Random frequent reboot, apps crashing, phone hangs... - LG G Flex 2

Hi all,
I have Lg g flex 2 LS996(Sprint) with ZV6 purchased in Ebay. (rooted and sim unlocked). It was working well for 6 months ( but thermal throttling was there). Suddenly last week, the phone started behaving mysteriously.
- Frequent random reboots
- Apps crashing (including basic apps like camera etc)
- Gapps not responding
- Notification bar/Button disappearing
I don't exactly remember what was the last action I did before this problem. (uninstalling few third party unused apps).
I tried Factory reset, but still the persists... I tried to flash the phone with .img file, but now the phone is not recognized by the PC. I tried following,
- uninstall and freshly install LG drivers
- uninstall and install MTB/USB stuffs from device manager
- different PC, USB cable
none of the above helped.
Does anyone faced this issue? Do you guys suspect any hardware issue here?
Kindly help. Now the phone is completely unusable .... :crying:
Note: the signal reception, wifi are all fine. but anyway the phone reboots very frequently.
Thanks
-Ramc

I got a brand new LG G Flex 2 yesterday and the same thing is happening. It happened right out of the box after restoring my Google account. There are little visual artifacts in the notification bar, the text gets scrambled for certain letters, every app crashes a few seconds after opening it, etc. I tried resetting it to no avail. Moreover, I can't even boot into Recovery Mode. Between this and my bad experience with the Optimus G Pro, I am about done with LG.

Any help here?

Atleast in my case there were no issues with visual artifacts... But apps are crashing and many times very slow and unusable. Notification bar and Onscreen buttons some times disappears. The main issue being the phone is not detectable in any of the PC.

Motorola Moto G (2015) bugs

Hi!
I have a third generation Motorola Moto G with 1 GB RAM. I bought it a few days ago, it's brand new, original Android 5.1.1 is on the phone.
The phone has some problems:
- sometimes SwiftKey doesn't react when I start writing... and it might take several minutes
- occasionally when I quit from somewhere, the phone freezes, it takes few seconds, then restart
- I don't get notifications when I get new messages in Messenger (I think it's not the phone's fault, Messenger has same bugs on other phones)
- when the Sleeping mode ends, the phone keep in quiet mode, and the alarm clock don't ring
I tried lots of things, but the phone has the same problems.
I hope you can solve my problems.
Thanks!
Sounds like every single "bug" you describe has absolutely nothing to do with the device, but rather the software you've got installed.
Yeah, these sound like software issues... I would factory default and try running it with just the embedded apps and see if your issues continue, which I suspect they will not. Then slowly add your apps back in a few at a time and try to see where the issue is coming from.
BTW, I use Swiftkey as well... never seen a delay at all, but I do have the 2GB RAM version.
Swiftkey used to be a good keyboard alternative but as far as I'm concerned, it totally sucks now. With the recent versions, I had delays so bad on both my phone and my Samsung tablet that I had to drop it. You can stop the keyboard problem by going stock or try another keyboard, there are tons out there. My favorite is Smart Keyboard Pro, no swipe, but I don't use swipe anyway.
Yesterday I tried a full factory reset, I did not keep any apps. I think it works.
I will install all applications step by step, and I can see which is the guilty.
Thanks the advices!

And Touchscreen sucks. Ghost touch can be fixed by flashing old touch drivers, but the panel is insensitive and doesn't catch some of the strokes.

rooted moto g lollipop system ui has stopped no stock launcher... PLEASE HELP!!

hi all,
i stupidly decided to root my moto g - i say 'stupidly' bc i clearly didn't have the knowledge to have that much power... it was working fine for several weeks & then it started having issues booting & charging if i accidentally let the battery get too low. that happened a couple times & i was able to get it working again by charging it in different ways (wall, computer) & letting it alone for a day or so. but then the other day i turned it on & i got the 'Unfortunately System UI has stopped working' & gave me the option to click 'I'm feeling lucky.' once pressed the phone would boot up (though it took much longer than usual) & when it finally did, i'd get various messages such as 'exchange services has stopped,' motorola notifications has stopped,' 'System UI has stopped' - basically everything has stopped & they just kept popping up & then the phone would freeze. before the phone would freeze, in between messages, i could still get into my apps & other parts of my phone, but it would always eventually freeze after a few minutes (or less). i tried various troubleshooting techniques (reboot in recovery, factory reset, etc) which eventually led to doing a hard factory reset. unfortunately, i believe at some point before all the problems started i must have deleted some system things i shouldn't have, including the stock launcher (i was using Buzz Launcher) so now it's returned to factory but missing some vital components.
here's the current state of my phone: it will boot up (though it takes much longer than usual) but as soon as it does i get the message 'unfortunately, system UI has stopped,' 'exchange services has stopped,' 'motorola notification has stopped,' & 'System UI has stopped' again. when i click on 'ok' for that last message, i get the flash of a weird red window & then just a black screen that shows the (correct) time, battery level & phone signal in the upper right corner but it's frozen. before it freezes completely, the only thing i can get into/click anyway is the status bar at the top but the window doesn't even drop down. so the phone is basically booted up but useless.
i've done tons of research & looked into using a toolkit or flashing android/moto stock but i'm using a Chromebook & nothing is compatible with it that i've found so far. & i'm not even sure how to get into the phone via a Chromebook, if it's possible.
PLEASE HELP!! i'm getting desperate. can't afford to buy a new phone right now & i really need this thing to work again.
SHORT STORY: Moto G, System UI has stopped, missing some vital stock stuff, phone boots up, no launcher, Chromebook, last system i was using was Lollipop
does anyone have any idea...? also, keep in mind i'm clearly not as knowledgeable about this stuff as most of you or i never would've gotten myself into this situation. so keep your responses as if responding to Android/Moto G for Dummies. ;-P Thanks!!
Flash a custom ROM via custom recovery
Check out CM11/12. I have the boost 3g version with Blisspop (CM12) and it works great.
Also, if you created a backup before you went root you might try restoring it instead of factory reset.
Make a wipe, or reflash the rom
Chromebook
thanks for the replies guys but my issue is trying to do any of the above from a CHROMEBOOK. in order to flash a ROM though, I need to install the Motorola android device driver & I've yet to find one that's compatible with Chromebook - I'm not sure there is one... anyone have any experience in flashing ROM or any other Moto G fixes from a CHROMEBOOK? thanks.
Can u still access your recovery?

Problems with MM rebooting (even after 2 resets)

Hello,
I have a new AT&T H900 not rooted for past 5 months. It was working fine until the MM forced update. It started to shut down (apps stopped responding) some of my apps. I read that I needed to reboot fresh, so I did. Even directly after reboot, apps still kept shutting down (stock apps like Google, messaging, just to name a few) at different times, even before adding my old apps. I decided to reboot a 2nd time with the addition of clearing the cache every time ( I read somewhere that this should help). It seems that the apps seem stable, but now my device keeps rebooting at a moments notice (specifically when it is computing multi tasks). It has become very unstable. How can I fix this? Should I try a 3rd reboot? Thanks.

This is very odd. Usally apps closing like that mems theirs a compatibility issue. For now lets focus on your rebooting.
Try leaving your phone with the battery pulles for atleast 10 minutes. If that doeant solve your problem, see if it randomly reboots when you have it charging. My G3 did that if i ran more than one thig with it off the charger. And my case was a bad battery. So it may be your problem aswell

Why does my Google Pixel randomly reboot?

Hi. My device worked just perfect until 5 days ago. It slowly began to ignore some tasks like opening apps or doing calls.
2 days ago my google pixel with Android 8.0 started to ignore every input i made, like opening apps or trying to reboot. It behaving like this after taking some pictures with the rear cam. After some attepts in opening apps it started to reboot. But instead of a normal reboot it stuck in a booting screen (the one with the Google G and a gray animation bar underneath). It took a while and i waited until it seemed that the OS booted correctly. But after this my device started to reboot randomly after a few minutes. After a while i figured out, that i can hold the power button while the screen with the google G was up to reboot it normally. This worked so that the phone was at least half an hour or more working until it rebooted again out of nowhere.
So far i tried to get it in safe mode and delete some apps like whatts app etc. In safe mode i didnt notice any crashes so far.... but in normal one it does a lot so deleting apps wasnt helpful. Turning on flight mode was not helpful either.
What can I do? What could it be?

Same thing happens with my Pixel, sometimes the phone is just get stuck on some random screen then I have to press and hold it for 15 seconds to let it reboot again. Lately I have started to see another problem, when it reboots bunch of google apps and services stops working and gives hell lot of notifications. All this started to happen after Android Oreo update

I noticed problems with my ear speaker as well. And i cant make phone calls. The phone doent respond anymore when i try to.
Same problem after android 8.0 update
If you have installed the latest Google phone/dialer app, that is likely the problem, was for me.
Find the app in settings and uninstall,it will roll back to a previous version and hopefully fix your issues.

My pixel does the same thing, ever since I updated to 8.0, have you tried doing a factory reset? I haven't done it yet, I have been uninstalling apps for the last couple of days, when it is in safe mode it works good, but when it's not, it freezes and restarts. I'm going to try uninstalling the latest version on google dialer to see if it helps.
I just want to update everyone in case you are having a problem with the random reboots.
I uninstalled the phone update and it was still randomly rebooting so I backed up the stuff that I needed and just did a factory reset. I have been a full day on my phone without any problems. I did a factory reset twice, just in case, for some crazy reason, the phone still had a problem, I wiped it twice! I think you'll be good with only wiping once.
Anyways to sum it all up, I did a factory reset, restored all of my backed up data from my pixel, I had about 120 apps and the phone has not had a problem since. I hope it helps someone else.

Mate, please report if you're still getting the reboots. Mine disappear for two weeks after I do a factory reset and then come back. Same happens in Safe Mode. Bug report claims it's 'Sense Key : Hardware Error [current]' and Google rep says it's a hardware issue (Toshiba's memory or something). Buganiser thread is here.
wrong place sry
Had this on my pixel xl. I was on the 8.1 beta.
factory reset, rolled back to 8.0
8.1 ota official
haven't had a reboot in over a week now

Yea, the issue is back, has been for about 2 weeks. This phone is really starting to be a pain in the ass, I can't believe that it happens so often. Did you do a warranty fix?
That's a pity. Yes, I did. Got the device roughly two and a half weeks ago. Flashed 8.0 and then sideloaded 8.1 right away. Knock on wood, all good. But there's still a report every other day in Buganiser of a phone even on 8.1 doing this.
Got mine at release. November 16. Google won't replace it either. I have a one pixel brick
I have the same problem. However, it is not frequent enough on Android P beta. But as soon as I go back to the stable build, it starts to do the same thing. Did you guys have any luck resolving this or should I send it back to the vendor I bought it from. They won't replace the device in Pakistan but may be will fix it in some manner.

Is my phone on the way out??

Hi All,
I've had the phone about 8 months, UK model.
About 2 months ago, when scrolling in Wikipedia pages on Chrome browser, the display would alternate between normal and blue light (eye comfort). It still does occasionally.
From a few weeks ago, the keyboard sometimes take about 10s to appear.
A few days ago when on voice call from the phone other person can't hear me but I can them while voice call on Whatsapp is fine both ways. Restarting phone seems to solved it for now.
Then yesterday while trying to access settings from either the home screen or app drawer, it fails but you can see its attempting to as you see the settings screen momentarily then a message comes up saying settings failed to start several times and whether to restore by clearing history. Doing that doesn't work. The only way that I can is to touch and hold the settings icon till the search option comes up and then type the particular setting I want.
Before I do anything to fix this, are these symptoms an indication the phone is on the way to a complete breakdown? Would it be a software problem and I suppose the 1st step to fix is factory reset.
Has anyone experience this on their phone?

Unfortunately it's the Oppo software that causes these issues... We hope we can unlock the bootloader soon and flash custom roms to remedy these problems since Oppo are just incompetent.
Chrome colour shift is fixed by typing into your chrome address bar and type: "chrome://flags" then search "Dynamic Color Gamut" and set it to disabled (or it was enabled, I forget since I didn't have the issue myself)
Oppo uses the wrong microphone on third party apps like whatsapp, signal, instagram etc. and we have to wait for an update to fix that. (Issue has been posted here before)
The rest of the issues you described sound like some software instability caused by the Android 11 update. You should save your data and do a factory reset.
If the issues persist after the reset and you didn't install any dodgy apps or modified the software using adb then consider sending the phone in for repair.
OK thanks for replies. So factory reset then...
