I have a XZ, clean, nothing flashed or bootloader unlocked or whatsoever. I have the official Nougat installed but sometimes the phones is lagging suddenly. I had this in my Sonos app, in Runkeeper and it seems to be happening more and more. No problem so far, first let me reinstall everything. So I installed the lastest PC Companion and choose Software Repair. I asked me to turn off the phone, wait 5 seconds and then hold down volume down button and reattach to PC. I did this, but when reattach it, nothing happens. The led is green and slowly blinking(on for 5 seconds and then off or 5 seconds, and so on).
What is wrong here?
I assume, the factory reset is not as a hard reset as PC Companion does?
Nobody? The volume down does work while booted, so it looks like Volume Down isn't recognized when holding down and plugging it in. Or is this different for the XZ and is PC Companion suggesting the wrong instructions.
I have the same issue with both my XZ and my Z4 Tablet

Did you try in a different Pc maybe Driver wasn't installed correctly.
I did a repair it got till 30% and then got message says failed did the process all again and went to 100% and worked again perfectly.
Or try another USB port but if u gave another pc better.
Check and tell me.
Good call, tried on another PC and it worked first time.

No matter what i do it will not recognize. I have reloaded the driver and i cannot get it to work. I want to go back to stock but can't get started
need a few more details. There are a few threads about this topic already, but if you have AWD launcher or Launcherpro active, Windows will not see the phone through Keis. You have to switch back to the Touchwiz UI and Keis will see the phone.
Hope this helps.
I rooted my phone last week. Then decided to do 2.2 ...when i went to do it my my pc would not recognize the phone. I finally got it to work by selecting mass storage in usb mode. I managed to get 2.2 loaded. Now i want to go back to stock before trying another rom. When i plug the phone to the pc it charges but the pc comes up as not recognizing the phone. When i do try to enter download mode by holding the volume buttons and putting in the usb the phone just boots.
thanks
I think i finally got it...i tried cleaning the contacts and it seems to be working! Sort of....its hit or miss....the other thing...if my phone shuts off the only way i get it on is by holding the volumes and power button and pluggin in a cable....what the heck is that about?

Wow that's a new one. I too have had problems getting my phone connected in Windows. At first I never had a problem but after installing Kies Mini I have never been able to get my phone to connect properly. I'll work on it this week and post any suggestions to see we can get this figured out.

i'm not using kies. i have two of these phones. My wifes phone connects with no problem. I think its corrosion on the port as someone else on here described...phone is running well now but will only turn on by the three button method and plugging in a usb cable
Just spent the last couple hours going through the rooting process, except for I never got the chance to flash CWM. The volume down button is not working to bring it into download mode. I know the button works when the phone is on, so it's not a mechanical issue.
I installed/uninstalled the Samsung drivers a handful of times, even grabbed the official file from Samsung's site. Restarted, didn't restart, ran Odin as admin and not, tried several USB cords, and several USB ports, and still nothing. I got it to go once, held til the COM port showed up in Odin, but then the phone randomly disconnected and got an error from Windows says drivers not installed correctly.
Any other ideas to try? I am coming from a rooted OG Droid, so it isn't my first time, but I am by no means an expert.
Thanks in advance.
Download terminal emulator and allow su permissions
Just type su, allow, restart app.
Type su, then reboot download

The Charge is kind of touchy about download mode, I've noticed.
Here's what you can do.
1) Turn the phone off completely, unplugged off the charger.
2) When it is off completely, plug in the the USB cord and hit the volume down button at the same time. Hit the volume down button constantly many times until download mode finally kicks in.
ALTERNATIVELY -
You can download "Quick Boot (Reboot)" from the market. This will allow you to boot into Download Mode or Recovery straight from the app. Only if you're rooted though.
why not try another computer? also, are you using a laptop or a desktop. if you are using a laptop, make sure it is plugged into an outlet. (If on Vista or 7) Make sure your power settings are set to balanced or high performance (not sure if this affects USB ports but it may).
In addition to all that, what version of ODIN are you using?
I'll just tell you what I know works from experience.
#1: Turn the phone off and wait 15 seconds(it needs to completely shut off)
#2: Remove the battery
#3: Open Odin
#4: Plug the phone with no battery into the back USB port of your desktop(if you have a laptop just use any port)and while its plugged in just hold the Down volume control for a few seconds until a yellow triangle pops up on your screen but DONT let go until one of the rectangle ports in Odin turns yellow as well, then you can let go of the Down volume button.
If that doesn't work then I can't help ya D:

I am using Windows 7 desktop so I'll check my power settings tonight.
Odin should be v1.3 IIRC. Laptop had the same issue which is also running 7 so I'll need to check settings on that as well.

Thanks for the other replies as well. Tonight will be attempt 2. Touchwiz is unfortuantely growing on me, but having the bloatware is really annoying me. Will probably run stock for a bit then flash gummy charged.

Got it working finally. Had to have the battery in the whole time otherwise it just kept failing.
I am now rooted and nearly debloated! Thanks for the tips.
I have just recieved the phone and its driving me nuts. When i switch the wifi on and then try to switch it off it says its switching off but stays like that for next 4 hours and wont switch off! Need to reatart the phone every time. Today battery was full at 10:30 and by 12 was 48% wifi off data off screen brightness at 50% bt off watched 1 minute of 3d video. When tried to dial a number it just stoped and nothing happend so had to restart it again. Its a factory lg handset without simlock or any branding on it. Yesterday had an update 5mb so did it and thats about it. Any ideas?

It does. Just go to customer support menu and then click on emergency mode , it's the last option to the bottom.
Also the wifi issues are not normal. Try if they will be fixed after reflashing the device. If not then maybe the device is defective. Also the battery drains really fast the first month. That's normal for smartphones and especially for this phone.

Connect the usb cable to the computer.
Shut down your phone and connect it to the usb cable.
Then wait a bit and it will start up by itself.
Shut it down again.
While connected to the USB cable and completely turned off, press the volume + button at the side of the phone and at the same time press the power button.
Wait till you see that the LG mobile tool has found the phone.
The phone screen will be completely black but don't worry about it.
Run the emergency mode menu again and re-type your IMEI.
See if it works that way.

Not sure I am right, but I think you should use Sony's update manager (or whatever the name is) to flash the watch, or an other software, but mind if I ask, how did you get into this situation, what was the last thing you did when the watch was working?

Did it do the update?
So there I was watching a performance. Then I casually checked the time and BAM it was still stuck at 7:30 hen it was about 8. Then i did some quick research on my phone and saw about SUS then when I went home i tried and finally got it to connect. It was then stuck at about 1% and not moving at the installing (It said there was an update). Then overnight as my cmputer went to sleep the watch suddenly turned dead. It is now dead
List of Apps I installed:
WatchIt
TicTacToe
Smart Camera
Slideshow
Runtastic
Music Player
Messaging
Hangouts
Gmail
Email
Custom Watch
Call Handling
Calender Reminder
Calculator

Re: Flash F5 Message
I tried to update my smartwatch but it did not updating my watch, for thanks god my watch is working well..
After much cursing and gnashing of teeth, I got the Sony Update Service software to recognize the watch. I noticed that when I powered up my (bricked) SW2, the SONY logo would flash for a split second on the screen before the dreaded "Flash FS" message. So after powering down the watch, I plugged it in to my PC and hit the power button several times quickly. This triggered the windows device manager to successfully recognize the device as a Sony Smartwatch and the update software room it from there. About 10-15 minutes later... my SW2 was working again.

How did you do this? In my case sometimes it recognises it as "SmartWatch 2" using your solution, the Windows (8) installs it's driver and than it sais no device drivers installed in the device manager and neither the PC Companion notices it.
Could you help me somehow please?

To flash it power it on then quickly insert the USB. Should come up with something like a progress bar box. Utility should detect it maybe??
Any luck?
I've got it working by inserting USB just when SONY logo appears. It started normally the watch as if it never happened any FLASH FS screen. But after around 20 seconds of happiness, it froze again but this time I just cannot get it started again. Any other advice?
Thanks

Flash fs problem
please help Flash FS i tried so many time but its still showing Flash Fs
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2783426&page=8&nocache=1
This can be solution for Flash FS message when SUS is dead
and to get into DFU mode:
2. Turn the watch off.
3. Insert the cable into the watch and than into the USB-port of your computer (it is faster to insert the cable into the computer USB-port than into the watch).
4. Press and hold the watch power key for half a second immediately after you insert the cable into the USB-port (if the charging [in our case displays: Flash FS] begins return to the 2 step).
I've had the phone for over 6 months, it'd belonged to my sister before and everything was fine. I got a new phone recently and stopped using J. Just turned it off and put aside. I turned it back on today, it was working fine, until I wanted to do a wipe, nothing happened afterwards. I've had 360 security installed, thought it may be causing problems, so I uninstalled it. Then the phone was supposed to reset and so it did, but it didn't start again. Until this moment it hasn't shown even one sign of life, no random vibrations, no diodes flashing. I read about taking out the battery, powering it for hours, turning on with power+vol, power-vol, whatever. Nothing worked. When I connect it to the PC, it recognizes that something is being connected, tries to install a driver but immediately I get a message that it's failed. Any idea how I may solve this?
