Hi,
I'm looking to purchase an XT1225 (Unlocked international version) to use on AT&T. After researching, this model number is the only one that will work fully with LTE on AT&T network. The Verizon version (XT1254) and the unlocked US (XT1250) version do not have all the AT&T LTE bands. I am having a pretty difficult time finding this model number to purchase. They have one on eBay and Amazon, but they are like $600, which is crazy for a phone that is over 2 years old. I searched the "eBay" of Mexico and the "Craigslist" of Brazil and found some on there, but no one ships internationally. Even if they did, purchasing from an individual in Brazil from craigslist is risky and buying form the mexico ebay is complicated because they dont use paypal and everything is in Spanish. Anyone know where in the US I could purchase one or is selling one themselves? Appreciate it!
Thanks,
Andrew
If you can't find one, see my suggestion for an alternative at bottom.
I own three Moto XT1225. Use two of them on AT&T, with the third still new in the box as backup. Nope, not selling it right now.
Bought two off eBay. Last spring the 3rd one was like $400 from Puerto Rico dealer. The other two back in November/December 2014 were average of $700 each from Puerto Rico and Mexico. The Mexico one I bought with help of an XDA member who re-shipped it to my address. I ordered it straight off the Motorola Mexico website and paid with my U.S. credit card (which you could do at that time.
Price is still high (for new) probably because of specs? Only comes in 64GB size, 3GB RAM, Qi wireless charging, and has easily unlocked bootloader -- and has the 1440p AMOLED display. As you noted, the XT1254/XT1250 have deficiencies for AT&T.
---------
On Swappa.com, used XT1225 occasionally come up for sale. Check there, also.
See this one sold a month ago, for $220 and came with extras. Was listed around midnight November 27 and sold by 1:15 pm the next day.
https://swappa.com/listing/NRI879/view
If you use Swappa, you have to search for unlocked "Moto Maxx". Then UNcheck the 32GB box to see only 64GB models. The XT1225 only comes in 64GB, and any 32GB listings would be for the XT1250 (which only comes in 32GB).
-------
As an alternative, look at the 2016 ZTE AXON 7. $399. 5.5" 1440p AMOLED, Snapdragon 820, 64 GB internal storage + microSD card, 4GB RAM, stereo speakers, rear camera OIS.
Has all the AT&T LTE bands. Make sure you get the U.S. model! Available on Amazon, eBay, other places.
Bootloader unlocked on request, like Motorola.
But no Qi wireless charging.

Really appreciate the advice. I have fallen in love with the moto active display and the wave to wake using the IR sensors, and I currently have a Moto X 2nd gen, but am looking for an upgrade, but don't like the 5.5" screens, as its too big for my hand. So the Moto Maxx is what I came upon, still is a good size, 5.2", has updated specs, and still has the moto active display that i cant live without. But ill keep a lookout on Amazon, eBay, and Swappa. Hopefully I get lucky and if anyone on XDA is selling one, I'd be interested!
Thanks again

The last one on Swappa went in 15 hours, and it was posted in the middle of the night.
I wonder if Swappa has some kind of email alert system where you can have it trigger when someone posts a model phone you're looking for?
They have a subscribe email alert for devices, so I subscribed to the Moto Maxx Unlocked 64gb, as stated in the first reply. Hopefully Ill be getting an alert soon!

Five sold on Swappa since August 11, 2016. That's more than 1 per month, and here's the prices.

I'm from Italy and have preordered it from handtec.co.uk; last week they said it would be available since 14 september, but yesterday they told me it will be available in the end of this week/monday 21 (the same date on clove.co.uk).
I've preordered a white/bamboo one. I can't wait for it!
The price seems to be wrong, £399 for 32GB? Standard 32GB pre-order on Clove is 350.
I thought it should be 350 for 32GB (+35 for 64GB)
Ordered mine too Black front with Bambo back.
Also a bit surprised by the £399 for the base model and 9th October delivery date...

Yeah I'm a bit shocked at the price too
It was stated on every site that the price would be £360 on motomaker.

It was only assumed that it would be £360,
Places like clove & hantec listed it for 359.99 so everyone assumed it would be that on motomaker,
However i see no issue paying the extra £30 to have it customized.

Pre-ordered also from them White/Bamboo. Can you check your Order Status, mine is On-Hold, not sure what does that means, can you check it from your Order History?
I'm torn between ordering the bamboo at handtec or the normal black one at amazon. Last year a friend had to change his bamboo Moto x twice (back kept coming off). Don't know how easy would be an exchange at handtec.

I'd go through moto, advanced replacement with deposit.
The price seems very high. The difference between Motomaker US and the ones in Europe I checked (UK and Germany) is about 150-200€
At that price-range you can buy phones like LG G4. One of the main reasons I was looking at Moto X was its low price and it seems that in Europe that is not true.
wow what a price increase compared to other countries. Rip off UK strikes again. I knew I should have taken the 1+2 invite I received. No chance I will be buying this phone anymore, not when a brand new LG G4 can be had for £330
Gutted really, I will be giving the Style a miss. Config I wanted below but the price is holding me back.
Total£454.00
Base Price£399.00
Back - Bamboo Wood £20.00
Memory - 64GB £35.00
Will possibly go for the Nexus
My order was already showing as built and complete last night. I also spoke to customer services and they say it should arrive much sooner then the 9th October. Really hoping it will ship out today for delivery early next week.

Such a shame UK consumers get ripped off every time.
HOW MUCH?! I was holding out for this but there is NO chance I'm getting it at that price! There is no way that the Style is £105 better than the LG G4! Give them some grief on Twitter, I just have

I spoke to Moto chat and they disappointingly said the following:
I have checked the order details, everything is looking fine with the order, once the mobile is shipped you will receive an email with the tracking details. We have standard shipment method so it will be 7 to 10 days. However as the Moto X Style is in preorder state only you can expect the mobile by mentioned expected date.
The order has been received by the fulfillment centre, we are unable to confirm if it is build and ready or not however once the mobile shipped from fulfillment centre you will receive an email with the tracking details.
Oh well, guess I wait for the email!!
Preordered mine yesterday - the first thing I'll get it an extra battery or two and a charging stand for them.
It's still early days, but one ali seller is claiming to have original batteries: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Orig...ery-For-LG-T3-T5-T6-T7-T8-T9/32643903091.html at two for 15$, but no ratings or feedback
Haven't found any on ebay.
From what I can see from photos on the net the product number is: EAC63238801 LLL and it's a 4,40V battery.
If I search for the P/N I find a few sites with the battery at around 20€.
Edit: Just saw that a cradle and an extra battery is part of deal in the US: http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/g5/promo
Original is the brand lmao. Definitely third party cheapo chinese batteries.
Avoid alibaba if you like your pockets not exploded

I agree, I do use aliexpress sometimes, but I would avoid getting battery from there at all cost. It is the homeground for all fakes.
I know it's barely been released but haven't found any replacement batteries, even lg oem for sale. If someone has a link I would appreciate it. Got a trip to Europe and we bought the phone specifically to be able to swap and go, not like last year when we spent much of the time charging my s6 since I was using the camera for the trip
I have a free one (OEM) w/charging stand and USB-C Adapter on the way, having purchased my LG G5 thru Best Buy for $99. My VZW line charge did go up $20/month. So as opposed to buying directly from Verizon and paying $26/month x 24 for $624, I pay $20/month x 24 for $480 + $99 = $579. You don't get the $10 adapter in the Verizon free package so hey, I'll take $55 saved.

If you pre-ordered through Verizon between 3-24 and 3-31 (like I did) you get the battery and cradle plus the 360 cam ($199 value). I pay Verizon $26/mo and they give me a $25/mo discount so my phone costs $1/mo for two years (excluding data plan, of course). I'll take that.
I pre-ordered mine from Best Buy on the 3/23. My free accessories arrived today via UPS in a padded envelope inside a cardboard box. Pictured left to right: Micro-USB to USB-C Adapter, Battery charging cradle, Extra battery.

Nice, waiting for mine from LG too, pre-ordered on Tmobile and will get battery bundle pack and 360 lg cam.
Has anyone that purchased on 4/1 or later gotten notification that their spare battery/cradle submission is approved and will be shipping soon? I have messaged LG to ask where I can buy an OEM charger and cradle now because I hate waiting and have not heard back yet.

I haven't received an approval email yet either. I did receive an approval for the camera offer, though.
Ordered mine from LG on the 1st. No reply yet. AT&T never said anything about the camera. Is that free too?

I am about to purchase a Galaxy S7 from craigslist. However, this guy is selling a 64GB international model.
I did some research and it seems 64GB model do exists, but very rare. Also, I could not find 64GB model with exact same model number.
Can you tell if this is fake or real?

it looks like a fake because there are no s7 which have their capacity written on their back...
also note that the earbuds that comes with the phone should be in a box. the earbuds shown in the attached image does not seem to be the one bundled with my s7 (sm-g930fd).
i am a bit sceptical about the colour of the phone, at least from the image. the phone looks like a cheap replica to me....
i believe that genuine s7 should have their imei written on the back if i'm not wrong...
if i were you, i would definitely not buy this phone.

When I looked up some pictures, how ear buds are packaged were different depending on the market. Some were in a clear plastic box and some were just like in this picture.
I'm supposed to meet with the seller soon, hope I can tell if it is fake or not.
White colour does exist but for the American market. However no 64gb model is officially launched unless it is an upcoming release which the seller has. I would stay away for the time being unless there is an official release by Samsung.

Just met up with the seller. Sure enough, it was a fake phone.
First thing I checked was sim tray. It did not have rubber gasket that goes around sim tray.
So, I installed CPU-Z to check processor. It should have Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890. Instead, it had some unknown brand ARM processor (arm7). Missing all sensors except acceleration sensor, proximity sensor, and light sensor.
The phone was slow to respond as well.
The guy claims he bought it from the official T-mobile on-line store in the UK and paid over $700. Hm..

I have a 930FD and mine says "duos" on the back although I have seen some legit phones without that logo. IMEI is also printed on the back. The box for this fake was also a giveaway to me - it just looks weird to me. I havent seen an S7 yet that the box was in two complete halves. Mine flips open and has a snap like action when closing.
Fact remains that, answering the TS's initial question, S7's with 64GB internal memory do exist. I guess but not sure in Korea and/or Indonesia. So not all 64GB versions of the S7 are fake.
Simple, install phone info and you will find out all about the phone

You might see something like this. The phone would be much lighter (smaller battery), with slightly larger buttons, less screen curvature, dim or uneven capacitive lights, and vibrator that sounds like a tin can. The TouchWiz features would also be very limited.

While they may exist, it seems nearly impossible to find any store that sells them. I've been looking everywhere and all I see are 32GB models. :crying:
There should be shops that sell them. I saw someone that sold one second hand and he claimed he had an official invoice.
notice the screen carefully.. it'll have black outline... that's the fake one!
It is fake! never seen.
I'm curious, where can I buy the fake one?
Hey guys, maybe its just that I'm getting bored of this phone but after nearly 2 years I think its time to get a new one.
Been thinking about nexus 2017 lineup, maybe a xiaomi phone or lately (mainly because of its price and battery) the new moto z play. I'm not willing to pay a lot this time as I did 2 years ago.
What do you guys think? would moto z play be a good replacement phone for moto maxx? Is there any other phone you can think of that can be a good replacement?

http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/ZTE-Axon-7,Samsung-Galaxy-S7-edge/phones/10068,9818?ft=2
Seriously, look at the specs and realize that's a $400 phone vs an $800 phone!
Just wished it had Qi wireless charging and I'd be buying 3 of them! Instead I'll wait for next year's Samsung Galaxy Edge as Samsung seems to be the only ones still doing Qi wireless. My Quarks will last me another year. We use two daily and I have one in a box -- never touched -- as backup.
The only thing that worries me is updates and the future of the phone....and maybe price a little bit( moto z play would cost me 250 usd )

Your current phone is better than Moto Z Play! 1080p? Snapdragon 600 series?
Last year's LG G4 is even better than Moto Z Play. I didn't know you wanted mid-tier. I thought you were looking at Moto Z. I didn't read well enough.
ZTE AXON 7 will have unlocked bootloader. Devs will be all over it, especially at that price. It has better specs than Nexus will, at Nexus prices. It matches most (and beats a couple) Galaxy S7 Edge specs, at half the price.

Just realized it has SD625, I was thinking it had the 650 or 652 with the A72 cores
If it wasn't cause of you I may have bought it.
Now I'm trying to decide if I buy the Axon 7 or just wait for this year nexus and hope I can afford one
They're less than month away. I say wait, and you if you don't like them / can't afford them get the Axon. Perhaps you can even get a used Axon or a deal then.
Also remember that paying for something good isn't necessarily a bad deal. I paid $800 for my Quark and it's still running great. Never had a phone last me this much.

Told you devs would jump on it.
This dev got unofficial CM13 for it before he even got his phone. Only got his phone today (September 13)... ROM was up days ago (September 8, 2016). Now, he'll start fixing what doesn't work.

Today is a good day We made it to top forum discussions and you finally got your phone!
Really surprised how you even got a build up with fixes while not even having the phone lol.
Can only imagine what you'll do now that you actually have the phone. RIP MiFavor!
Thanks @B4oE for making it possible.

Again, just wished it had Qi wireless charging and I'd be buying three of them. Except for that it's about a perfect phone, at least specs on paper. Good dev work will make it even better.
The now also have TWRP.

The news about view 20 can be found everywhere except this forum. That's weird.
Here is the summary of XDA reports about Honor view 20 showcase in Hong Kong so far:
1. The in-screen hole display
Honor claims View 20 in-display hole is 4.5mm, 1.5mm smaller than Samsung A8s's solution. It is somehow a little awkward Samsung's and Honor 's showcases fell on the same day. But I think Honor wins this round.
Although it seems a mere 1.5mm difference doesn't matter too much, I believe that’s a big improvement in the display craftsmanship. Good job, Honor.
I like the hole-punch screen (compared with the ugly notch) and it actually extends the screen to body ratio to a high level, nearly 100%. If 2018 is the year of notch, hole seems the new trend in the coming 2019.
2. 48MP rear camera
It may become the first phone with 48-megapixel camera, powered by Sony’s IMX586 CMOS sensor. This report said this sensor has good performance in low-light shooting and zooming in on photos taken from a distance. In addition, Kirin 980 chipset with the dual-ISP and dual-NPU can provide a better image quality with more details.
PS: Wanna figure out how much detailed can the image be? Anyone can find any sample pictures?
3. Link Turbo
According to XDA reports, this is “an AI feature that allows simultaneous downloads over WiFi and 4G. “ Samsung released similar feature before but I never heard about it.
“Link Turbo also enables better switching between WiFi and 4G depending on signal strength.”
This sounds very powerful but I still feel confused how will it works. So here comes a key point: how much will view 20 price be?
Just check the price of A8s (https://gadgets.ndtv.com/samsung-galaxy-a8s-5759), it is about 29,900 INR, equal to 420 USD( that’s in high price range though).
So I guess Honor View20 may be more expensive than Samsung A8s?
Because with smaller hole and better rear camara (Samsung A8s: 24MP, Honor View20: 48MP), it seems unreasonable to lower the price…
Feel free to share your thoughts and update what you can find about View 20 info below.
I also will update what I find here.
Update (12.26):
The price in China is released!
6GB RAM + 128GB of storage for ¥2999 ($435),
8GB RAM + 128GB of storage for ¥3499 ($510),
the “MOSCHINO” version with 8GB RAM +256 GB of storage for ¥3999 ($580).
What do you think of the price value?

this quote on the XDA page:
Note: Huawei has stopped providing official bootloader unlock codes for its devices. Therefore, the bootloader of the Honor View 20 cannot be unlocked, which means that users cannot root or install custom ROMs.
I was aware you could not load a custom rom with a locked bootloader, but my understanding was you could root the dveice still, can anyone confirm? I don't care at all about custom roms but I can't live without root.

There is still no way to unlock the phone though. I don't think view20 will have it. somebody said Funkyhuawei can help you root but you need to buy the unlock code. I use an Honor 8X but I'm fine to use without rooting as all the specs work well.
Now View 20 haven't released so we can wait and see if someone can find a way to unlock it.
I agree we need to wait for release before coming to any conclusions. But I still think the statement on XDA is incorrect, root on this device should be possible whether its locked boot loader or not. ref: https://www.quora.com/Is-it-necessary-to-unlock-bootloader-before-rooting-Android-phones
Countdown posters guessing
Waiting for the View20 launch in China today.
I Found some countdown posters on Honor Phone Chinese weibo.
One is a big "M" and another is a "T".
I guess "M" maybe Maserati? T is technology?

unboxing video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmyNIiNLkIs
Looks absolutely incredible, I love the way the notification bar lines up with the camera hole.
Also the headphone jack and SD card are great additions (Although Is suspect it uses the lame hybrid sim tray where you can't use two sims and SD card at the same time).

Like the unboxing video! So quick!
It's nice to see they keep the 3.5mm headphone as most of phones have removed it.
I found a detailed review here : https://www.androidcentral.com/honor-view-20-review
I think it has the best value in its price range.
https://www.gadgetsnow.com/mobile-phones/Honor-View-20
All the specs are very tempting. hope to have a hands-on review
Will it come to US?
Does it have always on display or notification led?

its LCD so no AOD and no LED
Hmm, to me, removing, for me, basic features, does not seem like a step in right direction, I kinda like knowing about notifications without having to turn on the phone.
With notification led it would be great phone for me, I think. (currently I have nova3 and I hate that notifications are not shown in status bar because of the notch)

They haven't released the final price for Global version. So maybe we can wait until the global launch day Jan.22.
In case there is any confusion, this phone does support a memory card, it doesn't use the standard SD-card it uses the Huawei made nano memory card. There is no extra slot for this card, the card is exactly the same size as a nano sim card and therefore to use it, you put it in the sim card tray in place of the secondary sim.
So unfortunately you cannot use two SIM's and a memory card at the same time (very few phones these days do anyway).
Great pricing (although it will be more in EU)
the only thing that annoys me so far, is the fact that it uses Huawei's own technology for memory expansion
Pricing has been released. (Not good news unfortunately for global version)
china
6GB model - $405 USD
8GB model - $480 USB
Global
6GB Model - $630 USD
8GB model - $760 USD
apparently the global version will come with a free Honor smartwatch worth $200 USD

If it's true that's more expensive compared to the 1+6T.
Some reported screen bleed is bad at the bottom
