[UNBRICK][ACER][A1-830]Guide on how to unbrick this thing (ALL STOCK ROM FILES HERE) - General Questions and Answers

Seems like some of us have been trying to get out of the bootloop. Well, I posted a video about it (here) and most people in the comments have not been able to solve their issue due to the "magi" or what ever issue, but don't worry! I'm here to help! I will post all of the firmwares and how to flash them, so keep reading!
Kitkat (4.4.2) firmwares
- IMG- FLASHABLE BY FASTBOOT
- ZIP - FLASHABLE BY RECOVERY
JellyBean (4.2.2)
- IMG - FLASHABLE BY FASTBOOT
- ZIP - FLASHABLE BY RECOVERY
INSTRUCTIONS:
For flashable zips, download the zip file for the Android version you want and put it on a Micro SD Card. No, usb OTG won't work because the tablet looks in the "/mnt/sdcard" directory and there ain't no OTG capabilities there. Switch of the tablet and put the SD Card in. Boot into recovery by holding the power button and volume up. In the recovery, use the volume buttons to select and the power button to confirm. Select "wipe data/factory reset" and hit the power button and wait. This might take a while. Once it's done, select the "wipe cache" option, note, you tablet might reboot or do some other stuff, just ignore whatever it does and continue. Now, just hit update via external storage and select the zip file and hit the power button. Make sure you don't rename the zip file, otherwise you're going to get a signature verification error. Wait for it to complete and then wipe the data/factory reset again and reboot into system!
Common errors
You get an error that doesn't let you through the updating process:
To fix this, choose another firmware zip file and update (or perhaps downgrade) to that instead. After that, you repeat the steps but with your desired firmware.
You get an error while updating, but the update still continues
This won't affect anything Just ignore and continue following the steps.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For img's, download and install the desired img file you want. Make sure you got adb and fastboot installed (there are tutorials over the whole internet) and extract the 7z file in the adb/fastboot folder. Make sure you DO NOT extract the system.img.gz, it is supposed to be flashed in its state. Now you can basically follow my video steps. Don't forget to reboot after flashing fastboot
Common errors
Invalid sparse file format at header magi
To fix: Flash 4.2.2 instead, and if you still want 4.4.2, flash the 4.4.2 zip via recovery.
Leave a thanks if I helped you and if you run into issues, reply

[Q] Super Noob Help! Cold Boot Screen aid

Hello,
I'm a mega noob. Now that's out of the way I posted a question on tomshardware about a broken tablet. I was directed here when ASUS replied to my question. They said to hold the Power Button and the Volume Down button, if I got there then upload the firmware. I don't know the middle part though! So I see a screen with three options. The first one says "RCK", the second one is the Android Logo with the Android name below, finally there's a box with an arrow coming out pointing at a little android guy and the words "Wipe Data". What should I select, what should I do next?
It is running Android 4.2.1 stock, never unlocked
The tablet was working just fine until one day it got stuck on the loading screen and stayed at the screen. If I can fix it, It's mine!
Thank You,
Fast replies are appreciated.
First off, what is your problem? Also, whatever you do, DO NOT SELECT "WIPE DATA" OR YOU WILL BRICK!!!
Is your bootloader unlocked?
Edit
I updated the my Post with more information.

I suggest downloading the firmware from Asus website and downloading the correct firmware. Take care as there are two different versions of the tablet TF300T and TF300G. Once you have downloaded the firmware place it on your SD card. Reboot into the three icon screen and press RCK menu and install/flash the downloaded firmware. If you would like to unlock and root the tablet then I can help you with that too.:good:
Yes you can try the above method to re-flash the stock firmware, however once you have downloaded the firmware zip before you put it on your microSD you will need to unzip this firmware zip and you will find a second zip inside - and this is the zip file that you need to put on your microSD card.
As stated above you can then boot to your bootloader screen and select the RCK which on stock will boot to the stock recovery which will be a green android which should then show a blue progress bar under the green android - let it complete and then the tab should reboot and be all good.
If it does not work you will see the android laying on it's back with chest open - if this is the case you can try the fastboot method to flash the system blob which seems to work even with a locked bootloader - link to my how-to can be found in my sig below, if you need help with any steps just let me know.

So I need to unzip the file from ASUS.com when it's on the MicroSD before or after? Do I put the file on the internal or on an external SD Card? What is the zip file in the zip file called? Thank You, you guys have brought me one step closer to ending this thing.

I usually download the firmware to the PC first as sometimes these tablets seem to have issues downloading large files.
Which firmware version are you wanting flash/install?
When you download the firmware it will be called, depending on which firmware version - TF300T-WW_epad-10_6_1_15_3-UpdateLauncher.zip
Unzip this to a folder and inside you will find another zip called WW_epad-user-10.6.1.15.3.zip - Copy this zip file to your microSD.
With microSD in tab reboot to bootloader - hold vol- & power - In bootloader menu "vol-" is to move between what icon is highlighted.
"vol+" is to select/execute what is highlighted.
Highlight the "RCK" icon and select.
The tablet should now boot to the stock recovery which should a black screen with a green android with a blue progress bar underneath. This should take between 5-10 minutes to complete and then the tablet should reboot. If so the tablet should boot up to the setup wizard to setup the tab, Done. :good:
If this is not the case and you get a green android laying on it's back with it chest open and I think a red explanation icon it has not worked. I would then try the fastboot method of flashing the system blob. Have a look at my how-to in the sig below for details on this method, you will also need fastboot installed on the pc first - Installing android sdk and updating it to the android version your wanting to flash should also install fastboot and adb drivers.
If the first method does not work and you need help with the second just let me know.

adb push c:\flash_image /sdcard/
adb push c:\recovery.img /sdcard/
adb shell

cp /sdcard/flash_image /system/bin
cd /system/bin

Agree, but didn't get time to improve over it. Hope to start it soon... Meanwhile, you are free to fork and modify the code as per your requirement. Please update if you get it working fine.
@trivalent the main problem I think is the reset time, once it took 1 hour for. We now have custom ROMs for our device, so wipe data is now more impotent. Try to fix this when you'll got time

Well i guess if you follow it step by step there won't be any problem. If you get stuck at some point just comment here. And installing adb is just like the normal installation of any setup files in windows.Regarding the flashing of twrp there is nothing much to do than the steps mentioned above. If you still need a video go for this.https://youtu.be/kmq2Eyzl3wA NOTE:This video makes use of files for the sd410 model,so don't use the files in that video.Get the files from this post. This video can make you familiarize the process, but steps mentioned here is slightly different.

When I searched for solution, they said it was because my storage is encryted that I was'nt able to acces the data. They adviced to format data through wipe option in TWRP. But still no use. And to add to the problem, when I tried to reboot into system, I was left with a black screen and couln't get to the homescreen.
Please consider my problem and hoping for your fast reply.

Boot back into twrp home screen - WIPE- FORMAT DATA , after that, also from twrp , REBOOT-RECOVERY, after that, go ahead and flash the root file and then try to boot into home screen.
Place the root file on an external sd card.

Thank for your fast reply. By following your steps, I was successful in rooting the phone but when rebooting back to home screen, the black screen's still there.

I guess you have copied the super su file to external sd card.Formatting data as mentioned by jide1 did remove the encryption for me.If it doesn't work do advanced wipe with only the data, cache and dalvik cache boxes checked.Note:don't check any other box. Then reboot into twrp.Go to mount in twrp and see that your external sd is mounted. Now access the external sd card in install option and you will find the files of super su.
How to get into twrp recovery?

Flash twrp again ,disconnect usb cable from pc, then press and HOLD "volume down" AND "power button" when device vibrates, RELEASE "power button" WHILE still holding "volume down" , that should do the job.
Need stock boot.img
I require the stock boot.img so if anyone is kind enough to upload it, ill be greatful. Or if anyone knows how to extract it from the raw image, that'd also be appreciated.

Download the official firmware from Asus website and unpack the zip file, and you'll see the boot.img file there.

Swipe Elite max : Unlock Bootloader,Unofficial TWRP, Rooting and Stock reflash.

IMPORTANT UPDATE : I have observed that when mounting system R/w device restarts. It means that even after rooting successfully, system is blocking the app. So rooting will not be complete as of now, till further corrections. Rest of the operations are normal, quick reboot apps work properly. and device works normally. So please bear with me.
Freinds , this thread is basically for what the title suggests. After a long time I was able to do it.
I'll update as required, so be patient. and keep watching.
1. Unlock Bootloader
a. Boot device in bootloader from adb in cmd terminal. (To go in fastboot mode, press power and volume down button ).
Please enter these commands, one at a time.
Code:
adb devices
(this will show your device)
adb reboot-bootloader
( device will reboot to bootloader). Then enter this...
fastboot devices
(this will show your device)
fastboot oem unlock-go
( If it shows already unlocked, go to twrp flash. If it is not, It will ask for erasing data, so backup all your data. This will unlock your bootloader.)
2. Flash TWRP
In fastboot mode: continue.......
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
(Flash the image I have provided)
You can also try
fastboot boot twrp.img
( to try this image file, if you are scared of bricking the phone.)
3. Flash patched boot.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
(Flash the image I have provided. This is necessary as otherwise the su zip may not work )
4. Rooting
Please copy the SuperSu zip file to your micro sd card. Now boot to Twrp recovery. My advice is to backup of your system and boot. Then wipe data, dalvik-cache,cache, Internal storage. (Sometimes, format option is required.)
Now flash this zip.
If there are errors anywhere, please tell me and I shall try to correct them.

2. Twrp_3.1.0.1 added on 11/6/2018, Removed Old Twrp link.
3. Twrp_3.1.0.1 Link updated on 13.6.2018.
4. Twrp_3.1.0.1 Link updated on 9.7.2019. Removed Old Twrp 3.1.0.1 link.

2. TWRP_3.1.0.1_unofficial_SwipeEliteMax : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1n-DfHwC4_WRn_Jlr5FosOb6lW827M5ho
Remember first thing before rooting, do a backup of system and boot.img. Rest is your choice.
2. SuperSu zip: http://www.supersu.com/download Or you can download from anywhere on the net.
3. Patched Boot : Link
Stock Reflash and subsequent Update:
1. Stock Version V12 Reflash :
Remember , boot takes 5-10 mins to come on. So don't panic when device doesn't boot.
If the need arises due to any reason device hangs in logo, first restore only boot which you backed up. If still no change, restore system also.
But if you want to flash stock version , then read ahead.
The FOTA zip did not work for me from adb sideload. So I will recommend the QFIL download.
1. Download Stock Rom and Qualcomm downloader from here
Extract the zip. Install the drivers.
2. QFIL install : Download and install Qualcomm downloader.
It should look like the image in attachments
1. If it shows Flat Build / Meta Build, choose Flat Build.
2. Click "browse" and select "prog_emmc_firehose_8937_lite.mbn" , in the Extracted Stock rom folder
3. Click Load XML and select "rawprogram_unsparse.xml" in the Extracted Stock rom folder.
4. Click Load Patch and select "patch0.xml" in the Extracted Stock rom folder.
5. Click Download. If device is in adb mode, no problem, it will go in download mode automatically.
If it is not, just connect and shutdown device . While it is shutting down, it will connect automatically andf flash will begin.
Do not disconnect while process is on. Be patient.
2. Update to V15 :
After Stock reflash, the update to V15 comes immediately after connecting to internet.
Just incase someone wants to flash it offline , here is the process and file.
1. Recovery Method : Place gobi zip in adb folder . Go to stock recovery. Press Volume up and Power button. Once in recovery, choose "update from adb" .
Enter the following command in cmd console :
Code:
adb sideload update-gobi.zip.
Downloads : Update zip for Version Update from V12 to V15. Link

Glad to hear that. I don't have any information about specific roms for swipe but we may have to port any aosp or lineage roms for our chipset (msm8937). Once I'm free, I'll get to search that. ....

I have ported an AOSP for Redmi 3s. But it has flaws,(wifi, etc.) will take time. Also, I have removed all unwanted apps from the stock. So it is now smaller.
Sorry repeated msg

Actually, AOSP and lineage Os ,both are ported successfully. But there are some flaws. Time is a major factor.
Also, I think Our Rom is better than these roms. From twrp I removed all useless apps. So memory has increased a bit.
So, i think instead of marshmallow I should try Nougat or Oreo if possible. Of course time is an enemy . Just hope.

Hi. This is a very late reply . Sorry for that.
To enable volte, you have to go to
Settings>More>Cellular networks.
Here, you have to enable/On Enhanced 4G Lte mode.
But, you have to remember, few things. Our phone has only one 4g and one 2g slot. You can use any slot for 4g. The other will automatically turn to 2g. This happens when you choose data for that sim.
Another problem you will face if you have the other sim of JIO. It works only in 4g. So if you awnt volte /4g on Airtel and other sim is Jio, you will have no network on Jio as it does not work in 2g/3g.
For Imei , just google SN / IMEI writing softwares from the net. But mind you enter the right IMEIs, as you mind land in trouble if non-matching one is written.
What base band file do you want ? The firmware folder ?
