How can I change the battery icon of my Nexus 5 to show charge % whilst it is turned off and charging?
PS: not how to show battery icon % when it is on.
I'm tired of seeing a battery icon filling itself up and not knowing what % really has been charged so far.

That turned on the % in the status bar - I wish to turn on the % indicator when the phone is off but plugged in; the big battery symbol in the middle of the screen.
I wish for that big battery symbol to show the % charged
Cannot post a picture since i'm new.....

I unplugged my Captivate around 7:00 AM when I left for work, used it on wifi during the day, wifi at home, etc. When I was getting ready for bed I noticed that my battery indicator still appeared to look like I had 2/3 life left. I was stunned, a day of use and I still have 2/3? No way. I installed a battery widget and guess what: 39% battery. Under half yet the indicator in the top-right still showed ~2/3?
So I am curious, is the indicator at the top only a 3rd based indicator? (something like: 3/3 100%, 2/3 from 30-70%, 1/3 from 0-30%? Or does the indicator at the top display more precision than that? I just don't get why the indicator showed well over 50% when I was actually 11% under 50%.
I read that its very inaccurate, so i'm not sure exactly what values it is set to display. I would use that battery widget for a better gauge
I dont think its that accurate either. I used mine a lot yesterday and it showed like 3/4 or 5/6 of the battery still left, then I looked in settings and saw it was around 50%.
The battery icon in the upper right corner is basically worthless. I've posted several times somebody should write a small app that gets rid of the icon with just a number there that tells the percentage. Newer iphones have this option, either a battery icon or the actual percentage.

I would much prefer that. I'm not even asking for exact precision, but the indicator is just way too far off and I don't get why that is the case. The indicator should read current battery levels and display the proper image, simple as that.
I can confirm that my indicator is way off as well.
I just downloaded battery indicator which puts another battery icon with percentage on the left side of the taskbar. Just gotta deal with having two battery icons for now.

Yes, I saw that there are several of those apps in the marketplace. I was hoping to avoid having to have two battery gauges. Maybe nobody cares, but with a rooted phone it shouldnt be too hard to create a new battery gauge icon (of course I'm no programmer so what do i know)
I think the battery icon is only showing 4 or 5 stages of battery life, and it's very underhanded because it shows more than what it actually has.
a full battery is > 75%
slight sliver is 74% - 50%
orange is 49% - 25%
red is < 25%
I would love to have the icon replaced with something more accurate.
Does anybody know why is the battery percentage so inconsistent?
I am just switched over to the sensation from the HD2. I have had the phone for about a week now. The first couple of nights I turned off my phone because it was around 20% battery life. The next morning when I turned on my phone the battery percentage was at 33%. I have done a couple of other times and the percentage goes up about 10% after a day of use. My wife's sensation does this also. I am using the stock battery, and I am not using any roms or mods. I am monitoring with battery monitor widget and current widget to make sure it is not the app.
Anyone else notice this?
battery monitor widget is not anything official from HTC.
I think that is your problem.
I have never seen my % go from 20% to 30% without charging it.
I thought about that also, but I will turn the phone off with the battery icon at the top yellow color, and then in the morning it will be green. So the widgets would have no effect on that. Like I said I have noticed this on both phones.
I have also had my batter meter go up after a reboot. Not sure why... The meter works good enough to give me an estimate or battery life. Good enough for me.

I am not worried about it, but is kind of interesting how power cycling shows the correct battery. It must be some kind of glitch in the OS or something.
yeah, it happens to me too! For example, after a full charge the % stays on 100% for about 8-9 hours and after that it starts to decrease. About the % growing, it happened to me two times... maybe it's about calibration...
i have cyanamobile intial release A on FIT and it has setting of playing notification sound when battery gets fully charged. but after it displays "battery charge fully", no notification sound is played..and if i unplug the charger at this condition, battery goes down to 93 in few seconds...
i have tried another method..charged it for 1 hr more after showing 100%charged but no notification was played...

I already wrote somewhere that for the battery is good remove battery about 5 minutes. You need to install a Battery Calibration, charge the battery until the end, open the Battery Calibration, follow the instructions, get out of it and turn off the charger.
Battery Calibration is recommended to use 2-3 times per year. Not more.
I am too facing battery problem after flashing custom Roms...
i want to mention here that if you want to use cyanogenmod but facing fast battery draining problems..then TJ_styles cyanogenmod 7.2 rc1 is best for use...i actually got surprised by its wonderful battery performance...just want to say thanks to TJ_style..superb ROM
If uvare that much confused just enable patternlock.. It shows the exact percantage of battery when u put on charging bro.. Or else remove it when u get a green notification icon showing 100 percent bro
I have a problem with the battery.
I`m running cw11 m6.
The battery indicator in the status bar sometimes jumps back and forth.
I reset the battery stats via the app "battery calibration".
I have not plugged in the charging cable during this time.
Is the battery broken or a rom bug?
Lock on the picture:
It happens. The graph is an estimation only. It periodically checks the battery Voltage for an accurate reading and adjusts the graph accordingly.
Wiping battery stats won't help anything.
[Info] What are battery stats and is wiping them helpful?

That is a lot more extreme than I've ever seen. Full charge your phone over night and see what happens after.
You don't need any app to calibrate your battery. It self calibrates every time you full charge your phone. By using something like Current Widget you can check when the phone is actually fully charged since it's not when it first reaches 100%.
How can I change the battery icon of my Nexus 5 to show charge % whilst it is turned off and charging?
I wish to turn on the % indicator when the phone is off but plugged in i.e. the big battery symbol in the middle of the screen - not the battery % in the status bar.
I'm tired of seeing a battery icon filling itself up and not knowing what % really has been charged so far.

I wish to add a photo of what exactly I mean, but since I'm new to the forum, I cannot.
If this issue has been tackled before, I'd appreciate redirection. Thanks
