T-Mobile V20 back order - LG V20 Guides, News, & Discussion

I called a few stores last Thursday and there was none in stock. I called to place an order over the phone, and was originally given a ship date of Nov 3 - 8. I never got the electronic signature email from them at the time I purchased on Thursday, to complete the transaction so after calling them back yesterday they resent the email and I signed it. Well that never went through and I had to call them again today. They resent the email, I verified the e signature again, and received a text to confirm it worked this time. I'm still getting informed of a shipping date between 3-8, but when I talked to a rep again this evening he told me it won't ship until at least the 10th and that's been moved up 5 days cause it used to be the 15th. So, I don't know when to expect this phone, but he said since the demise of the note 7, the v20 is in extreme demand, and LG can't keep up with shipping devices.

ordered mine online Saturday and it's out for delivery today. can't wait to get my paws on it

I had to return mine because it was defecrive, i reordered with a supervisor on the phone on november 1 and my order backordered to December 13th up to january 3rd of next year. Even though the supervisor told me that i would have the phone by the end of this month. Now im screwed without a phone. I will have to ask my mother for the lg g3 i gave her once again since im receiving very important emails at hours im not in the house. Tmobile used to have a rating of 5 stars from me. Now it gets a 2 stars.

I have tried every single method but they still say the same stuff... as if they were robots. sometimes i believe im talking with a robot instead of a person . Im telling you, i would never recommend anyone to join the Tmobile family, maybe to grab the phone only since they usually have unlocked bootloader, but that's it! Customer service is the worst. One tells me one thing, the other tells me other thing, another lies to me making me send the phone and making me believe that i would receive a new phone when i was never going to get that replacement, and another one told me it would arrive this month. And it keeps going on and on and on . I have a long list of things they told me and never did.

Just get one from swappa.com
The back order is real...tmo told me January at the earliest

Worries not! I have my G3 back because my mother is going to be out for a couple of weeks so.... BUT REALLY! LG AN TMOBILE MUST BE STUPID! THEY SHOULD HAVE PREDICTED THIS WOULD HAPPEN AFTER WHAT HAPPENED WITH THE NOTE 7.... Or,.... are they stupid? seems like it. I mean, it doesn take a lot of brain to figure out that when one flagship goes down people are desperate to try a new device that will possibly replace it. I bet they have already lost many customers just because of the backorders. If it werent because i have already tried the LG V20 for a couple of days, i would have cancel my order the minute i found out about the backorder been so far away.

First world problems dude. LG is small in terms of mobile phones. I am pretty sure they expected more demand because the notr7 grenades but damn dude. Think about the logistics of it. Production capacity. Samsung and apple I am quite sure get the red carpet and get to jump queues often. Getting extra production capacity can be problematic sometimes. Not like it can be expedited. And think about what time of year it is. The OEM's with hot phones are probably ramping up capacity for the holiday season. LG probably is too but doesnt have clout to work with. Hell for all we know theyve already doubled output but can't keep up with demand still. Lots more go into complicated devices like these. Many parts to source. Many parts to source that other OEM's use also. Another kink in the supply chain. You're just being a simple minded impatient temper tantrum child. If it bothers you that bad get a phone that is I'm stock everywhere. Some stores get more supply than others because they can't keep them on the shelves. Others don't want to take risk of stock taking up valuable storage space that could be used for other phones. Just sounds like you need to be bent over the knee or taken out to the woodshed and get a reality check. Lots of variables at play here behind anybody in the supply chain from the parts needed for the v20, assembly line, possibly qualified employees to assemble, shipping lanes and stores gambling on stock to stock. Not to mention accounting for defective phones or returns. Take a chill pill or go cry on your pillow. Geez.

Aah i see, making me the bad guy, aren't you? Nice try. if i were one of those normal "simple minded impatient temper tantrum child" that you are talking about, that is. You don't even know 1) for how long have i been dealing with this issue, 2) the troubles it caused me (even my TMobile account had a mess for this), 3) the amount of incompetent and also liars agents that are found in both brands Tmobile and LG, and i had to talk which each one of them, 4)The trick they almost make me fall into if i hadn't been so careful and been so persistent (such as making me pay for a phone i didn't have anymore, and is not only limited to that), 5) 3 important information relevant to this semester on my college that i missed out thanks to T-Mobile (since i sent them the phone and was expecting for the word of the supervisor to become true). Dude, i can keep on and on and on, and can say that im none of the things you said about me because with everything they did to me, my account, even with only the lies they wrote to me and also told me through the phone, i would have already sued them and surely i would have won the case. Since i saved every conversation and i would have only have to ask to T-Mobile to release the recorded conversations i had with them (which are a lot!, but it wasn't because i was impatient, im a very patient person, but because they had their own mess inside the system and had me on the center of that mess making me the fool of the play). If i hadn't called and chat so much i would have had to pay more than what the phone actually cost. So yeah, at this point anyone would have already become so mad that they would have probably broken their TVs i have seen people do more for even fewer things. So, do me a favor and stop assuming because you are nowhere near Sherlock Holmes' level.
(on the other hand, i don't wish that everything that happened to me already, happens to you )

Thank you for letting me know . I will give it a shot later today. :good::good:

Supply and demand, if LG made a crap load of phones in thinking that the note 7 users would get the v20 and then it didn't happen well then they made a lot of phones that might not sell without dropping the price.

I contacted them through FB.... They are even worst in there . now they say that they process and ship the orders in the same order they receive the request. Then HOW THE HECK there are people who bought it even a week later or more than me and they already have their phone with them or on its way, or even the estimated time showing a closer date when mine shows decemeber 13 until january 3?! Really? and then they claimed that it is even more, on their end the website shows to them that it is on december 19, so.... even more far away. It doesnt matter what people think about me after i say the following thing because i have already proven this over and over and over again. TMOBILE IS BUILT UP IN LIES! And only i know what i have been through the past 3 weeks and a half.

Perhaps you're an ass and they keep delaying your order on purpose?

Same thing happened to me. Preordered on Oct 18th and my estimated ship date was 11/25 - 12/16. The store I preordered from actually had then in stock so I cancelled my order and just bought it there. Somehow my $200 trade in credit I submitted was approved.

[Q] Charged for a "Free" phone

Hey guys,
About a month ago (Jan 20 I seem to recall) T-Mobile had an offer where you could get a free upgrade to a G2, only on their website.
My family had three G1s on our plan that were past due for an upgrade, since December, so we jumped at this offer.
We couldn't get the site to work, however, so we called in and a representative assured us that we would be able to get the three phones for free. We would have to call back the next day to do so, though.
After calling back the next day, we received another representative who told us that the offer was an error and shouldn't have been put online. Our response was simple- That's your problem, we agreed with the other representative in good faith and we should not have to pay for an error on your end.
After waiting about a week for that other representative to look at the call logs (which he never found, by the way), he called back and told us that since we've been waiting for so long and he never found the logs, we could have all three phones for free. We already knew there was an upgrade fee of $18 that we would have to pay, that's fine.
Now, a month later, on our bill we have three charges of "One Time charge for Handset Upgrade Revenue" that amount to $199.00 each. That makes our total bill for this month a whopping $1000.
This is far from "free" that we were promised. I am hoping it's a mistake on their end, but if I call them up and they start throwing in all of these excuses and explanations for why a "free" phone isn't free, is there some sort of agency for Customer Fair Treatment or something that we can report them to, or is there legal action that we can take?
Please, if you have any other advice or tips, it is greatly welcomed.
Hope to hear a response.

Sorry to hear about this. I've had a few issues with tmobile in the past 5 years i've been a customer, they've always been pretty good about resolving things to my satisfaction. I'd suggest a few things:
-If you have a twitter account, tweet something about your problem to @tmobile. It might not sound like much, but tmobile has some very active people working on twitter. When i had an issue around a year ago with my minutes and texts vanishing without being used, a tweet was really all it took to get the ball rolling. I got a direct message back within an hour, and recived a call the next day to let me know the glitch was fixed and offered me compensation.
-The Consumeris (consumerist.com) is a consumer advocacy blog. I've seen lots of stories on there similar to what you're dealing with (many from other providers too). From the stories i've read companies such as tmobile pay close enough attention to the site, and are quick to resolve any kind of issues that could result in bad press.
-If all else fails, last i checked tmobile offers a buyers remorse period of 30 days (might be less), if you arent happy with your phone for any reason, you can return it within that time.
I'd reccomend calling them and telling them if the issue can not be fixed you would like to return the phones. Another thing to maybe metion, if you where up for new phones, then your contract must have also been renewed, perhaps this could be considered a breach of contract on their part and you could mention that in a way that suggests you're thinking of ditching your contract over this (just say something like "verizon has the same deal in store").
Hope some of that helps. Good luck!
Honestly, if they can't fix the issue, tell them you want to be transfered to the loyalty department because you want to cancel. Those guys can fix anything. If you still aren't happy, file a claim with the better business bureau.

Agreed, call customer service and get with the "omgtheyregoingtocancelwtf" department and they will likely fix it. That or give the phones back. If they made a mistake they made a mistake, it doesn't entitle you to anything... if they are willing to fix it and let you keep them, then awesome.
More importantly though...
_____$1000 phone bill
_____-$199 G2
_____-$199 G2

$403 phone bill?!? what the hell?
File complaints with both the BBB and FCC. I had an issue with Sprint not honoring a discount coupon I used when I signed up and kept getting the runaround, but a BBB and FCC complaint led to someone higher up to contact me and get the matter resolved. Based on some google searching, it does appear T-Mobile responds to FCC complaints.

Interesting... I don't think the buyers' remorse thing would work, cause we have had the phones for over 30 days... and offering to give them back would be bad on our end because honestly, we love these new phones!
But yeah, the breach of contract you mentioned is a good point. We renewed our contracts so that we could get these phones, and if they take the phones back yet keep us locked in contract, I'm certain that the groups mentioned by the other posts (BBB and FCC) could help us out.

That Does make it look like less, haha. To clarify-
$199 x 3 = 600.00
+ 120.00 tax
+ 250.00 phone bill
+ 18.00 upgrade fee x 3
plus various charges
= $1000

Thank you very much. I hope either or both of these can help if the situation turns into something nasty.
I have to harass them to make sure they apply discounts or whatever, and they tried to wiggle out of my student discount when I activated my line...
Ah well. They're almost half the price of Verizon and my service is pretty good here.
We just called T-Mobile and a representative confirmed it was a mistake and dropped the charges.
We still have to wait until the next billing cycle to see for sure, but I think this has been resolved.
Thank you all for your advice and replies.

uppppppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
yeah ://....happened to me a couple of times there..

t-mobile sent me an empty box!!??

So yesterday I got my replacement G2X phone - I open the box and the only thing in the box is a return shipping label.
I swear I'm soooo sick of the crap I have put up with when dealing with T-Mobile.
Anyway I called t-mobile back and of course I had to talk to 3 different people - none of which spoke english well enough that I didn't have to say "what?" to every sentence they spoke. So now SUPPOSEDLY they're sending me another box (hopefully this time it will have a damn phone in it)....yet I get no confirmation email or anything - so I question if they really did or not.
I'm about to call back AGAIN and try to find out WTF is happening - if anyone here knows someone like a supervisor at T-Mobile PM me.
We have problems with UPS. There have been many accounts with the workers taking phones and resealing the box. If they are sending you another on then they are tracking the IMEI and you do not have it. Sorry you are having issues. I work there so if you need any help PM me.

Now that would piss me off. My luck would be "Sorry Mr Ickster we can't find any sign of it, you are SOL."
Wow ok so I guess its not all that uncommon. Geeze I sure as hell hope it doesn't take 3 weeks. Since I was at the 15th day they won't let me take it back to the store either - and I see the empty box looks like they were going to send me a refurbished phone - which I find 100% unacceptable as I bought a brand new phone 2 weeks ago for full price and it's defective. Next thing of course is I want my bill waved for however long it takes them to send me another one.
If they'd just of let me take it back to the store all this b.s. wouldn't of even happened. What a bunch of idiots considering they know they have a theft problem when doing it this way.
Hopefully it was the worst screen bleeder / rebooter ever.
wow i'd be so upset. good luck bro
wow. this is ridiculous. I hate thieves..

UPS= Ur Package Stolen!
I hate when they ship packages with UPS. When it gets stolen (before a delivery attempt made to your address) guess who steals them? The employees. Its funny when you track a package online and it gets to a UPS distribution center near your city. Then it stays there for days and days and they can't find it. You call up Amazon for a replacement, and then the same thing. Package #2 is lost somewhere at a UPS distribution center. Third package comes Fedex and boom it gets delivered. I knew a guy that worked at UPS and he told me some stories. Fellow employees offering iPods, cameras, laptops for $50-$100. A few of them got caught up in a sting but there will always be new employees stealing. Best thing of all was UPS didn't seem to give a damn when I called them about two missing packages. The UPS employees know what is inside the packages. Laptops, cameras, ipods, phones, etc, they all know what's inside.

Certain packages are used to ensure delivery and confirm receipt. Its too bad people know this and you would see people putting packages in their car.
Packages that never left the warehouse on a truck.

They never should've sent you a replacement phone. The policy is if you are still in your buyer's remorse period then they have to re-order you a new phone if yours is defective. They only send out replacement phones if you are past your buyer's remorse period.
I had this happened to me last week when they sent me a refurb. I called back and talked to customer loyalty instead of customer service and she apologized and ordered me a brand new phone.
You should do the same. Do not settle for a refurb.

Yeah, I had 3 brand new G2x and one refurb sent to me and they were all unsigned and just left on my front porch. So no issues with stolen phones here.

Had ups deliver my phone to the apt next to me. They signed for it and luckily took it to the office. BTW they NEED a signature to deliver a phone. It requires it for that type of package.
I'd say ur trusted delivery man took it.
He can't just leave a phone on your front door.

He has been my ups driver for 25 years. He would never do it, unless he was off that day and someone else took his place. Our front door is secure so if he happens to get in the hallway (someone leaving lets him in, or has a delivery in another apt in the building and someone lets him in) he will just leave it on the apartment door step. Even stuff that 100% needed to be signed for he will just leave in front of the door. Now if he cant get into the building and I'm not home he doesnt just leave it there. Only if he gets access into the building
this is what they have in tracking.. could they have been any more vague?

they're SUPPOSE to have you sign but most don't, i've had it happen many times. even on orders i specifically said i wanted a required signature.
if they deliver to the wrong house that person could still sign...btw

Where did you buy the phone from originally? If you buy the phone full price, you have a 30-day return period. 14 days is only when you buy the phone with contract.
If you bought the phone from the store, you should have been able to go there to exchange it for a new device. If you bought it online or over the phone, then yes, unfortunately you have to wait for another device to be shipped to you...and usually you have to send yours back first.
And you shouldn't have a problem getting credited for the amount of time you were without a phone.

G2x saved me $25 today

This may be no big deal to those that have had a smartphone for years, but the g2x is my first smartphone.. I'm just geeked by what happened today and wanted to shared..
My cable modem was dying so I had to go get a new one.. I really dislike buying things at local stores because of getting around 25%-50% savings on newegg, ebay, etc. But, the modem was about dead and I couldn't wait..
At any rate, I go to BestBuy and find one.. I'm standing in line for a register and I was like "hey, i got this new shop savvy app (barcode scanner). Lemme check it out".. to see how much I was getting boned for. As I start looking at the discounted prices online for 25%-35%, the next register opens. I walk up and say, "Boy, do you have any discounts/rebates for this modem? You guys are way overpriced." She looks at my phone, "Well, we price match for local retailers." I hit the back button, hit local retailers.. and find it at walmart for 25% less. We look at their website together on my phone, and she price matches it.
Is that cool or what? <3 this phone.
that is really cool!

All set on the rooting and CWM via Nvflash.. Any suggestions on messing around with it tonight for some fun? Or any apps?
I'm currently messing with the Wifi Analysis app.. After I put my new modem/router in.. I still wasn't getting a decent signal. It showed me which channel was giving out the best signal.. Now instead of bouncing between 1-2, sometimes 3 bars. it's holding steady at 3, sometimes 4.

well.. i have 2 cool apps I use that need a rooted phone. Maybe 3-4.. but these 2 stand out.. Titanium Backup (freeze, defrost, backup, and reinstall apps). And Seek Droid.. allows you to find your Droid if you lose it, but the best part.. you can wipe the phone, TURN ON GPS remotely, and a bunch of other things. Best .99 I spent.
EDIT: Plus, there are some cool things guys are doing.. Like creating ROMs and such. For instance, CM7 is getting hammered on w/ the 2.3.4 OS.. which means, hopefully..and eventually.. Google talk's video will be working on the front facing camera. Some flashes are tweaks to make the phone run faster.. And eventually, it may even dispense cash.

I have Seek Droid too without a rooted phone. Whats the advantage of running CM7 as opposed to just keeping the stock once the 2.3 is released?

The ability to run undervolted kernels which will save tons of battery life. Add-ons, special features and stuff you can't do on the stock rom, up to date support, increased performance. The list goes on. Oh yea and the risk of becoming a crack flasher.

oh, sorry.. thought it needed a root on that one.
From what I have read, it seems the stock GB will be 2.3.3 not 2.3.4. Also, it seems that cm7 is suppose to be the roms of all roms. Idk.. the way people talk about it, it's supposed to help the phone run smoother, probably better battery life... and I would guess it's less intrusive.
But ya know.. I installed one of the nightlies.. and I uninstalled it. It's not ready.. Once they have a stable release out, I'll give it another shot. But it made my phone bogg down and it used much more memory to operate. So idk... I'll check it out but I may stick with stock myself. Really, its just a geek thing to do and have fun with..
Rooting is easy and it's also very easy to undo.. If it's just for the titanium backup app so you can freeze that stuff like apppack, car home, and all kinds of other things... it's worth it imho.
OP you got lucky the person was unaware that Walmart online is a whole different animal than Walmart local. The retail stores are not affiliated with the online site for pricing or inventory. Many times they will be close but the local stores can't honor the online Walmart prices. I think its crap, and many local places around here know that and wont price match Walmart.com pricing.

yeah, this was funny. wait until you find out you can google printable coupons, and use them at stores. just say it came in an email and they'll discount you. ;D

It was in stock at 2 of the local stores. If it's available in-store from their site, then you get it at that price.
I don't believe in luck, but I do believe in coinciding events.

Has someone at your local Walmart store actually told you that? I have yet to find a store to honor the price regardless of stock. They all say the same thing. You can buy it online though and have it shipped to the store for free, but no manager will give you what's on their shelf for the Walmart.com price.
This is why the other big box stores around here wont price match Walmart.com prices.
But I digress...glad you got a deal.

Yeah, you are in for a whole new world, even before you root it. You've got google goggles [that just got revamped w/an update] that does countless of awesome things w/just a pic, from solving Sudoku puzzles to price checking etc! Then there is Key Ring [which I use religiously now] that, scans the barcode on your different 'rewards' cards [Best Buy, Gamestop, Footlocker, etc] will recognize it and store it. When you go to check out, instead of fumbling through your wallet or keyring, pull up the app, hit the matching icon and they can scan it off your phone. I even used it at a job I worked at, where every morning I had to scan my badge and my vehicle codes to get my handheld started up. While everyone else had to go to there vehicles after waiting for their paperwork, scan the code and wait as it went through it's final boot up, I scanned from my phone while I waited for my paperwork and was out the door. That was on my N1.
Start exploring, but I warn you, it gets addicting, ESPECIALLY once you've rooted and seen all the freedom and advantages you have w/an open source OS as opposed to the likes of iOS. I'm getting giddy just thinking about it. Excuse me for a moment...

There is a difference between asking walmart (or any other big box store) to match walmart's online price versus an item that is in-stock at the store whereas a person can make the purchase online and head over to the store and pick it up.
I see what you're saying if it's just an online-store thing and the item isn't available in stock.. But when an item is in-stock at the store and you make the online purchase, you go to the store to pick it up for that price. It's just a pick-up for an already purchased item.
If I were in a store showing them their online price for an item in stock, and they wouldn't match it. I would make the purchase, then show them the receipt and instructions to go to the store and pick it up. The person would then hand it to me and I'd walk out.
I have called them immediately after an online purchase and asked how soon they could have it ready for pick-up. The last time, the representative said they'll go to the shelf right now and grab the item for me.. I waited on the phone to make sure they had it in-stock. I then went to the store with my online receipt... showed it to them, they gave me my item, and I walked out..

My "waiting for UPS" story.

Hey all, just thought I'd share my UPS story, maybe for a little entertainment, but also to kill a few minutes.
What was your story like?
So I ordered my S4G on 6-29. Lovely timing, the holiday weekend meant I had to wait until Tuesday, not Monday, to get my new device!
Well, Tuesday rolls around, and I am at work all day, but my wife is home until about 5 p.m. All day and no driver. Turns out he got there at 5:23. Argh! The sticky note left on our door said a second attempt would be made Wednesday before 10:30.
Wednesday is here! Hurrah! To my wife's dismay, I reject an invitation to go hiking today because my phone will be here before 10:30. I suggest we can go after that, she agrees. Whoops. The check box is actually for 10:30 - 2:00. Wife aggro is fierce, I don't think I'll get to order a phone ever again, (I hope mine isn't all buggy with the touchscreen and stuff!!). No hiking after all. Anyways, 2:00 came and went, and now it is 5:22 and I am wondering if I will get to meet S4G today.
UPDATE: Arrived @ 6:57PM

Funny you mention this. I have a warranty replacement showing up today. I had it overnight shipped. Tracking says it will be delivered before 3:00PM and it is now 4:30PM. No sign of the UPS man yet.
Be happy you're getting it. My father ordered two last week and 1 of them is backed ordered and the other arrived today. Thinking about opening it to see if there's any difference with mine. Showing a later build date.

I'll be happy when I do get it... but not yet... 6:30 and still no S4G 30 minutes left in the UPS "workday"
They only work till 7:00 PM? I have received packages as late as 8:00 PM, maybe they work till all packages are delivered. Be positive

Here in NYC i received UPS shippments as late as 7:55 pm..i think they ship till 8:00 .
EDIT: LOL Stefan just beat me to it.
i have got stuff from UPS as late as 10:30 PM, but during holidays. They prob got backed up because of 4th of july.
I had a trip to europe planed and ordered a Mac Book Pro that was suppose to arrive 24th of december and I was leaving t europe christmas day. Long story short, I waited and waited and finally at 10:00pm they show up.
Yeah they ship until all packages are delivered. It says 7 is when they stop then it also says later for residences.
I always get the slow/late UPS guy when I'm waiting for something as great as a cell phone. When I decide to wait all day, they come late. When I'm not home, they come early. It sucks because it seems like they know when you're home or not. Lol
My story is all to familiar to me. On 7/02/11 TMOBILE agreed to ship out a replacement as I had 6 days left in remorse. They assured me that it would be overnighted as my current sensation is fast becomi g unusable. I figured that it would ship on Tuesday and be here Wed. Well T mobile did what they seem'to do more and more lately. They shipped it ground. I will not see the device until Thurs at the earliest. My original order was shipped overnight i guess they figure he is already on the hook so don't waste the overnight on him.
'
You all dont have ANYTHING on my TMO horror Story... I first want to say I have a post paid account for over 6 years and a newly opened flexpay account (what I'm using the sensation on) and I have a HORROR story. Basically I had to file and insurance claim because of liquid damage. For the couple of days I was waiting for my claim to process and get shipped I used my unlocked unbranded euro/asian sensation. until my replacement arrived. So it arrives and I turn it on and notice these 4 or 5 vertical digitized lines on the top right of the screen. I call Asurion right away. I hear a message saying "If you are having problems with your replacement press 1" so I press 1 and then another message giving me TMO's number to call. So I call them and get transferred to flex pay. I tell the guy the issue and he tells me I have to contact Asurion. I told him that I did and the message Asurion gives says if you have any issues with the replacement to call you guys. He then tells me my phone is unknown and is not under warranty. I explain I was using a phone for a few days before this replacement that was probably the unknown one. I give him the IMEI for the new phone. He insists it's not under warranty and I have to contact Asurion. I ask for a manager. He first tells me one is not available and I tell him I will wait. He comes back every couple of minutes to tell me he is still searching for a supervisor and that it will be a while. I tell him I had all day. This goes on for over 20 minutes. I finally tell him I'm calling TMO's corporate office on my other phone and in 2 minutes a supervisor gets on the phone. He repeats the same thing this guy tells me. I argue with him. Then he says it wouldnt be covered under warranty because it's physical damage.. I tell him it's not physical damage and he hangs up on me. I could tell I at this point I was talking to people in the Philippines.
So I call Asurion. I speak to an agent there and he tells me that TMO has to process the exchange as they no longer deal with that. As of Oct 13th of 2010 phones dont come from Asurion, they just pay for them and they are shipped from a TMO warehouse.. So he conferences TMO on the line. We get a US Tech Support Agent. We explain everything to him and he seemed to know the new policy. He said it clearly was a warranty exchange issue and they would get it taken care of for me, but since I was a flex pay customer he had to transfer transfer us to flex pay. We get to flex pay and the guy from Asurion explains everything. This time I could tell we reached an indian call center. The woman tells me the same thing the first guy at the start of this told me. The phone isnt under warranty and that I'd have to go through Asurion. The Asurion Rep tells her that before oct 13th that Asurion would process the exchange but now it's TMO's job and how can a phone that came from their warehouse not be under warranty. We fight with her for a good 20 minutes and ask for a supervisor. The supervisor tells us the same damn thing. He even tells her where to look in the system for the new policy and she doesnt pay attention to him. She hangs up on us! We call back and speak to another agent in the US, She tells us yes it's clearly a warranty exchange but fflexpay has to do it. We tell her what happened the first time and she agrees to talk to them first. She puts us on hold and talks to them and comes back and tells us, then transfers us to flexpay. Then we tell the indian agent everything again and she tells us the same thing. The phone is unknown and is not under warranty. So I had a bright idea. Let's activate a new simcard I had and see if it picks up the new sensation. We do that and it does! YES FINALLY!! Right? WRONG! She processes the warranty exchange and later that night I log into tmobile to check the status of the order. I see tracking info at top and a delivery date of the next day! GREAT!!!! Right??? WRONG.. I scroll down to the item that's being shipped to me... a FU**ing MYTOUCH 4g!?!?!?!?!? I call them up right away. Explain the issue to the agent he puts me on hold for over 30 minutes and is unhelpful. I ask to speak to a supervisor.. what does he tell me to do? CALL ASURION! WTF?!?!?! I ask to cancel my account and he transfers me to someone in america. I tell him the situation and he tries to help me. He goes to process the order and it wouldnt let him. He said he knew why and it was something to do with the order for the wrong phone. He tells me he will make a follow up note on my account and call me the next day to complete the order. The next day comes... no call.. So I call flex pay again... I tell her the situation and what does she tell me?? My phone isn't under warranty, to call Asurion. I explain everything we went through the day before. She refreshes her system and sees my phone is under warranty. She goes to process the exchange and I'm happy.. Everything is fixed right?? WRONG She gives me the order #. I go home and realize I forgot it at work, So I call in to get it. She gives me an order number and I ask if she is sure she is looking at the right one because there was another order on my account that was a mistake. She tells me the order she is looking at is for a HTC Sensation and that I should have it by July 7th. So sunday july 3rd rolls around and I check my.tmobile and I dont see any order there like I did when they sent me the MT4g, so I call and guess what?? She cant find the order!!! She then tells me what? I have to contact Asurion!?!?!? Are you fu**ing kidding me?!?!?!? So I ask to speak to a supervisor and get put on hold for almost an hour! A supervisor gets on the line and she cant find it. She then tells me I have to contact asurion. I get upset and I tell her no I dont, that THEY did the order for me. She asked if I had the order number but I didnt have it at that moment. She said she would have to put me on hold and you know what she did? She transferred me to asurion!!!!
I cannot believe this ordeal! NEVER have I had ANYTHING happen like that with my post pay account. I seriously no joke wasted at LEAST 5 hours on the phone trying to get this corrected and it's STILL NOT!
So top that! Sorry for the long post but had to get this **** off my chest.. I'm seriously thinking of switching to sprint because of this
I stopped by my office on sunday night and picked up the order # the 2nd woman gave me when she placed the correct order. I get home and guess what? It's the SAME EXACT order number as the order for the mytouch 4g

I stopped by my office on sunday night and picked up the order # the 2nd woman gave me when she placed the correct order. I get home and guess what? It's the SAME EXACT order number as the order for the mytouch 4g

That comic is soo true and hilarious. Seriously though, I've lost faith in UPS after seeeeveral "attempted" deliveries where someone was in my house all day and they claim to have knocked. Yea right. Their drivers are just becoming lazy and seem to have no sense of urgency when it comes to delivering packages anymore :-!
The damn UPS driver sent my Sensation to a random business that is completely unrelated to me. I had to call back and forth a million times for them to tell me that it was shipped to the wrong address. Only resorting to an investigation as a final option, I went there by myself and turns out that the employees of the random business were friendly and gave me my (opened) package. Turns out it was a day care center.
**** you, UPS. Good for nothing.

Same here. Promised overnight but they shipped it ground. Supposed to be here tomorrow. We'll see. I'm just hoping I don't have to go through another swap to get one that works...

For whatever reason my Sensation is showing more issues on a daily basis, now the volume in speaker phone just goes in and out and the random reboots are happening 3 and 4 times per day. For the first 12 days this phone appeared to be issue free now I have touchscreen-lag=random reboots-apps opening on their own-speaker phone volume getting so low I cannot hear it at all-screen freezes etc etc. All this happening in the last 3 day s after 12 days of seemingly good issue free performance. After reading other threads the last 3 days I am becoming more and more convinced that there are so few solid phones that the odds of getting one are very very slim. The one coming will be my fourth one and I will ask for a refund the first time this one that is on its way acts up. If it could be rooted and perhaps some of the issues fixed (that would be another matter)that would at least give me a glimmer of hope. Does not look like HTC will unlock the bootloader anytime soon and In my opinion this phone has multiple issues that may or may not be software related or fixed. Really wish that I had waited for whatever come out next(Would love to try the SGSII.

I always have the same **** happen when I call about a missing credit or something. Some flip will answer and I know i'm most likely gonna have to play the waiting game while they "find" an available supervisor. I just ask for an American agent as soon as I get those calls, If they refuse tell them you want to cancel. Customer Loyalty is the best place to get stuff resolved fast, at least in my experience. They'll do stuff that people will swear up and down is impossible if you tell them all the trouble you're having. I had over $80 in credits last cycle just from voicing my concerns to the right individuals. YMMV

One of many request for ICS status to the HTC FB page

I've had previous requests for ICS status for the TBolt and never have had a direct answer. So now, I demanded one

+1 Nice done, I am the one also not going buy any HTC devices in future.
Is it htc or vzw who is to blame? I rather suspect vzw.

I suspect vzw also. And i wont buy anything other than htc for build quality alone. You can have those flimsy other phones with easy dev and updates, but htc makes great phones. I was sold when my dinc got submerged in water yet continued to work great for a year.

Well, from the looks of that post... They are saying that they are trying to get more information regarding the progress of the update from the "inside". Which, to me, that implies their development team. I could be wrong, but it's speculation. No word back after that last post I made...
P.S.
I just noticed that the message was cut off from HTC. Here is the full reply they made regarding my comment.
We fully understand that this situation is less than ideal. We are waiting on a status update internally and as soon as we hear more from them we will pass it along here. We're just as eager to learn more as you. We apologize and we can assure you that we're doing as much as we can to get you the answers that everyone here is asking for.

How bout just giving us a good kernal and let the devs on this site take it from there!
What would lead you to believe the flunky who posts on facebook for htc knows anything or.even anyone to ask? He is told what to say and he says it. Asking him a question tells you no more.than asking a vzw store salesman anything. We probably know more about.it.than either of those "company reps "

I love the part about "you work at HTC" so go ask.... How many people work at HTC ? Haha !!! Someone has no clue about big companies.
I know other see it differently but the way I see it... that is a very corporate way of saying "go f*** yourself". I think they're just hoping we will forget so they don't have to push an update. Sadly enough the Photon 4G the first 4G Tegra phone for Sprint got that very sad news recently. I just don't think that HTC will balls up and tell us. /negativity
I'm feeling a Facebook protest page for this lack of service.

I'm starting to believe you're right after Motorola did this to Atrix owners a few days ago. I know it's a stupid dream, but I like to imagine that, in the future, some company will introduce a phone that runs AOSP and has chips with open-source drivers. What a cool gadget that would be.
Someone should start an online petition and make HTC / VZW put the update out !
Make them? LMFAO! Good luck on making either company do anything.
Both are huge companies that are supporting several devices, with prime focus going to development for new tech. Think about it, the TB is an old cell, we were lucky to see the leak. How much money will HTC make by putting ICS on TB? Nothing.
IMO, we got one update and a leak for a 2nd... we should only hope for an update, if it comes.. cool. If not, either wait for a dev or move on.
Sometimes the sense of entitlement from some posters in this forum is mind blowing.
Make them... I'm still laughing about that.

There seems to be a lot of tension here, and people do need to understand that this is an old phone. We were the first to get 4g LTE, and we had to be the guinea pigs for the network so with some awkward hardware and a non-standard RIL. HTC still made an excellent piece of hardware that I carry without a case or even a screen protector, and I will admit, I've dropped it and it has no scratches and no chips in it. I'd buy a new HTC phone on Verizon if it wasn't for Verizon's new policies. Heck, I'd be open to buying a phone off contract so I get out at any time, but I'm not going to do it because I have to, and as a reasonable data consumer who does have unlimited I feel no reason to pay the same(actually, more in my case) for less. I use ~4gb per month on my own, which is certainly acceptable and is in no way excessive, and shared data will raise my bill. As soon as my contract runs out(or I finally get PO'd at verizon and pay the ETF) I'm switching to Sprint and I'll be purchasing the HTC Evo 4G LTE.
I am certain that Verizon wants people to get off unlimited, so they will deny any updates for the Thunderbolt, because the earliest buyers are conveniently eligible for early upgrades now. I know of somebody who went into the store to buy a new battery and they tried to sell him a new phone because his was supposedly still running GB(which is false, he had Liquid ICS installed, LOL) and it is an older version of Android.

That makes sense. As far as the new policies go, they are dropping the unlimited data plan for anyone who upgrades to a phone? I know someone who upgraded about a year ago, as well as switched over his phone to someone elses family plan and retained his unlimited data
Plus you have to pay the phone upgrade charge now!
