not receiving OTA updates - Huawei Mate 9 Questions & Answers

I'm using mate 9 pro. Version is LON-L29C636B139.
I heard the latest version is B156. How can I get such update. I tried checking update in settings but it says no update available for me.

It would depend on your region and which updates your carrier has approved to be released via OTA. Some carriers take long to test updates before release, as is the case here in Australia.
Where are you located?

I have the same version as you and had to use the Firmware Finder method to get the 156 update.

Hi!
I tried using the Firmware Finder method. Downloaded firmware through Firmware Finder, set Localhost and port 8080. But find nothing when search for update through the settings. Any ideas?

Sorry, not sure what to suggest. I just followed the instructions as per the app and thread on here, and it worked first time.

Don't download the files through Firmware Finder (useless to you), change settings in Firmware Finder to "Installation via system update", "Use new firmware base", "Use system download manager" and "View OTA updates". Then refresh the list of firmware, then find the firmware you want to install, tap it and then tap "Send firmware to updater". Then change your Proxy settings, then use the "System update" Settings page to look for updates, it should then popup. Once it starts downloading thru system updater, turn off the Proxy.

B378 rollout

Just FYI, I just got B378 pushed on System Update (was on C432B361 before), if anyone else wants to check for updates. Not sure what changes there are yet, changelog was same as B361, so presumably bug fixes from B360/1

Where are you from? I'm from Bulgaria and I'm running B360.

I was on C432 with B361. It was OTA so might not be a patch for 360 yet.
Hasn't fixed Device Policy anyway ?. Still can't sign into work Google Apps account without complaints that the device is unencrypted.

As I already said twice: I was on B361.
As someone who flashed it yesterday noted, it includes Duo preinstalled.
Yep just got it myself, check updates . I'm from UK.

Did you updated to android 7 from android 6 via OTA? I'm also in UK and I'm still waiting for an OTA (I've been told through HiCare that the latest version for my phone is C432B182 and that they're still working on a version of android 7 for it).
I got my P9 through Amazon and when it arrived, it came with the European version of the charger, not the UK version. Could that be the reason? That even if I'm located in UK, my P9 is not the one officially sold in UK?

Here is the official change log for B378:
This update optimizes system performance and stability, and fixes an issue where some UI elements were displayed incorrectly.
[Optimizations]
Decreases power consumption to prolong usage time.
Improves system performance and stability for smoother operations.
Optimizes the display in the status bar and notification panel, which now displays notifications more clearly.
Integrates Google security patches for improved system security.
[Fixes]
Fixes an issue where call durations were not displayed in the call log.
Fixes an issue where some UI elements were displayed incorrectly.
Got the notification too.
Since I have TWRP and root what would I have to do to update exactly?
-Flash stock boot.img
-Flash stock recovery
correct?

Did that following the instructions on other thread (I think they are exactly the same you've posted, I'm talking by heart here) and after every finishing Ok and being updated to B361, when the phone rebooted into the new version, the version reported on the about section or the update tool was a test version, not B361. Since that was not what I wanted, I downgraded back to B182.
That's why I was asking if he got the update through OTA.
Sent from my EVA-L09 using Tapatalk
I updated to B361 from B360 via dload. After that B378 popped up in system update.
After the update everything is working fine.

Were you on the Beta Test Programme?
My P9 which I bought from O2 UK, is not showing any updates. Whether I go thru the EMUI Update or the HiCare App!
So frustrating to find others one or even more versions ahead....

If your P9 is branded then you should wait the O2 updates or better take a look to this manual http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=1262626 (I don't know if there is some manual in xda in english)
I'm just updating to B378 now
@osrogon I know. I found the instructions in one thread and copied them to my pc.. They stayed there for a while since I was afraid to flash anything until I was sure I wont brick the phone No idea why it hasnt worked for you.
I got it yesterday OTA on my C432 in Italy.
Anyway, although the changelog mentions battery optimizations, I feel power and memory management is worse than B361. Battery seems to drain faster. Anyone can confirm?

Still No Nougat for Honor 6x!!!

It's 22 May....Could anybody please tell me Why there is no nougat update in my honor 6x BL-22 even after so many days of release.
I am unable to understand whether to flash that manual update or not as I don't want to ruin my new phone by any means.
I just see "No updates available" in updater app. So if there's something please help!!!

I have edit my last post
No need to panic.. I spoke to someone on the emui page via Facebook messenger.. it's being rolled out in phases in India and its gonna take a while to reach everyone. Patience is the key.
---------- Post added at 09:30 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:28 AM ----------
However you could download it via Firmware Finder. But lots of them who used this as a mean reported abnormal battery drain and the like. So my advice would be to wait until it reaches us on the updater app. Hope it was of some help.
Update it via Firmware finder
I have updated my 6x from firmware finder and there is no battery drain issue and after checking with Hisuite it show it is official use send to updater method to get nougat without failure

So it has only this version on server BLN-L22C675B310CUSTC675D002 which is also showing that this firmware is not approved for installation in its check firmware access. Also its downloading but there is no option for "send to updater", instead there is download update.zip which I know can be flashed with the updater. But as this is not approved for installation there's something buggy because of which it is not approved...that's the reason I don't want to try this...
Same here, I'm from India and yet to receive an update. Don't want to do via firmware finder, again because of the same reason as yours.

For send to updater you need to enable proxy for installing then the option to send to updater
And the Hisuite show the update is official i have also install the update throught firmware finder
Those of you who wanna install the update through Firmware Finder.. go to settings in Firmware Finder and enable proxy. It'll ask you to download another proxy app. Do that. You should be able to send the update to the updater app and then use WiFi .. modify the network in your saved WiFi by setting proxy to 8080. The update should appear in the updater and you are good to go.
Last day of may, still no update here in the uk

Honor 8 will not download update

My Honor 8 (previously rooted, now unrooted) will no longer download or find updates. I have tried using the Firmware Finder DNS method, which I managed to update to B406 easily through, but it comes up with a "Download failed" error for B407 on my phone. What should I do?

406 is the latest approved update.
Just wait untill 407 is approved for installation, for now it's not. You can check in firmware Finder app

Yes, Always Check If Firmware Is Approved In Firmware Finder By Clicking That Check That Availability Button, If Not, You Will Get An Error When Updating With It. B407 Is Not Approved Yet.

GMS firmware update

Hello masters!
I successfully installed GMS on my P40 Pro by downgrading it to v10.1.0.131. Do we have a way to upgrade firmware version while GMS is installed?
Thank you.
By using the built in system updater
I have tried to update since I'm on. 131 version.
I checked on the built in updater and it says that I'm up to date, installed Hi suit on my PC and it says that I'm on the latest version.
I am on March security patch. Downloaded Firmware Finder but I don't know which one to select.
I have the ELS-NX9 build number. 131 and C636. How do I know which one to select
I have the same model and had no issues upgrading via built in system updater
hello bobman
just to double check, are you pertaining to the system update which can be found on settings then systems & updates?
Thank you.

Which firmware should I install from FF? Latest avaible in FF or 10.1.0.270?
Search about your phone model, LIO-LGRP2 or LIO-LGRP4 (I don't know what model you have); once you know the model, search latest update, FullOTA (almost 4-5Gb).
Thanks. I will try this.
Be sure you choose the corect firmware, for exactly your phone model.
Right model, latest update, FullOTA.
Follow exactly the steps you need to do, from the presentation of HiSuite proxy method.
