Unfortunately my phone recently had a death match with my porcelain floor. The floor won taking out the honor 8 screen within seconds.
The good news is that the screen should be under warranty.
Currently there is a ticket with Huawei to get it repaired.
This was only yesterday that I submitted all the asked for information via email.
Now I am wondering about how long it takes for Huawei to get back to you. And how long it takes from sending the phone in to getting it back.
Anyone have experiences with return and repair?
i had an experience, tho , i live in india , and honor takes their time and it will be somewhat late.. but i cant tell anything about your region, depends totally upon the region,
In Malaysia, I heard it can take 2-3 weeks
They told me 7 to 10 days.
Unfortunately it is a OOW Repair. Screen destroyed.
They said I didn't register it on time, and I swear I did.
It was within the 3 month screen repair window, but not unusual for companies to be strict ( even if you messed up along the way)
as i said, defferent in defferent regions
The screen is under Honor's warranty for accidental damage?

The Screen is covered fully the first 3 months I believe.
As long as you register within the first 30 days (I thought I did)

The cost really isnt that bad for a screen repair.
I know that it was 100$ for me .
If I did it locally it would of been at least 180$ taking the same amount of time.
Seems as though most companies that do screen repair can only do samsung or Iphones.
Silly but I guess it makes sense for them not to carry all screens in stock.
How long is it in the US?
only 20 bucks more than the deductible on passport 2.0 for the axon 7. guess that warranty isn't so special
It took around a week in Finland for repairing the back glass.
Ok, my screen got repaired in the US recently. It took 10 days in total from the day I reported the broken screen glasses to the day I received the phone back. From the day that the repair center in TX, US received my UPS shipment to the day it got repaired and shipped out, it was 3 days, or 2 days from the day they noticed me by email that they have received my phone to the day they emailed me the phone has been shipped back to me. I consider this is a pretty good record for Customer Service like this in the US. The UPS return shipment from the repair center to me is Air shipping (two days). It came back with a Huawei box--despite I used a very small box to ship the phone to them--and a contact card and a Huawei pen. The screens -- front and back, as well as the frame--were all replaced with a new set, marked with FRD-L14 despite the original one was FRD-L04. The OS was reset by them, which I guess was done for testing the installation and so on. I didn't ship the phone to them immediately after I received the UPS label from Huawei; otherwise, it could be sooner, I guess. I am satisfied with the service so far.

Dropped the phone on the bottom frame and rolled down the stairs and then cracked the back and front glasses. The earjack plug hole got squeezed a little bit. That may be the worst scenario I can imagine. The phone was still functional as a tank. Glad they fixed everything for free very quickly
Here is a follow up of what has happened since my last post here.
I had to get the order for the out of warranty screen repair tied to the account. Mostly did this though phone conversations and they took my order number of the screen repair.
After a few days when they had to "verify" my information I finally received my UPS label.
They wanted everything packaged well and removed the Sim and SD card.
Dropped in my local UPS store.
It took about 4 days to get a verification that it was delivered to Texas. This was a Hauwei notification that said it was delivered.
Totally confused since it said delivered but had my address on the email I received.
The next day I received an email saying they have it in possetion and looking at what needs to be done.
A few more days go by.
Then I get a conformation that they are sending a replacement unit to me..
A few more days go by ( Over all 10 days total )
I received a box . It had a pen on top , a business card and a new phone in the bottom wrapped up in 4 different packaging.
This was not my old phone, I guess they didn't want to fix it .
The only issue I had was had to reinstall all of my apps and get everything set up .
So far its working well. Had a new case and screen protector I purchased to keep it from getting destroyed again.
Let me know if you have any questions about what happened.

Overall 10 days seem pretty common and relatively quick nowadays. If you had made a backup before sending it to them, you may have avoided the app reinstallation process. Thank you for sharing!

I forgot to mention that they overnighted the phone back to me.
So it was the next day air that I received the phone.
Very fast return time.
I was wondering if anyone here has had to replace the screen on their S8+ lately
and any pricing advice
mine broke in a weird spot almost like a stress crack

I had mine fixed at ifixandrepair for $250. OEM new Samsung screen, they showed me the box. I have square trade warranty, they said only one place in my area they worked with which was batteries plus. Batteries plus said they had to send it out, take about 3-5 days, was same price. Square Trade said i could take it to anyone i wanted but i'd have to pay for it and send them the bill. I had it back fixed in 2 hours and the reimbursement check in 3 days. The new screen is much brighter and colors are a lot more vivid and vibrant. Touch is perfect. Of course it's no longer water proof, which is to be expected. I love the phone, hate the fingerprint sensor location. Pre-ordered unlocked s9+ from samsung
Thank you,That sounds reasonable enough
I will keep them in mind when I have to get it done
I used Samsung without insurance and only ended up costing $170 but was without my phone for a week. Had to mail it to them. And it is still waterproof. Dropped it in the rain getting out the truck went back 10 mins later and found it, still working.

Anyone else broken their screen? Was golfing and hit a big bump and the phone fell out and hit the concrete. There are now several cracks through it but everything works fine. Luckily I bought the 6 month warranty but has anyone gone thru this? Website says 7-9 days. They offer no temporary replacement but I still have my old Samsung S8+. Not sure what other people would do in this situation.
I just chatted in and apparently I never activated my 6 month protection plan on the device. They had me contact Servify who said it is activated and the repair process goes through them not One Plus. This is strange
Also said the 6 month protection plan is a one time use so its void after this.
By the way this case was on it. No back glass damage and the bezel has one tiny chip in it that Im not worried about. I think it hit there initially
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RSJP1H4/
I broke My OP7 pro and sent it in for repair from Denmark to Poland through Oneplus
Price is aprox 164 euro
The repairdate is sofar estimated to 12 days from arrival to workshop(I'm still waiting that they start repairing)
dropped mine on the concrete on a parking lot..3 cracks on 3 corners
long story short: sent it for repair to the netherlands and after 1 week i got it back
i payed around 200€ and everything got replaced ( no warranty of course)
6 month warranty was $39, deductible is $49 so Im saving a little. Although they haven't asked for that $49 yet
Repair was approved by One Plus. Got a prepaid overnight FedEX shipping label, phone is going to the Acer Repair Center in TX. Now I need to backup everything ughhhh
I guess on the bright side I get to use my S8+ camera again haha
Bummer, but good they will repair it...
Think I have everything backed up. Dropping it off tonight
First time I ever broke a phone was with my 7 Pro I think it ended up being $227 or 247 total after everything to send to them, repair screen, and send back. No warranty obviously since again... Never even came close to breaking a phone prior to this one... But I've also always had Samsung devices with protecting cases. I kinda skimped on it this time so 100% my fault.

i had that case for 2 hours. it feels so nice but its so damn slippery. i returned it asap. using a encased scorpio, and am currently customizing a rhinoshield solidsuit.
Wow I have no complaints about the case. Not slippery at all!
Phone was delivered this morning and 9 minutes later One Plus said it was delivered. An hour later I get an email from Acer saying I need a new LCD Assembly and its $223.32US. I call and talk to the lady and tell her I have the warranty. She says they dont handle warranty claims and I need to send it to Servify. So they are overnighting it back to me so I can send it to Servify. Fun stuff

On to of the fact that there is no lip on this one. Almost like using nothing in it. Feels great but no protection
Just use ringke fusion x from now on, its the best case i might have dropped my phone twice and the phone is perfectly fine.
Servify emailed me 8 questions on Weds and I sent it back. Going on 48 hours since I sent it in and still no shipping label
I shipped it out on Aug 19th and just got a shipping notification today that its headed back to me. Ridiculous.
Got the phone back today so it took 17 days and 20+ emails with Servify. Screen is fixed and it also looks like they replaced the bezel. No damage anywhere and there was a film on the new screen. Phone was on when I checked it and all my settings remained. I hid 25 apps in the side drawer with a password and they were all still there. Text messages still there so it doesn't appear that they reset anything.
I opened my gallery and Im missing about 3 months of photos though and the ones that are there are dated August 12th when I took them May 25th. I backed up those photos so moving them back now but why would they be gone and the few that remain are dated wrong? Did they reset the device to an earlier date? Or did they give me a refurbished/new phone and port everything they could over ? I just checked the old IMEI versus this one and its the same
Servify is now telling me that the warranty is void and I cant get another one. Contacting One Plus next

So how much did this end up costing you overall? Or is that what you are currently contending?
$49, the deductible
I set my phone down and picked it up only to find dead Pixels in the lower right of the screen! Anyone else have this happen. I haven't dropped the phone or gotten it wet. I am sending it off to Samsung Thursday. I hope they fix it and don't come up with some excuse to to warranty the dead Pixels.
I've had this happen as well. I sent it off to be fixed but when it came back, the front display wasn't working. Now I'll have to send it off again...
What a mess. You would think they would just give you a new phone. They wanted me to take it to one of these fix it places here in Dallas. I opted to send it to the official samsung repair. We shall see.
Yep, me too
This just happened to me an hour ago. I have not damaged the phone in any way. I hope this doesn't turn out to be another Galaxy Fold debacle.
Update: I just called Sprint and since I am within the 30 day satisfaction window, they are going to replace my phone. If this happens again then I'll be highly disappointed!

Hey what was the update ? I live in dallas too. and I have exactly the same concern. Its good to know what they say before i go there.
Same here. I sent it in for repair, got slammed back with out of warranty due to an invisible scratch in a totally different spot, with their own admission is unrelated to the dead pixel and fault in the screen, and is only on the outer cover...but still invalidate warranty....I switched to Samsung 3 years ago, I might be trying google next...can't replace a good customer service when it matters.
I took my phone to the Samsung repair place uBreakiFix located at 6205 Coit Rd Suite 336, Plano, TX 75024. They fixed it under warranty. Now my phone is really getting hot. So hot is is starting to burn my face when I talk on it. Looks like i will be calling samsung again. I am afraid this thing is going to explode.
Dead Pixels x2!
I am already on my 2nd Galaxy Z Flip and now trying to get #3! My first phone developed a spot of dead pixels in the middle of the screen. They magically appeared less than 24 hours after I received it. It was only plugged in to charge overnight, so I know that they were not caused by me. It then took over 3 weeks of multiple calls to finally get it replaced! At first, they kept trying to get me to send it in for a refund, and then told me that I could just buy a new one to fix it. I told them that they were dumb and that this was not a logical option. I received this phone through the Samsung Device Insights program for 1/2 price and a replacement would cost me the full amount.
Finally, after spending another hour on the phone and telling my story for the 50th time, I finally got through to someone in a higher up support office. He agreed with me that the previous calls and my experiences were ridiculous. He took the time to contact a local authorized Samsung repair store where he could send a replacement phone for me to pick up. On the bright side, I only had to turn in the phone, and I got a completely brand new one in the box. He said I could keep all the accessories from the original phone. While it did take a few days longer than I was originally told, I did eventually get the new phone.
Fast forward to today, I have had this replacement device for exactly 20 days. I am presently at work and when I opened the phone to check my messages, I found MORE DEAD PIXELS! Just like the last phone, they are always visible, only this time they are at the top of the display. I made another call back into Samsung, and I am currently waiting for a return phone call from Anthony. He just so happens to be the same upper level support person that I spoke with last time. He was the only one that was able to get the phone swapped out. Now I am hoping he will call me back to get this taken care of again.
I will say that If I do not get a call today as promised, I am sending it back for a full refund and I will never again buy another Samsung product. I am leery about even getting a 3rd unit after the horrible experiences I have had. Have any of you had similar problems and did they get your defective phone screens repaired/replaced as promised? So far, I am very underwhelmed and think that Samsung has a long way to go to provide proper customer service.
Me too
I've had a Z flip for 5 months and tiny dead pixels on the top of screen.
I've never dropped nor wet.
I went to Samsung repair shop in London and they told me that they can't repair under warranty and I had to pay 99 pounds.
They mentioned that they could see tiny scratch on the screen which I couldn't see my eyes.
My friends told me that Samsung after care are terrible and I agree that.
I've been carefull this phone and I've never had a problem with dead pixels before.
I felt I was conned and very disappointed with Samsung
Today about 2 hours after waking up, I unlocked my phone and noticed that a dime size dead-zone at the bottom left of the phone. My phone has been in a case and a glass screen protector since taking it out of the box and I have never (knock on wood) dropped it whatsoever. If I took it out of the case and screen protector you would think it is a brand new phone never used. So now I have this dead zone that will not recover regardless of countless remedies, so I contact Google support as I am a member of Google one because I pay for the 100 gigabyte cloud storage. I sent the representative Hey picture of the dead zone and to my surprise he told me he told me " do not worry about this at all, I will start an RMA for you immediately". I was extremely pleased with how this was handled, an hour after talking with him, my entire screen died. I no longer can use my phone at all. Thank god it will be here in two days!
So you'll only have to slum it with an old device for a day or two, sweet!
Never had a problem with Google RMA process, always the reason I buy direct, piece of mind
In the UK - Google do a great job with their phones too for RMA. They sort you out relatively well
Even if you didnt buy direct
Update:
Got the new device yesterday, apparently they are refurbished and I noticed a nice big strand of white lint in-between the camera glass right on top of the main shooter. Obviously got in there when Google did whatever they do to refurbish phones.
Contacted them and so far they are refusing to swap this one out. I understand it's a little nit picky but I paid $900 for a brand new phone, it had a defect and the replacement now has a defect. That aside, it's absolutely killing my OCD. Could you imagine having to look at that stupid little piece of lint for years to come? If they ultimately stick with not doing an RMA on this I'm either selling and going for a OnePlus 8 pro or possibly even attempting to remove the camera glass square to get that little fu**** out.

Just call them back and do a second warranty, let them know your experiencing new problems, or tell them you want to do a buyer's remorse return & they'll do it. I did a buyers remorse after I bought the my pixel 3 xl twice last year, once at 2 months & the other at 4 months, (That's where they give your your money back).. I called them for a day over & over but they did what I wanted. don't let Google tell you what's gonna happen you tell them
