[Q] please help - bricked while trying to encrypt - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear experts,
I was on moto G 1033, unlocked, Philz touch recovery, Nexus 5 experience ROM. From that I tried to encrypt the phone, I left it connected to charger for 5 hours but still it just showed the blank screen.
I can boot to fastboot on the phone, and Philz recovery too. The only way to remove encryption is supposed to be factory reset, but factory reset is giving an error about unable to mount /sdcard. I guess this is because /sdcard is now an encrypted partition so cannot mount it normally.
Most other options that I can think of are resulting into this problem of inability to mount /sdcard. Please help, I am stuck here.
thanks a million

Ok guys, I was able to restore to stock ROM using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219
thanks a lot

Cannot wipe "/Data" & "/Dalvik" and TWRP is asking for Password [Solved]
Hey Guys!
So a few days ago i decided to install and try out the ubuntu touch. My Android OS was the newest CM-11 Nightly edition of the TF700t , but because it was not compatible with dual boot I wiped it out. Then I done everything as it was ordered and finally i had may Touch and my "TF700T_CROMBi-kk_RC2 KitKat-4.4.4rc2-CM11-D". Everything was perfect and there was no problem , then I wiped out the whole thing , because I dosen't liked the touch (from the beginning it was just about trying it out) and reinstalled the "TF700T_CROMBi-kk_RC2 KitKat-4.4.4rc2-CM11-D". For like a day there was no problem at all , then i turned off the tablet (before this shutdown there was like 3-4 restart) and when I turned it back 9 hours later the OS just restated it self when I tried to enter. The TWRP is asked for a password (I didn't setup any kind of security for my TWRP) so it was kinda odd. When I tried to restore my backup it's was a fail , also when I tried to wipe out the system "failed" , because the recovery system was unable to wipe the "/dalvik" and "/data" and neither can mount the "/data". I tried to update the TWRP via fastboot but my PC stays at "waiting for device". I appreciate any kind of suggestion and help , pls guys help I'm out of ideas .
TWRP version: 2.6.3.2
TWRP asks for a password if it can't read the file system on /data and so it assumes it's encrypted.
Sounds as if you corrupted your data partition somewhere in this. Try to format data (not wipe) in TWRP. This would erase all your data on the tablet, but you got that backed up anyway, right?
I swear to god that I tried this too , but it's worked. Thanks for the help.

Stuck in Recovery twrp (can't wipe or install ROM)

First things first, I'm a newbie when it comes to all these.
I installed CM11 after much effort, but some things didn't work out well so afterwards, I installed CM12.1* (FXP-cm-11-20150301-UNOFFICIAL-taoshan).* But then I decided that I wanted to change my Gapps Package, so I went to recovery mode once again to wipe my phone and install CM12 all over again.
The thing is that for some reason I just couldn't wipe it (no error message) but I was able to log in back to the system (CM12).
I messed around with a few settings and finally I decided to install twrp 2.8.7.0 through the flashify app. I rebooted to recovery, tried to wipe again my phone and then, all hell broke loose.
I realized that I cannot wipe internal memory of all things, and cannot install any new ROM. Can't flash another recovery either through windows flashtool like CWM 6.0 Philz touch, for example. Well, it does flash but my phone keeps on logging into the twrp recovery. I also can't flash my original fft (obviously). I can't do really anything besides messing around with twrp options (and I've messed a lot with them). I'm all out of ideas, so please someone help. When trying to wipe internal storage, the following message appears:
E:mkdosfs /dev/block/mmcblk0p32 process ended with ERROR=1
E:Unable to wipe '/sdcard'.
E:Unknown MTP message type: 1
E:Unable to wipe '/sdcard'
I have the whole log, for anyone interested.
Please help and remember, I'm a newbie.
Thank you.

Thank you for your answer my friend, but I actually managed to fix my problem just moments before you posted your answer! What I did was to flash the cm12.1 recovery nightly which logged me into this recovery (although it seemed all messed up and.. broken). Nevertheless, I managed to flash the CM12.1 ROM from there and everything worked fine!
Bro #immortalwind.. I'm having the same problem exactly what you had. Seriously fu***d up with all with boot loop @ recovery. Could not able to hard reset / factory reset at neither CWM nor TWRP. Tried all knows possible ways. Please could you help me here. Any1 who can halp me here pls...
P.S: literally not moving from the boot load, so flashing a ROM could not be possible i think. any other suggestions please.....

Just reflash stock ftf. You'll be good to go. If that fails, check drivers and downgrade flashtool. After that, normally, install a boot image with a recovery, install your rom gapps, reboot.
Managed to flash.ftf... Thanks for the help friends.

[Q] (SOLVED) Motorola Xoom (MZ602) Stuck on Omni Boot Logo

So I recently got a motorola xoom from my brother as a birthday gift and i decided i wanted to root it to get the most out of the tablet. I successfully managed to root and unlock the bootloader on the tablet without a problem. I installed TWRP by R.A.H with bigPart partitioning but upon installing 4.4.4 OmniRom like instructed to, the tablet didn't boot up anymore.
When i get on TWRP and try formatting the internal storage, cache, dalvik cache or data it says "cannot mount" and does not format it. I tried reinstalling the rom but no luck. Is there any way i can go back to stock with fastboot? Is there a solution to fixing this boot?
Thanks in advance
EDIT: i fixed my problem by flashing a non-bigPart TWRP on the xoom and flashed a non-bigPart rom, then proceeded to re partition the device and successfully flashed omnirom 4.4.4 on my device

XT1031 Can't erase cwm, can't flash twrp, can't wipe data, many more weird issues

Moto G XT1031
Unlocked bootloader
So I have a few dozen Moto Gs. I'm always running into problems with them, but this problem is new. I had originally used CWM on this device for backups and rooting. Phone died and a put it in the drawer for months. I took it back out to mess around with it and see if I could get it going again. However, I can't get TWRP onto it. I've tried erasing recovery via fastboot, it says it worked, but when i boot into recovery it's still CWM. Inside CWM itself, I get lots of "can't mount cache" errors. So when I try to wipe anything inside CWM, it just freezes.
I was able to boot directly to TWRP via "fastboot boot twrp.img". However, none of the wipe tools seem to do anything. Factory reset, format data, advanced wipe... they all go through with no errors, but the file manager still shows that all my original files are still on the phone.
i have same issue with xt1033 but instead of cwm mine is stock recovery no matter what i do with my device everything stays same seems like it went into write protection have u got any fix?
Oh dear - it looks you two have suffered from the read-only eMMC brick. You can try repairing the phone with this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/help/how-to-unbrick-moto-g-falcon-t3394788
If this fails though, your phone needs to have its logic board/motherboard replaced. That said, it does make me want to ask one question: for those who have suffered from the read-only eMMC brick, what eMMC chip do those who have suffered from this bug have? Is it a Samsung or a SanDisk eMMC chip? I think it is about time to do a survey here.

Nexus 5 "Google Logo" Bootloop - Not Power Button Related - Please Help!!!

Hello all,
First time posting, long time lurker. Everybody here at XDA has been exceptionally helpful with every Android device I've owned. Whether I've had technical issues, or just wanted to try out some new ROM's or apps. I just wanted to take a second to thank you all before I got started with this post.
I've been pulling my hair out over this Nexus 5. It is my wife's phone that she never rooted, unlocked, or anything outside of generic user space.
I looked all over XDA and the web looking for solutions to this issue, but have been unsuccessful. Below is an overview of what's going on with my device.
___________________________________________
1: Nexus 5 repeatedly bootloops at initial Google logo
2: Bootloader locked - I can unlock it with fastboot oem unlock but it is reverted to locked at each restart.
3: Recovery mode bootloops every time cache is touched - Every time I attempt to sideload images or wipe cache recovery bootloops. This makes it impossible to flash factory images in recovery.
4: Problem seems to be with the cache - In fastboot I can wipe userdata, but when it gets to wiping cache I get an error.
5: Yes I have tried re imaging with factory images, flashing TWRP (doesn't take, ADB wasn't set to on before this happened and I think the bootloader unlock isn't really working, but Im not sure,) flashing stock cache, flashing stock bootloader etc.
Any idea's guys? This is my last attempt to fix before I just take the Nexus apart so I don't waste anymore time on it. I would be happy if I could get any functionality whatsoever.
Thanks so much,
Nathan
:Update:
I was able to boot into TWRP with fastboot boot recovery twrp.img.
Trying my luck here, it seems to have been able to wipe the cache, but not mount /data.
Unable to mount storage
Failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
