I have an HTC M8 w/ the original software that came w/ it. I'm bootloader unlocked and am running CM. I'm getting really bad signal, I know that these things were addressed in a few otas. Is there any way to upgrade the Baseband and LTE?
Also interested, I don't see any firmware threads anywhere.

I flashed the firmware package but you can just flash the radio.

This is what you're looking for. You'll follow the link and want to flash the firmware with no boot img. When your updating like that, it's always best to flash the full firmware.

When I was on the S4 you could just flash the baseband update w/ new radios and stuff. Is this not possible anymore?
Gonna dissect the RUU and try to flash via fastboot.
Doing this in the Next 5 mins. If this bricks, do tell.
UPDATE:
It failed, nothing happened, I just want an radio update.zip or something.

You'll want the firmware with out the boot img. You'll flash via fastboot.
Santod does have a radio only in there, but I'd recommend the full firmware (the one without the boot img, of course).

I'm pretty sure that it's going to take a long time for KT to update to JB. M200's update is from KT not Google. That's why it takes more time for M200 than other variants. But you can always root and flash custom ROMs like me.

Thanks for all guidance.
I have managed to update my Nexus-S (M200-Korean) to Jelly Bean.
First I updated with the stock image of international version using this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...20&postcount=1
This changed the baseband version from M200 to XXXKl1
After reboot I was able to get 4.1.1 via OTA
I haven't seen any problems so far
Are there any that I may not have experienced yet?

Radio compatitability depends on where u live.
If you experienced problem, look for this thread

And flash krkc1 again.
If it's not compatitable, it can cause sudden signal drops and low mobile data speed.(afaik)

This is the link. Follow only the first procedure. Then you would automatically get JB via OTA.

I am from Kolkata,India.Using m200 korean model.Have the same problem as the threadstarter.I guess when you're using it smoothly then inshallah,i too would.
Just to be pretty sure, you're telling me to follow ONLY this:
First up, let me tell you that doing this is not necessay to get the OTA or having a smooth JB experience. The JB OTA installs without a wipe which means the data is preserved.
UPDATE: Google has put up the full image for 4.1.1 [i9023, i9020a and i9020t] . Now you do not need to clean flash ICS and then JB. Follow the part 1 of the guide below and flash the JB image instead of ICS. Nothing more to it.
Thanks anshumandash for pointing it out
That being said, I wanted to have the real stock image on my Nexus S and then Upgrade to JellyBean. Below are the steps that I took.
Go to this GoogleAndroidImages page and download the appropriate image for your phone & download. Since mine is an international version a.k.a I9023, I chose that ROM.
The download will be a tar.gz file. Use a utility like 7Zip to uncompress it. The tar.gz will have a .tar file inside and the /tar file will have a folder. Extract the folder to your PC. For my download, the folder was named soju-imm76d
Next Steps will wipe your phone, completely
Reboot your phone into bootloader mode.
Open a command prompt, navigate to the folder in step 2.
Enter the below commands, the image file names are for my download, modify it to the file names in your folder before running (I assume that you have fastboot working)
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-crespo-i9020xxkl1.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio-crespo-i9020xxki1.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot -w update image-soju-imm76d.zip

But proceed with caution and download factory ICS image from google.

Hi everyone,
My verizon galaxy s3 right now has a baseband of I535VRLHE.
First I was wondering which baseband is most recent, I have heard of MB1, MF1, etc. I know where to get these software updates but I have not found out how to actually update the baseband. Right now, I am jumping between many roms but as of this moment I am on an unofficial cm 10.1 build. They suggest getting on MF1 modem, but I really have no idea how do it.
Thanks for the help,
PS: I looked for quite a while so please don't tell me to keep looking or something like that.

What modem do you guys suggest flashing to. Right now I am on I535VRLHE and by my understanding that is extremely outdated. So just to make sure again no wiping anything, no formatting, no anything? And I should be flashing an update in either twrp or cwm? I know these questions sound stupid when I said I flash roms daily, but I really do not want to risk bricking my beloved s3 hahaha.
Thanks for taking your time to help me.
from what i understand the modem that works best for you will depend mostly on location. they might get better as they update, but i get teh same signal on the latest as I did on a modem from a few updates ago.
you can download the all in one packages here
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/34053-firmware-vrbmf1-modemrpmtzsbl-verizon-sgs3-sch-i535/
reboot into recovery, then flash, reboot back to the ROM. if youre worried, make a backup. things can always go wrong i guess.
Ok thank you again, another question haha sorry. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788313&page=6 In this thread, the first few pages say to flash via odin and what not none of them confirm being able to flash through recovery. Have you ever flashed a radio through recovery?
Also what advantages does an AIO have compared to just the modem.

I understand that I can use Odin to do a full rom flash however but I don't want to go that route, I would like to use the apply the update using the recovery option . In order to do this, do I need to appy the updates in sequencial order? Like update it to VBRMB1 first and then VBRMF1 or I can apply VBRMF1 directly to VBRBLK3?
Thanks,

Since its a rooted zip, it will upgrade the software to VRBMF1. Your baseband (Settings/About Phone/Baseband) will still read VRBLK3 so you'll need to flash the firmware that Sandman-007 just posted about. As I said before, this will only work if you are rooted AND unlocked. If you haven't unlocked your bootloader then do not try this method.
To answer your initial question in your first post, you can take the OTA which will unroot your device. You can then use Casual by beanstown106 to root/unlock again.

Looks about right. The flashing order does not matter. I prefer to flash separately with a boot into the rom between flashes whereas others would flash all at once. Personal preference really.

Getting mine too
Hey guys, I have a question I hope someone can help me out with. I have the sm-g935v which I flashed to sm-g935u. I'm considering flashing it to sm-g935t since the unlocked firmware will be getting quarterly updates which is unfortunate, and I would like to use samsung cloud, FM radio, and now Nougat. Would I have to factory reset my phone back to the verizon firmware before flashing tmobile's, or can I just flash from my current unlocked firmware straight to tm? Prior to Nougats release, I had downloaded the latest tmobile firmware and tried to flash it with no success so not sure what I did wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
OTA
Won't taking the OTA update certain partitions we don't necessarily want to update? Like the BL, for example? Could this prevent rolling back to 6.0.1 if there are issues? Or does this not matter since we don't have an unlocked BL anyway? Thanksssss
Apparently I do not see that update on my phone as of now

The update is for T-Mobile users using the T firmware. You are on the US Unlocked firmware.
I got this also and updated this morning. Very smooth and loving it! Did OTA update and one thing i noticed after updating i wasn't able to clear my cache like before. When i power down, hold all 3 buttons (power, home and up key) get a screen more like a warning saying installing other firmware's or roms can damage my device. Not the exact wording but similar. Has anyone else tried doing that and got the same warning msg?
