My power button was working fine yesterday morning and once in the afternoon
i can't use to power button to make my phone sleep/wake but so i use slide to wake
For somereason now my phone turns on only when i take the battery out then back in, like i changed to settings some how?
when i'm in recovery and it says "press the power button" my phone would do that by itself.. Is it just me?... i flashed the new cm9, then formated everything to see fi it was cm9, but it wasn't.... so yeah now i can't acess the power menu...
I think the button is jamed because it would go on by itself in bootloader, but if that was true it would keep on turning on and off when im on my phone...
I don't think my phone is smart enough to reconfigure itself to turn on by itself when i put in a battery or when i take out the charger..
Can you upload some focused pictures?
LOL itried.... with my samsung camera, didn't focus well ... sorry
my power button worked again, but after like 10 minutes i can't use it

Pics say it all! And I've only had it for a week.
It started flickering & shut off. I couldn't get it to boot back up & held the power button for 10 seconds. That restarted it. Then it just kept freezing. I was able to get in quick enough to do a factory reset, still on most recent stock rom. It held for about 10 minutes after reset, then started freezing showing the crazy screens. NOW, it won't even boot up. Tried it with & without power cord attached, held power down for 10 secs, 20 secs, 30 secs, etc. Luckily I got photos when i did. :-(

Definite return. It's either a bad screen or a bad connection. Software won't fix that.
Hi I bought a Nokia Lumia 710 today.
It said there was an update avalialbe so I installed Zune and started the update
It has been saying Restarting your phone for like more than five minutes now

My Phone keeps rebooting, goes to the Carrier screen, then Windows Phone screen
and then keeps rebooting.
Is something wrong.
Edit: I have clicked Cancel, and now my phone is still stuck in Boot loop.
Update: I preformed a hard factory reset by using
Method 2
Switch the phone off.
Press and hold the Volume Down, Power and Camera buttons at the same time.
When the phone vibrates release the Power button but keep the Camera and Volume Down buttons held for a further five seconds.
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Phone is now working.
NEVER PREFORMING UPDATE AGAIN. It's risky.
Don't worry. Is not easy to damage Nokia.
you could also use NSS, why updating, just do unlock
I opened up an app that I know is currently buggy and freezes up my device...... but i tried it again hoping "maybe this time it will be okay"... it wasnt, everything froze up and i had to do a manual restart (hold down the power button until reboot).
But is this kind of a power jump, when the device was only frozen for about 30 seconds, normal to expect, or is it another sign that my battery is slowly getting crappier?
Ive attached a screen cap with the specific part im referring to circled.

It would be little bit difficult to determine the cause of the power spike but as you said
I know is currently buggy and freezes up my device.

it might be a problem with the app. You can try to update it and see if it worked. It might also be caused due to low memory.
My daughter handed me her phone, as she was trying to lock the screen, but the button at the top of the screen wasn't responding. So I held it down for a few seconds to restart the device, which worked, however the following screen appeared:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The only button which responds is the volume up button (which moves the selection down). Volume down and power button don't do anything.
Is the phone bricked?
Thanks.
Hello,
Welcome to XDA.
No, the device is not completely bricked, its only soft bricked. That looks like the Bootloader screen to me, You should be able to flash it with its stock firmware to recover the device but I need you to post the model number of the device and the mobile network it is on. Then I can try to help you find the files you'll need and the instructions you'll need to recover the device.
Hello
I have this nexus 5 that is in permanent boot loop because somehow the power button signal is switched on and off continuously.
This is not a power button switch fault because i desoldered and removed it. I also checked that the + pin is not grounded(this is the main cause for all other cases of bootloops).
I know that the power signal is send continuously because if i press the volume down button it gets in bootloader mode and i can get up to reboot bootloader(by pressing volume down) and then the power signal activates it like i was pressing the power button(while now there is no power button at all).
I also checked that the + trace had continuity up to the firs resistor like in the picture below
It does this while it gets connected to the charger, when it is disconnected it doesn't power on at all.
