hey being an xperia p user i can really vouch that it is way bettter than samsung galaxy s advance ! firstly i would like to put it that samsung has a very poor update policy in india whereas sony xperia p is getting updated to ics 4.0.4 within a week or two ! then again s advance doesnt have nfc and just a 5 mp mediocre cam !! i compared the photos of my phone with my friends s advance on my computer and sonys camera had a stunning pics ! even the super amoled display doesnt compare to my sxp white magic display ! and it has lesser ram available dan sxp ! only thing is that amsung has a gr8 service support in india !!! hope u find my reply useful
Where i live the difference of price is big,s advance is much more cheap, the battery of this phone is very good and the P one said to don't last to much.I really like S Advance!

in india the Maximum Retail Price of S advance is rs. 26999 whereas that of sony xperia P is rs.25799 !! well the pricing strategy of samsung atleast in india is always really bad ! they try to keep a whole lot of margin for the distributors, retailers !! however the best buy price of the s advance in the market is rs.22000 whereas i got my xperia p for rs.23200 that is just 5% more than s advance !! so i guess price isnt a big discrimator in our country regarding both the phones ! well i personally prefer the p but well den again like u mentioned ur phone had a better battery 200 mah more dan my phone and a expansion slot ! bdw my battery lasts me around a day on average use of somewhere about 1 and half hour of gaming and somewhere 2 hours of music and approx 1 hour of other apps !! i would like to know about s advances battery life caus my firend owning the same claimed his battery too lasted just a day !!
Basically my usage is about 2 hours of music,2 hours gamming and something close to 2 hours of internet navigation with wifi and a half hour with 3g.I only turn on data when i need, the same for wifi and gps.I never let it run totally out of baterry but i can say its lasts about 1 and a half day surely. But like you said the price is not soo different in your country, and i really like the P,so in that case i would buy a Xperia instead a SGSA.

Hi all, would appreciate if anyone can give me recommendations for a dual sim android phone.
Here are the main things I care about, more or less in order of importance:
1. Great battery life (or ok battery life with removable battery and spare battery readily available to buy)
2. Powerful/fast - lots of memory, fast processor, preferably up-to-date android OS
3. Pre-loaded with android play store and upgradeable (if I understand correctly some of the Chinese dual sim phones have issues here)
4. Decent camera & resolution
That's about it, not asking for much then
I care less about weight, thickness, screen size (although less than 4" would be a pain), funky features & bloatware etc.
I've looked at a few choices like samsung galaxy grand 2, huawei g700, htc one dual sim, but reviews seem mixed and most seem to do badly in one or more of the above.
My only experience with dual sim was the samsung galaxy grand 1, and I didn't like it because I thought the battery life was pretty bad, underpowered and screen quality surprisingly awful.
If you know of any phones that fit the bill or you're using one that you think would be good please let me know.
Thanks!
Hmm, maybe what I'm after doesn't exist.
If anyone is using a dual sim android phone please let me know your experience so I can make some choice.
Anyone using the samsung grand 2? If that's like the one with better battery life and runs smoothly might go for that
The Best SmartFone available in Its Range is Gionee Elife E6.
You can have a try at that..!
Thanks, I'll check it out

You could consider galaxy S5, or S4, or HTC Desire 816, I wouldn't recommend a no name brand even thought it might seem a deal price - specifications, notice how all got 4.2.2 Android and will probably stay that way for good, too many compromises, I know from experience..
Purchase the Videocon A24... Thats a superb phone for you.. And also for me

Lenovo vibe x2 a good looking phone with awesome specs. One doesn't find such awesome android dual sim phones in 20K price range here in india!(however i heard dual sim phones are in great demand in China)I especially like its layered design and its a killer at performance with its 2 GB ram and octacore processor. but i heard in almost all reviews of the device that its camera quality is not great,, however from reviews they also confirmed that poor camera issue can be fixed via a software update from Lenovo. also now that Lenovo has acquired Motorola from Google i guess its going to improve upon its existing models.
But here at xda there is no forum for the device.
This is one of the reasons why I am refraining from buying this phone. no professional guides for rooting and no custom roms etc.
i appreciate your advice bro. but i really need to buy ... suggest me another good phone .. please i don't
wanna regret after buying this phone in any mannner...
thanks in advance
Phone is Superb but support needed from developers at XDA.
i have been using this phone for last 6 days...! everything is perfect but i am not happy about the battery performance !
design & build quality is fine.
and the phone is super fast.
can't we use it for custom rom in future... after expiring the warranty ...?
it is not wise to buy lenovo's phone, it will be difficult to wait official update, but the UI is not beautiful.
then tell me what would be the best phone in 20k if vibe x2 is not gud...?
Go for honor 6 double sim
Here comes the Lollipop update review of Lenovo Vibe X2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YhDjUpwny0
Has anyone started to work on ROM for this phone, looking at the spec of this phone looks promising, it has a large battery capacity which is great but look at battery test for this phone it looks like stock software is not optimized, so just wondering if the community is willing to help optimize or any advise

the review of low configuration umidigi S2 you can see on Youtube
I've got the regular S2 for a couple of weeks now. It's a good phone with some downsides. Camera is not fantastic but good enough for everyday stuff. If you want amazing photos buy a flagship. Proximity sensor doesn't turn off screen properly while in a call, maybe fixed in future version. One of the major networks in Germany does not work for mobile data in most cases (O2 and Eplus joined and the phone can't handle the "data roaming").
Tech support is non existant. They will point you to their half chinese forums with barely any members that is spammed with press releases. Posting takes dozens of "money" that you must unlock with posts. Very unprofessional but maybe expected for such a relatively small company. There are no service addresses for repairs and the accessories market for that phone is very very limited. Barely any cases or screen protectors out there. If you break anything on this phone expect to get a new one. I have not tried yet but to get replacement parts for this seems near impossible at this point.
Other than that, screen is great for the resolution. Battery life is absolutely brilliant. I can get through a full day with using <40% battery and it lasts easily 3+ days on pure standby.
Wifi has become much better I think after the last firmware update. They are updating the phone but I wonder for how long. This is not a manufacturer that can or wants to support all of it's devices like big ones do.
Materials are good, maybe a bit slippery in the hands but all microblasted aluminium phones are like that.
Screen has a <1mm bezel between the side of the phone and the display surface but I don't care about that.
Build, to me, feels very good. Fingerprint sensor works well and fast. Android is 6.0.1 but I hope they will have an update to 7 or 8 at some point.
I don't care about benchmarks so I can't talk about that, my apps work well. Video streaming is fluid. No idea about 3D gaming I don't use my phone for that.
For that price it's a great phone imho.
Have just pre-ordered this device. Will wait to see what comes, hopefully able to unlock the bootloader and remove any bloatware that comes pre-installed.
It exist a custom rom for s2? I'd like
It has poor camera, other things are very good
What kind of custom could fix in it? Paranoid android?

Apparently it's possible to install TWRP on this Umidigi S2 :
https://www.getdroidtips.com/root-twrp-umidigi-s2-s2-pro/
I don't have Umidigi S2 to test but I'm very interested by the S2 Pro.
Perhaps it is possible to install Lenovo SNAPit Camera in order to improve the photos by flashing it with TWRP ? :

Does it support volt in india (to call using jio)

This post was a cut and paste from another phone.
Now the link for the custom recovery is available. I will probably give it a try just to be able to root the phone.
As of today, there is no available custom ROM available for the umidigi s2, although you can find posts on how to revert back to the stock ROM. Those posts are also just cut and pasted from other phones sharing the same cpu

I just tried that and while the recovery installs my phone wouldn't boot afterwards. Maybe because I have the main partition encrypted but maybe for another reason.
Also for me the screen was flipped 180 degrees probably due to a backwards display in this phone.

Still early days I wouldn't personally try it but I'm sure in time this phone will get Dev support , I had some feed back from umi on there FB page regarding update to 7/8 they said there waiting on MediaTek's to release source or sdk as this P20 chip was built around Android 6 at the time and the P25 around 7 that's why pro ships with 7 that's what they said , also mentioned an update coming with a week but more likely bug patch still on Jan 2017 security , not the best look on a 2017 phone 2015 os

I personally would consider it for a next phone, though I'm not sure if the TWRP image for the S2 works on the S2 pro.

Hi
Please check and correct me If I am wrong. According to UMI claimed that the first batch of S2 v1 come with non up gradable processor and hence, you can only maintain at Marshmallow version ie. Android 6 while S2 v2 (so called 2nd batch) can be upgraded to Android 7 (no idea to Android 8???). So guys, please check directly with UMI on this issue. I am thinking of getting the S2 Pro but would like UMI to confirm whether same issue with S2 v1 ???? Cheer s -

Below is the info extracted from Umidigi Forum lately .......
"Quote" They said the first batch of S2 will keep on Android 6 (there will be some updates, but nothing of update to Android 7). So the second batch of S2 and the S2 Pro will come with UMI OS Android 7. Anybody received handset with android 7.0 what date are the V2 or is that just referring to the Pro , mine is due 23/11 ordered 16/11 wondered if it will be V2 model with 7.0. Seems odd 2017 handset shipping with 2015 software .... Phone i received week ago got Android 6 so its V1. That will not work on the first v1 of Umidigi S2 sadly. It's made for MT6757D (S2 v2).
How ever there are phones out there already with MT6757 (Not MT6757D) will be on Android 7.0. "Unquote"
Hope this clear some of your thoughts. Thank you.

This is what I got the reply from UMI moderator
S2 version 1 coming with Android 6 and can't be updated to higher android version.
S2 version 2 will be coming with Umidigi OS based on Android 7. Further updates are not confirmed.
S2 pro is coming with Umidigi OS based on Android 7. Further updates are not confirmed.

Yup I like it, at the start I thought that it was too big but now it is comfortable (I have big hands anyway). I'm using Android P gsi (pixel experience) and it is awesome .
im getting the moto x4 tommorow. i got it pretty cheap for 280 euros
Oneplus 6. It's pretty good for development!
A5 2017 for Samsung reliability and the phone is great so far !
Still on Osprey coz i love it... ?
asus zenfone max pro m1
I moved on to the asus zenfone max pro m1 simply due to the low cost SD 636 and 5000 mAh battery.
The main camera is not good - no EIS and pictures come out blurry. Installed the google cam mod to improve picture quality (no root required).
If I was out to buy something now it would be the Xiaomi Poco F1 due to the SD 845 SOC at such a low price.
Still using the osprey. Have no need to upgrade just yet as phone still works and battery life still pretty solid. I'll upgrade when the battery dies out but think I would have to get the poco f1
Mi A2 lite should be here any day
Osprey will still live as hand me down, it has been a great device and still is
