Well how 'bout dat!? - Samsung Gear S2

Just figured out I could play music during my workout just using my GS2! No phone required! "Apparently" I could load a large number of songs on my watch, pair with my BT headsets, and listen off that without being burdened with a phone in the gym. Well aren't I quick on the uptake? I don't use my watch alot but this will come in handy.
Now if I could just get my watch to count my reps...

You CAN count your reps, either with s health itself or with third party apps you'll find in the store!

Stayfit+ app will count reps

Explain how S Health counts reps. All I can get it to do is time exercises. Understand I have a S2 with no new update.

OF COURSE!
Nope! New OS does not count reps for weights. It still just measures time and heartrate (inaccurately). Oh well. I guess I have to count myself. Ah... 1st world problems!

[Q] Help to find Stolen phone, Still appear in Play Store with Different SIM

Hi,
My Samsung Galaxy S2 was stolen recently. But I see it appear in Google Play Store with different operator name but under my Google account. And can install apps through web.
Could someone give me some ideas on how I could locate or call the person who is using the phone? Please Please.
I tried SamsungDive but since the sim is changed it's asking to register again.

Incase someone else is looking for solution,
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lookout.labs.planb&hl=en
Plan B is the 'find my phone' app that you download AFTER you lose your phone.Plan B is your last resort to find your missing phone.
This is the first and only 'find my phone' app that you download AFTER you've already lost your phone. Having Lookout on your phone is the best way to protect your phone and find it fast, but use Plan B if you have already lost your phone and didn't have Lookout installed.
Follow these easy steps to use Plan B:
1. Install Plan B to the phone that you are trying to find from the Android Market website: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.lookout.labs.planb.
2. Plan B will start automatically and send your phone’s location to your Gmail address.
3. To locate again after 10 minutes, borrow a friend’s phone and text the word “locate” to your lost phone.
Using Plan B is simple, but requires access to the Android Market website and your Google account. (If you have an Android phone, you already have a Google account.)
After you install it, Plan B will start locating your phone using cell towers and GPS. On some phones, Plan B can switch GPS on automatically. Your location will keep updating for 10 minutes, and you will get an email each time it is located, whether the phone is moving or standing still. You can start the process again by texting “locate” to your number from any other phone. In order to locate your phone, we send you a text via SMS, so standard message rates apply.
Once you have found your phone, download Lookout Mobile Security for full protection.
Technical Details
=================
* You'll get one email message when Plan B starts, and up to 5 other messages as it refines your phone's location or tracks it as it moves.
* Each location email will include an accuracy rating in meters.
* Plan B will attempt to launch as soon as it downloads, but in some cases you will need to send an SMS to get it started.
* Note that your location is only sent to the Gmail address that is already associated with your phone; nobody else can access your location using Plan B.
* U.S. Users: If a data connection is not available, Plan B will use mobile-originated SMS messages to send your location to your email address. Regular SMS rates may apply.

doesnt others have such a thing to locate the phone?

Keep Cerberus and Avast! in mind in the future. They'll save you a major headache.
Avast! Works very well with Cyanogenmod but if you dont want to root you can use Lookout. Plan B is also their app.

Planb made by lookout, which is also a great app, is good however look at user reviews and notice that it is obviously turned on.
I would recommend turning on the phone asap or at night. Regardless I would install lookout and plan b BEFORE it is lost. And ounce of prevention is worth more than a pound of cure.
Plan B works great! Update us on how it goes!

Samsung Galaxy S2 ICS Stolen
Hi Guys,
My galaxy s2 was stolen while i was travelling in train. Mcafee is not able to locate it as well as samsung dive failed too.The version is ICE cream sandwhich so even PLAN B wont work as of now on this ! Only option left is tracking through IMEI number. Have reported cops and they are searching too. Could anyone please tell me how to track the mobile in such situation. LATITUDE is saying no recent history. any other app that works like plan b even after the mobile is stolen or any way of tracking through IMEI ALONE itself ? or any method thats too technical.

Does owner of Titanium Backup drive a Lamborghini?

Hey guys I was looking in the play store and I saw that titanium backup pro key has 500,000+ downloads while its charged at $6.58. So the founder of it must be pretty rich and probably drives a Lamborghini or Ferrari, right?
500,000 x 6.58 = $3,290,000

I'll take a stab at this ... lets assume that he gets 100% of the proceeds from sales (based on your maths above).
Now, lets take taxes into consideration. But, before we do that we have to know over what time frame these sales occurred. Tax brackets are based on your annual income, so this is important. The best I can determine is that the first release was sometime in 2010. So lets assume it's three years old.
Lets also assume they consistently sell the same amount of licenses per year at the same price for simplicity's sake.
3,290,000 / 3 = $1,096,666 per year.
That puts them smack into the highest tax bracket of 39.6% per year. So ...
$1,096,666 * .396 = $434,248 paid in taxes. Also, assuming they keep good books and aren't too clever with their taxes, investments, write off's ect. Too many variables to consider here.
So, that means, that before paying staff, paying overhead (again which deals with complexity of write-offs, deductions, etc so we'll skip that) they pulled in:
$1,096,666 - $434,248 = $663,386
Now you have to factor in misc living expenses such as mortgage, utilities, beer, etc ...
IIMHO ..... No, they do not drive exotic sports cars. But they could very well be living comfortably when you consider the median US household income is only $50,233.00.

I think I read once that although people think they can multitask, the human brain isn't capable if doing it. And one or both tasks will suffer as a result. Just my 2 pennies.
Computers also can't do it, and the tasks suffer. It's called "context switch overhead". However, if the processors are fast enough - you can lose the overhead and still be capable of doing whatever phones are doing these days.

you should assume that any electronic communications that you do, is not private.
Has anyone actually looked at their tos (terms of service) to see if this IS legitmately a breach of contract? I'm not surprised nor do I ultimately care that I'm being recorded...I figured as much but I have nothing to hide either. What DOES upset me is that we were not notified of such....Most states require that we must let the other party know if we are recording them...but then the government totally blows that off and just does it without our knowledge (even if we pretty much assumed they did)....and the whole lets sacrifice our privacy in order to offer better security for our country...uh no...I don't trust anyone but myself, wife and daughter for my security heh. Again....just curious as to if anyone has checked or knows of the actual legalities of this and if it IS indeed a breach of contract.

Ho hummm...... the NSA has been intercepting all our calls and processing the voice and data for many years now, so Verizon forking over a few bills and records doesn't mean a lot .
Its all covered by the Intelligence Oversight Act which says that congress has oversight and must be informed , so they are all complicit in this violation of our constitutional rights, so who you gonna call, the UN?

Yes. I have a Neo but still is relevent to Gear 2.
The lack of apps and not being able to sideload is irritating right now but I believe when development progresses we will get these things. I refuse to pay a dollar for a calculator app or 2048. I would like to have them on my watch but think they are taking advantage. I just gave samsung 200 dollars for my neo, they should provide more free useful apps.

It's true that 3rd party devs made the apps in their free time and I guess should be getting some money out of them but its really frustrating that Samsung released its watch that is starting to get popular with pretty much no apps available. And now when they realized their mistake they decided to launch the app challenge. The users are growing in numbers and the app store isn't keeping up. And paying $2 for a simple calculator app is pretty unheard of. Devs think since there are no apps they can scale the prices and I guess it does make sense but the fact remains that Samsung did a pretty dumb move here by not giving us any apps at launch cuz of their port to Tizen
My issue is is moot. One of our own XDA developers made a free calc app and had it approved by Samsung and is in the Samsung apps. Please feel free to buy smeiff a beer if you like and use his app.

I'll be pairing it with an android phone(s9+ or maybe a71 in the near future) and would like to have heart rate monitor and support to recieve all my notifications would be nice. I feel like I'm asking for a reasonable trade off here in what I can or can't sacrifice, but if not, enlighten me what's reasonable to expect from a $50 smartwatch?

Maybe it would help if you gave the name and brand of the watches you are wondering about.

Just saw a review of the OnePlus Smartwatch. Looks pretty solid for not much money!
