Question. So I have a stock at&t s7 edge and its never been rooted. I have rooted and flash phones before so I'm not new to the game. I'm currently on APH1. Just curious if I have to go through the root process then be able to flash this through flash fire. Just want to confirm as I download this rom. Thanks

No it has no bootloader or modem it is based on the latest firmware which if you take the OTA then you would have v4 bootloader. This rom should work on any bootloader as it only flashes the system partition...

@jds3118 - just installed this and it's up and running right now with no issue.
I'm on ATT 935A with 935U PG9 Bootloader v2 and this new PI2 code. See screenshot.
I noticed on this ROM and the EchoE rom the EZ Package Disabler Pro won't work (license check is saying fails), so I am using TiBu to freeze apps.
Note to others, install does everything automatically, there is no Aroma for selecting any behaviors. The ROM will boot up with the AT&T logo and stay like that for about 15 mins (watch a tv show or something and come back; be patient, it will boot!).
android pay setup without issue. haven't been to a store yet though.

What were you running previous to this ROM? Did you flash directly over it, or did you wipe anything?
I am on rooted stock PI2 and having some issues. Wondering if I'd be okay without wiping data since it's the second firmware.

see my signature.. I'm coming from echoerom. However before that I was on 935u pg9 rooted.
This will erase system and data and then install. So you don't need to wipe.. it will not touch your external SD card either.
@jds3118
couple things i've noticed so far:
1. SuperSU prompted that the binary needed updating (2.78). I noticed that root on boot wasn't checked, so I checked that and rebooted, message went away.
2. Cannot login to snapchat. It complains when it is verifying the device. Sends you to: https://support.snapchat.com/en-US/a/failed-login
Please Note: Snapchat works best on devices running original software, and Snapchatters using a "rooted" Android device may experience issues. Rooted devices often circumvent Android security defenses and may not be compatible with Snapchat.
One other thing I am going to try over the weekend is to return to an AT&T v2 bootloader and reinstall this ROM. With the U firmware, I am not seeing any of the wifi calling, etc.
Also, your engboot mods are definitely the best I've tried so far. It would be cool if you had a flashfire zip just containing your kernel (and what other changes you make) and package that up (kind of like the v15 zip).
otherwise, this rom is pretty slick, going to give it a couple days to run apps and settle in.
thanks!

Maybe someone can help: I installed the ebay app from the appstore within the gearmanager. It installs fine on my Phone, but I get an error from gearmanager saying it can't be installed.
I think the error is for installing it on the gear 2, because I can't find it back in my apps.
the same thing happens with apps like CNN and Watch Styler. they are all apps where you have a Phone app that installs and and a part that goes to the gear 2.
thanks for the help and hopefully answers

OK heres what I did. Also to note I'm on the AT&T Note 3.
If you followed this guide below reverse all steps and remove everything they said to do first before you proceed.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2723862
1 Power off watch
2 Go to application manager and uninstall Samsung Apps, gear manager, connection manager, host manager, basically anything that has a icon of the gear watch next to it.
3 Go here post 3310 and get Samsung Apps and gear manager. Also hit that thanks button for BeastSpencer.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2709701
4 Make sure to turn off xposed module for gear notification hide. (If using it)
5 Reboot phone into recovery (I use safe strap, dang bootloader lock)
6 Now flash the Samsung Apps you downloaded earlier.
7 Wipe cache/dalvik them reboot.
8 After fully booted, start Samsung Apps and it will say it needs to update, let it do so.
9 Reboot back into recovery and flash hear manager.
10 Wipe cache/dalvik again, reboot.
11 Now power on watch.
12 Start gear manager and it will need update, let it do so.
13 When it's done updating try connecting to watch, it will say watch needs restored, let it do so, after reboot, it will try and connect, you will have to accept all the Eula again and confirm pass code.
14 Let it all settle in and then try to install the eBay app, if all went well you will be golden.
15 Profit from your success. Lol

It did not work for me on a Note 2 running ditto ROM
The zip's did not install the apps
I had issues when i first got the gear. So I reflashed my rom. Then I was able to install apps. Then one by one I started uninstalling the apps II usually do. Turns out it was something with Samsung Hub. As soon as I uninstalled it, apps stopped installing on my gear. Tried re installing Hub and it still didn't work. So reflashed rom again and got it working again. Haven't touched hub anymore.

Well I finally got things working on my note 2.
I guess it has somethings to do with kitkat, because I went back to a custom rom with android 4.3, everything works fine then,
when I flash a 4.4 rom it does not work anymore, no watchstyler, CNN or Ebay.
So for now it is android 4.3, just to have it working
So I updated to 5.0 lollipop via ADB flash a couple days ago, and I realized that without xposed + root, I really cannot stand this phone... I need the simplicity that xposed gives me to make using my phone much easier.
So now, I want to downgrade back to 4.4.4 KitKat. Has anyone here tried? What I tried was downloading the 4.4.4 factory images, extracted it, and edited the flash-all.bat file and removed the "-w" command to save my data. It flashes fine, but then the phone is stuck in the boot animation and doesnt get past that.
Has anyone here successfully DOWNGRADED and KEPT THEIR DATA intact? Would appreciate it a lot!

yes. I did root it and it worked well. However, one of my company apps that I have to use on my phone detects my phone is rooted and won't open.... Xposed had a module (root cloak) to hide the fact that I had root for that app so it worked

Biggest mistake, no I didnt
Worst case I am stuck with 5.0 lollipop until there is a version of Xposed for ART... or if I can figure out how to use the company app on a rooted device.
I sincerely doubt your phone settings for 5.0 will be compatible with 4.4.x
You will have to wipe. If you're rooted, you can at least restore user apps and data but the android settings, you'll have to do yourself.

Funny enough I haven't gotten the notification for Ota update yet... Maybe because I used cf auto root to root the phone and it modifies the kernel I think.

My SM-N915FY reboots appx. 10 times per day. It's a stock phone, no root so no custom roms or mods. I had this phone since 5.1.1 and the phone is now at 6.0.1 patch level 1 from June 1, 2016. - In case i root my device, is there a list of Samsung bloatware that is know to be safe to remove? My aim is to remove everything that might cause these reboots.

Flashing a Custom ROM is easy. The tricky part is rooting and installing custom recovery. Since you are already on the latest Android version, you can disable any app that is causing battery drain..after rooting. Here is a useful guide...

You can find ROMs in the Galaxy Note Edge section of this forum. I changed my Note Edge for a Galaxy J7 and it's faster, more modern and has a battery life 10 times longer than my Note Edge. Ah, and no reboots.
No more Note Edge for me.
Hello. I'm rooted on Marshmallow 6.0.1, using Xposed Framework. I downloaded the CPE1 OTA update, and installed it successfully, using Flashfire so that i could maintain my root and recovery. I can't get the notification for the update to go away though.
I don't want to select "install" on the notification, without using Flashfire, because i think it will remove root and recovery, or cause some other problems. Besides, it's already successfully installed, i read the new build number in "About Phone" setting!
I've read methods, like disabling the system update app, but as far as i understand that'd prevent me from being notified of future updates, which i don't want.
Is there a file i can delete, using Total Commander, or a one-time, simple fix to remove the update notification?
Thank you kindly!

Out of curiosity, what release were you on before? I'm on the rooted PA1 release from the dev forum here and don't want to lose root (or twrp). If flashfire will do it for me, that's awesome.
Well I tried installing it but it rebooted to twrp recovery and twrp failed to install it since you need the stock recovery to install updates.
Thereforw doing OTA won't do anything it will most likely solve your problem of the notification not going away

dmolavi, I'm not sure what my previous build was, i just know my current build matches the build number in the info of the OTA. Flashfire installed it no problem; just make sure to check the "maintain recovery" option. Flashfire works by temporarily reverting to stock, installing the update, then restoring your root... I'm not sure of the specifics.
svz235, i ended up doing the same as you, but then it re-downloads the update, and keeps notifying me, in a cycle of failing, downloading, and notifying :-/

Disable the system update app then re-enable it again

Did you download the OTA but just not choose to install, or did you sideload it somehow?

Disable was grayed out, so I used the "Disable Service" app... So, I disabled it but then, it displayed a notification that said "checking system" indefinitely, and the update notification came back!

Yes, I downloaded it, but ticked "later" in the install options, then opened Flashfire and it automatically recognized it, and allowed me to install it.
I am curious to use flash fire myself to install the latest update. I tried using flash fire to flash the CPE2 update but it didn't work I am still stuck in CPE1. What settings did you use to flash it successfully?

svz235, CPE1 is the latest isn't it ? It's listed in the description of the OTA, and so is CPE2. I think it the version you get just depends on your phone model and carrier.
Flashfire recognized that i had an OTA, and automatically set the settings. I just made sure to select "maintain recovery" as well.

And i STILL have the notification!

Can you post the OTA file for download? My phone won't download it, says it's been modified. I don't know if that's due to TWRP, or the fact that I think i tripped knox a while back...

Well I have the SM-g900p from sprint flashed over to boost. I had CPE1 already installed. Then I got notification of CPE2 coming out. I did try flashfire but it keeps failing on me for some reason I go to build number and it is still on CPE1.
Alright, so it turns out I was mistaken... did I mention I'm somewhat of a noob? Anyway, CPE1 was the original mm6.0.1 build from Sprint, CPE2 is the update. They list it like this in the OTA info: CPE1>CPE2, I guess just to show it's going from cpe1 to cpe2... confused me because I thought they were just different builds for different models and carriers. :silly: So, FlashFire didn't work for the update. I ended up uninstalling Xposed Framework, and unrooting with SuperSU, then tried the OTA, but it gave me the message "Your phone has been altered in an unauthorized way" and wouldn't install the OTA. So I went to sammobil.com , downloaded the latest CPE2 build, flashed it with Odin, then rooted it again, and installed Xposed. Everything went smoothly, I'm on the newest build, rooted again, and no more notification... Yayy!!

I rooted my device and happily started debloating.
AOD (which I really do not need) also had to go, but it seems this is giving me issues with my lock screen. The issue being that there is no clock widget installed, causing me to have a lock screen only showing an ICE number. There is minimal and not being able to tell the time at a glance...
I tried re-installing, but it keeps force closing on me (cannot modify the settings, device freezes for short times). No permanent damage; but I cannot get it to work.
Tried clearing cache and data for AOD, of no avail.
Anyone know what I am missing in order to get it re-installed?
Thank you!

Still on stock ROM; had to use Odin just yesterday to fix an issue with the Play Store (same thing; issue, had to uninstall, continued force closes).
How can I flash the stock ROM (given it is 3,5 GB)? Put it on my SD card and flash with TWRP?
Thanks.
Just download the stock ROM zip for your device and carrier from sammobile and Flash using odin using download mode on your phone.
If you were rooted is simpler, just download a stock based ROM like SolDier's and flash it through TWRP.

How about installing AOD and then setting it as a system app with Magisk? There's a mod available to do that. Maybe it'll work then? Definitely worth a try before reflashing stock.
Also make sure you install a compatible version from APK Mirror. Most newer versions aren't compatible with the Galaxy S8. Go ahead and install 3.2.80.4 (that's the one I have installed on my phone right now).
Perhaps try installing that version and then try it out before going through the procedure of installing Magisk.
Hope that works for you.
see whether it disabled or no

This works almost! No continued forced closes; however the screen on action takes forever (in comparison to other actions on the S8),
I am just wondering how come the re-install does not work properly. Titanium removed the APK; I install another one.
Why is AOD acting weird?
