Warranty - Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra Questions & Answers

I read somewhere that if you register this phone with Asus you can activate a two-year warranty. Is this true and has anyone in the USA done it? Is anyone out there knowledgeable in what the warranty covers? The one thing that I get nervous about when buying electronics not available in the US is that I cannot get any kind of warranty on them!!! Is there ANY good news? Thanks for your time!

Warranty, LG or Tmobile for the G2X

I bought the G2X on Ebay full price. I do have some backlight issues, as of now i am ok with it, i was wondering in case if the backlight bleed increases, what is my recourse, Do i contact LG or Tmobile to warranty the phone, Any ideas? Thanks.
well since you bought it ebay i would first see what their return/warranty policy is if that doesn't work i would go with LG you should at least have a year warrant on it.
Contact LG Mobile!
.....
Actually going through this right now with Live chat. going a bit slow, but moving a long.
Good luck!
Please let me know what happens because I have a similar issue. Tmibile refused to do a warranty exchange on a 3 week old phone.

I bought my G2x through Amazonwireless and now I'm hearing that Tmobile has pulled it from their web store? I'm outside the 30 days to return to Amazon already and I don't even really know who to talk to.
Were you able to get anywhere with LG?

Don't fret. Sometimes they pull the device for stock and marketing reasons. If they pulled it for Qc then I damn well want a replacement or exchange for phone of equal value ie htc sensation

I believe T-Mobile's Asurion covers the g2x...it doesn't matter where u bought it.because as soon as your sim card insertedand you make a few calls their system will recieve info as to which phone it is and etc.if you already have a insurance plan conjoined when u got the phone you should be good.

are any of you guys developers? or just users of the phone? i would like to hear developer opinions on this also.

Zagg Warranty check it out Devs

Just came across this new warranty program from Zagg they claim to cover your phone for 2 years no matter what you do to it. unlock bootloader, sim unlock, s-off custom roms they will still cover it. there warranty covers water damage physical damage and even software bricks and its ony $99 for 2 years of coverage.
May be worth it for some devs trying to achive unlocked bootloaders or s-off where the process is risky of bricks.
This is where I first seen it and at the bottom of the page it says "even covers jailbroken and unlocked phones"

This actually sounds pretty cool. I've been researching on mobile insurance and Best Buy seems to offer the most cohesive plan. Right now this is looking pretty good!

where do you see that it covers unlocking bootloaders and with customer roms cuz i dont ?
"Unlimited claims may be filed up to the original purchase price of the smart phone or tablet" im not sure what they mean by that, like what value would they be using to calculate against original purchase price?
a disadvantage is "Complete your claim online or by phone, ship your busted gadget to us, and we'll get it back to you in just a few days"
which means you ship it to the, and we get it back "a few days" later
"3-5 business day turnaround"
advantage, cheap!

i was on my phone and didnt get tot it, its important enough that it should be in the op.....
also just noticed says nothing about lost phones
edit: called and confirmed they don't cover lost phone.
Tempted to go for this but with my luck I'd lose it
Dug a little deeper the $59 deductible is ONLY FOR screen damage or water damage. It says all other repairs are 0 deductible (that includes software issues).
im thinking about getting this just to get my 2nd year covered (which manufacture or att dont do)
wondering if there are any hidden cost, ex. shipping ??
It looks like Zagg does their extended warranty services through Warrantech (after December 31st, 2011, if you click on the "File a Claim" button it says this). Not sure if that is good or bad...

I found that one a while ago, never used it tho.
edit:
Oh, thats why, it is iDevice only, my bad.
Square Trade is similar. $79 for 1 year., $129 for 2. Doesnt cover lost phones. I guess the reason they dont is because they have no way of locking it down. If i'm not mistaken assurion thru ATT can have the IMEI disabled or something.. atleast thats what i heard. That way they arent gettin people trying to scam them.

common misconception, on networks like att (sim card based) they actually dont have any way to block them.
networks like sprint (cdma) they can
(I know they are planning on something in the future but haven't heard of anything currently)
has anyone tried this service out in general?
im considering it just to have a warranty on my 2nd year, plus much cheaper if i drop or water damage.

Buy smartphone insurance?

Hey XDA, I was wondering where I could get my cell insured at since I didn't bother paying a deductible the day I purchased it. I'm really regretting it... just to be on the safe side am I able to buy insurance on a used phone? Thx guys

[Q]: those with square trade.

So I am going to use my 40% off coupon on either a 2 or 3 year warranty. My only issue is...I spoke to a few reps/managers at square trade, and they all said the same thing.
'Once the manufacturers warranty is void, so is ours'. So...has anyone unlocked filed a claim with ST and been successful? Just don't want to unlock and throw away $420 on the tablet and another $80 for the warranty. Thank you!

Warranty in the US for an International version of S6 ?

Hi!
Lets say I buy an international version of the S6 (SM920F) for example from the UK
How would the warranty play out if something were to malfunction ?
Would I have to return it to the seller (in the UK) for warranty repair/replacement, or can I turn it in to some kind of samsung repair center here in the US ?
Any of you guys have experience with something like this ?
I'm not interested in the Carrier bloated S6 versions
Thanks guys
Wondering the same. Figured I'd comment to bump. Not getting any clear, concise info from Google.

Well, I bought the Note 2 from Ebay when it came out and I ended up having some issues with it... The company I was working with was "BREED" and they were not the best but I did ended up getting the issue resolved. First you want to make sure that the seller is even going to issue you a warranty and stand by it, because technically it was voided as soon as it was delivered in the US. There are some companies that will facilitate the transportation so that it can get sent to them, and then Samsung, wherever they may be (Mine was from Spain). The problem there is that you will be without a phone so as long as you don't care and have another phone then you are golden! Personally, I would get a 3rd party warranty and be done with it! No worries and no problems if something does end up happening... :good: BTW: I have used Squaretrade for several warranties and my daughter has broken 2 different iPads!! All they do is make you send them your original receipt and if they can't fix the damage or problem then they cut you a check, and can even throw it in your PayPal account 4 you! The last claim was about 6 months ago and they cut me an $800 check within 5 business days! Top notch IMO!
