Well i guess if you follow it step by step there won't be any problem. If you get stuck at some point just comment here. And installing adb is just like the normal installation of any setup files in windows.Regarding the flashing of twrp there is nothing much to do than the steps mentioned above. If you still need a video go for this.https://youtu.be/kmq2Eyzl3wA NOTE:This video makes use of files for the sd410 model,so don't use the files in that video.Get the files from this post. This video can make you familiarize the process, but steps mentioned here is slightly different.

There aren't any custom roms available till now.Try using xposed modules for improved functionality(serves the purpose of custom rom to great extent).

Internal Storage Files Missing
After I flashed TWRP and then entered it, it asked for a password to decrypt my storage. I didnt set any password for my phone so I pressed cancel after which came the TWRP menu. But once I selected the install option so as to flash the supersu file, I was unable to find my zip file in it. When I searched for solution, they said it was because my storage is encryted that I was'nt able to acces the data. They adviced to format data through wipe option in TWRP. But still no use. And to add to the problem, when I tried to reboot into system, I was left with a black screen and couln't get to the homescreen.
Please consider my problem and hoping for your fast reply.

Boot back into twrp home screen - WIPE- FORMAT DATA , after that, also from twrp , REBOOT-RECOVERY, after that, go ahead and flash the root file and then try to boot into home screen.

Place the root file on an external sd card.

Thank for your fast reply. By following your steps, I was successful in rooting the phone but when rebooting back to home screen, the black screen's still there.

I guess you have copied the super su file to external sd card.Formatting data as mentioned by jide1 did remove the encryption for me.If it doesn't work do advanced wipe with only the data, cache and dalvik cache boxes checked.Note:don't check any other box. Then reboot into twrp.Go to mount in twrp and see that your external sd is mounted. Now access the external sd card in install option and you will find the files of super su.

Flash twrp again ,disconnect usb cable from pc, then press and HOLD "volume down" AND "power button" when device vibrates, RELEASE "power button" WHILE still holding "volume down" , that should do the job.

Need stock boot.img
I require the stock boot.img so if anyone is kind enough to upload it, ill be greatful. Or if anyone knows how to extract it from the raw image, that'd also be appreciated.

[GUIDE][STEPbySTEP] Root/unroot BLU Pure XL (and clones)

Totally new guide! Simple step by step toutorial
It took us a while to get root on our devices. Hopefully we did it! Now we can enjoy benefits of having rooted device (like Xposed Modules etc). We have working TWRP recovery which allows us to backup your phone, flash SuperSU binaries, mods and custom ROMs (actually we are working on it). First: read whole post, then download necessary files and read it again. This guide will allow you to root your BLU Pure XL/Allview X2 Soul Xtreme/Gionee Elife E8/Condor Allure A100 and other clones I don't know.
If you don't know what is 'root' & TWRP nor understand the whole idea of rooting your phone this post (or even most of the XDA community) is not for you! Read everything carefully.

I don't know where are you wrong...!
Maybe you say something else? Maybe give me some logcat?
I would help you if I knew the problem. As for now for me you don't have any problem. Your post is useless in this form.
You have to learn how to tell the error/problem/bug before you post anything on any forum.
If you want me to help you solving this situation send me private message or edit your post and tell the problem in the right form*, please.
Cheers,
bemolx
*Right form looks like:
What's the problem?
Did you check whole thread before posting?
If possible give me logcat/shown error
Make sure you read main post carefully
What you will need to get it working:
ADB and Fastboot drivers
SuperSU flashable zip archive
TWRP Recovery image
PC & your phone
BUT!
Code:
Your warranty is now void.
Everything you're doing with your devices is on your own!
We're not responsible for any damage on your phone!
If you don't understand what's root it's good time to STOP!
Now we're starting!
Look carefully on files you need (I've mentioned them above) and scroll down for download links. Download every file we need.
Note:
At the bottom of this post you'll find two versions of TWRP: 3.1.0-x and 2.8.6.0. Let me explain the difference:
TWRP v3.1.0-x: this version has been compiled from scratch & made by me. It is the newest available recovery version at the moment and without bugs. More info in the thread linked below.
TWRP v2.8.6.0: this version has been ported from Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 & made by @acheron1502. It's not the newest but working one. It has some little bugs. More info in the thread linked below.
I suggest you to download v3.1.0-x because it will get further support by me. But it is your choice now.
Setting up our workstation
I hope you have already downloaded everything we need.
On your Desktop create a new folder (for example "root").
Find package with ADB drivers, open it and extract to the "root" folder.
Now find TWRP image and place it also in our "root" folder. This image should look like this:
Code:
twrp-3.1.0-0-x2xtreme.img
or
Code:
BLU_PURE_XL_TWRP.img
Let's rename it like this (see below) to make our rooting process easier
Code:
twrp.img
Now we're setting up your phone
Open 'Settings' application. Scroll down to 'About phone'. Click about seven times on 'Build number'. You should see: "You are now developer".
Now find 'Developer options', then 'Enable USB Debugging' and simply enable it.
Connect your phone to the PC. On PC: find SuperSU.zip and copy it on your phone.
OMG!!! Flashing!!!
Okay... That's the most important step.
Turn off your phone. Press 'power' & 'vol +' together. This key combo should boot up your phone into stock recovery mode.
Scroll down using 'vol -' to 'Reboot bootloader' and confirm pressing 'power'. This will boot your phone into Fastboot mode.
On PC: open "root" folder. Open Command Prompt here (LShift + right mouse click -> 'open cmd here')
In the Command Prompt type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
This command will flash TWRP recovery on you phone.
After flashing process is done reboot you phone into TWRP by pressing 'vol +' and 'power'. When you see bootlogo get your finger from the 'power' button. You will see TWRP logo. You can unplug USB cable now.
We're almost here!
Now you should see TWRP main page same like in the screenshots I've attached to this post.
We must flash SuperSU binaries to get rooted phone. To do this press 'Install' button.
You should see list of files/folders on your phone. Navigate to the SU.zip and choose it by clicking on it.
TWRP will ask you for permission to flash that zip package. To allow it to do so swipe to the right slider on the bottom of the screen. Now SuperSU is installing.
After installation process is done press 'Reboot system now' button. Your device will reboot into your system.
Done!!!
And there you go! Your device should be now rooted with TWRP recovery installed. Check if your phone is rooted correctly by installing ROOT Checker. To make rebooting process much easier and faster you can download Quick Reboot.
Xposed Modules
There's an option to install Xposed Modules as I mentioned at the top of this post. Not every module is working but you can try it and let us know what's working.
To get it working you need:
Xposed Installer Alpha App (allows you to download and manage modules)
Xposed SDK zip (the most important thing)
Original thread with those files is linked below.
Note:
It's important what version of SDK you are downloading. Our device has 64-bit ARM MediaTek chipset so it is arm64 and it's running lollipop 5.1 ROM which equals sdk22. By that meaning the SDK zip you should download looks pretty much the same like this:
Code:
xposed-v80-sdk22-arm64.zip
Installing
Place both files on your phone's storage and reboot to recovery. Press 'Install' and navigate to sdk.zip. Choose it, confirm installation - when it's done reboot into system. Now use any file browser and find XposedInstaller.apk and install it.
Now you can download any module you want. Further instructions in post linked below.
How to unroot
Most of you would like to flash stock OTA etc.
To do this you have to have stock recovery installed.
First open SuperSU app, then scroll down and look for 'Clear/unroot' option. Choose it and follow on-screen instructions.
Then download stock recovery image (downloads for Elife E8 and Allure A100 will be available when someone provide me a link). Place it the 'root' folder (or just in the same directory with fastboot drivers etc.). Rename downloaded file into recovery.img.
Method 1 - using Fastboot
Reboot phone into bootloader mode. Open terminal in the 'root' folder and type
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Now reboot into system by pressing power button for a while.
Method 2 - using TWRP
Copy downloaded recovery onto your phone's storage. Reboot phone into recovery mode. Press 'Install', then change from installing zips to installing imgs (bottom right button). Navigate to downloaded recovery file and choose it. Confirm installation. After that reboot into system.
You should be now unrooted and able to flash OTA.

TWRP Recovery: TWRP v3.1.0-0 (recomended) or TWRP v2.8.6.0 (unofficial)

Hey @bemolx ,
Since your thread is more of a HOW TO root, would it be OK if you move this into GENERAL and field all the rooting process questions there?
I will start a new Dev Thread for TWRP and all TWRP related development issues.
You can then use that new thread for all your download links.
EDIT:
Please use this link for TWRP in your guide.

My friends and me figured out how to get root on our phones. By the way @acheron1502 made TWRP recovery which allows us flash Super SU 2.46 (Stable). Also you can flash Xposed Modules as you want.
HOW TO INSTALL:
Connect phone to your PC
Make sure you have adb and fastboot drivers installed
Download TWRP from this post
Download Super SU
Copy SU.zip to your phone's storage
Reboot phone into fastboot/bootloader mode
Flash recovery using: fastboot flash "downloadedrecoveryfilename"
Reboot to TWRP by pressing and holding Vol+ & power buttons (still in fastboot mode!)
In TWRP flash SU.zip, then reboot

Let's keep the development thread about this phone (Blu Pure XL) and other phones with the exact same base maker/model (ie. Gionee E8, Allview x2 Extreme). If you are asking about gaining root for a different phone and need some Mind-share from this group of people due to the other phone having a similar SOC, the best way is to open a new thread in the Q&A Section or the General Section, but I think you should wait until the phone is released first IMHO.

Guys,

2) Please provide more CLEAR / ACCURATE details on how to do this, because NOOBs (including myself) get very confused.
a) Link to adb / fastboot drives. Saying "they are in Google development section means nothing"
b) How do I "Reboot phone into fastboot/bootloader mode"??
This would help so many people root without bricking the phone.
Thank you once again!

Read OP carefully. You need to format data partition completly first time and need to patch boot img via lazy flasher.
Showing 0mb bcz it is encrypted. You can use memory card.
If you want root then go for magisk root till recovery updated.
OK, now I removed the encryption, installed magisk and the root worked but when I try to install busybox and some other apps it doesn't work. When I try to install supersu zip it doesn't work (extracting ramdisk failure aborting) , isn't there any way to install supersu in order to get apps working correctly?

which busybox your trying and what error.
currently supersu have some error with new devices. which version you tried it should be 2.82 or above.
I downloaded SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip
Busybox pro 61

Use busybox form playstore stericson.
I downloaded both free and pro versions of stericson's busybox and neither of them worked.
Also I downloaded supersu 2.82 and it also didn't work.
Finally the Touch is updated and working now.
I enabled touch in kernel which is disabled for recovery partition.

System is encrypted.
Use magiskmanager beta 14.5 or flash lazyflasher via twrp then one time you need to wipe data partition.
Always remember when you flash orignal boot.img you need to flash lazyflasher or magisk otherwise your system will become encrypted again.
Thank you, now touch is working perfectly <3

you can use ndk busybox from magisk app there is option download module.
But currently there is problem with module with this phone. the data partition is in F2FS format and its kernel is not handling f2fs properly.
TWO option for use magisk module.
1. wait for kernel update via infinix. or
2. format data partition as Ext4 from twrp.
Super su does not work correctly with f2fs currently.
But when I format data partition it resets my phone

Swipe Elite max : Unlock Bootloader,Unofficial TWRP, Rooting and Stock reflash.

IMPORTANT UPDATE : I have observed that when mounting system R/w device restarts. It means that even after rooting successfully, system is blocking the app. So rooting will not be complete as of now, till further corrections. Rest of the operations are normal, quick reboot apps work properly. and device works normally. So please bear with me.
Freinds , this thread is basically for what the title suggests. After a long time I was able to do it.
I'll update as required, so be patient. and keep watching.
1. Unlock Bootloader
a. Boot device in bootloader from adb in cmd terminal. (To go in fastboot mode, press power and volume down button ).
Please enter these commands, one at a time.
Code:
adb devices
(this will show your device)
adb reboot-bootloader
( device will reboot to bootloader). Then enter this...
fastboot devices
(this will show your device)
fastboot oem unlock-go
( If it shows already unlocked, go to twrp flash. If it is not, It will ask for erasing data, so backup all your data. This will unlock your bootloader.)
2. Flash TWRP
In fastboot mode: continue.......
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
(Flash the image I have provided)
You can also try
fastboot boot twrp.img
( to try this image file, if you are scared of bricking the phone.)
3. Flash patched boot.
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
(Flash the image I have provided. This is necessary as otherwise the su zip may not work )
4. Rooting
Please copy the SuperSu zip file to your micro sd card. Now boot to Twrp recovery. My advice is to backup of your system and boot. Then wipe data, dalvik-cache,cache, Internal storage. (Sometimes, format option is required.)
Now flash this zip.
If there are errors anywhere, please tell me and I shall try to correct them.
Updates :

Remember first thing before rooting, do a backup of system and boot.img. Rest is your choice.
2. SuperSu zip: http://www.supersu.com/download Or you can download from anywhere on the net.
3. Patched Boot : Link
Stock Reflash and subsequent Update:
1. Stock Version V12 Reflash :
Remember , boot takes 5-10 mins to come on. So don't panic when device doesn't boot.
If the need arises due to any reason device hangs in logo, first restore only boot which you backed up. If still no change, restore system also.
But if you want to flash stock version , then read ahead.
The FOTA zip did not work for me from adb sideload. So I will recommend the QFIL download.
1. Download Stock Rom and Qualcomm downloader from here
Extract the zip. Install the drivers.
2. QFIL install : Download and install Qualcomm downloader.
It should look like the image in attachments
1. If it shows Flat Build / Meta Build, choose Flat Build.
2. Click "browse" and select "prog_emmc_firehose_8937_lite.mbn" , in the Extracted Stock rom folder
3. Click Load XML and select "rawprogram_unsparse.xml" in the Extracted Stock rom folder.
4. Click Load Patch and select "patch0.xml" in the Extracted Stock rom folder.
5. Click Download. If device is in adb mode, no problem, it will go in download mode automatically.
If it is not, just connect and shutdown device . While it is shutting down, it will connect automatically andf flash will begin.
Do not disconnect while process is on. Be patient.
2. Update to V15 :
After Stock reflash, the update to V15 comes immediately after connecting to internet.
Just incase someone wants to flash it offline , here is the process and file.
1. Recovery Method : Place gobi zip in adb folder . Go to stock recovery. Press Volume up and Power button. Once in recovery, choose "update from adb" .
Enter the following command in cmd console :
Code:
adb sideload update-gobi.zip.
Downloads : Update zip for Version Update from V12 to V15. Link

Actually, AOSP and lineage Os ,both are ported successfully. But there are some flaws. Time is a major factor.
Also, I think Our Rom is better than these roms. From twrp I removed all useless apps. So memory has increased a bit.
So, i think instead of marshmallow I should try Nougat or Oreo if possible. Of course time is an enemy . Just hope.

Hi. This is a very late reply . Sorry for that.
To enable volte, you have to go to
Settings>More>Cellular networks.
Here, you have to enable/On Enhanced 4G Lte mode.
But, you have to remember, few things. Our phone has only one 4g and one 2g slot. You can use any slot for 4g. The other will automatically turn to 2g. This happens when you choose data for that sim.
Another problem you will face if you have the other sim of JIO. It works only in 4g. So if you awnt volte /4g on Airtel and other sim is Jio, you will have no network on Jio as it does not work in 2g/3g.
For Imei , just google SN / IMEI writing softwares from the net. But mind you enter the right IMEIs, as you mind land in trouble if non-matching one is written.
What base band file do you want ? The firmware folder ?

[guide] Blu Vivo XL4 | | Vivo Xi || Vivo Xi+

The BLU VIVO XL4 has arived.
Sorry this guide is not for very new users, it relies on certain amount of prior knowledge.
**NOTE**
Unlocking Bootloader WILL set warranty flag to "NO"
Make the read-back backup, BEFORE unlocking, so there is a possibility to restore warranty to "yes"
Getting SPFlash Tool to work on BLU VIVO XL4
I used sp flash tool version 5.18.28
Needs custom DA file and Auth file. Both have been found from a near clone device.
Open flash tool select the DA file and Auth file from the link below.
add the scatter file from archive. There is a preloader file in the archive also. This is needed for spflash tool to open the Auth file.
Stock Rom and Auth file
Then follow the guide found on youtube.
Not planning to go into too much detail about the actual pulling of the firmware, as there is already
a fantastic guide with step-by-step photos and also a video.
Just the basics
Pull stock rom with spflash tool once just from the "boot region" to get the preloader file.
Process that file with the Wwr_MTK tool to get partition table information.
And one more time pull as one large binary file from the "user region" then split it into
individual images using the tool called "Wwr_MTK" it can be found on other site(Hovatek). I cannot put a
link as it is against forum rules (no advertising other forums)
But there is a youtube video that describes the process. And gives link for download of the tool.
**NOTE-1**
The Wwr_MTK tool did not have the correct chip (mt6762 In fact the "family class" for the chip is mt6765) as an option. Because of this you will need to add it to the tool before using it. Open the downloaded zip.( I used "WwR_MTK_2.40_Eng" ). Open "Template.ini" with text editing software, in the section labeled "CPU" add "MT6765 2" , keep same format as the rest of the file. Save the changes and close Template.ini.
Now when you run the tool, you will be able to create the scatter file as you split the rom into files.
**NOTE-2**
The tool connects to internet and downloads fresh the files and scripts when you start it. There is a 30 second ad screen displayed. If you block internet to the tool, then the add screen turns into 2 minute wait screen. I am not suggesting that you hack the tool to by-pass it, just letting you know what to expect.
IT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO MAKE YOUR OWN FULL BACKUP BEFORE PERFORMING THESE STEPS
AFTER YOU HAVE MADE FULL BACKUPS
Now to start modifying
DOWNLOAD
UNLOCK BOOTLOADER
unlocking bootloader is no more complicated then then enabling OEM unlock toggle in dev options menu.
Then performing Command in terminal. Just like so many android devices.
Unlock Bootloader
1. Enable Developer options on phone:
open settings--> "about device"--> click build number 5-7 times--> go back one screen in settings
-->select more "more settings" --> scroll to bottom "Develpoer options" --> enable "usb debugging"
2. Open cmd or power shell terminal
3. reboot phone to bootloader with the following commands
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
4.Once the phone has finished loading into fastboot mode type this command
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
I also did --MIGHT be an optional step
Code:
fastboot flashing unlock
Do not think both were needed.
After each command when phone was rebooted,
it took extra time to open. But did not show the normal recovery screen while
it did the factory reset. But a reset did happen both times,
as I had the setup wizard each time.
Even after unlocking bootloader, doing a "fastboot boot *xyz.img" (boot or recovery test images)
Phone would only cycle to off then do a full reboot. Doing "fastboot flash boot boot.img" does flash the boot.
And "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" does flash the recovery.
TWRP
1. Download TWRP From Link above
2. Enable Developer options on phone:
open settings--> "about device"--> click build number 5-7 times--> go back one screen in settings
-->select "more settings" --> scroll to bottom "Develpoer options" --> enable "usb debugging"
3. Open cmd or power shell terminal
4. reboot phone to bootloader with the following commands
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
5. Now give the command to flash twrp, assuming you downloaded the file to default download folder
Code:
fastboot flash recovery %userprofile%\downloads\TWRP-3_2_3-1020-OMFG-mod_b6-device-name-vivo-wipe-misc.img
5. Reboot to twrp. Needed to boot directly to twrp, or stock recovery will be re-flashed by phone.
Code:
fastboot oem reboot-recovery
Once inside twrp It is asking for password to unlock (decrypt)***automatic decrypt not work on this device as of YET***
this is supposed to be same password used to unlock phone.
Because this twrp does not work with encryption, every time you reboot you will have to select language, if changed from default.
To get recovery to be functional, you need to make phone patched for both "DM-Verity" and "Force-encryption"
I do this with
"Universal Disabler"
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389
There is similar utiliy built into this Recovery image.
to use the built in option , Select ADVANCED, Then RM Forceencrypt
This will flash the lazypatcher with options set to remove encryption both in boot.img and /vender/*fstab : remove dm-verity.
--OR-- manually do the following steps
Steps
1. Download Zip from Link above.
2. Open TWRP
3. Open Wipe menu
4. Select format /data
5. Key in "YES" and swipe
6. Return to Home Page of TWRP
7. Choose reboot menu then recovery
8. Recovery should now have access to Internal memory (temp for now)
9. Use abd push to put the zip file downloaded above to internal memory
Code:
adb push %userprofile%\downloads\Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_12.16.2018.zip /sdcard/
10. Select install menu , and install the Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt_12.16.2018.zip
Do not rename the file. It installs and makes the patch base on the file name.
If you want to have root also, then flash Magisk at this point.
Now the dm-verity and force encryption are off. You can flash gsi custom rom, if you desire. At the moment, I have only been able to boot the phone with working cell data and calls on the PHH-Phusion --vanilla builds. Do not know why the gapps versions do not allow rill to function.
As of the writing of this I have put up V4 of the TWRP port. This version uses the correct mount points for this phone, not the ones from the source of the port. Also corrected the device name in default.prop, to match device name. Build fingerprint has been left as is. Fixed the micro sdcard name and OTG names. Added mipe to the "misc" /"para" partition to escape a factory reset recovery loop that [uu]could[/u] happen under certain situations.
And my prefered ported recovery from LRTeam TWRP-3_2_3-1020-OMFG-mod_b6-device-name-vivo-wipe-misc.img.

After seeing that the Blu vivo xl4 requires an "auth file" in order to flash with spflash tool, I asked BLU to supply the file.
They responded with a big fat NO.
.......
.......
THE NEXT DAY THE FILE WAS POSTED ON A DIFFERENT THREAD.
SO THERE HELP WAS NO LONGER NEEDED.
Just made successfull readback on preloader. and currently reading full rom.
will post link when done.
here is auth file and DA file I used.
pulled firmware is here.
there are more images in complete firmware, but the ones included should be enough , as long as you NEVER do format all from spflash tool.
STOCK ROM
So far all attempts to load twrp have failed.
Also just tried to flash boot.img with the built kernel. When rebooted, phone just stayed on black screen. No back-light , nothing.
Just a repeating connect disconnect sound from pc. Long pressing power and trying to get into the bootloader menu failed.
Was able to Que up sp flash tool and keep holding the volume down button , on the next time it cycled on off preloader was caught and i was able to flash back the correct boot.img.
Working version is available now

My streak with SP Flash is still a losing one, the auth file works for my phone as well (Blu Vivo XI+), I just used the preloader.img that was in the update.zip and ran it through the WwR MTK Tool and got the preloader.bin to go with the auth file as you indicated you had done, that was one hurdle that your post helped me solve, but for some reason when I start reading the full rom I get about 6-10 MB into it and then it disconnects from my phone and stops. Not sure if its driver related or what, which drivers did you use for the readback?

To be honest I have not installed driver specific for this. I have vcomm drivers installed, same from couple years ago.
Is the readback stopping because you set wrong hex address length in the readback tab?

No, I got the readback of the EMMC_USER just fine and ran it through the WwR MTK tool and it gave me the hex address to use for the full rom readback, t then told me
Code:
The file size is smaller than the start position of the LK (uboot). To determine the type of processor and memory, it is necessary to read the full firmware in the SP Flash Tool, specify the parameters for reading: Start address: 0x0, Lenght: 0x1D1EC00000.
So I entered those two addresses as EMMC_USER readback. If my phone is off and I just connect it to the usb without holding any keys it gives me another error.....and I'm an idiot. just figured it out as I was looking at logs, apparently I must have changed the usb speed in sp flash which changes it's pid causing it to try and read from another port. It's downloading now
Thanks to @hanuma there is now a material themed twrp port.
The V2 version loads. But has no adb or mtp access

******EDIT*****
Most of the following problems did not repeat in same way when I tried to repeat the install process.
Main issue was with simcard. But exact process to get installed and working is still not known.
-- install after already having rooted, encryption removed stock, seems to work.
-- fresh full stock rom, full encryption, then gsi seems to not work sim card.
PHH-treble gsi images do boot this device. I do not have a bug list as yet.
working:WITH encryption removed:
1. wifi
2. camera
3. fingerprint- unlock
4. music
5. video
NOT working :WITH encyyption removed:
1. cell signal
2. cell data
3. phone
4. sms
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
working:WITH encryption enabled
1. phone
2. sms
NOT working:WITH encryption enabled
1.. everything else
EDIT
Much of the force closing problems were from a corrupted external sdcard. When I removed the card , the force close messages did not come.
Getting 4G data connection was not stable. after a full reset and rom re-install I was not able to get data connection, and only able to have connection to make calls when set to 3G connection only.
some bugs in vendor I assume will need some help solving this.
EDIT 2
Finally got around to trying again. his time I started with vanilla version of phh-treble gsi.
4G data and sms, calls in out all work. Camera , video both work.
WiFi tethering did not work.
Setup that worked :
force encryption removed with universal dm-verity patcher, ( bothboot.img and vendor partitions both edited).
magisk patched boot

It should. I have been working with few users with Xi+ it works for them. And another user of Xi provided a twrp port, but no details on if this read-back worked. It must have, I suppose it must have.
Please do try to do the readback for your self, and share the files. will help with twrp if I can
Guide has been revised.
The original guide suggests to format /data and patch device to remove force encryption. This works fine for stock rom, and modifying stock rom. But I have found that removing encryption will not allow the phone to work as a phone when flashed with GSI. The down side is, at the moment, there is no twrp that is working to read the encrypted /data.

No, you need fastboot(PC preogram) to unlock bootloader and either sp flash tool or fastboot to flash recovery.

I just did this, and it worked the first time. I got into the phone and set it up. But it was super laggy after a while. So I decided to reset the phone like how you would normally do to fix a problem, and now... it’s making me boot into the recovery each and every time I try and boot into the system... i installed the gsi rom "PixelExperience for AOnly" at max lees site

dont panic. this is minor bug. Easiest way to solve is to flash stock recovery. and do factory reset from there.
You can install image from twrp or fastboot, even spflashtool.
It is from the flag that is set into para(misc) partition.
You can clear it manually with terminal also, or even use one of the othe rtwrp images I shared. One with "misc" in the file name.
If you use one of those recoveries and do reset will also clear that reboot condition

[Solved] Several unsuccessful attempts to root Ulefone armor 3WT.

I've been trying to root my Ulefone armor 3WT for about a year now and still haven't gotten anywhere.
Here is how far I've gotten so far (with issues);
1. Fastboot commands - Cannot do fastboot commands in CMD, correct drivers are installed. Fastboot in CMD cannot find the device when the phone boots into fastboot mode. I can use ADB just fine.
2. The MediaTek flash tool - Cannot find a proper .scatter file to flash to the phone, nor can I create one.
People seem to be having lots of luck with number one, but I cannot figure out how they're getting fastboot to work in CMD.
Would like some help from anyone that has rooted this type of phone, or just any suggestions to help me with this thing.
Solved, (by radiomean-uk) follow this guide:

Instructions:
1. Flash recovery.img via spflashtool or platformtools.
2. Boot to TWRP.
Touchscreen is not working properly in TWRP on our gadgets. You need to use OTG cable and mouse. Skip enter password form. Default language is russian so you can choose your in options.
3. Install disable force encryption and magisk (if you need root) via TWRP.
4. Boot to system. Enjoy.

For anyone following these are the steps i did (assuming you unlocked bootloader already):
1. Copy both zips to external sd as internal storage wont work at first
2. adb reboot bootloader
3. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
4. unplug usb and hold power button until screen turns off
5. let go of power button, count to 2, press and hold power button and volume up together until screen turns back on
6. let go of power button when screen turns on but keep holding volume up until you see TWRP screen
7. as above post said, cancel password and swipe to enter main menu and then one square above the bottom right to enter the language menu
8. flash both zips from external sd card
9. format data (not wipe but format to get rid of encryption) - i rebooted after flashing the zips and had to go back to recovery again to format the data !THIS DOES A FACTORY RESET!
10. reboot to system this will cause it to be set up as new
11. reboot to recovery again, this time there should be no password and in install you should be able to see internal storage of the phone
12. flash magisk / anything else you want

You need a linux terminal or a linux system to use fastboot commands!! I found that the hard way...
I don't use sp flash tool so idk about the other question

have you run the 15 sec adb fastboot installers?
maybe you can try powershell also https://github.com/PowerShell/powershell/releases
you need to add .\ in front of commands though.

To get fastboot working requires the "Android USB Driver" suitable to your phone is properly installed, too.

Yeah, I forgot to say I have the manufacture's driver installed.
Then it might be fastboot didn't get inplemented by OEM/carrier because they want their own tools to get used, for example MTK Flash Tool and /or SP Flash Tool. Who knows that for sure? Me not.

Well. Fastboot works. But how do I get this thing rooted now?
I've flashed the phone with two recovery.img files so far. It doesn't seem to root it or change anything.

I just received my Ulefone Armor 3 and started customization. (http://ulefone.com/products/armor3/features.html) So far I have came upon several issues, some of which you'll find below: 1) I have searched everywhere for a TWRP port and root...

This seems promising, this is the only image I've found that got TWRP installed. Although, It looks like the touch screen will not work in the TRWP recovery mode. I'll have to try to find a USB-C male to USB-A female adapter for a mouse.

So, I'm stuck here. I'm unable to get those .zip files to my phone. I've tried doing the SDcard like you said, twrp doesn't list it anywhere. (Maybe it only accepts a particular SDcard format?)
I have also tried an ADB Sideload which just gets stuck on 0% when transferring a file. Both on Linux Ubuntu, and Windows 10.
A flash drive or any USB storage isn't really an option as I have to use it for a mouse.
You need a usb hub so you can plug in a mouse and a flash drive - TWRP is a bit shaky!
Put the zip files on the (external) usb drive and you will be fine...

To my surprise, I found a USB hub, however, I'm unable to find the USB drive. Where exactly do I find it?
I've looked through Select Storage, And Mount.
With some research, I've found that the USB is supposed to be under OTG. But it doesn't let me select it... So, I guess I'm SOL?
EDIT: With my stupidity at fault. I never checked if the USB drive had a secure connection... I didn't, I now reseated it properly and am now installing what is needed.
