the battery level indicator no longer shows battery level and instead only shows a red exclamation mark. resetting the phone doesn't fix the problem. any ideas?
Same issue here ... Plz help
Try downloading the "mobile upgrade q" software from Alcatel and following those instructions to reinstall everything? Download the 5.0.6 version I believe or whatever one is listed for the idol 4 and then select your model number for your phone in the application itself

I have the same problem. I have a Alcatel 60450 idol 3 5. 5 running
6.0.1. When TOTALLY dead the phone will start to charge, then after a while try to boot to charge mode, but just keeps restarting. IF you push the turn on button, it will boot up and work, but upon boot up, or attempted boot up to charge mode, the software immediately disconnects the USB port and all charging stops. The phone can turn on an stay on, as long as plugged in. The red explanation point appears in the battery icon, and 0% appears for charge level and stays at that level. I have REPLACED the battery, but once the software puts up this icon, there is no way I can find to RESET battery communication and charging, once software boots up to either charge boot, or turn on boot. Phone is thus useless. Alcatel only suggests, clear cash or hard reset, which does not work...act like they know nothing, but this is a persistent problem as this is the second phone that has done this to me. Any ideas for a solution greatly appreciated.

My phone died last night, because of a fall from a bed.
but unfortunately, every time it has been entered into the system, the red LED light flashes 3 times and my phone dies.
I try to get into fastboot, there is a warning that "baterry voltage too low".
I try to mengcharge battery, but again its LED lights flashing.
I have even tried to use direct current from the power supply, but still the same, in fastboot "battery voltage too low"
whether it is hardware or software issue?
NB: I can still go into recovery mode, still can install the radio rom and files
sorry for my bad english because i'm from indonesian, and i hope there is a quick help

clockworkmod bro.
i think it's hardware problem, but i don't know
i've found same problem in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2277365
but i'm not yet try the method
Used Windroid Universal Android Toolkit to unlock bootloader and flash twrp. All went fine.
Then I tried to gain root by flashing supersu, also with the same toolkit.
Then I got a android figure with a warning sign.
Can't remember exactly what happened then, but after that I can't power on, screen stays black whatever I do.
Charging I going fine though, charging led is green.
My desktop recognizes when the tablet is connected with usb, but I can't login with the toolkit.
Any idea what I could do or is the diagnosis: bircked?
Can you get into the bootloder? If so you are not bricked you can reflash the firmware
No, I'm not able to get into the bootloader, screen stays black, whatever I try.
Some change now.
While charging the battery, don't know how it became empty, the display shows a charging battery...
Wait till the battery is full, and then try some things again.
So happy! My problem is solved.
Here is what I did what resulted in my problem solving.
First I opened the back panel to see if the battery was all right.
After that my battery was empty, and I started loading my battery with the Nvidia adapter.
The screen showed a loading battery figure. After that I was able to boot into android as well as in the bootloader.
hello to everyone
it has been like 1 week when i had my first ramdom reboot with my idol 3, but i didn't pay too much atention to that. After that i charged the phone all the night, from that moment always i try to turn on the idol 3 it shows the boot animation and the 'turn on' sound normally. Five seconds later it does the 'turn off' sound while keeping the boot animation and, for a second, it shows the lock screen.after that the phone just shutdown.
(If someone needs more details it boots again and again showing the icon battery,it does charge normally if the battery is not charged at all and shows a battery icon with interrogation if the battery is fully charged.
Also it shows the battery indicator with an exclamation like if was discharged when shows the lock screen for a second, but the battery is fully charged).
That's not the problem, i have warranty. The problem comes when i try to recover my data because usb debugging is DISABLED and i cannot recover my data with adb or something.
I wanna try that but im afraid of losing my warranty because i have to install another recovery, but it seems to be that's the only way:http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/fastboot-recovery-remotely-enable-usb-t2177440
I read about dr. fone data recovery can recover data with usb debugging being disabled, but it seems to only work on some galaxy phones.
Thank you so much for reading this and please... HELP!!
EDIT: Problem fixed, i had to hard reset and that gave enough time to enable usb debugging and be able to recover my now deleted data. Thanks for reading
EDIT 2: I enabled usb debugging but im still unable to recover my data. Windows shows idol 3 as qhsusb_bulk and i cant use dr. fone or something for recover that. Please help!!
Hello all
just before i get started i did have a thread here regarding this issue before but sadly unable to find it now so seems i need to start over....
this is more of an update on what has been done so far but will just give detail about the issue from start
when this phone came to me it was not functioning i have no clue to what the wife done to it.... it appears that it may not be charging and something is stopping it from charging..... the charging indicator is on (( orange )) and the battery will display on screen with a lightening bolt in the center.... if i plug into laptop the laptop will sound off the USB connection and disconnection alert will do that 3 or 4 times
pressing power button will make phone vibrate and will display a battery with the lightening bolt assuming that means battery is flat as a pancake
holding volume up and power button brings me into the recovery option total of 3 options show 1) normal 2) fastboot 3) recovery whatever i select say for example recovery it will display the Asus and powered by Android this will last for about 3 to 5 seconds before going off again
so that is the state of the phone as of now and even after other things i have done as i will mention
in the past i have come across 2 phones with the very same issue the first one i flashed my self that phone only shown a charging indicator light but i found the flash tool and rom from the Alcatel website and it fixed the issue so assuming the same would apply with this Asus also the other phone i had with same issue was fixed with a flash
so here is what i have done so far using SP flash tools and following instructions from different places i have successfully flashed over the Stock Rom done it under download only also format + download and even tried firmware upgrade but i am still stuck with the same thing as mentioned above
obviously after flashing the phone it needs to power up to complete the setup process but as is clear i cannot do that if the battery has little to no juice
so what i am looking for is a solution to getting the phone to charge again or a way to charge the battery by other means (( bare in mind this phone has built in battery )) (( battery has been replaced new ))
what could be causing the phone to not charge or at least give battery the power it needs i ask because i do believe the phone is giving the battery some power but very little..... the way i look at this situation is like installing a sound card on a PC but not installing the driver the PC knows the sound card is there but cannot work without the driver same seems to apply with the phone
if i disconnect the battery from the main board the laptop will not pick up the phone even if i press down on the volume down button as i do when using SP flash and the orange charge light flashes so i don't see the issue being with mainboard but more likely a software glitch maybe the MTK chip is not doing its job properly or maybe it thinks the battery has full charge and stops the charger from adding more juice when in fact battery is flat
so can anyone enlighten me to what could be the problem and a solution
thanks in advance
Hello everyone!
I've had the Huawei Honor 8 for about 2.5 years now, like most other users my battery started to wear out (phone suddenly dying when opening camera/map apps, random shutdowns, taking about 10 mins even to charge to 1-2% etc).
The past few days i haven't been able to start my phone at all, it boots to eRecovery mode were i can choose "reboot" "shutdown" or "download latest version and restore". once or twice i managed to boot it properly but then it didn't charge over 5-6%.
I decided to order a new battery which I've just installed, the phone boots in the same loop and isn't recognized by my computer also the battery light on the front of the phone doesn't light up. Im starting to think that this is more of a software error than a hardware error? any suggestions? note that the phone is in its original state, i haven't flashed it or anything. all help would be appreciated.
While in recovery mode the phone seems to recognize the charger (small battery symbol in top right corner), ive also tried different chargers/cables. this would eliminate any charging port problems i reckon?
have a nice day!
What battery did you order? I hope it is not some Chinese fake battery, this would cause the problem probably.
