I had the same problem, when I flashed my testing recovery.
What u need is flash stock recovery and boot (you can find them by extracting official firmware; you can find it here) After extracted them you have boot.img and recovery.img, but odin flashes only tar files, so, to create boot.tar and recovery.tar, open terminal (if u use linux or cygwin if u use windows) and type:
Code:
tar -H ustar -c recovery.img > recovery.tar
and then
md5sum -t recovery.tar >> recovery.tar
for recovery.img and for boot.img type:
Code:
tar -H ustar -c boot.img > boot.tar
and then
md5sum -t boot.tar >> recovery.tar
If it doesn't work flash official firmware, but first try first metod, because by flashing official firmware your data will be wiped

Cannot Flash to OEM Firmware....

So I was attempting to use Google pay to pay at a store today (Left my wallet at home) and an update notification popped up. I thought I hit cancel because I was too distracted to read it I clicked continue. I was dumb enough to be impatient and restart my phone manually during the update which appears to have fried my OS because its stuck on the "Downloading... Do not turn off target" screen. Im trying to flash the factory OS onto the device but I get the error I have pasted below.
I have a feeling this has something to do with the version I downloaded to flash. I have AT&T so I went to Sammobile and looked for a firmware version that matches my carrier and model number. Its not on there so I figured I would try the only thing close.
Model of my phone: SM-N986U
Carrier: AT&T USA
The version I am trying to use: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g...M-N986U1/ATT/download/N986U1UES1CTL7/1112197/ (Again this is for the SM-N986U1 not sure if it makes a difference but its the only thing close I could find for AT&T)
Odin version: Odin3 v3.314
The error:
<ID:0/006> Added!!
<ID:0/006> Odin engine v(ID:3.1401)..
<ID:0/006> File analysis..
<ID:0/006> Total Binary size: 9395 M

<ID:0/006> Initialzation..
<ID:0/006> FAIL! SHA256 is invalid
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
Phone screen in Download mode says:
CARRIER: ATT
RPMD fuse set
RPMD PROVISIONED
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
FRP LOCK : ON
WARRANTY VOID : 0x0
QUALCOMM SECUREBOOT : ENABLE
RO SWREV : B1 (1,1,1,1,1,1) K1 S1
SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLE
SPU[VALID] :5
HMD STATUS : NONE
DID : It does provide this number although Im not sure if its something that is personally important or of any risk providing (Let me know)
Things Ive tried include Rebooting phone into Flash Mode (Side button and volume up and down then up for continue). Running Odin as Admin, Restarting Odin, Different USB ports (all on the motherboard), and disconnecting PC from internet.
Again not sure why I cannot find an AT&T Firmware version for the SM-N986U and can only find one for an SM-N986U1 from Sammobile.
Any help much appreciated!
Use the t-mobile U version just don't flash the user data

Galaxy S5 g900A TRWP install failure

Every time I use Odin to install TWRP I get a failure.
<ID:0/004> recovery.img
<ID:0/004> FAIL! (Auth)
<ID:0/004>
<ID:0/004> Complete(Write) operation failed.
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)
I did set USB Debugging ON.
Tried both Odin Options > Auto reboot ON and OFF.
I've tried different cables (no change),
different versions of Odin (Odin3_v3.10.7, Odin3 v3.11.1, odin3-v3.12.4_4),
3 different date versions of TWRP plus redownloads (twrp-klte.tar, twrp-3.3.1-0-klte.img.tar, twrp-3.6.0_9-0-klte.img.tar),
and a factory reset on the phone.
Other than this the phone seems top work fine. I did successfully do this a couple of years ago, but it doesn't work now.
The phone screen says:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-900A
CURRENT BINARY: SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
SYSTEM STATUS: OFFICIAL
REACTIVATION LOCK: OFF
KNOX WARRANTY VOID: 8x8
QUALCOMM SECURE BOOT: ENABLE (CSB)

SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLE
UDC START
SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery
SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery
SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery
SECURE CHECK FAIL: recovery
I did try multiple times to install so S C FAIL x 4
Is something wrong with the phone?
What else can I do?
The TWRP site gives five different downloads for the S5 depending on the phone you have.
Always choose the right and latest one.
I found a wonderful description of the way you should act using Odin and TWRP
The description is for the S8 but the installation is practically the same.
HELP! S8 got bricked, can't access recovery mode and OEM is locked
Can I get some help? I bricked my phone because I was trying to install twrp. It flashed but I got an error where it reset my data, after data reset I was stuck at the boot screen with the logo . I've tried steps like flashing stock rom, odin...
forum.xda-developers.com
Give it a try on your S5.
Hope this might help you .

If already fixed then please let us know how you did it ... with some details.
I no longer have this problem. I upgraded to a Moto G7.
I did read the link above and it sounds interesting. I would definitely try it if I still had the Galaxy S5.
