Can I Root And Flash custom recovery without PC on GALAXY S6? - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If I root My s6(SM-G920I) with Kingoroot.
Then flash twrp custom recovery through flashify app.
Will the custom recovery flash or not ?

If you can gain root access, you can flash recovery via Flashify
But there's no way to root without PC.

[Q] Can I obtain Root on the stock ROM and keep over the air updates?

if so can anyone point out a tutorial?
Hello,
If your stock with only a custom recovery, you will need to download the OTA zip file and flash it via custom recovery.
However, if you have a custom kernel/mods installed then you will need flash the stock images and then flash the OTA zip via recovery.
Yes
You'll get the official OTA updates as long as you have the stock ROM(even if it is rooted) and Recovery.
But you may lose the root after the update.

You need to flash the SuperSU zip via recovery to have root access. Flashing supersu doesn't wipe your device's configuration or files. Unlocking the bootloader wipes it!
Use Helium to backup your apps when you're unrooted. Once you have root access, I would recommend using Titanium Backup!

the bootloader has to be unlocked to flash/boot to twrp/cwm, which is required for root.

I think you should head over to general section and read the Stickies first before tinkering with your device!
This is the flow...:
1. Unlock the bootloader (Wipes everything off the phone)
2. Flash custom recovery
3. Flash SuperSU.
Hoorah! You're rooted!
Rooting
And if your not sure how to root your phone i would really read up on it first or you may brick it,untill your sure you can do it.......If it aint bust dont fix it

rooting problem!!!

after updating my note pro SM-P901, any root file does not working. when ever trying to root al time my device is bricked. then I have to flash again the stock rom. after flashing stock I am able to root my SM-P901 but when I am trying to update first then I am totally unable to root.
is there any way to root SM-P901 latest firmware?

How are you trying to root? the best way is to flash root again is by using TWRP. Good luck. :fingers-crossed: The TWRP thread has methods on how to do this.

Kingroot, iroot,root360,vroot,kingoroot not root my YU 5010

Hi guys kindly help me to root my YU 5010 using terminal emulator or apk , plz thank you

You can't use rooting apps like Kingroot or other to root YU5010. You have to root your device manually i.e. unlock bootloader first, flash custom recovery (TWRP recovery is recommended) and at last flash SuperSU.zip.
