It's showing up green because it's the safety feature Samsung made to help people feel reassured that their battery wasn't going to explode.
Maybe try installing some themes? Or flash back to an older N7 port before they made the battery green.

Hey,
So I see there is a android battery indicator available for a few other droids (its a goodlookin battery indicator) so I tried to apply it to my device via metamorph
I got it to show except it did not properly indicate my battery %
battery manager showed %60 and the droid was still fully green
can anyone create this for the X? maybe WJD
the link is below and its the last android icon at the bottom

definitely willing to donate as well, thank you
try this:

thanks for the link
only thing is the other one looks muuchhhh cleaner
the droid battery indicator actually works great
the shades of green between 100 and 80 are just a slight difference so its hard to tell by first glance
Is there anything that I can flash to get a battery indicator in the notification bar that shows the percentage on stock?
I don't want to flash another rom since stock had been stable for me.

You might be able to pull the framework-res.apk from the phone and edit it, then push it back. But I haven't seen anything to prove you can. I think stock had an LG version of framework-res as well, not sure which has the battery stuff in it.
I had the Big battery Notifier installed and it showed the percentage in increments of 1%. After having uninstalled it, I find it more bearable to go all day without charging, because when I see the battery draining and dropping 1% within a few minutes, I get anxiety.
Now just seeing the battery icon, and how it displays just color to signify how much approximate charge there is, it feels more comforting just knowing it's more than half full without being very specific about it to make me nervous.
Bottom line, I suggest just leaving the stock battery indicator, or install a real specific one and get battery anxiety.
The Dark Sinister Taskbar available in his thread works great with the stock rom. Its s black taskbar with a blue percentage battery indicator.
Hi, I tried making my own and it is a flashable zip thru cwm.
It is for 2.2.2. Just try it. Make sure you do a nandroid backup in case something wrong happens.
I already tried it with eb1.05, sinister1.2, ultimate1.0 and stock.

After doing some reading, I discovered how our screens work to show colors.
Black and White use less battery than other brighter colors.
So I found a Black and White AOKP theme and applied it.
I must say, I can tell a BIG difference in battery life.
Before, running UniPorn latest build with a colored theme, I would generally get 8 - 12 hours.
Now running black and white... 8 hours later and I still have 60% left.
(see screenshot)
I have been reading up on the backlight settings, and am now going to start messing around with the values to see if I can further increase battery life.
Thanks again to everyone involved in making the awesome UniPorn ROM!!
Yeah...with amoled screens dark themes/backgrounds always do wonders on battery life...the colorful ones, well at least they look pretty
I personally like dark colors anyways...when I get an infuse again ill try this out...thanks for the find

I have found this app to be a great photo tweaking for dark making or toning wallies...to help in battery life. Worked great on my infuse...still using it on my note...

It also depends on which ROM you are running. In CM 10.1 for example you can change the battery color settings.
i have dual boot right now, stock and cm 10.1 but i never changed the color icon, some days ago the tablet went really hot, i think i damaged something
