Thank you guys. I will search about your suggestions. I'll hit thanks one by one for you guys.
Im with them S2 or Note
do you mean 6,000 pesos?..hmmmm samsung galaxy y is best for your budget.. you can also try acer...i forgot the model just search it on internet... it's cheaper than samsung galaxy y
I would definately choose for the SGS2!
It has a great developement section, so you can always upgrade using ROMs!
I think it is above your budget, but it gives you the highest price/quality ratio.
It has an 8 MP camera with LED flash.
Even after 7pm today, the new Galaxy is being shown, the SGS3 so the price of the SGS2 will fall by the appearing of his new brother
People expect the SGS3 will be in stores in approx. 7 days, so I should then watch the price of the SGS2!

i wish that s2 may have another brother like s4, 5, 6 and 7. So that SGS2 would go down to Php 6000 haha. Coz i want it.
Being on a tight budget, I would even recommend that you go for the Samsung Galaxy S Plus.
As I've had it for some time, I can assure you that it performs really well with the right ROM and tweaks.
Also, it currently has almost fully-working builds of CM7 and CM9, and you can expect a lot of other custom ROMs, although there were some issues in development.
sgs2 it's so popular and supported
I don't think you'll get a Galaxy Note or a Samsung Galaxy S2 for under 6000 Philippine pesos.

You don't want this. Buy a brand name Android phone.
iPhone clone Android are really dumb, because think about it: Android has home, menu (not really on ICS anymore), back, search (again, not on ICS). But the iPhone clones have a single button. So how will you navigate with that single button when you AT LEAST need back and home?

so this phone not worth ?????
The goophone i5 has a Single Hardware Button wich is mapped with the menukey function. But there are onscreen softbuttons too. So there will be no Problem in Navigation.
The specs of the i5 Sounds good for me, But i haven't test it for myself

Makes it even worse. Why have a single hardware button, along with onscreen keys, when they could just add the menu button into the navigation bar (like AOKP)? It would look awful.
@OP The phone will probably be stuck with its original firmware forever, and most market apps will list the phone as "incompatible." For its price, which I think is upper $200s or even $300+, it would be a better idea to buy a Galaxy Nexus once its price drops, or even a used S2/Gnex

230 euros = $296
At any rate, it is trying to copy the iPhone 5 so it will attain its unique resolution of 1136x640, thus making pretty much any app unsupported
Also, it's tegra 3. Good, but incredibly overrated. The Snapdragon S4 dual core is on par with tegra 3

Doubts about goophone.
Hello,
I've this phone (Goophone I5) and the goophone y5 (iphone 4s clone).
In this post i'll do a review of both.
Goophone Y5
Unboxing:
Brings earphones, iphone data cable and charger. Even the manual is the same as iphone 4s.
Look:
Looks exactly the same as iphone 4s. It has the same aluminium structure, back case in glass and retina display with 960x640 pixels as the original iphone.
It came with a micro sim slot as the iphone 4s. So, you must cut your regular sim card to fit on this phone as you do with the real one.
OS Look
It looks exactly the same as iphone 4s. It comes with an default launcher that is 99,99% the same as the iphone 4s.
All the S.O was edited to look as the iphone 4s. And to be honest i'm really impressed with their work. It's very well made.
Performance:
This is a very good phone. It is fast, it runs all the most played games with no lag at all. I was expecting it to be some kind of slow and laggy, but it isn't. It does it job very well.
But you must take a point in consideration. This is an android based software, so it will not be as fast as an iOS phone. iOS is made in objective C and android is java based. so.. iOS is faster than any android based cellphone.
Camera
It has an 5.0 MP Camera with flash. The quality is good when you take pictures at day light. Night pictures aren't that good...but as any phone you get more quality with day pictures than night.
The video recording is good. The format is 3GP but is ok. The camera recording is fast and its quite reliable.
Overview
For that people who love android (like me) i recommend you to buy this phone. It's so similar, than if you have a real iphone 4s you can replace some parts from the goophone y5 (Screen and Battery).
I got mine from thecheapchoice.com
Here is the link: http://www.thecheapchoice.com/en/smartphones/13-goophone-y5-.html
The price is around $200 USD. But it worth every penny.
I bought mine from here. They have 3 options of shipping.
- Free shipping (15 -30 days).
- Registered air mail (Tracking code: 10 - 20 days )
- DHL, EMS, Fedex (5 - 10 Days)
Payment:
They only accept Paypal. But is okay! This way you have your order secured. If you don't get it in 45 days you can ask the refund.
This website is reliable, they don't lie to you, you get what you buy and their service is also good.
Goophone I5 Lite
Unboxing
Brings earphones, iphone data cable and charger.
Look
Looks exactly the same as iphone 5. It has the same aluminium structure with only 7.6mm , back case as the iphone 5 and display with 960*540 pixels (not retina display) but it has good quality. It is very very similar to retina display, you won't see the difference.
It came with a micro sim slot as the iphone 5. So, you must cut your regular sim card to fit on this phone as you do with the real one.
OS Look
It looks exactly the same as iphone 5. It comes with an default launcher that is 99,99% the same as the iphone 5. I think that the company took the launcher from the goophone y5 and just improved it.
All the S.O was edited to look as the iphone 5. It's more iphone like than the Y5
Performance
It is really fast. It brings a dual core processor and 1GB ram so you will notice that every move you make on it will be fast.
Camera
It has an 8.0 MP Camera with flash. The quality is good.
The video recording is also good.
Overview
The phone is good, is well made, good touch screen and it's fast. And the most important thing: It is ANDROID based. It's not heavy so it don't look like a brick in your pocket.
If i recommend it? Of course. Instead of paying more than $600 USD for a iphone 5 i can have this one for more than half a price, with the same look and with a good performance.
Link of the website: http://www.thecheapchoice.com/en/sm...n-dual-core-cpu-8mp-camera-android-phone.html
For the ones who say that chinese phones don't worth it, it's because you don't know how things are. China is currently the biggest smartphones productor of the globe.
There are hundreds of different phones, brands and models. So before buying one, you must search a lot until you find the correct one.
Some phones are exactly the same apparently, but then there are many brands making it..so, inside chinese clones are clones of clones..
Before buying a Goophone I5 or another Goophone, try to look for genuine ones and not clones like thunderbird, etc.
On that website, they only sell genuine Goohphone's. So if you want to buy one i think is the right place to go.
I hope i helped you out.

Hello! I think this Galaxy S4 clone with Air Gestures named No.1 S6 is interesting. It has quad-core MT6589T 1.5GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, 5.0-inch HD IPS screen, 13.0 megapixel back camera, and reportedly compatible battery and accessories with the original Samsung Galaxy S4. View the complete specifications of the phone here: http://www.budgetandroidphones.com/no-1-s6-with-gesture-control
But the most amazing thing is it also has the so-called Air Gesture like the original S4. Here is a video of the phone:
Well, you might notice in the video that the logo was covered. It was done because of copyright issues. No.1 S6 is an exact Galaxy S4 clone that even its boot animation and UI is identical with the real thing.
This phone's performance may not completely match the genuine S4 but for a price that's just a fraction of the real thing, it's really worth considering.

All sites have this phenomenon. I bought a THL W8S black mobile phone on http://www.thlmobilestore.com/ , and after a few days, their customer service said black no goods, so I replaced the white, I agreed, but after a dozen genius shipped to me.
Well, let's not talk about the best shop to buy this phone. Let's discuss the phone itself. Anyone of you tried the No.1 S6 Plus? How is its performance? Is the Air Gesture any good?

HDC and No.1 total two different Company in china.HDC in china the company Name is huaxing, the No.1 name is ruojiayuan ,and the No.1 Never prepare to produce the No.1 S6 plus.from its phone list, the only prepare to No.1 N3.No.1 M3, No.1 5C,No.1 5S, never heard they prepare to produce a 2G RAM no.1 S6,..see the picture from No.1 Company prepare to made phone;s list.
the other phone is No.1 5S it is clone iphone 5S.don't trust fastcardtech.com 's fake inforamtions.that website always made the name by itsself.but the original factory never produce.
HDC galaxy S4 legend is the same device with No.1 S6. Ok? The only difference is the back cover. The devices are made in the same factory. Just fastcardtech and other shops give the oem device without the back cover with No.1 S6 brand name, but with place for logo stickers. No.1 just design phones and gives pattern orders to oem factory
You are wrong, total wrong,.you only head these names from fastcardtech only,in fact HDC never produce HDC galaxy s4 legend,as i know HDC company only produce HDC one, last year,it has HDC one S, HDC one X, besides these phones the HDC never has other phones.and on May the HDC company and dapeng Company has been closed ,becasue its phones won't sell well.in fact.so don't belive these fake name which the official website won't upload .these names are only the website made by itself and want to make it sell
Does anyone has the phone who can post some feedback , at the moment the only website that the description of the phone matches with the N0.1 website is merimobiles , but the phone does not come with the T version of the MTK CPU .

So is HSPA like LTE or 4G? I'm not that knowledgeable about this stuff, I just know that the phone I have now is 4G/LTE.
Do you know if that phone would work with a prepaid phone plan? I was looking at those, and it looks like their data plans only work with 3G phones.
Hello all,
As my old Xperia X8 curently rests in peace I have the chance to buy a new smartphone device. The thing is that as a college freshman my budget is as low as it gets, so the purpose of this post is that you guys, the elite of the net when it comes to smartphones, could help me choose wisely.
My goal is to find a smartphone that I can find here in my homeland (Greece to be particular) or could order from abroad, that wouldn't cost more that 130-145 € (shipping included or low enough if possible).
What I'm looking for mainly is a fast processor with good ram capacity that whouldn't let me down at multitasking, web browsing, app executing etc.To be percise, what I'm looking for is the best and fastest processor/ram combination I can find within that budget.
From there on, my preferences focus on the camera, wifi capabilities (speed and range), screen size and looks/styling with that particular order.
My manufactor preferences are Samsung and Sony of course. But if any other mobile manufactor has what I'm looking for I would be glad to take a look.
I myself have made a small research on possible devices I could buy. Unfortunately I am not a phone specialist.I'm far from it, (although I would like to get there one day hopefully) so these are some devices I came up with during a quick search at a greek online store:
http://www.skroutz.gr/c/40/kinhta-t....html?order_dir=asc&price_max=150&price_min=0
If you cannot open the link for some reason, or if you just don't wanna, the devices are:
Samsung Galaxy Ace 2
Sony Xperia M
Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 (S7582)
Samsung Galaxy Core I8260
Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus 3G
All of the above are within my budget.I lean towards xperia m because from reviews i found online it seems to have the best cpu performance from those 5, it's the only xperia sooo and because I never owned a samsung before so i don't know how it would feel yet.
So please guys if you can, suggest me the best option from these 5 or a better one that you can come up with that follows those requirements I listed above.Your help is really important to me and I would be really greatful to you if you had time to devote to my silly requests.

You should definitely go for Motorola Moto G because it comes with Kitkat out of the box and Specs are truly awesome, Camera is pretty good too.. on the other hand HTC desire x is a pretty out dated phone , and 601 may be a nice choice but Moto G offers more in Less price ..
Lenovo!!!!
Quad-core power
there more buying sites .. Like antealife inthebox and and and ..
This is no advertisment! Andthere also other lenovo phons with great spec. And good price.

I've been a big Samsung Fan, but somehow it has changed in the last few months. I'd take the Sony, it looks better and is not a "everybody has got it- samsung"

You should definitely go for Motorola Moto G because it comes with Kitkat out of the box and Specs are truly awesome, Camera is pretty good too.. on the other hand HTC desire x is a pretty out dated phone , and 601 may be a nice choice but Moto G offers more in Less price ..

honestly the moto g is my no1 preference but as i told you i couldn't find it cheaper than 195 euros.I found it on sites abroad but the shipping and taxes would raise the price to the same level. If anyone could advise me on how to obtain it in a cheaper price like the US and India ones that would be awesome!!!!

it's like you're asking me to spend my money for half a year of use, maximum! I'm a poor student, not a naive Richy McRich!
I personally don't think Xperia is worth it's price. It has a lot of issues with it's software from my and other people I know's experience. So... I'd recommend anything else but the Sony Xperia brand.
Based on your list, I would chose the xperia m !
There are 3 threads devoted to discussions about devices, please repost your question in one of these three threads: The what should I buy thread or the The Device Suggestion Thread or the The Device Comparison Thread.
Thanks!
(Hi Justmpm)
Has anyone started to work on ROM for this phone, looking at the spec of this phone looks promising, it has a large battery capacity which is great but look at battery test for this phone it looks like stock software is not optimized, so just wondering if the community is willing to help optimize or any advise

the review of low configuration umidigi S2 you can see on Youtube
I've got the regular S2 for a couple of weeks now. It's a good phone with some downsides. Camera is not fantastic but good enough for everyday stuff. If you want amazing photos buy a flagship. Proximity sensor doesn't turn off screen properly while in a call, maybe fixed in future version. One of the major networks in Germany does not work for mobile data in most cases (O2 and Eplus joined and the phone can't handle the "data roaming").
Tech support is non existant. They will point you to their half chinese forums with barely any members that is spammed with press releases. Posting takes dozens of "money" that you must unlock with posts. Very unprofessional but maybe expected for such a relatively small company. There are no service addresses for repairs and the accessories market for that phone is very very limited. Barely any cases or screen protectors out there. If you break anything on this phone expect to get a new one. I have not tried yet but to get replacement parts for this seems near impossible at this point.
Other than that, screen is great for the resolution. Battery life is absolutely brilliant. I can get through a full day with using <40% battery and it lasts easily 3+ days on pure standby.
Wifi has become much better I think after the last firmware update. They are updating the phone but I wonder for how long. This is not a manufacturer that can or wants to support all of it's devices like big ones do.
Materials are good, maybe a bit slippery in the hands but all microblasted aluminium phones are like that.
Screen has a <1mm bezel between the side of the phone and the display surface but I don't care about that.
Build, to me, feels very good. Fingerprint sensor works well and fast. Android is 6.0.1 but I hope they will have an update to 7 or 8 at some point.
I don't care about benchmarks so I can't talk about that, my apps work well. Video streaming is fluid. No idea about 3D gaming I don't use my phone for that.
For that price it's a great phone imho.
Have just pre-ordered this device. Will wait to see what comes, hopefully able to unlock the bootloader and remove any bloatware that comes pre-installed.
It exist a custom rom for s2? I'd like
It has poor camera, other things are very good
What kind of custom could fix in it? Paranoid android?

Apparently it's possible to install TWRP on this Umidigi S2 :
https://www.getdroidtips.com/root-twrp-umidigi-s2-s2-pro/
I don't have Umidigi S2 to test but I'm very interested by the S2 Pro.
Perhaps it is possible to install Lenovo SNAPit Camera in order to improve the photos by flashing it with TWRP ? :

Does it support volt in india (to call using jio)

This post was a cut and paste from another phone.
Now the link for the custom recovery is available. I will probably give it a try just to be able to root the phone.
As of today, there is no available custom ROM available for the umidigi s2, although you can find posts on how to revert back to the stock ROM. Those posts are also just cut and pasted from other phones sharing the same cpu

I just tried that and while the recovery installs my phone wouldn't boot afterwards. Maybe because I have the main partition encrypted but maybe for another reason.
Also for me the screen was flipped 180 degrees probably due to a backwards display in this phone.

Still early days I wouldn't personally try it but I'm sure in time this phone will get Dev support , I had some feed back from umi on there FB page regarding update to 7/8 they said there waiting on MediaTek's to release source or sdk as this P20 chip was built around Android 6 at the time and the P25 around 7 that's why pro ships with 7 that's what they said , also mentioned an update coming with a week but more likely bug patch still on Jan 2017 security , not the best look on a 2017 phone 2015 os

I personally would consider it for a next phone, though I'm not sure if the TWRP image for the S2 works on the S2 pro.

Hi
Please check and correct me If I am wrong. According to UMI claimed that the first batch of S2 v1 come with non up gradable processor and hence, you can only maintain at Marshmallow version ie. Android 6 while S2 v2 (so called 2nd batch) can be upgraded to Android 7 (no idea to Android 8???). So guys, please check directly with UMI on this issue. I am thinking of getting the S2 Pro but would like UMI to confirm whether same issue with S2 v1 ???? Cheer s -

I did get sim info from umi regarding diff chips that are built on certain version of Android v1 Android 6 V2 Android 7 they won't answer the question weather V1 can update to 7 all I got was there waiting for MediaTek to release source but unless big demand that will very unlikely happen as they have no need to probably

Below is the info extracted from Umidigi Forum lately .......
"Quote" They said the first batch of S2 will keep on Android 6 (there will be some updates, but nothing of update to Android 7). So the second batch of S2 and the S2 Pro will come with UMI OS Android 7. Anybody received handset with android 7.0 what date are the V2 or is that just referring to the Pro , mine is due 23/11 ordered 16/11 wondered if it will be V2 model with 7.0. Seems odd 2017 handset shipping with 2015 software .... Phone i received week ago got Android 6 so its V1. That will not work on the first v1 of Umidigi S2 sadly. It's made for MT6757D (S2 v2).
How ever there are phones out there already with MT6757 (Not MT6757D) will be on Android 7.0. "Unquote"
Hope this clear some of your thoughts. Thank you.
Bit of a con from umi
Won't be keeping it long then

S2 version 1 coming with Android 6 and can't be updated to higher android version.
S2 version 2 will be coming with Umidigi OS based on Android 7. Further updates are not confirmed.
