the battery level indicator no longer shows battery level and instead only shows a red exclamation mark. resetting the phone doesn't fix the problem. any ideas?
Same issue here ... Plz help
Try downloading the "mobile upgrade q" software from Alcatel and following those instructions to reinstall everything? Download the 5.0.6 version I believe or whatever one is listed for the idol 4 and then select your model number for your phone in the application itself

I have the same problem. I have a Alcatel 60450 idol 3 5. 5 running
6.0.1. When TOTALLY dead the phone will start to charge, then after a while try to boot to charge mode, but just keeps restarting. IF you push the turn on button, it will boot up and work, but upon boot up, or attempted boot up to charge mode, the software immediately disconnects the USB port and all charging stops. The phone can turn on an stay on, as long as plugged in. The red explanation point appears in the battery icon, and 0% appears for charge level and stays at that level. I have REPLACED the battery, but once the software puts up this icon, there is no way I can find to RESET battery communication and charging, once software boots up to either charge boot, or turn on boot. Phone is thus useless. Alcatel only suggests, clear cash or hard reset, which does not work...act like they know nothing, but this is a persistent problem as this is the second phone that has done this to me. Any ideas for a solution greatly appreciated.
Hello everyone!
I've had the Huawei Honor 8 for about 2.5 years now, like most other users my battery started to wear out (phone suddenly dying when opening camera/map apps, random shutdowns, taking about 10 mins even to charge to 1-2% etc).
The past few days i haven't been able to start my phone at all, it boots to eRecovery mode were i can choose "reboot" "shutdown" or "download latest version and restore". once or twice i managed to boot it properly but then it didn't charge over 5-6%.
I decided to order a new battery which I've just installed, the phone boots in the same loop and isn't recognized by my computer also the battery light on the front of the phone doesn't light up. Im starting to think that this is more of a software error than a hardware error? any suggestions? note that the phone is in its original state, i haven't flashed it or anything. all help would be appreciated.
While in recovery mode the phone seems to recognize the charger (small battery symbol in top right corner), ive also tried different chargers/cables. this would eliminate any charging port problems i reckon?
have a nice day!
What battery did you order? I hope it is not some Chinese fake battery, this would cause the problem probably.
Hello there,i am new out here and my native language isn't english so i am saying sorry by now.
My A7 2018 rested on my desk, with 10% battery, and suddently the phone shuts down.It has happened to me before, but somehow i was able to turn it on and didnt have problems since.
Sometimes the phone's battery ran out fast when it was like 30%.
I plugged in the charging cable and it showed me a charging-logo-like thing but i cannot post any links here since i am new.
I thought i drained out the phone's battery and i let it rest and charge for like 30 minutes.
I did a force boot thing where u hold the down and power buttons for 20 seconds but nothing happened.
Sometimes the phone turned on but closed back on at the booting where it showed powered by android.
I plugged in the phone into my computer and into device manager at other devices it showed me exynos7885.Usb debugging is off if that helps.
I called samsung support and they have told me to bring it in for warranty at my phone carrier where i brought it from but i can't bring it in because it is scrached and the camera back glass is cracked so it dosent meets the requirements for my warranty.
I have all my photos, phone numbers, conversations and passwords on it so please help because i didn't back them up!!!(lesson learned)
Please help!!!!
Try reflash stock rom with odin. As you cant get into download mode. You may have to use fastboot to boot into download mode.
its so easy, go to odin mode and make sure that you've already downloaded the stock rom and use odin for flashing. If you dont know how to use just search it on youtube or here in xda for guide.
Hi everyone! I really appreciate it if you can help! I connected my ZTE AXON Pro phone to the computer and deleted some folders and files in my phone through Android File Transfer, and the phone worked normally after I deleted the files. But the next day when I turned it on, it was stuck at the "AXON" logo screen. I went to two repair shops. One could do nothing about it and suggested me to contact a data recovery company since I need the data in my phone. The other shop thought my phone was fairly old (I started to use it in 2017) and they suspected that the battery had gone bad and wasn't supplying enough voltage for a full boot cycle. They ordered a new battery and tried floating it plugged in, but the phone still wouldn't boot. They said the motherboard was also getting very hot approximately where the power supply chip would be. They tried to charge the new battery but nothing brought the phone to life, so they diagnosed it as a power supply chip failure. They couldn't fix it. But I think the problem is caused by me deleting the files that affect the system. After that I put the phone in recovery mode and wiped cache partition, but it still wouldn't fully boot up and it's stuck in bootloop: Now when I turn it on it's stuck at the "AXON" logo screen for a few minutes and then "Android is starting...Optimizing app 1 of 3.""Android is starting Optimizing app 2 of 3.""Android is starting Optimizing app 3 of 3." show up, and then "Android is starting apps." shows up. Then it restarts and stucks at the "AXON" logo screen, and repeats the loop over and over again until the battery is completely drained.
I have some very important app data in the internal storage and I can't afford to lose it. Does anyone know how to fix the bootloop without losing data? Thanks a lot!!!!!
Boot this Androd 5.1 based phone into "Safe Mode":
Safe mode can help you investigate and find problem apps if optimizing app 1 of 1 ... issue is caused by unsuitable or broken apps. You can stop Android optimizing apps by booting the device in Safe mode.

Thank you for replying! I just tried to boot it into safe mode, but it didn't work. When I saw the ZTE logo on the screen I quickly pressed volume down and held it for about one minute or longer, but the phone was still stuck at the "AXON" logo screen and started the bootloop. It wouldn't load in safe mode. I've tried a few times, but it still doesn't work.
Hello, so about 2 days ago from now, my device, while waiting for the bus started to bootloop for no known reason. Skipping into this weekend, I have tried almost everything to get it working without the risk of any data loss, unsuccessful I am here.
Right, so the main problem of the device is that it's very unpredictable, that being said, the device doesn't really have a consistent bootloop. First it started off with the usual, constant bootloop, and then when it got enough of that, it shut off, or I just put it into Fastboot mode to shut off, because it wouldn't stop bootlooping. The power button would always restart it. The loop would start at the start of the booting process(MI Logo) and end when the device would turn on the Lock Screen and then about 3 or 5 seconds later it would crash. Meaning that I can change any setting in the top UI, like wifi settings, bluetooth and whatnot(not that it meant anything since I only had about 5 seconds). Then I left it shut off overnight, and the next day I turned it on, and it actually booted... This gave me a lot of time to back up every photo and video in a panic, and I still had a bit of time. First I thought it was bootlooping because the storage was full, so I uninstalled a lot of apps, and moved about 7GB of data onto my PC. Since the problem kept going, I left it overnight once again to retrieve any more data I needed(right now there's still data on it that I need like 2FA tokens and passwords).
By the way the amount of time I was able to spend in the device was about 5 or 8 minutes before it shut off.. Maybe even more, I had time to move the whole gallery onto my PC and still had time. And the second time I had access to it was just recovering more data, that time I also thought of enabling "OEM Unlock" but I decided not to(like an idiot).
This time though I did not wait till the phone restarted on its own, rather the battery fully discharged at 0%. And that put a somewhat permanent "Empty battery logo" on my recovery UI(the one that uses ADB). I can still access ADB, like the menu works it's just that I'm going blind into it, I can click volume down and select options, it's just that I can't see what I'm clicking. I tried booting it the 3rd time, now in even worse condition than before and now it's fully bricked the whole battery system, because meanwhile I was waiting for it to "do it's thing again" so I can access it I decided to charge it. It 100% had enough time to charge to full battery, yet the phone still thinks the battery is empty and wont show me the Recovery UI. And when I manage to get to the Lock Screen the battery shows 2% and there's absolutely no way it's that low. I slept a good hour waiting for it to charge, and that should be at least 70 - 90%.
Right, so I'm thinking it's either a bad battery connector or a faulty temperature sensor that's making the phone crash, because I can only access it once and that's when it fully cools down, since there's nothing going on in it anyway when it's dead. And later when it heats up it crashes.?
But then again, accessing it like 10 or 20 minutes after it naturally shuts off only gives me about 2 or 3 extra seconds when it fully boots even though being cool to to the touch. And leaving it overnight gives me minutes of time.(if)
Right now I have no idea if I will be able to access it ever again, so if I do I'm backing up my tokens and turning "OEM Unlock" on so I can flash it or factory wipe it. And if I don't, my question is.. Is there anything I can do to save this mf phone? Since I don't even know if I have the right idea to why it could be doing this in the first place, and if I can't turn on "OEM Unlock" I can't even factory reset it properly.
I've tried using ADB to pull files, and just use shell, but I can't due to Errors, I also can't boot a custom recovery without OEM. Shutting it off before it shuts off also doesn't do anything.

ADB is useless at this stage, through the stock recovery.
By enabling OEM unlock, but not binding your Mi account, to start the unlocking process, it´s also useless, per se.
You can´t flash any partition through fastboot, if the bootloader is locked, by enabling OEM unlock, it´s not enough to.
Try booting to stock recovery, you can wipe your data/factory reset, in case this may help.
But, probably, the issue is with the battery or the battery connector, pay attention to the charger time, and test if the charge level is correct.
Just in case you need to power off your device, you may connect to the PC while you press the volume down button, you´ll get fastboot mode, then disconnect the cable to the PC, device will shut off itself, when the connection time expires, it may takes only seconds.

Hey there. Was you issue fixed? I had somewhat of a similar issue. My phone did the same bootloop in two different days. First I thought it was some error after update. I didn't bother. It happened once again and after few times of crashing at lockscreen, it actually booted and I was able to use it for a day. I thought of backing up my stuff but didn't give much attention. Now it have happened once again and this time it is never getting into usable boot. If the battery is sufficient enough, it'll go into lockscreen and crashes repeatedly. Then soon it just crash after the MI Logo and the three loading dots. Safe mode does the same. It boots into lockscreen at times but the safe mode symbol is not seen.
I read you were able to get your data out of it. Did you resolve the issue?
