Hey friend, im new in this forum. I have a phone Galaxy J500G with build number J500GXXU1A0J1.
I want to flash custom recovery TWRP from @CTXz in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-twrp-2-8-7-0-samsung-galaxy-j5-t3219901
I folllow instruction, OEM unlocking i set enable in Developer Option.
And i flash via odin and success, but when i get into a Recovery Mode, the Recovery is still in Stock Recovery.
Why?

Using flashify must be root? My phone its not root, I want rooting my phone after twrp flash to my phone using superuser.zip.
Because i have read if rooted by e53 file from chainfire cannot be flash Exsposed, it's true @CTXz?

In developper option i have OEM Unlocking set enable, but when in download mode "Secure Download" still enable
Update:
I have success flash twrp after i flash stock rom to downgrade AOG4. I hope you will be find a problem why in AOJ1 cannot flash twrp. Thx

[Q] Rooting without changing recovery

I want to root the phone but keep the stock CM 11s and the stock recovery so OTAs continue to work. fastboot boot recovery.img doesn't seem to work any more and the towel root vulnerability is fixed in CM. Suggestions?
thats not the right fastboot command to flash a new recovery, but you dont need a different recovery to root.

Can the OPO be rooted from stock recovery?
I've not seen the stock recovery yet, but does it have CWM functions in it?

no. but thats if you choose the recovery root method. root consists of two parts, a su binary that gives normal users full device write control, and a superuser app that allows android apps to use the su binary. when you use recovery to root, it just flashes these two files to the system partition and you have root. its a failsafe method, but requires you to use a custom recovery that lets you flash whatever you want to the phone. since ota updates use the stock recovery to update, if you replace the stock recovery you cant install ota updates. there are other methods that use fastboot and adb usb debugging exploits to copy the root binary to system, but i havent looked into what works. i planned to do that after i get my oneplus.
i used cf-auto-root on my brothers nexus 5. it keeps stock recovery in place, and uses fastboot to root. ota updates still work after that. however you loose root everytime you update because it wipes and flashes a new system partition. not that big a deal, you just reroot after updates. it would do that whether or not you were to replace recovery. the only way around that is to use a prerooted rom that would include root in the system image. cyanogenmod has their own superuser app thats just not included in this rom so they can get google certification. i imagine they have some way to get it installed easily.
I just did the fastboot boot recovery.img and flashed SuperSU fine...

Just flash the newest OTA in your custom recovery.
It will overwrite your recovery with stock recovery however.

already tried.
It asks me if i wanna install an untrusted zip file.
I say yes
and it says unable to verify.
aborted
If you're on a custom recovery + root, then I'm assuming you're no stranger to adb and fastboot commands. You can download the full update (not incremental) from here , unzip, and use the flash-all.sh (or .bat if you're in windows) to flash the full update. You can then flash your custom recovery and superSU after it. You'll probably want to backup your stuff before you do this!
If you're on custom recovery + root because your friend did it for you, go ask your friend! =P

Root S6 latest firmware?

Greetings.. I have problem rooting latest firmware g920fxxs4dpge. Is there any working root method? I wanna flash custom rom to improve battery life. Cf Auto root cause error in Odin. Thank you
Flash the latest TWRP recovery onto your phone and install supersu from the recovery.
I think there isn't stable supersu.zip file for my firmware.

It's universal;
http://download.chainfire.eu/969/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.76-20160630161323.zip
Yes, ok... but after flash twrp trough Odin .11, process pass but remain stock recovery on smartphone.
I think that problem is locked bootloader. How to check it if is it locked or unlocked?
This device uses dm-verity!
This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab.

You can boot twrp without flashing and then flash root
https://forum.xda-developers.com/no...w-to-unlock-bootloader-nokia-3-t3699344/page2
Check post #15 by @SkaboXD
But when i flash twrp recovery then i go to recovery and ask for password i cancel it then ask for system modifications I'm confused so i dont give permission to twrp for system modifications then i flash magisk zip then wipe cache of dalvik cache and reboot then its stuck in bootloop

You said you wanted root, you were supposed to use the process to get root not flash magisk. I thought you had a method of installing magisk after getting root. I thought you were going to boot twrp recovery, not flash it, since you said you didn't want twrp.
Unfortunately you're going to have to flash stock with OST.
Check this link for more information:

yeah now i got twrp but only come when boot from fastboot commands and i want magisk how can i get it?

I have never actually used magisk. I thought you had a way of installing/flashing magisk once you had root
I try installing magisk by flashing magisk zip from twrp but got bootloop

Might I ask: what do you need magisk for?
Also in that recovery I got errors like can't Mount and some kind of encryption error and it say's I have to format data
Need magisk for root and modules as also I want all updates properly installed means i want to in stock recovery

In my opinion, only use the recovery for flashing stuff, don't mount anything other than sdcard, don't unlock. Maybe when there is a more compatible version of twrp ...

Well i don't know about the modules, but when I flashed stock firmware with OST (first time I flashed recovery my phone was stuck in twrp) then flashed root and xposed, I was still able to install updates. The stock firmware I installed was 7.0, but now i'm on the most recent update. So unless there are some specific modules that you need from magisk, I think you can stick with the regular root.
On the other hand you can continue to experiment with magisk, maybe you will find something that we don't know yet and get it working. But remember, if you want to flash anything, don't format with twrp at all, just leave everything readonly and flash
I'm not able to go to recovery by buttons. Only by fastboot command why is that?
What the hell is this i just try to go to recovery by buttons it works but I'm on stock recovery but i flashed twrp then i format data did formatting data did something to recovery? Or is it that i have to use fastboot command to go to twrp recovery? Where the hell is that recovery?

I don't know; the process of flashing recovery on HMD's nokias isn't yet fully developed, people have complained about flashing recovery but still not booting into it. Personally I would recommend that you use stock recovery and use fastboot to boot into twrp instead of actually flashing twrp whenever you want to flash anything. That way you are still able to install system update
But for installing magisk every where written that flash magisk zip from twrp but i got bootloop

Have you flashed stock firmware with OST? Can you boot normally now? If not, do that, then update ti the current android version using OTA. After that boot into twrp (whether you chose to flash twrp or just boot twrp is up to you). Do a backup then try flashing magisk again, maybe it will work this time
Yeah i already flashed stock rom with ost and already update to latest version i think magisk is not supported in Nokia 3

Hello mate, you can't root nokia 3 with Magisk. Why? Because noone never send boot img to dev! So only option to root it is Chainfire SuperUser 2.79v.
Ok brother but i have a question if i root and then remove some system apps then can I safely install updates?
