So out of curiosity. First things first
Do u have a case on it and tried with it off?
Do you have a case with a plastic screen protec and or a temp glass. Try removing those some thicker temp glass interferes with operation.
Third. Have u dropped your device?
4th. Are you rooted and made any mods to the system. If no to the cases and glasses and yes to rooting. Try reflashing stock firmware. And then try.
If not rooted and or dropped. Sounds like internal malfuntion. Nothing here will fix that.
U might try looking for a touch sensativity or accsesibility setting or something allong those lines.
What firmware custom roms anything like that?

Well i do have a case, i removed it to check but it still didn't work. I reverted back to stock unrooted. I did drop it and cracked the glass. I had the glass replaced but i didnt noticed the fault until recently. My theory is that as it fell, the connectors on the digitizer came loose.

That is a possibility. I did some work on mine and didnt get the usb home and touch buttons plugged in all the way. The light doesnt work on my recents key and randomly went nuts til i checked it and it was barely plugged in. Just enough to work.

Then ill have the phone checked out. I really dont believe the digitizer is damaged. The fact that only 2 fingers register may really be because of the connector. Thanks for the help

Yes. I did use a couple of multitouch detection apps. I also used the show pointer location in the developer settings. Only registers a maximum of 2 fingers

[Q] I Screwed Something Up

A friend of mine had a Galaxy S3 Amber with a broken (and blank) screen and wanted her data from it's internal memory that is locked and not in debugged mode. I did a lot of research and found the best, most efficient way was to do a motherboard swap with another gs3. I had a Galaxy S3 Blue. I watched a couple of videos and it seemed rather easy. I gathered the proper tools and was EXTREMELY careful not to break or rip anything (and to my knowledge i did not). When i put her motherboard from the amber one into the blue one and the screen would not come on. My first thoughts were it must be her motherboard that went bad. Well when i went to put my blue gs3 back together (again being very careful this entire time) I'm now having the same issue as she was. Black screen, no back light. The bottom lights DO come on and i feel it vibrate when i get a message. There was also no power on chime...
I know its hard to tell with out looking but any ideas on what could be wrong or what i might have screwed up? i checked all the connections and everything looks perfect. Nothing is bent or connected wrong and I didn't force or break anything.
update: so i found that the touch part of it still works fine. i can hear the ripple unlock as well as all the other sounds and such when i touch around and i can here it opening apps. the only issue lies in the screen itself being blank with no back light what so ever,
First of all remove the battery and attempt to power on, then leave without battery for 1 min, I know this sounds silly but it worked on an old iPhone 3G so anythings worth a shot.
If that doesn't work go back into the S3 and make sure all the data clips are firmly in place and locked down but not twisted in anyway. Also make sure their is no moisture or dust on the ribbons. You may not realise it but even the smallest imperfection with this can cause massive issues down the line.
If all else fails her phone may have broke your screen, I don't know how but it is a possibility
Hope I could help and good luck

so i took it apart again today to double check and clean everything and under inspection i noticed a teeny tiny slit on the edge of the lower, bigger ribbon. i know the smallest bit could be horrid. Any fix and would that cause just the screen to not show? i don't know if that is the led connection but i think it may be.

If theirs a slit I'm affraid that could be it for the screen, like I said even the smallest imperfection can cause massive issues. The slit is probably in the one of the data sections of the ribbon cable which is why data for the screen isn't being carried.
For the fix I don't think their is one unless you can fit a new ribbon on to yout S3's screen
Sorry about the screen
So I took it all apart again. Cleaned ever little thing I could and now it works again. ?

Disable Magnet Lock?

Hi,
I just got my OPO today. One thing I noticed is that if I lay down my phone on my nexus 7 case, the magnets in it turn off my screen. Is there any way to disable this?
Don't lay it down on your Nexus case maybe?
Transmitted via Bacon
Yeah that's fine but what about other magnets. I have no use for the magnet lock so I would find it better to just disable it.
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.dubi.xposed.magnetoff
This should work. I didn't know that this feature is supported on the OPO. You need root for xposed
I'm not even sure there's a magnet lock on the OPO, it's the first time I hear about that
I tried to move a magnet around my phone, but it never locked
Are you sure it's not the proximity sensor which locked the phone ?

The N7 was underneath the OPO so no it wasn't the proximity sensor.

Try a rare-earth (Neodymium) magnet, it needs a strong magnetic field to trigger which won't always work with your average fridge magnet. The receiver is located on the right side of the screen in the bottom third.

The feature is listed on the product page for OnePlus' own flipcover, see "Automatic unlock"
http://oneplus.net/de/oneplus-one-flip-cover
Just an update. The xposed module seems to work. Didn't turn off like it did yesterday. I do wish it was an option in the ROM. I know some nexus 7 ROMs had the option. Or at least you could set it through a script.

Turning the screen off using a magnet requires Hall sensor and apparently OPO has one

Nexus 5 wont turn on at all :(

So i dropped my nexus 5 from about 2 ft accidentally and now it wont turn on, and it is extremely hot. Please some one helppppp!:crying:
I don't think it works, but please test it: Press and hold the powerbutton for 20-30 seconds. This will preform a reset (like removing battery). Good luck!

If it is getting hot, it's probably turning on. Looks like you'll have to get your screen replaced. Even if there is no crack, it does not mean the screen and digitizer is still intact.

extremely hot means something wrong with the devices including system corruption, if its hardware problem u might want to send to phone shop for diagnose,, if its software, try flash stock rom.. sees if its boot and showed up boot image...
i hope it doesnt have hardware damage since just a 2feet drop,, nevertheless the digitizer screen

I cant get into bootloader so i cant flash a factory image, there is no haptic feedback too. So i guess its a hardware problem.. the phone has cooled now. But it was extremely hot for an hour. I guess the battery ran out.

If by can't boot into bootloader you mean all you see is a black screen. Well that pretty much confirms that at least the screen needs to be replaced. Get it replaced and when testing it you'll find out if there's anything else wrong (hardware wise) with your Nexus 5. Cheers.

Nope. i got it checked and its the whole motherboard. Now i got to buy a new phone. Still confused how a 2 feet drop did this..
I can say that the body can't holds up that figure impact, our n5 is a whole plastics haha... My fri3nds n5 dropped his at 5 feet from his bare hands on a carpet, guess what, screen broken and its frame gone loose,,, wow, nice build.... However nexus 5 rocks !!!!
I recommend removing the back cover and checking for loose or damaged connections. Also, remove and re-attached each connections and try to boot the phone.

Mate 9 Calibration

Has an had any issues with screen calibration? Sometimes when I click on the screen it presses to the left of it. When I'm in the recents screen for my apps, it sometimes swipes away instead of selecting it, and I'm unable to consistently unlock the phone while it is charging. (Works like once in every 5 times) however, I'm on sure if that one is related.
Anyone have any ideas?
Which firmware are you on? I remember older firmwares were having a bit of a touch sensitivity isues.

I'm on MHA-L29C567B183. US version of the phone. Stock
Did you install a screen protector? Could be the reason for sensitivity issues. If not, I don't know. Maybe a factory reset Will help?

I removed the screen protector when I purchased it. I could do a factoru reset and see how it goes. Hopefully it's software related and not hardware related.
I do hope so as well then. I do have to say that the factory installed screen protector doesn't do this screen justice.

I thought it was for protecting it in the box?
Mine had a lot of air bubbles in it so removed it right away.
My charger still has the plastic on it though xD

Lol, no, this phone comes with a screen protector pre installed .
The touch sensitity is definitely off a little. I have to swipe the notification bar sometimes twice for it to come down. I also get some missed taps but it's infrequent enough that it isn't a problem for me. I heard they started fixing touch latency and optimization in 5.1. Don't know if we will ever see it.
If you are not using the stock charger weird things can happen.
Alrighty update: Factory settings still yields the same results. It's not frequent enough to make me go crazy, but it's still roughly the same. I guess my real pet peeve is when I need to go to the app manager to return to an open app and it just closes out. I've lost a lot of information that way like recipes when cooking and etc.
What I really don't understand is the fingerprint sensor not working while it's charging. It doesn't matter what charger I use. It just doesn't respond most of the time (Sometimes it unlocks like it's suppose to)
Im using Quick Charger from SS and I have this problem too. It's nice to know this is a common issue, not only me. I dont have any issues with fingerprint when charging, just notice when the battery between 5-60% it's insensitive for me (maybe quick charge is working strongly in this range), "insensitive" here means when you press and hold any things on the screen, it'll "tap" it and open it instead, all pressing or sliding or zooming actions are normal, just dragging has issue. When the battery is 70% and above, it becomes normal and no more insensitive touch. Just that so I think I can bear this thing.

Dual Screen Cover not working.

So out of nowhere the second screen doesn't turn on. I can still do gestures and move apps to the second screen, but the screen is completely off. Anyone encountered this? I turned off and on, I updated the firmware through the hidden menu, I force closed the dual home app and still nothing. Help!?

Check out the 3 pins on both parts. Also did you do some changes in connectivity, wifi? Wifi Direct or screen sharing. Because I highly doubt the information and power are being transmitted only by 3 pins! Seems impossible.
Were you messing around with, like, kingoroot or anything? Any recent updates you've done to the device? Any drops or impacts to the device, or left in a pocket and sat on, left in your pocket and your pants dropped to the floor? Caught in a downpour that soaked through your pants? The LG V50 is supposed to have good water resistance, but I'm not sure about the dual screen accessory. And chance it got wet?

Hello, Dathaniel.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/273971456048
Awesome, thanks.
If you're the type that the Dual Screen is calling to, rest assured, you're going to love it. It does feel a little prototypey, but I'm glad to see LG is still pursuing the form factor. I'm fully expecting the hype bubble around foldables to burst once people realize that the tech is an actual hindrance to productivity, and I'm hopeful that the dual screen implementation will take off instead.
That the V50 is confined to only 6gb/128gb memory, and lacks UFS3 are its only major trailing factors, but don't present any problem at current. Even faster charging options, reverse wireless for earbuds, and a depth sensor would be nice frills, but the wide angle selfie, the boom box and quad DAC more than make up for it. I do miss the ePen of the note, and can only dream at present of a Galaxy Note Dual Screen.
But I say, DO IT! The V50 Dual Screen is, even with price not considered, in my estimation, the best smartphone available in 2019. You'll love it. It changes everything.

I have the (V500N Korea version U +) and it works good with the Dual screen. But i notice in your photo you have the screen folded all the way back ! This turns the screen off, and blurrs that dual screen icon (like you circled)
Open the screen up and and it should un-blurr (if that is a word).
(You may have worked this out already as your post is 1 1/2 months old now)
