Hello
I have this nexus 5 that is in permanent boot loop because somehow the power button signal is switched on and off continuously.
This is not a power button switch fault because i desoldered and removed it. I also checked that the + pin is not grounded(this is the main cause for all other cases of bootloops).
I know that the power signal is send continuously because if i press the volume down button it gets in bootloader mode and i can get up to reboot bootloader(by pressing volume down) and then the power signal activates it like i was pressing the power button(while now there is no power button at all).
I also checked that the + trace had continuity up to the firs resistor like in the picture below
It does this while it gets connected to the charger, when it is disconnected it doesn't power on at all.

My power button was working fine yesterday morning and once in the afternoon
i can't use to power button to make my phone sleep/wake but so i use slide to wake
For somereason now my phone turns on only when i take the battery out then back in, like i changed to settings some how?
when i'm in recovery and it says "press the power button" my phone would do that by itself.. Is it just me?... i flashed the new cm9, then formated everything to see fi it was cm9, but it wasn't.... so yeah now i can't acess the power menu...
I think the button is jamed because it would go on by itself in bootloader, but if that was true it would keep on turning on and off when im on my phone...
I don't think my phone is smart enough to reconfigure itself to turn on by itself when i put in a battery or when i take out the charger..
Can you upload some focused pictures?
LOL itried.... with my samsung camera, didn't focus well ... sorry
my power button worked again, but after like 10 minutes i can't use it

My Phone keeps rebooting, goes to the Carrier screen, then Windows Phone screen
and then keeps rebooting.
Is something wrong.
Edit: I have clicked Cancel, and now my phone is still stuck in Boot loop.
Update: I preformed a hard factory reset by using
Method 2
Switch the phone off.
Press and hold the Volume Down, Power and Camera buttons at the same time.
When the phone vibrates release the Power button but keep the Camera and Volume Down buttons held for a further five seconds.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Phone is now working.
NEVER PREFORMING UPDATE AGAIN. It's risky.
Don't worry. Is not easy to damage Nokia.
you could also use NSS, why updating, just do unlock

this app can help to improve life time off the power button.
My daughter handed me her phone, as she was trying to lock the screen, but the button at the top of the screen wasn't responding. So I held it down for a few seconds to restart the device, which worked, however the following screen appeared:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The only button which responds is the volume up button (which moves the selection down). Volume down and power button don't do anything.
Is the phone bricked?
Thanks.
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
No, the device is not completely bricked, its only soft bricked. That looks like the Bootloader screen to me, You should be able to flash it with its stock firmware to recover the device but I need you to post the model number of the device and the mobile network it is on. Then I can try to help you find the files you'll need and the instructions you'll need to recover the device.
Hi I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me troubleshoot my device before I take it to a shop. I was browsing on it today and it froze and black screened (80%+) battery. When trying to plug into the computer and power into fastboot (Power + Vol Down) I get an audible that the computer is registering the device for a moment before it instantly disconnects. I tried booting via ADB but it's unable to connect to the phone as it's instantly dc'ing. Regular fastboot and power cycling did nothing, this has been a past issue but has been resolved by simply plugging in and waiting ~10 minutes which does not seem to be working this time

I've got it to recognize in my device manager yet ADB is not detecting it at all. (Worried the device is not in M2P mode), any suggestions are welcome
Update: Holding the power button for the (100th time at least). Let my phone boot up
