Samsung Galaxy Tab E repair question - General Questions and Answers

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab E from AT&T (yes I know AT&T, forgive me) to use in conjunction with my Samsung Galaxy S7 active. I've had it for four weeks and have sent it to Samsung two times for repair. I've called AT&T twelve times and Samsung three times. After about thirty to sixty minutes the tablet over heats and locks up. (hot spot on the back just above the AT&T logo) The first time Samsung sent me a new charger and cable. As you can guess, this solved nothing. I returned it to Samsung. this time the repair tracking notice shows this:
FCL replaced PBA
update software added USB cable
When I googled PBA I got this forum and Philippine Basketball Association.
I have two questions:
1* What is the PBA?
2* Does anyone know what is located inside just above the AT&T logo that could be getting hot enough to lock up the device?
Thanks

Is there warranty on a used Infuse 4G purchased from EBAY?

I bought a used Infuse 4G from eBay 3 months ago, it was working fine until just recently it stopped taking charge. It will not charge through the charging port of the phone. I have to charge the battery using an external charger and then put it in. My question is if I take this to an AT&T store, would they swap it out for another one? If not through AT&T, does Samsung do warranty replacement? Thanks.
Sure as long as its not a year old. You would have to do the warranty replacement through Samsung

AT&T wont replace it, you have to call Samsung support and open a Warranty repair ticket, sometimes if there is a lot of damage to the phone, they will replace it or otherwise will repair it
Att will not help you but Samsung should. I got mine a few mounths ago from e-bay and then I started to get a line down the middle of the screen that was blue. I sent it to Samsung and they replaced the screen for free with only 2 day work (4 days traval time via ups each way though.) Try calling Samsung as even if they can not do it for free it may be a cheap fix.
There's always Squaretrade offered through eBay I suppose.

[Completed] Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 No network

Okay so I broke my screen 6-7 months ago. My father's friend repaired it, worked fine until 2 months ago. It just stopped, when I tried to turn it back it just showed me the "Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9500" white letters, then disappears, comes again , after 2 sec disappears until battery runs out. I put it on charger , shows the green battery like charging , same thing , disappears appears. Btw I'm from Macedonia, so in my town no 1 could fix it. I gave it to my fathers friend (the one that repaired my screen). He probably lied us after holding it for a month, saying that he hasn't got the tool for the phone, some tool to heat something in the phone enough. So we went to our capital , but not on service where he said, but another one (again fathers friend). The guy repaired the phone , to work , but you can't call. You have the (\) thing on the phone , where the network is. He told my dad that it's something with a chip. Something that they people where I bought the phone should repair. So it only left to repair the network thing. My father goes there and gives the serial number , just like the guy said. The 15-digit number. They say that there has to be a chip thing , on the back under the battery, where is one white thing on the phone that has the "GT-I9500" , serial number. I don't have that one , it is removed by the guy who repaired the screen... 6 months ago when he gave us the phone repaired he gave us another piece, but gt-i9505 (only the screen without components on the back, and it had the white thing stick to it but not mine , but from the i9505. So now if you can help me? This is funny, I wrote so much but I hope you can help me and read it. They said It has some chip there Idk, but I told them the 15-digit code from the warranty list. You can also find it there , on the back, but I don't have it. So should I ask the guy that repaired my screen, what he did, or take it to Samsung? Would that cost me much, or I can repair it at home with applications on pc or something, as far as I've seen. I would be really thankful if someone reads this, and helps me,
Kind Regards,
Chris

What if Samsung charges me for repairing? Is it time to buy another device?

Hello, few months ago, Samsung replaced the entire screen for me free of charge because they thought that the lack of responsiveness and random garbage (barcode like images) on screen were caused by a faulty screen. Few days after I took it back, I had the same problem. I reported to them but as I was in another country, I could not get it repaired. Then, I got other issues such as device rebooting by itself when I pressed the camera app, rebooting continuously like crazy whenever the device is running out of power, etc. I dropped the device (screen facing down) once recently. There was a dent at the corner but the screen remained intact. I don't know if Samsung would say that all the problems are caused by the dropping. I have bought the device over a year ago. What if they charge me? Is it worth to pay to have it repaired? It has happened many times that when I needed to take photos, the device failed by rebooting itself. It also happened once that after a full recharge, the battery went out of power in the middle of the day even I did not use the device much. I don't know if these problems will happen again after repairing.
I need a device that has: large screen, stylus writing, cellular phone function. The iPad PRO has no cellular function and Samsung does not make a new version of Note PRO 12.2. What suggestion do you have?
Did you rule out the battery connection (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3142081) by having it resoldered?
If the device is already out of warranty and you're sitting there contemplating value of repair by Samsung you may as well consider having a reputable repair shop resolder the connection.
Besides, isn't it a bit premature to assess value of repair without costs being known?

I was too afraid to have it opened. Anyway, Samsung said that they need to replace several components (including something called ipu?) and it would cost about US$450. Perhaps just get it back, resolider it by myself and root the device. Then, use it at home while getting another device as my main tablet/phone.

Note 5 touchscreen stopped working

Hey! i am new to the website right... but i have a problem my Note 5 touchscreen stopped working and the pen only works i have never dropped the phone or anything like that i am extra careful with my phone but i am sad.. this happened as i was charging my phone with the wireless pad when i went to sleep ( which was like 5 hours ago) i woke up to check my messages and it stopped on me i don't know what to do i had this problem once and i just resetted the phone and it worked fine but this time i don't know what it can be
i have tried factory resetting it and contacting samsung support i do have warranty but it just upsetting
i have the Samsung Note 5 under T-mobile and it is unlocked
I have the same type problem but reversed. Touchscreen works with finger but not with pen, it doesn't even recognize my pen at all...
Call t-mobile and do an exchange, about all you can do when it's hardware related. I did an exchange on my Note 5 a couple weeks ago because fast charging stopped working, the phone constantly thought it was hooked up to a pc and lower right third of the screen took numerous attempts to register a touch, yet pen always worked.
The bad thing is 2 of my sons have Samsung's, a Note 5 and an S6 edge+ that had the same charging issues... doesn't instil a lot of trust that our replacement devices will last considering they were all purchased the same time and failed within weeks of each other.

Freezing/Rebooting S7 G930F

Hi all,
Have had a Galaxy S7 thrown at me with the prospect of maybe getting it working. It was bought last year, and after being sent off for this issue (and them turning round and saying that because the battery has been changed ?!?! (no it hasn't!). I am not the original owner, nor is the now owner of the phone. Interestingly, the battery in the phone has no serial number or model number, and the place it is meant to be has a white card sticker on it in it's place.
It has an interesting issue whereby it will boot and run, but lock up / auto-reboot once loaded. This might take 30 seconds to days. Once this has happened a few times, it will just sit at the Samsung logo (and appear to lock up at the Samsung logo, half through an animation) - whilst like this, it can also lock up to the point it will NOT reboot when holding power/vol down. Recovery also does not work in this case - it freezes on the "Applying System Update" screen. It then takes a reflash through Odin to get it working again. It will get extremely hot whilst locked up.
I have tried two new firmwares, one from O2 and one (BTU?) generic one, both Android 7.
Any suggestions? I am thinking the flash memory may be faulty - if it was a computer I would run a memory test, but not quite sure how on an Android device!
Edit: Looking at the battery with a fresh set of eyes, the serial number and date of manufacture are actually printed at the top, not in the space where I would expect it (where the white card is). It looks as if it is an authentic original battery to me! No idea why Samsung were being picky.
Sent off to Samsung, returned with a refusal to repair under warranty as apparently the software has been updated to a third party one at some point or been rooted... no Samsung, it hasn't.
Any ideas?
