Greetings.. I have problem rooting latest firmware g920fxxs4dpge. Is there any working root method? I wanna flash custom rom to improve battery life. Cf Auto root cause error in Odin. Thank you
Flash the latest TWRP recovery onto your phone and install supersu from the recovery.
I think there isn't stable supersu.zip file for my firmware.

It's universal;

Yes, ok... but after flash twrp trough Odin .11, process pass but remain stock recovery on smartphone.
I think that problem is locked bootloader. How to check it if is it locked or unlocked?
This device uses dm-verity!
This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab.

Hi
I just unlocked my bootloader, so what do I do know for rooting?
I don't really care about my DRM keys and I unlocked, so I did not need to do all that downgrade, flash, root, update firmware again and so.
So how do I root now?
Thanks in advance

Find one of the kernels repacked with built-in recovery - It needs to be one that matches whatever build you've got running in /system
Flash it with fastboot
Flash the latest SuperSU flashable ZIP in recovery

Hello all,
I am receiving tomorrow my new Samsung S6 and i want to know some things.
- Unlocking bootloader (how to and link?) - have searched a bit and you need ODIN. but what is the best version etc
- Installing TWRP3.0 (how-to) - where to find the latest TWRP for samsung s6
And than one of the most important question, is there a stock android that doesent have any buys and fc's????
Bootloader is not locked on S6 (except AT&T variant)
You can get latest ODIN from here;
http://dl.sammobile.com/Odin3_v3.10.7.zip
If you want to install TWRP on it;
1- Update it to Marsmallow if you haven't
2- Install this TWRP via ODIN;
http://arter97.com/browse/S6/kernel/13.1/g920fi/arter97-recovery-g920fi-13.1-twrp_3.0.2-0.tar.md5
3- Boot up to TWRP and flash this ZIP before do anything on TWRP;

Wouldn't this order make more sense so he had a backup in case something goes wrong?
Also, here are the threads for TWRP and SuperSU for the S6 on XDA:

No, and there probably won't be any for a long time, but there are lots of TouchWiz-based custom ROMs.
so basicly i dont need any customezation? because you telling me there will not be released a custom stock rom? Even a CM13 rom
thats poor services!

Correct. The only custom ROMs availability now and the foreseeable future are based on TouchWiz, not AOSP Android or CyanogenMod.

He need dm-verity disabled boot image for working TWRP backups. That's why I suggest him to install this ZIP.
While reading topics on the internet (google)
If you THE smartphone update to 6.0 you do not need to unlock the bootloader. is this correct?
For now i will not use TWRP because there isent a proper ROM for the S6. is this because the exynoss CPU? because QSD cpu's have always the better support for CM..

As I said before, there's no bootloader unlock because bootloader is factory-unlocked on Samsung devices.
If you want root, you should to use TWRP for install the latest SuperSU.
Yes, there's no CM ROM for Exynos 7420 right now. Maybe in future? Who knows...
is there a twrp that works because the original twrp that i download form twrp.me isent working getting a weird issue: recovery is not seandroid enforcing

i tried to install it, used the AP method in Odin.
But when i want to go in TWRP recovery i get the stock recovery! How to solve this issue
I'm having this issue as well on the T-Mobile variant. I have tried the unchecking auto reboot option in Odin and manually going to recovery. When I successfully flash according to Odin, I can't not get past the Recovery is not Seandroid enforcing boot.

Always need root just to install custom roms . If we can install roms without root , then we don't need root anymore ( I am still lost ). Now I can wait for custom 6.1 roms.
Its not ideal but at least you dont have to go through the whole reroot process each time you want to change roms. And you can still flash zips etc in safestrap.

Can we run and use apps which require ROOT access?
I'm a bit confused though. Don't custom ROMs come pre-rooted???? So wouldn't flashing a custom ROM which is pre-rooted....... remain rooted?

You cannot have a rooted MM rom with locked bootloader because to have root requires a custom kernel which locked bootloaders cannot flash. It doesnt matter if the rom is prerooted or not! Stock Boot.img means no root. You cannot run apps that require root with these roms All this method does if give you some options the biggest option being the ability to flash zips. and change roms with out having to odin back to stock pb1 then reroot then. Try the stock MM rom I posted. Once installed you can flash a debloatzip or a knox removal zip or delete apps from safestrap with the built in file manager If you dont like you can always downgrade back to PB1

@jrkruse How does this work?
Based on my knowledge from reading this, it seems that the kernel finds the checksum of the system partition and then only boots if it is unmodified.
Shouldn't modifying the system partition in the slightest bit throw this checksum off?
Also - modified kernels CAN be flashed on locked bootloaders - just not via Odin. They only won't boot though >.>

Will this method work with FF? Haven't used SS since my SG4 days.

I got one to try. I have tried it so I know it works
Download this rom
Download my Patch
In safestrap do a manual wipe. Wipe Data,WipeCache,Wipe System
Install Rom
Install patch
This rom Does not flash system.img so you dont need to install safestrap it will stay installed
After patch is installed wipe data and wipe cache and install MM Bootloader zip
Reboot it will take 15 to 20 min to boot
Now you will Have A Note 5 port with working theme support

hey what can i do im on the MM firmware but i flashed something and now my phone just stays at the samsung logo with a blue led light what can i do it wont but up past the samsung logo screen
Howdy everyone-
I'm currently rooted with Android 5.0, PD1 firmware, and "unlocked" bootloader. I want to go to 6.0/PF1 and remain rooted. I've read muniz_ri's thread, but I want to make sure I'm understanding everything. I'm worried I'm not interpreting the instructions for "unlocked" phones correctly.
- If my bootloader is already "unlocked", all I need to do is wipe from within Recovery and then flash one of the two rooted ROMs, provided in the thread yes? I don't need to flash the G900V_PF4_Bootloader or anything else after, right?
- Is there anything wrong with using FlashFire to flash the rooted ROM?
-
No, you need to match bootloader and rom as same level, mm rom needs mm bootloader , lp rom needs lp bootloader. So in bootloader unlock method will install unlocked mm bootloader, and then flash mm rom as your choice

Technically yes, but please follow exactly same procedure as 1st Easiest,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...t/rd-unlocking-galaxys-s5-bootloader-t3337909
Download and install VZW_BPB1_ODEX_DEODEX_V9.zip by TWRP or other Flashing tool

In Odin Under AP slot load G900V_Firmware_PB1.tar.md5
Now in Odin Under PIT load S5_KLTE_USA_VZW.pit If you have a 32gb phone instead of 16gb phone skip this step
Click Start

If not In Odin Under AP slot load G900V_Firmware_PB1.tar.md5
Now in Odin Under PIT load S5_KLTE_USA_VZW.pit If you have a 32gb phone instead of 16gb phone skip this step

If current binary is official reboot phone Setup Rom.
There is no need to setup any accounts unless you plan on running this rom
Download and install Bootloader_Unlock_Safestrap.apk
Open Safestrap app and install the safestrap recovery to the system
Open safetrap app and click Reboot To Recovery Button
Flash: (Choose 1 Whatever One You Choose Is The Firmware And Bootloader Version You Will Be On)

I'm using Magisk (latest version). The easiest and convenient way to root your phone though, you still need to use a custom recovery (TWRP) to root using Magisk and indirectly, your bootloader still needs to be unlocked (if you haven't manage to flash a custom recovery on your phone yet).
Are you using a custom recovery (TWRP) for your phone right now @Tanvir/?
