i just hope it fully fixes the freeze issue i fixed mine anyway with the cm7 nightly and that kernel cm7 0.1.3 the one with the new battery driver i think so far phone is going strong no reboots in like 3 days and thats coming from a 3+ reboots a day i believe the kernel was the problem

Yeah right.
good to hear! I was just thinking to root my phone. New to Android and never done this. Think I will hold off for a tad to see if this update comes out. Or is a root still the way to go? I mean will o interfere with the update?
I'm intrigued with the titanium backup. that and the terrible battery life are pushing me to consider rooting.

Yes you can still receive the update, but if u update u will loose the root.So just wait for a rooted version of the upcoming release n b good to go.

Pssh, I'll believe it when I see it. So far I had random reboots and now a jumpy screen that registers random touches by itself (on every ROM I've flashed). I've had random reboots, my device froze in lock, GPS is buggy........Getting good 4G speeds though.
Add this new date to the list of dates when this update will finally roll out: June, Summer, July, near-August, December 21, 2012. But if it gets here that soon, there's no way in hell you'll see me complaining! xD
that would be decent, hopefully new baseband, performance improvements, and etc. lets see what this brings

+1! Sad that my G1 had 5x better reception than this phone.
I'm very excited. From all the tmobile reps I've talked to, the ones who have gotten to sample say it makes the phone wayy smoother and performs much much faster. With this phone already so fast, this should be ultra cool. Hopefully it will cease the complaining.

No big deal - one click root is just that - do it again.
However, I have read a number of times that rooting (and deleted system apps) may block the update. But then you will just have to wait for a downloadable zip on this website - should be pretty quick I would think.
@gaww yea bro u know they'll have one up that day rooted lol
They better get on it before the sensation launches june 15.
the update has gotten delayed quite a bit, maybe its the duals that are making it hard for them to get it stable.

Don't start rooting/flashing or you'll be hooked. It turns into an addiction fairly quickly.
FWIW I have heard that the additional delay was because of 2.3.4 and not 2.3.3. Take it with a very large grain of salt.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but...you can't manually check for an update on this one. Sprint said that it will be pushed to your device when it's your turn. Which means...expect it some time later this week if you haven't gotten it already.

That's what we're waiting for. Without a doubt, there are people out there that have JB for their NS4Gs, but they wouldn't have any clue how to upload a zip, or wouldn't care for that matter. For them it's just a routine update, to iron out a bug or two. How many end users do you think even know what project butter is??? Probably just us.
Just make sure that if you get that update, to take your Logcat so someone on here can get the file from the URL.

Well, Samsung has finally announced the list of phones that will get 4.4 and the S3 is on the list. Now we just wait for Verizon to send it out to us.

Doesn't help those that took the 4.3 OTA. I agree that 4.4.2 AOSP ROMs are rounding out very nicely. Although TW has the benefit of all the phone's hardware working correctly.

Do we know yet if there are any major differences between the leaked build and the official OTA build? If not, I would just flash the leaked one instead of going with the official AT&T route. If there aren't too many bugs I don't see any reasons not to.
Hopefully we'll get a new modem because the latest one was horrible for me.

No trick needed, they just decided not to increment the qfuse version with the MLD leak. It's almost guaranteed the official version will have an updated value and will not allow for reversion. We'll know for sure when I can get the new aboot.

It's only 31 minutes past midnight on the eastern seaboard. I wouldn't expect AT&T to push the update until much later in the day... say around 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST. Granted, that's only a guess on my part, they could be rolling it out as I type this.

So, lemme guess.
On the upside, we get KitKat, probably stable.
On the downside, it's AT&T, да им еба путката майна на тия лайнари.
I am no dev, but I selfishly and fervently wish the devs here unsurmountable amounts of luck rooting it.
I have a weird question regarding root....would there be a slight chance of getting an old exploit to work as we get more and more updates on our phones or are the old exploits patched up for good?

This is AT&T, and they want their phones locked "for consistent user experience", so it's highly likely they were so late delivering the update - "Lock&bloat!". Locking the loopholes.
After I check for the OTA, and it's still not up why does it say I can check back in 91 hours? It's usually 24 hrs......does that even really matter or can I check every hour if I wanted to?

The next nexus will most likely have a faster processor and wireless charging. If that is important to you then I would wait. Also, I wouldn't put an ounce of faith in Cyanogenmod giving timely updates to the software of the phone. I would be very surprised if they were able to get an update out 6 months after the next version of android is released.

CM builds from AOSP source. They'll have whatever Google updates in just mere hours up to 2 days. CM11 kitkat was out so fast after it was released. Just cause they didn't decide to make a thread on xda right off the bat doesn't mean it wasn't out.

Well, it depends on how they plan on updating it. Are they going to build the nightlies directly for the OnePlus One? Or only release "stable" milestones? Since the site says that it is a customized version of CM you may not get those customized features in nightlies if they are released.

I am sure they will allow you to unlock the phone and flash the CM nightlies if you want same with the nexus. If they were smart, they would know people like us would do that considering that seems to be the market in my opinion. It probably won't have the customized features but I am sure ROM developers will jump on it, especially with all of the CM ROMs floating around.
To the OP: It won't be availble for sometime, you have to be invited to buy it or join the smash deal. But if both phones were available I would definitely get the oneplusone (I was sold on the JBL stereo speakers).
