Try flashing your stock firmware again via Odin. If you had 4.3 with the unlockable bootloader then flash that, if you had anything newer than that then you'll have to flash exactly what you had or newer because once you took the 4.3 with the bootloader that can't be unlocked then that means you will NEVER EVER be able to go back to an older version, you can ONLY use exactly what you had or newer.

No, you'll have to Odin cwm again. This is why I tell people to use the sammobile tar

I had the same problem after reverting to stock. I followed below procedure and am able to upgrade to 2.3.6.
"Use Kies. Open Kies without your phone plugged in. Go to tools, Firmware Upgrade and Initialization, enter your device info (in caps). It will then offer to reload your software. Follow the on screen instructions.
Once you're back on 2.3.5, you can OTA to 2.3.6, if you want."

JB OTA Verizon Issue?

I installed the OTA tonight after I ran Voodoo Root Keeper. CWM installed the update. I was playing around with my Call Recorder and ALSA and had to reboot the phone a couple of times. After one of those reboots the phone displayed a warning from Verizon ... something along the lines of I had unauthorized software installed and to take my phone to a Verizon location. I could not get the phone to boot into recovery. My only option was ODIN to an older version, re-root and restore to a Nandroid I did before installing the OTA. I have not seen that message from Verizon before so not sure if it's something new or not but I will not install an OTA again. Also not sure why the message was displayed.
You installed the ota update with cwm?

Yes but I heard that creates problems
Why just not Odin to stock, take the ota then reroot?

I agree with Hulk0069. I think it's safe to say that if this happens multiple times for people who accepted the OTA via CWM, their bootloader is relocking in the process. I've only heard OTA Rootkeeper being used to maintain root, however that's different from maintaining an unlocked bootloader. We have a secured bootloader so my thinking is that this clearly is relocked in the JB OTA, which is expected.
Ywalker, the unauthorized warning was your phone telling you that your bootloader was locked. You only get that warning when you try flashing roms/kernels prior to unlocking your bootloader.

I could not find the post
I have been looking for my post and could not find it. I see it was moved. I apologize for not following the rules. I will try to keep that to a minimum. I realized the bootloader was locked. I am going to try updating again to JB today.

[Q] I think I killed my Verizon Galaxy S3

I was attempting to root my S3. Wasn't paying attention and I flashed the wrong com port in ODIN. After it failed I looked at ODIN and it had flashed on the second slot from the right, as you look at ODIN when working with it. I did not even know you could do that. Anyway this is the error I get anytime I attempt to flash back to stock "System software not authorized by Verizon Wireless has been found on your phone. Please turn of your phone and go to the nearest Verizon Wireless store for help" I know this cannot be good at all!
1. post in the correct section for best results. if you cant find your thread itll probably be moved tit he QandA section.
2. i believe that message means your bootloader is locked. Ive never odined and dont know if it matters. but i believe thats what the error means.

Follow instructions EXACTLY!
After you've completed the procedure and all is working as it should run EZ Unlock from here:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/32456-app-920-ez-unlock-14-easiest-way-to-unlock-your-bootloader/ (use ONLY the 1.2 version! Later ones may not work.)
Once you've done that you can flash any ROM you want.

So what is the purpose of ez bootloader now? I remember that was part of the original instructions for rooting the galaxy s3 when I first got it, but then the instructions changed for Jelly Bean and didn't reference that app any longer . . . I thought that app wasn't needed any longer . . . Am I mistaken on that?
It was a while back that this happened. So you are most likely correct. All I know is that at that time I had the same message. Once I re-flashed the phone, the ROM that I was trying to flash that I originally could not, I was then able to flash after running the ez bootloader. Just thought I would share.

Folks, it's called EZ Unlock which unlocks your bootloader. It is not called EZ Bootloader.
Sorry... You are absolutely correct. My bad.... Ez unlock
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
I prefer using EZ Unlock to unlock my bootloader because it unlocks the bootloader that is already on your phone rather than flashing the VRALE6 bootchain that I'm not sure if its even a jelly bean bootloader.

Well how about I make it somewhat clearer? The VRALE6 bootloader is not a JB bootloader, it's the prerelease, pre-finalized software unlocked bootloader. Each of the JB bootloaders are locked, same as all the ICS ones. EZ Unlock flashes the VRALE6 bootloader onto your phone soooooo you're using it either way. It's inescapable!

[Q] Upgrading LTE drivers

I have an HTC M8 w/ the original software that came w/ it. I'm bootloader unlocked and am running CM. I'm getting really bad signal, I know that these things were addressed in a few otas. Is there any way to upgrade the Baseband and LTE?
Also interested, I don't see any firmware threads anywhere.
edit: found it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2727831
I flashed the firmware package but you can just flash the radio.

This is what you're looking for. You'll follow the link and want to flash the firmware with no boot img. When your updating like that, it's always best to flash the full firmware.

Thanks for the "Quote" otherwise I would of never seen this post!
When I was on the S4 you could just flash the baseband update w/ new radios and stuff. Is this not possible anymore?
Gonna dissect the RUU and try to flash via fastboot.
Doing this in the Next 5 mins. If this bricks, do tell.
UPDATE:
It failed, nothing happened, I just want an radio update.zip or something.

You'll want the firmware with out the boot img. You'll flash via fastboot.
Santod does have a radio only in there, but I'd recommend the full firmware (the one without the boot img, of course).

M8 Stagefright patch apply to s-off, rooted, unlocked & Stock

Hi,
I see the Stagefright patch came out today. I'm on Stock Rooted Lollipop with S-off and unlocked. My phone was able to download the patch but then went to TWRP recovery so no dice.
I'm aware of the process needed to get the OTA to work. Just wondering if any side-loadable forms of the Stagefright patch may be forthcoming from some of the genius developers around here. Obviously want the fix but not so sure about having to undue everything on my phone.
Otherwise, is the best suggestion to reflash stock recovery and then take the OTA? IS it true this won't re-lock my phone or S-On it again? Seems if these remain unchanged from current state I would have easier time.
Thanks for ANY advice. Always appreciate it.
I just noticed that my phone was downloading the OTA, im s-off,stock,5.0.1. I see you took the OTA, did you have any issues with the phone? Im currently trying to figure out if i should take it, just dont want to brick my phone or anything
I would just sit tight. Someone is bound to extract the contents and post a flashable zip with confidence that it won't cause any problems. Give it a day or 3.
My phone downloaded, went into recovery. Saw that it was TWRP and didn't do anything. So technically, the download didn't take. I will wait as the next comment suggests....flashable zip is surely inbound.
Thanks!

Thanks a million Santo! But is that stagefright patch only flashable through stock recovery, not TWRP? Just want to be sure.
