Baseband version: I337UCUFNB1
Build number: KOTH49H.1337UCUFNB1

Definitely looks like it's incredibly likely they corrected the trick to flash back to MK2 after updating like we could with the leaked 4.4 build.

Differences?

Do we know yet if there are any major differences between the leaked build and the official OTA build? If not, I would just flash the leaked one instead of going with the official AT&T route. If there aren't too many bugs I don't see any reasons not to.

Hopefully we'll get a new modem because the latest one was horrible for me.

We won't know until after we get our hands on the files... or until someone test the theory.

I'll give you the ups and downs after I update if you want?

No trick needed, they just decided not to increment the qfuse version with the MLD leak. It's almost guaranteed the official version will have an updated value and will not allow for reversion. We'll know for sure when I can get the new aboot.

Wow. This should be good news, but I find it incredibly depressing. I'm definitely leaving AT&T once my contract is up. This locked phone business just sucks.

Haven't got anything yet, just checked for an update lol

It's only 31 minutes past midnight on the eastern seaboard. I wouldn't expect AT&T to push the update until much later in the day... say around 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM EST. Granted, that's only a guess on my part, they could be rolling it out as I type this.

So, lemme guess.
On the upside, we get KitKat, probably stable.
On the downside, it's AT&T, да им еба путката майна на тия лайнари.
I am no dev, but I selfishly and fervently wish the devs here unsurmountable amounts of luck rooting it.

I have a weird question regarding root....would there be a slight chance of getting an old exploit to work as we get more and more updates on our phones or are the old exploits patched up for good?

This is AT&T, and they want their phones locked "for consistent user experience", so it's highly likely they were so late delivering the update - "Lock&bloat!". Locking the loopholes.

After I check for the OTA, and it's still not up why does it say I can check back in 91 hours? It's usually 24 hrs......does that even really matter or can I check every hour if I wanted to?

i just hope it fully fixes the freeze issue i fixed mine anyway with the cm7 nightly and that kernel cm7 0.1.3 the one with the new battery driver i think so far phone is going strong no reboots in like 3 days and thats coming from a 3+ reboots a day i believe the kernel was the problem

Yeah right.
good to hear! I was just thinking to root my phone. New to Android and never done this. Think I will hold off for a tad to see if this update comes out. Or is a root still the way to go? I mean will o interfere with the update?
I'm intrigued with the titanium backup. that and the terrible battery life are pushing me to consider rooting.

Yes you can still receive the update, but if u update u will loose the root.So just wait for a rooted version of the upcoming release n b good to go.

Pssh, I'll believe it when I see it. So far I had random reboots and now a jumpy screen that registers random touches by itself (on every ROM I've flashed). I've had random reboots, my device froze in lock, GPS is buggy........Getting good 4G speeds though.
Add this new date to the list of dates when this update will finally roll out: June, Summer, July, near-August, December 21, 2012. But if it gets here that soon, there's no way in hell you'll see me complaining! xD
that would be decent, hopefully new baseband, performance improvements, and etc. lets see what this brings

+1! Sad that my G1 had 5x better reception than this phone.
I'm very excited. From all the tmobile reps I've talked to, the ones who have gotten to sample say it makes the phone wayy smoother and performs much much faster. With this phone already so fast, this should be ultra cool. Hopefully it will cease the complaining.

No big deal - one click root is just that - do it again.
However, I have read a number of times that rooting (and deleted system apps) may block the update. But then you will just have to wait for a downloadable zip on this website - should be pretty quick I would think.
@gaww yea bro u know they'll have one up that day rooted lol
They better get on it before the sensation launches june 15.
the update has gotten delayed quite a bit, maybe its the duals that are making it hard for them to get it stable.

Don't start rooting/flashing or you'll be hooked. It turns into an addiction fairly quickly.
FWIW I have heard that the additional delay was because of 2.3.4 and not 2.3.3. Take it with a very large grain of salt.

Yesterday Slayher tweeted that the next tb rom fixes all known, root exploits. I would guess that for him to say something as a matter of fact like that would indicate someone has a leak and that it's already confirmed to be true.

Anyone receive the gingerbread (2.3) OTA update yet?

I figured people could post here to let other Charge users know when it starts rolling out
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
Forgot to add that the update is supposed to begin Monday night (today) or Tuesday (tomorrow)
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
I heard it's supposed to start rolling out tomorrow. I'm not sure how many people will actually go back to stock to receive this update. I am going to wait until an official ROM is released. Danalo has a Humble test rom based on the OTA posted on his twitter.
Yeah most people probably won't. I did just to see what the updates will be like but I'll most likely go back to a custom rom after.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
I do know that Verizon does roll out earlier than the date specified. But, you have to know that the amount of people of this thread only makes up a small amount of the total of Charge users.
I might revert and download the OTA just to see what its like then root and debloat to test for bugs/stability

Its supposedly starting at noon and since Verizon is based in NJ it will most likely be eastern time. So people should start getting it in a half hour.

4.2 ROMS

So everyone knows that today was the official announcement of android 4.2 and the devices that will have them pre-installed. How long do you guys think it will take to get a ROM up for the GS3?
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Well depends when the source is released then complied and bug tested and posted here. I would say 2 days to 2 months depending how much it has to be tweaked to run right.
Samsung has a headstart probably because of its galaxy nexus series phones,so probably other galaxy series phones will get it fast too?? i would say less than one month from now.SGS 3 is still one of Samsung's flagship models still though. :good:

I wish I could be done with VZW. Wish wish wish.. I just need the the coverage. I'm so tired of them. The only time I have to deal with them is when I have exchange a defected device.. Which happens every time I buy one but it's enough. I pay $90 a month for unlimited data/txt and 450 minutes. So I'm happy about that. Oh yeah, I deal with them when I want control of my device. They don't want me (or anyone) to have it.

The only update I've ever dealt with was last year with my S4 when it upgraded from the MDK baseband. I don't remember the original one, but I remember I lucked out big time and when I ruined my phone and got a new one when I turned it on it basically almost immediately did an OTA to which I put in airplane mode to stop. Now I'm not 100% sure but I don't remember having to click yes or OK for that OTA

But if people have already accepted OTA before now, they are OK, right? Because this exploit is very new so I doubt it would've been fixed before that. The first fix I see for linux was on June 4th and I have no idea how that translates to phone OTAs

Most likely you are correct. The OTA they have been pushing is older so it's likely that the exploit will still work. I wouldn't accept any at all however if you can avoid it. I'd imagine they'll push the patch for this soon.
How do we know if our phones have the update already? I got a new s5 and have had zero Ota pop up since I got it 3 weeks ago.
