Hey guys,
So as i was admiring my S7 from all angles (truly a beautiful phone) under the sunlight, i noticed something weird. Just above the front speaker grill, i noticed 2 stains in like a form of pyramide. I tried to wipe it off, but nothing. So im afraid its maybe water (since it was raining hard the past week) or i don't know, maybe humidity ? What could it be ? Its midly annoying, could it be the sign that the "waterproofing" of my phone is deficient?
take a close look
http://imgur.com/a/OMWSA
I tried differents method to try to remove it. I tried to like "sucking" it out with my mouth as i though maybe its water but nothing, i also tried to use my hairdryer and proceed to put it in front of the speaker but still nothing.
Do you think its something that could be considered serious ? should i try to repair it in a center ?
I never used it in water and i bought the phone brand new 1 month ago, case and screen protector since day 1.
Looks like the paint coating is peeling off from the front glass. This happened to my friend on her s5, and I've heard several people with s7 have the same issue.

If u have warranty, take it to samsung. It's ridiculous for a 1 month old phone to already have paint peeling off issues.
I mean, that's only estethic, it won't cause any other issues, it just looks ugly.
The paint is like a sticker that is glued on the glass, and it tends somstimes to unpeel if the glue isn't applied well.

Hi everyone
I have a problem with LED and HR monitor glass. When I removed the plastic that came with phone in a few days I noticed little scratches on the glass that cover LED and HR monitor. Its not big deal since it does not affect picture quality nor HR sensor but i came here to ask if there is any way to buy that little plastic protectors for camera and LED-HR monitor glass. Every screen protector kit that I looked does not include protectors for that.
The HR-LED was scratched on my first galaxy s6 too, i took off the plastic cover only to find a big scratch on the actual glass, you and me are not the only ones complaining about this issue.

Yes I know that this is a issue with SGS 6. Lot of posts on forums about this problem. I just wanted to know is there any way to buy that little plastic foil just to prevent further scratches and damage. Its not problem to buy some screen protector kit if thats the only way to get that little foil but I cant find anything. Even from Samsung not any help.

There might be but its very small and very specific, since so many people see it scratched they wont bother to prevent further scratching so i dont think that theres a store that manufactures such plastic, you probably have a better chance asking samsung directly but i might be wrong.
I would be more worried about the camera lens than the entire backside of the phone so i usually do something very simple, i always store my phone into a bag of double soft cloth, that way i can feel safe that the phone is protected from all directions.
Use clear nail polish.

I can't tell.... and if there isn't I don't want to pick at it and scratch it.
Nope
I just did the exact thing. eBay has the part it's easy to fix I did it. Just don't get the acrylic one. And ask before buying even if the picture looks like the OEM glass one make sure! Unless you want the acrylic one it's less prone to cracking but will scratch.

Simply being in my pocket. You'll see on the forums this is happening to a lot of people. The consensus is that LG phoned it in on the camera glass quality.

Yeh, I noticed all the glass problems, am I lucky or what, no problem for me with any problem mention in this forum about the glass built or any other stuff, and I had my G5 from day 1 after exchange it once, but I can remember the reason why I exchanged it.:fingers-crossed:
Just looking back at my camera len, I do have a deep scratch, but lucky I have a PET lens protector on, so it's only the protector that is scratched, at least I do have 3 spare one left.

Yeah I thought the same thing before I pulled the phone out of my pocket, nothing out of the ordinary had happened, and it was mysteriously broken. It's going to be like a recall if it gets really bad...
It doesn't take much pressure to brake it but it doesn't just do it on its own. This isn't the 6p being too tight around the glass and it breaking from expansion @kchannel9 just lift off what's left of your glass and peel it off no need to open the phone up. Just make sure no glass is left in it when you put the new one on. It should come with adhesive. And don't touch the lens! Cover it up if it breaks all the way it out or tape over it if it is just cracked to protect the camera! I might get the acrylic one to put over my glass replacement one now that I see how fragile it is.

It's simple to replace. Mine cracked and I ordered 2 off eBay. I had to replace it for a warranty exchange. Just use tweezers to get under the glass in the crack and peel it out. Insert the new adhesive sticker, then lay the new glass down. Takes about 5-10 minutes.

Just replaced mine, was easy. The acrylic one I got from eBay/China works fine, though there are visible lines in the acrylic, it did not seem to effect the pictures taken. If I find with more testing that it does, I will get the glass again instead, and also add a glass protector as well. But for now seems fine.
Ok nevermind, after taking some pictures in full sun it is apparent that the acrylic adds a ghostly fuzziness to the images where there once was impressively sharp clarity. Going to order the glass version and a tempered glass protector for that piece as well. Really annoying, you'd think a $700 flagship phone wouldn't have this issue.

Hi people!
For those without screen protection, how many of you with scratches on screen of the S7 flat?
No scratches on my S7
No scratches on my S5 with not even a case for almost 2 years
its not bout scratches its bout how well you take care of your phone because it comes with gorilla glass 4 so it shgould last if you take care of it.
Gorilla Glass 4 my ass. I baby my phones and have never scratched a screen until this one. Super disappointed with GG4 or Samsung's implementation...
I also take care of my phones VERY much, and can see some scratches visible on sunlight after 3 months. I never put my phone with something that can scratch it. But then again, I saw those little scratches on every phone I had. Good thing about older phones is that it wasn't so freaking hard to find a screen protector

When U live in Serbia, ordering things is a pain in the.. Neck
I have a friend that works in a larger phone accessory shop here, and he said that none of the protectors they have are full screen or that they always have bubbles.
Have U tried any? Maybe a suggestion so I know which protectors are good for ordering online.
I have a galaxy alpha with gorilla glass 4, and also have the small scratches.
These small scratches come from sand, dirt, dust that is harder than the screen and rubs against your phone in your pocket, these small scratches are unavoidable without screenprotector.
But these are small so they don't bother me, what worries me more is the back glass which is not GG4 and scratches more easy.
Hi everyone.
I've owned a Samsung Galaxy S7 SM-G930W8 Exynos edition since release date. One day around month 3 I was removing the phone from my otter box case and with the littlest bit of flexing the back glass cracked horribly. I found this to be very annoying since this is supposed to be a "prime" quality phone with gorilla glass 4. I think it was more like gurly glass 4 as I bearly flexed the phone at all and am a very caring / gentle phone user and have owned many and never cracked a case/screen ever. My question is has anyone had broken glass, front or back replaced under samsungs warranty or am I crap outta luck? I called Samsung once and they said it's not covered. Since it was not outside of proper use I feel I was fed a line. Any help or suggestions? Very dissapointed in gorilla glass 4,and Samsung for placing it all over all sides of the gs7 in a very thin manner.
Makes me rethink if I'll ever purchase another Samsung again.
Discouraged and disappointed!

Hard or rigid protectors can't cover the whole screen because the edge has a bevel. I got an anti-glare matte screen protector and it works great

Well those back panels can be bought for like 13 bucks and can be easy to replace but you will lose the waterproof tho.

Thanks for the tip!
But I don't really want a rigid protector, I mean, i have been using plastic film protectors on all my phones, because I'm very gentle with them and just want to keep them from small pocket scratches. I just need a full screen one that will go over those 2.5d edges of the glass. I also don't like those matte protectors, they totally mess up the screen quality
I had 3 years SG S4 and only one little scratch. After 3 days having S7 I have already weird "graze" (is it correct word in English?) . Is not visible when screen is clean but dirt always stay in the same place. I'm VERY disappointed. Also afraid about home button made of plastic !
My first S7 edge had a super Deep scratch right on the screen curve, stay that for awhile before it turn in a crack going across the screen.

I bought a Fosmon screen protector for both mine and my wife's S7s and they fit really well. If you apply them correctly then you won't have any bubbles. I never use the guides or anything to put it on, I just go slowly and use a credit card to smooth out bumps. Cleaning your phone screen first with alcohol and a lint free wipe cuts down on anything left on the screen to cause bubbles.

That is not at all what I was asking. My question was has anybody had this issue and had it replaced under warranty? If so what did the process entail and what was said to get it done. I appreciate your comment as to boost your standings in the forums but if your info is not some of actual help you might wanna say nothing at all and let someone else answer the issue.

Since you went hostile... You might wanna to stop being a **** and start your own thread, for your own issue, instead of hijacking this thread. You broke your phone and that isn't a warranty issue, which Samsung already explained to you. He offered you info the help you quickly & easily fix your phone for very little $.
As for screen scratches on my S7, I don't have any so far. No screen protector either. I guess it's probably nerdy, but I carry my phone in a Nite-Ize holster, on my belt, and never in my pocket. So far, I've never scratched a screen on any of my phones since the OG Droid. I had a screen protector on my OG Droid, for a few months, but that's been the only one I've used.

What's your problem? Maybe you should just STFU then if you get mad bout people helping your dumb ass. You break your own phone and come in hete crying bout warranty while this treath is about scratches on the screen. So next time calm down or dont reply
Personally if your just using it day to day you wont see any scratches on your phone especially since the Galaxy S7 has gorilla glass 4. I would recommend a screen protector or even a glass screen protector if you are the type of person who chucks around their phone and doesn't really care about it.
You should be fine using it without a screen protector
Noticed this recently. Seems like outer film is peeling off in more than one spot. Any one else experienced this and know why this happens? Cheap quality perhaps?

i too have the same problem at similar place any idea if this kind of paint failure is covered in warranty in INDIA??
I took my Frontier to the Samsung Repair Centre today and after a 10 minute inspection by one of the engineers, the customer executive came back and told me that they will not repair it because the peeling does not affect the watch's performance unless I fork out cash which I am not going to do. End of story... I am based in Hong Kong so if you have a similar issue and Samsung in your region are willing to fix your watch free of charge within the warranty period then count yourself fortunate.

In your picture, the peeling is inside of the bezel, so I don't know how it could happen?
Any strike that makes it scratched?
My guess is sweat caused it because I use my S3 for tracking my runs a lot. I'm tempted to peel it all off
Have the same.

I have 2 watches and both have the same problem. Without the dial, it looks like the gear sport. Cheap paint work.
I'm glad I got the classic after looking at the pictures. That really sucks for you guys. Samsung should do something about this.
I've worn mine for months doing everything and I've seen no peeling. I suspect this is a problem affecting a small number of watches that came out in the same production run.
Therre is a guy at reddit who go it fixed by warranty.
Give your one year old S3 a new lease of life
Managed to remove all the film around the screen using water and a scraping tool.
Looks better than the Gear Sport in my biased opinion.

Thinking of removing mine as well. because of the peeling issue. Was the film hard to remove and does it break into small pieces when trying to take the film off?

Not hard at all. Just wet it with water and use a plastic scraper. It comes off really easily since its just a fine layer of thin plastic that isn't really stuck on with adhesive. Its brittle and just flakes off as you scrape.
My ultra is now 3 months old. I have the burgundy version. Even though I’ve been particular about cleaning it there is a tiny paint chip on the camera

small permanent case markings that look like dust particles.

Still pretty much same condition as when I took it out of the box, already had the case & screen protector waiting so I didn't waste any time when it was delivered.

I was actually surprised how easy the screen has gotten a ton of small little scratches, suppose its my fault for hating screen protectors and cases, finally started using Whitestonedome screen protectors and currently using the latercase.
Surprisingly the back of my phone still looks brand new
Mine is good so far. It comes out of the case every other day and it and the case get a wipe down with a damp cloth. Then dried with a microfiber cloth before going back in the case.
If you leave the phone in the case for long periods of time, abrasive particles will get in between the phone and case and the damage begins.
Mine is doing great. I treat it like my car; I use it as designed, clean it occasionally, and do a little maintenance every so often.

I would say no. If you think of this single spot on top, it was most likely a one dust particle.

They actually look like dust particles on mine too. They might seem less pronounced given your colour though. Mine wont wipe off completely.
I have the Black one and no scratches toll now (using without case) but camera has small Spot... The white one with no paint on the shell from my friend ist perfekt till now... Think next time i go for white
Put an Otterbox on the device right away but not a screen protector. The screen is extremely prone to micro scratches which can only be seen when screen is off, or with very low backlight and dark image (I've had the device a month an already some prominent micro scratches) . Awaiting screen protectors in the mail. This is a bummer as previous versions of gorilla glass stood up better to micro scratches (never had nearly the micro scratches on my S20 which I ran for 2 years without screen protection) . Pay off I guess for having better shatter protection.
Iv been running case with a naked screen ever since I realized that every protector ive tried affects either swipe typing and more so Spen responsiveness. Thank God tmobile allows you to add insurance to phones they offer regardless if it's bought from them or 3rd parties. The phone is just way to smooth for any obstructions for me.
