Screen pealing? - Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note5

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed their screen peeling off in one of the corners. The top sheet of glass is separating from the black/blue metal underneath making it look like a screen protector bubble. Rather than being in the middle though, it's on the top left corner, and appears to be getting worse. I tried pushing it back down and that did nothing to help, and appeared to make it worse. So I stopped touching it, but it has spread to the LED light and it's about 2/3 of the way down to the screen.
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had that problem and if anyone has any suggestions? I'm just a couple of weeks outside my warranty. I didn't drop it on that corner either. Verizon basically said they would do nothing because it's not 'an official bulletin' but Samsung said they would fix it, but it would be gone for about 12-14 business days. Verizon said they wouldn't do a loaner phone, but the guy told me off the record, they do have a 14 day return policy. But then there is a restocking fee.
Any suggestions? Anyone else have this issue?

Yes this had happened to me after having their phone for like 2 months I called Verizon's stupid ass they blamed me saying it was my fault and that I have to pay for an insurance replacement that it was not a manufacturer defect which it was I was so very angry I will never buy a Samsung piece of **** again because now I'm stuck with a ****ty ass phone that I can't even root it's been out for a year now still no root but the Verizon Note 7 has already been rooted what the f***

That's exactly what is happening to my wife phone right now, I emailed samsung and they answered me saying that it seems to be a screen protector problem and that I should remove the screen protector to check if that solve the problem and to contact them back if the problem persist, I'm attaching some pics to show my screen

Mine did this too. I had verizon replace it.

I run a repair shop and have seen this on multiple devices

Happened to me with att device though. Took it to a device support center for another problem and they were going to replace but because I had that same thing. They told me it was abuse on my end. Literally took the phone out the case and showed them a mint condition phone minus that crap. Told me I could pay the $99 deductible and haven't it sent in. Told them I wasn't paying sh*t cause my phone was under warranty. They wanted to play games so I played back and got what I wanted and more

Can the bottom cover be bought anywhere?

Hi,
I dropped my N1 some time ago; surprisingly enough after bouncing a couple times and sliding through concrete face-down, it still worked and was in top condition, no scratches on the screen. The bottom cover was dented though, with a piece of the black plastic layer showing.
I would like to know, is there any way to get one of those covers, to replace the damaged one? Apparently it's pretty easy to remove them.

Warranty? lol

I don't think the warranty is going to cover damages caused by dropping the phone. I'm also abroad (writing from Spain) so probably sending it back is not an option.
HTC UK definitely have them, whether they'd ship you one is anyone's guess.

Definitely worth finding out. What would be the best way to contact them? By mail? By phone? Do they have a "replacements" department that I should address to?
Just call 'em I guess, mine was replaced under warrenty by them as it wasn't the best fit from factory.
i would call them if i were you.
i just got off the phone with HTC repair support. my battery cover was stained with ink and it wouldn't come off. jokingly i asked if that was covered by warranty, he said YES!!!
they are shipping me a new one this week, for free!!!
Given that the blotches on the antenna cover seem to be caused by the lovely little neoprene pouch, it's fair that it should be covered I reckon.
Just wanted to said that I called HTC UK this morning and they said I can send my phone for repair but I'll probably get charged since the scratch is my fault. I don't think I'll do that.

black one s fell and got scratched, return with reason of mao failure?

hello everybody, my phone fell down on monday and the body got scratched, as i can see from the pictures posted here, i think i could replace it because of the mao failure issue, do you think it´s worth a try ? the phone is 3 weeks old

If you're getting scratches that AREN'T due to the fall, then you should be able to return it. HTC has said that anyone with issues with it can return their device. Despite the damage that the fall caused, the MAO coating is faulty, and you should be good to go.
well i only had 2 scratches from the mao issues, that´s why i´m asking if it looks different from mao failure or does it look like real scratches ?
Those pics are way too blurry to take a guess.
What you dropped it on? Rocks, pavement, wooden front porch? The chips or flakes of MAO come off pretty clean, I guess if HTC gets a phone that has clearly visible scratches next to a "chip" they could decline free repair, because those scratches are a pretty sure fire way to tell.
Circumstancial
It depends. If you're going to take it back to a retailer, it'll be a coin toss. Due to Loss Prevention policies implemented by many retailers, they've become more and more stringent on exchanges. If you're willing to send it to HTC, I'm sure they'll send you a new/refurbished one since they've acknowledged the MAO issue.
Couldn't hurt to try.
But still it depends much on the way you dropped it (and on what). Mine fell from my pocket the other day and didn't get as scratched as one would have expected.
But I'm one of them with "a lucky phone" that doesn't have the flaw coating issue
If you put some good effort into it - you will most likely get it repaired.
i have been at the retailer´s store and showed them the "coating issues", they asked if i have my bill and everything with me (i didn´t because i just wanted to check if it is possible) and they said i should come back with everything and then i will get a new phone
edit: i have to unroot/relock bootloader if i´m returning it right?
Recommended
It's recommended that you wipe your phone to get rid of any personal information but most retailers won't check to see if the phone is rooted. As long as you are still at the stock ROM, then the sales associate may or may not have the ability to tell you have rooted it but they will most likely not care.

[Q] strange issue with screen

Me and my wife both have the htc 8x for tmobile and about 10 minutes ago her screen literally exploded... I am just wondering if this is a common issue or what needs to be done. I know how to replace the screen and what not but this is really confusing me. And she was laying on the bed with it sitting on her chest not plugged in or anything. It looks as if someone hit it with a hammer or it fell square on a rock. Any input is appreciated.
This is the first I have ever heard about something like that happening to this device, but it sounds like a manufacturing defect. I'd try and get it replaced under warranty.
Semi-related, but someone else on the Verizon forums has his Gorilla Glass phone spontaneously explode as well. When he contacted Corning, they wanted him to send it in so they could investigate. https://community.verizonwireless.com/thread/772042?start=6
Yeah it was weird... She was about 10 feet or so away and it madt an audible pop. It blew glass all over her. We were able to put the bigger pieces back on and tape it over but still... The phone was new in box like 2 weeks ago.

I'm not trying to question your account because it is definitely bad either way. But I am confused regarding the first post that says she had it on her chest on the bed, and your latest post saying she was 10 feet away? Trying to visualize what happened.

OnePlus seal issue

Just received my Pro and have an issue with the seal around the screen. There is some pieces sticking out and near the grill in the second pic you can see that the distance from the grill to the screen isn't consistent. Concerned about water and dust.
Anyone else have this issue?
I've contact 1+ and they want me to send the phone back for them to look at it and decide if it deservers replacement. They said it could take 7-10 days, 12gb/256gb models are 9 days out right now so I figure it will be longer. I can't be without a phone for 2 weeks basically. They can't cross ship even if I put down a deposit for the second phone.
Any suggestions?

Dude go see my post I just made in this forum. Run away, 90 hz isn't worth this.
Is this something you just noticed or is this something you typically inspect for with you get your phone(s)?
No issues on mine. Did you drop your phone OP? Is that even a oneplus 7 pro?
Yes it is and I just barely took it out of the box when I took the pic.

I just got back from exchanging mine. I didn't have a seal issue but my issue was the screen colors started to appear washed out after about 3 days of use. At first I thought it was maybe a setting or something until I rebooted into fastboot and recovery. The white text also appeared washed out on there. It was definitely a hardware issue. The screen eventually became an all yellow tint and was completely unresponsive to any touch input. I'm hoping it was just a lemon and I have better luck with my new one.
My device also is flawless on both sides. Great build quality as always when buying a Oneplus.
But yours definitely looks kind of odd and personally it would totally freak me out.

Inner screen protector failure.

All of the sudden this morning started peeling off from the center. There is hard bump under this spot from day 1 when you fully open the hinge. Now what? Remove completely or take it to the Samsung service center to apply new one? The whole purpose of keeping this phone because of beautiful big screen is now gone. Time to dust off my "old" Note 20 Ultra?

That sucks.
This why I loathe these phones.
I would send it back to Samsung; don't make their mistakes yours.
Personally I'd press them for a full refund.
This technology isn't ready for prime time.
No more exploding batteries but still the Fold screens continue to fail...

Just peel it off and install an aftermarket one. It is so much better than what the phone came with. That's what I did and I love it. Took me about 7 protectors til I found one I liked. I'm partial to the matte ones. The screen is resilient, i just yanked mine off. Some leave it off and have never been happier.

There shouldn't be any bumps underneath. There could be some small particle lodged in there. Go to the service center, get them to repair under warranty or better yet, ask for a replacement or refund.
