4g LTE for SM-J700H? - Samsung Galaxy J7 Questions & Answers

I have this 2016 J7 which I bought from Boost Mobile but which I use with t-mobile US
I am now informed by Samsung was intended for the South American market which supposedly doesnt have 4G or lte?
Is there any way of flashing some ROM which can let me use these features please?
The device doesnt seem to have updated itself since August, if it did then. The kernel version is Fri July 29th as is the SE fpr android status. Security patch level is August 1st 2016
Who provides updates to the OS and if anyone can develop some Nougat upgrade, will 4g lte become enabled or is this some hardware glitsch specifically with the J00H?
OR: Is 33g the reason why I can get 3-4 days of battery life out of an octa-core?

Yes, to your last question ?

Yes I had seen that but didn't know whether all SM700s have the same hardware and different ROMs

You can manually check for updates through settings. Or look for the latest Rom for device and region and flash it using Odin.

But if the only OS updates for an HSPDA device I can get become immediately available in the US through settings, is there any advantage in installing Odin? Is there likely to be any way of installing nougat any sooner through Odin?
Don't get me wrong, I have been flashing since my first 8125 but I upgrade my phone rarely enough and am a bit underwhelmed by Samsung selling me a brand new model J7 which arguably doesn' t do that much more than my old S3!

Welcome to the midrange! ?
Uncle Sammy doesn't always synchronize the updates, even when it's a multi region update. So you could flash an official update early, before it even appears in your settings.

Samsung S7 model SM-930FD - how to enable Samsung Pay / Westpac Tap and Pay Australia

I live in Sydney and have a new Samsung Galaxy S7 Duos, model no. SM-930FD, shipped from Hong Kong. Android 6.0.1, baseband version G930FXXU1APB6.
My previous unlocked S6, purchased in Australia, happily supported the Tap and Pay feature in the Westpac Bank app, which is enabled by Samsung Pay.
Unfortunately Westpac Tap and Pay is not supported on the SM-930FD model, as apparently Westpac limits the feature to certain firmware versions.
Am keen to figure out if I can update the firmware version to the same as the single SIM, SM-930FD model sold in Australia, which the Westpac mobile app does support?
Will that firmware version support dual SIM?
Have been doing the research.
I'm thinking to flash the phone with SM-G930F XSA firmware
I guess I might lose the Dual SIM feature, but that's ok.
Any comments gratefully received..
let me know how this works out... the only thing I am waiting for to buy my 935F is samsung pay... I refuse to use the USA carrier versions
The problem is how we flash the rom without triping KNOX? Will the Exynos SOC work flawlessly with a firmware used on the Snapdragon SO?

Can you use the drivers for an AMD chipset to run the hardware on an Intel-based motherboard? Same problem, same answer.
^^ That's what I was implying
Even I wish if this was available to my country but alas not even google pay/wallet nor any other similar app is working.
I downloaded the apk manually and tried to run it but would not go beyond the fingerprint/pin recognition screen.
I got it working pass that screen but only with a pin. I can't add any cards tho, it wont connect to the server

920T June 7 update? G920TUES4DPF1

Anyone got the G920TUES4DPF1 (6.0.1) update over the weekend for their US factory unlocked 920T? I havent seen anything about it on XDA? Is it just a security update?

Is Nougat 7.0 expected this month for 930t

As title states ...Google browsing don't seem to say anywhere even tho tmobile HTC m10 got 7.0
Is 7.0 official expected to be rolled out anytime soon even within this month for our phones ?
Any credible sources?
Just a bit tired of running the vzw version of 7.0 on my 930t
Sent from my SM-G930V using XDA-Developers Legacy app
It is suppose to drops this month but there was a talk of Samsung skipping the 7.0 version of Nougat and going straight to 7.1.1. If that really is the case, expect if before the 20th of January and if it's 7.0, sometime this week.
Any way possible that since metro runs on tmobile that the ota expected ... is proprietary or gonna be givin for metro s7 as well.. I have that model but I Odin flashed..tmobile stock on it when I got it.
So I can get the tmobile 7.0 as well if I want
But...
I'm also seriously having hard time finding metro version of latest 6.0.1 to revert back.
The few links I found on here failed to flash.
I' notice if you try sammobile the g930ti on sammobile version don't boot to a metro firmware it still is tmobile.

Stock update Galaxy S8 SM-G950U ATT (Snapdragon version)

A friend brought me an S8-G950U Snapdragon version and I do not have the ability to get an att chip to update de firmware because I live in Argentina. I´m on G950USQUAQGL (August 1, 2017) and de software provider says ATT/ATT/ATT. Is there any way to update the firmware including Oreo?
I'm sorry but the more I read the more I get confused.

I don't see any ATT ROMs for the S8 SM-G950U listed in SamMobile. However, I do see ATT ROMs under SM-G950U1. But isn't the U1 the unlocked USA version of the S8?

Did you even find any ROMS for the S8 SM-G950U? I'm having the same issue with not seeing any AT&T options on SamMobile.
I'm facing same problem too. ATT does not release its stock firmwares quite often. However find below May,2018 patch wity Oreo. Waiting for such stock firmware for Pie.

Hi guys you can flash any firmware G950U from Sam mobile it work because these are multi csc.
Tested in my unlocked s8 G950U.
Sam Mobile seems to have disabled their free download option (possibly in maintenance). Anyone has a link the latest Pie stock with July 1 patch level (AT&T) and can share please?
I think the OP (and myself) looking for this one - https://www.att.com/devicehowto/tut...59?make=Samsung&model=SamsungG955U&gsi=x6lhdu
Edit:
1. Here is the Samsung Fan Club link to the latest (G950USQS6DSG4, as of 8/18) AT&T ROM (free fast download) - contains T-Mo User data, use the one from below

S9 plus not receiving OTA after moving to another country

Hi,
I used to live in US and got an S9 plus from AT&T. I moved to India (in July 2018), got it unlocked by getting the unlock code and procedure legitimately from AT&T. Put a Vodafone India sim card. It works fine since but I have not received a single update since. Last update is June 2018.
In sw information Service Provider SW version shows
SAOMC_SM-G965U_OYN_ATT_OO_0073
.......
ATT/ATT/ATT
As I use this phone for work, our company mobile management tools prevent the use of rooted phones. How can I start receiving official OTA updates without tempering with the legit status of the device.
Thanks.

Because Vodafone does not offer updates for your model number. The carrier controls the updates and which devices are supported via update. Your device is not a Vodafone device, it is an AT&T device being used on the Vodafone network. If the original AT&T US stock firmware version is working fine, you should be able to download any updates that are available for your specific model number and then flash them manually.

Thank you for the answer. What will be the legitimacy status of the device after that? How do I flash manually an update? Do I need to use Odin or similar, since Samsung tools look at the CSC?
Thanks for your help!

Yes, use Odin. Find the updated firmware, just make sure it is for your specific model number and your region/carrier.
