Nexus 5 unable to mount persist - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
i've got a problem with my nexus 5.
Today I just took it out of my pocket and it was turned off, after I tried to turned it on again, I got stuck into a bootloop. At home I tried to wipe the device with TWRP and to flash a factory image with TWRP again. Now I'm always getting the error E: Unable to mount '/persist'
Can somebody help me?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] please help - bricked while trying to encrypt

Dear experts,
I was on moto G 1033, unlocked, Philz touch recovery, Nexus 5 experience ROM. From that I tried to encrypt the phone, I left it connected to charger for 5 hours but still it just showed the blank screen.
I can boot to fastboot on the phone, and Philz recovery too. The only way to remove encryption is supposed to be factory reset, but factory reset is giving an error about unable to mount /sdcard. I guess this is because /sdcard is now an encrypted partition so cannot mount it normally.
Most other options that I can think of are resulting into this problem of inability to mount /sdcard. Please help, I am stuck here.
thanks a million
Ok guys, I was able to restore to stock ROM using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219

[Q] Flashed N5 but still doesnt fix my issue HELP!!

Hey there,
My phone froze so I went to restart it and it started backup but got as far and the start up animation and would go any farther. I tried wiping cache first, that didn't work, then I tried to wipe/factory reset, thinking that would work but it didn't, So then I tried to flash it back to stock. When I flashed it to stock for the newest kitikat OS 5.1.0 it just stayed in boot loop, so then I tried to go to an older version like 4.4.4 and it works, at least I thought it did. I used method 2 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/general/tutorial-how-to-flash-factory-image-t2513701 and everything went fine but when I went back into recovery mode it showed me this msg :
E:can t mount/cache/recovery/command
E:can t mount/cache/recovery/log
E:can t open /cache/recovery/command
E:can t mount/cache/recovery/last_log
E:can t open /cache/recovery/last_log
E:can t mount/cache/recovery/last_install
E:can t open /cache/recovery/last_install
still allowed me to factory reset and then reboot system, but when I start up error messages come up for camera, hangouts, playstore etc. saying they wont respond. Also I think doing all this it has fried my SIM card because I have no service and cannot find service providers in search. It asks me if I want to update to newest OS but I wont because I know I'll just end up back in bootloop.
So I'm asking anyone out there have you ever had this issue and if so please help me fix it!!!!!!!
Thank you,
Chappy!
Flash factory images. Lollipop, the la test. It will reset everything and should fix.

help with error unable to mount /data

hey guys
i was installing cm12.1 nightly and i though to fresh install it. so i opened twrp and swiped dalvik cache, cache and data but factory reset failed for some reason.i found out that twrp couldnt format data.so i googled it and found that changing file partition system can overcome this problem so i changed the file partition system to fat. then i tried to install cm12.1 but it got stuck in the boot animation.
then i again tried to factory reset but this time i got error 'unable to mount /data'
i tried cwm and touchwiz recovery but both of them couldnt even format data as it was un mountable
so guys can you help me as my phone is lying dead now and there's nothing i can do about it
if you need any log /screenshot pls let me know
hoping for working solution

Oneplus one - can't mount storage in twrp

Hello all. I have a oneplus one. My phone was turned on working fine as it was charging. Then out of nowhere it went into a bootloop. The system would not boot and just stayed on the cyanogenmod boot up screen. At the time I was on cm13. I can access fastboot and twrp. While in twrp the storage will not mount. I get numerous errors when trying to format, wipe etc.. What's also strange is that in some of the instances, I get errors but at the very top it says wipe or format was successful. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
The errors I get:
Failed to mount data(invalid argument)
Unable to mount storage
Unable to repair system

S8 BootLoop

Hey all. First post and I need your help.
S8 randomly restarted and was stuck on the "SAMSUNG" logo screen. Restarted it and it said "applying update" but then "no command" screen with dead robot.
I've tried to factory reset it but "unable to mount drive" appears. I've tried reflashing with Odin. Seeing if I could boot with adb and wipe from there, nothing.
Corrupt drive pops up on occasion and it tries to wipe itself but this message comes up after it fails.
wiping data
formatting /data
E: /sbin/mke2fs_static failed with status 37
E: format _volume: failed to make ext4 on /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata
no such file or directory
Any help would be appreciated. I dont want to have to pay for a new one.
I was able to reload everything after a NAND erase
