I don't think it's the best way to replace your speaker button manually. If you have a warranty try to request to Sony for fix your phone. If you try to fix manually your home button, you can lost your waterproofing protection in the phone (IP 68).

Hello,
I had fun with a magnet to my z5, and I noticed that in the past the bottom of the left display caused an interruption of the screen without ability to unlock
this is the normal functioning for the use of a case ?
Yes my sony slim case have magnet in it.
And it touches the spot you mentioned.

Many thanks !

The design looks like 2 speakers but it's only one in the right, and the left is the mic.
When you turn the phone crosswise, the earpiece turns as a stereo speaker.

Hi guys,
I accidentally got some liquid in the bottom speaker of my mate 9.
The sound is now distorted and muffeld. I tried to clean out the grill and it seems as though I've pierced the protective cover on the speaker grill.
Help please.
Was using my phone for a bit then plugged it in and that shadow appeared at the base of my screen...Any ideas?
Looks like water damage to me
Agree, it looks like water has infiltrated your phone
Wasn't near any water though, at all literally been in my bed then at my desk for the last 2 weeks doing exams! Hasn't been submerged or even spilled coffee
What about sweat ? May be ?
I really don't know then sorry
It is water.. The water is under the lcd..
U can try few methods for drying them.. Just search in google 'water tint on lcd' or something like that.
I have this mark also at the bottom left of my screen. And I cant get it out.
Last resort is to open the lcd and remove the water manually..

So sent phone back to Sony for warranty repair. They ended up replacing screen, bezel, power button and ear piece. Must have been a manufacture issue.
Hi guys, at work today my phone fell on stone.. Cracked the upper half of the screen which now is not functioning anymore, so i only have my bottom half to navigate my phone with. Obviously not optimal and want to replace the screen. What's the best way to do this? And maybe also cheapest way..
I used to have Tempered glass on it but that one cracked in my pocket a few weeks ago..
Forget about cheap replacing
Did you try turning it off and on again? Sorry i had to haha. Also dont buy **** cheap panzer glass, pay a bit more, for 10€ you can get undestructable panzer glass that wont break in pocket no matter what you do
Im sorry , but screen replacement is not an easy task to do.. I tried on my xperia z and it wasn't success.
Because taking off the screen and putting in the new screen in the right position is not that simple..
And replacing the screen at a shop will cost not little..
Maybe you can buy the new screen online and ask any shop to put it in ur phone for u.
Therefore I think it will cost less

Try to use your warranty with Sony, but the price is expansive
I just recognised that on the right side of my screen I can easily stick my fingernail into the gap - but not on the left side. I recognised this because I wondered why there is dirt in the gap on the right.
Is this "normal" or an issue?

Pic please. Really dunno what you mean.
No, it's not normal. Clearly they didn't assemble the phone correctly. I would return it and get a replacement.

I'll go the other way and say this is likely normal, but it depends on how significant of a gap we are talking. I posted the same issue on Reddit concerning a gap at the north-end of my phone. It's bigger than all the rest of the gaps and causes dust build-up. You can't really tell there is dust/grime in the gap unless you are in bright sunlight -- in which case, the dust appears gray/white.
The gaps on the other sides are tight. On the backside of the phone, I have a larger gap on the right side, but no the other sides.
Anyway, many people chimed in and this seems to be a normal issue, at least to an extent. The glass doesn't fit into the frame with microscopic precision, so you'll have a gap somewhere along the frame. The extent of the gap is what should inform your decision to return. For me, the gap on the top of the face of my phone is only big enough to fit in a single sheet of paper. But, even that will allow dust in. If your entire fingernail is fitting, that seems a bit too big for me. My fingernail is about the thickness of 3 sheets of paper.

I just called my provider and they will check the phone. I am okay with the gap if it doesn't affect IP68, otherwise I hope they replace it.
