connection. Any thoughts on what this might be?
I'm on the CM 11 M1 snapshot.
EDIT
So looking around it seems the Google account associated with the Hangouts is reporting a sync error however when I go to see what the error is no Google component has an error. How would I go about logging the account syncing, the log might have the info there

Yup, network type does not matter.

I had this exact same problems for the past couple days:
- not being able to receive Hangout messages
- SMS worked fine from Hangout app
- sending Hangout messages were ok
- sync errors in APP DATA
I tried everything from logging on/off from other devices, and logging on/off from the Nex5 and rebooting several times. None of this worked. Last night, I completely deleted my google account on the Nex5 and relogged in. That did the trick. But I'm still experiencing sync error under APP DATA.

This seemed to work, thanks man
So I deleted this com.messages. something off my phone as I believe I was tied to the ATT message and sync backup, but I can't seem to get MMS now. I'm not sure if thats reason its happening or not. Checked my APNs and they seem good.
That is exactly the reason you cannot receive messages. Reroot your phone, that will install the rooted image and you will be good to go.
I think as long as you have com.lge.leccp still on the phone and unblocked you can use another messaging app on the AT&T model. Try installing Google Hangouts, etc. and setting it as default under Settings > Default Message App.
People may want to set their messaging app to not automatically download/retrieve MMS till something is done about the Stagefright hack being announced next week.
I have an unlocked US variant S6 SM-G920T with Baseband (G920TUEU3COK1).
I have been using it on Tmobile without issues since Cyber Monday.
But now, randomly, when I get a phone call from a contact that is already in the phone, I see the number on the display rather than the contact name. After I either answer or reject or allow to go to voicemail, and then go look at the call log, the contact name is displayed. This is getting annoying as I keep ignoring calls that I would like to take ( and sometimes need to take).
Only thing I've tried is to clear data and clear cache in the contacts app.
Phone is not rooted. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
Couple of questions:
1) Is it all contacts, or just some?
2) What type of contacts are they? Phone contacts, Gmail contacts or some other account?
All my contacts are stored in Google. So they were synced when I setup the phone. The issue seems to be random, but more often than not. I tried clearing the data in the phone app as well. No luck.
Thanks.
Update: I have just seen that this issue is for all incoming calls when the phone is in a LOCKED state.
When the call comes through while I am using the phone the contract shows fine with the name.
But still no solution in sight.
Hi, just bought a new ATT S7, running 6.01.
For years, i have run SMS Backup + to sync texts to my gmail account. Love it.
On my new S7, this app does not recognize/sync SMS texts sent from the phone. If i use Google now to dictate "send message to xxx saying yyy" ...that text composed that way gets sync'd. But one that is typed or dictated in the messaging app does NOT.
Sent SMS texts are NOT sync'd either using Exchange activesync. Recvd texts sync fine.
I also use MightyText and sent texts from the phone do not show up in the app. If i send a text from the MightyText web app, it usually will sync via SMS Backup +.
I have reached out to both vendors for assistance.
i have changed my keyboard from Samsung kybd to Google keyboard. no luck.
Anyone seeing anything like this?
I turned off "Advanced Messaging" and it seems to take longer to Send the SMS from the phone, and the message will intermittently sync with the various apps (Sms backup +, MightyText.) But not always.
make sure your apn info is correct for SMS / MMS

Keeping ADV messaging disabled seems to do the trick.
Anyone else seeing this? If it set Google Messages as my default text client, I end up having to switch back to the OnePlus client to receive all my texts. Oddly enough some seem to come through, especially if they're not from a short code.
i had 2 things cause this.
If you're using verizon make sure you have the CDMA-less feature provisioned on your line.
And I had to uninstall and reinstall the google messages app after some kinda thing I did broke it randomly.

I've got the CDMA-less feature. I'll try a reinstall and see if it helps.
