Hey! i am new to the website right... but i have a problem my Note 5 touchscreen stopped working and the pen only works i have never dropped the phone or anything like that i am extra careful with my phone but i am sad.. this happened as i was charging my phone with the wireless pad when i went to sleep ( which was like 5 hours ago) i woke up to check my messages and it stopped on me i don't know what to do i had this problem once and i just resetted the phone and it worked fine but this time i don't know what it can be
i have tried factory resetting it and contacting samsung support i do have warranty but it just upsetting
i have the Samsung Note 5 under T-mobile and it is unlocked
I have the same type problem but reversed. Touchscreen works with finger but not with pen, it doesn't even recognize my pen at all...
Call t-mobile and do an exchange, about all you can do when it's hardware related. I did an exchange on my Note 5 a couple weeks ago because fast charging stopped working, the phone constantly thought it was hooked up to a pc and lower right third of the screen took numerous attempts to register a touch, yet pen always worked.
The bad thing is 2 of my sons have Samsung's, a Note 5 and an S6 edge+ that had the same charging issues... doesn't instil a lot of trust that our replacement devices will last considering they were all purchased the same time and failed within weeks of each other.

hello,
i've got a samsung galaxy note 3 N9005 and have a serious problem. i use my phone with the original cover and the original s view wireless cover.
in february i noticed that when opening my wireless cover the screen wouldnt turn on. serveral days later the problem was so bad that when i got screen on after 5 minutes and maybe the possibility to answer a call the screen wouldnt turn on after the call. screen remained black. i had to pull the battery out of the phone and then restart it. in one after noon of work i had to do this everytime i wanted to make or receive a call and up to 15 times. although the screen is not turned on it uses a huge amount of the battery.
i send my phone for repair. first time they repaired a part of it. what part i dont know and they did a software update. after 2 weeks the problems came back. i resend it to the repeair center. and when they received it the screen didnt turn on. they couldnt repair the phone because it wouldnt turn so they did a software update and send it back because they couldnt notice the fault.
then after 2 weeks the problem came back and i searched the internet and found a way to test the proximity sensor because i thougt that was the problem. i checked it by using the code *#0*# and then click sensor. and indeed there was a problem. when i covered the sensor with my finger the screen went green and keep trilling meaning that something covered the sensor. but when removing my finger from the sensor the screen kept trilling and stayed green. so i knew i had a problem with my sensor.
i send it a third time with the info to check the sensor (it came so far that i had to tell the repair service what to do). the device came back, a part was repaired and a software update. but now the day after the problem came back and even worse.
i'm now using a backup device and when i charge my note 3 a whole night and the day after it's just in standby mode. at the end of the day around 7-8 PM the battery is at 3-4%.
i mailed and called samsung but they want me to send it for a fourth time to a different repair service for a second opinion and then they will decide what to do next.
are there other people who experience the same problems?
i'm a huge samsung fan because i got the samsung galaxy camera, note 3, gear but i'm getting very angry with them.

Your motherboard needs a replacement. Lazy technicians are just wiping and reflashing software. Shoot samsung a mail in your region and tell them the amount you invested to buy a fone has gone to crap. Be firm and explain them the things in detail. By now a layman should know your proximity sensor is kaput (common problem with samsung devices., had the same issue with my sii, s4 )
Mate, the rule of warranty, at least in Oz, is 3 times and it is REPLACED.... No more repairs, you get a new item...
As this has been sent back 3 times I'd stipulate this, it needs replacement, not fixing otherwise you get consumer affaira, or relevant agency, in on the action.......

The "blackout" problem you are experiencing could be caused by some apps that you have installed on your phone. Perhaps you can try to remove your SD Card (if any) and do a factory reset to see whether the issue persists. I have a friend who works in a samsung service centre, and he informed me that usually the technician will first do a software reset/reflash/upgrade and they will do a check to see whether the issue reported persist. If not, nothing else will be done.

Good luck with Samsung. I haven'd had anything from them that even remotely qualifies as good service. Sad.....but unfortunately true. Australia is especially crap when it comes to service.
This was an apparent issue on s7 based on Google search.
I am getting this error message on a s8+ that has never seen water. It's been like this for about a week.
Kinda strange for a phone touted as waterproof.
Correct me if wrong but samsung warranty is voided on water damage?
Anyway to reset this?
Anyone with thoughts?
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
I don't think it implies you have water damage. The warning is to prevent you from trying to charge if the port is wet after being exposed to water. You may just have a faulty port.
My first s7 did this and eventually would not charge anymore , and had to get a replacement
Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
It will wireless charge still.
Normally shows up fire a bit after the phone gets wet. Once it does it will go away.
I've gotten my phone wet all works great.
If you truly haven't gotten the phone wet or take it back because it might have an issue.
If the phone has nevee been wet then there is a problem.
Now if you live In the area where the humidity is high.
The that can trigger it also.
OMG the same thing is happening to my phone I've only had it for about 30 to 40 days-and like yours never seen water and it's giving me that moisture warning it has to be something wrong with these phones they need to give us our money back or replace them
Same thing just popped up on mine. I've had this phone for a week. Granted it's a really humid and rainy day here but this phone hasn't seen a drop of moisture.

Try giving the connector/port a wipe with some isopropyl/rubbing alcohol. This should clear the error.
so I have had this issue for about 2 weeks. the first time....it wouldn't charge. so I waited 3 hours and it still wouldn't charge. I turned my phone off and turned it back on and it worked fine. couple of days later it did the same thing....and then again. then yesterday....it restarted my phone at least 10 times and it was still saying moisture detected. MY PHONE HAS NEVER GOTTEN WET!! I googled and ever since the last mandatory update....alot of ppl are having this issue. so today....again...I can't charge my phone. i called tmobile and they are replacing my phone. i checked the little card inside the SIM card slot and it does NOT show water damage so it is a SYSTEM ISSUE!!! come on samsung!!! first the NOTE 7 issue....now this?! so tomorrow I'm getting a brand new phone being sent to the store and lets see what happens with this cause now I can only use my wireless charger which takes HOURS to fully charge my phone!!!!
Samsung has a hard rule, no repairs for water damage ever. I had to jump through hoops to get a brand new note fixed even after they agreed to fix it, the repair facility tried to not do it, more time in the phone with customer service. Samsung will go out of their way to deny warranty work and make you tell every higher person in the customer service chain your entire story over and over again. Terrible customer service unless you have a lot of patience and a lot of time to sit on hold.

I've had issue with this as well but it's disappeared for the last few weeks not sure why......
Is there any chance that sand could cause the moisture alert? I had the same issue for an entire day, the phone did not get wet, but I live in a very sandy area and figured a grain of sand had triggered the alert. Just curious..
All you need ti do to fix this is plug in the cable then quickly restart phone without taking the charger out and when it comes back on seeconds later its fine
I've also had this problem for the past couple of days. Have had the alert before (phone has never been wet, but I used to live in a humid environment and mostly happened when my finger had been sitting over the connector). Then yesterday it stopped charging - very convenient not having a working phone while moving house and starting a new job /s.
I don't think hacks like rebooting while plugged in are an OK solution; I've never been unable to charge any phone during regular use before!
Reading around the net, Samsung has obviously pushed an update that has either increased the sensitivity of the cut-off, or just has a bug. Perhaps in response to issues with wet phones shorting and causing damage, and want to push warranty claims as user error or damage.
I've had an S3, S4, S6 and now S8; between this and Bixby hijacking my phone and constantly pushing updates to itself my next handset might be a Pixel.

This worked for me. Thanks! Going to call T-Mo tomorrow though to get it replaced.
I'm having this issue with my Note 8 that is less than 2 months in use, Samsung is collecting it for repair on Friday and it will 7 to 10 days, phone have Not been exposed to moisture and won't work in the DeX station either, there is clearly a problem with charging ports on several different Samsung devices, fingers crossed it will come back fixed up OK with no more hassle

Could be an app causing it or multiple other things as mine just suddenly stopped doing it after an update a long while back.
Another thing was I have it a good rinse and then let it dry my phone on a stand so any water would move down and out.
I've been down all avenues including deleting apps and booting into safe mode that disables 3rd party apps, couple of factory resets and few hard resets from recovery and also have a problem with phone not detecting my brand new DeX, this digs deeper than I want to deal with now so Samsung can fix it since I did nothing wrong, I look after my phones really well, this is my first note to have a problem so I'll give Samsung the chance to put it right without me having a husdyr fit
So it started with a galaxy S8, I started getting the warning that moisture was detected in the charging port. I took it to a local shop, and when I went back, the guy showed me a picture of a burnt component on the charging board.... BUT said that everything seemed fine when tethered to his computer so he didn't replace it!! Rather than have him do it, I ordered the part and replaced it my self ( have no experience but am good at fixing most anything). The replacement went fine and it now charges, despite still getting warning msg. I have a note 8 on the same account with US Cell. And last night I had them swap numbers between the phones due to data usage needs.... I start my note 8 this morning and plug it in to charge.... and I get the warning msg about moisture in charging port on the note 8 now, but not on the S8!!!!!?????? How is this possible??? And no, the note 8 wasn't exposed to moisture recently....

That sounds fishy, almost as if they are trying to make you choose to get a new device instead of dealing with issues on the current device.

That was my bad, I discovered later, but should have suspected, that the Morphie batt/case on my note 8 can cause the same issues...
Ugh, just had my S21+ crap out on me yesterday. Was going about my day, received a notification on my watch of a text message, so pulled the phone out of my pocket and the screen would not come on. Pure black. Nothing would bring it back. Hard rebooted the device, and still nothing. Felt it vibrate, and the device is still "functioning" as it received incoming calls, but the screen just died.
Thankfully AT&T is sending out a Warranty replacement today or tomorrow, and even more fortunately I have a cheap spare Blackview device to use for a couple days.
I've heard sporadic reports of this but mainly on the S21 Ultra, not the Plus. Just curious if anyone else has heard reports of this?
Same thing happened to me yesterday, my phone screen went fully black So, i searched a lot on youtube and after lots of videos i found this one really helpful, there are so many steps in this video i would recommend you to go through every step and do it for many times repeatedly,Fortunately last step did the trick for me Hope it works for you
I've had the same issue about 3 weeks ago with my S21+. Tried everything but couldn't get any pixel lit on the screen.
Did a backup through HDMI, send it to warranty and they replaced it for free.

Same. Got my warranty replacement as well. Hoping this issue doesn't crop up again, especially after I'm out of warranty!
Hi,
I have the same problem with my Galaxy S21 Ultra last weekend. It's still under warranty but I rooted my phone. The technician told me that rooting apparently change the voltage settings that caused the problem overtime. Not really sure if rooting will cause this issue. So sad the warranty of my phone was void and need to pay A$500 for screen and motherboard replacement.
I rooted all my phones from Galaxy S2 to S20 with no screen problem.
Mine is on service center rn for dead screen the 2nd f time. The first time just gor screen replaced around 3 mo ago. S21+ exynos

Either you had extremly bad luck or you drop the phone or did something else. I have a friend of mine that had serveral diffrent Samsung phones and never have the screen problem. Also another friend that own the Samsung S21 plus has never have problem.
One day last week when i pulled my S Pen out, nothing happened.
I tried to write on the screen, nothing happened. I thought it ran out of battery, but it's always inside my phone, and battery is only used for air actions, as touch input is made magnetically.
The pen was always inside my phone, and yet it randomly prompted me "Got your S Pen? It's not inside your phone"
Then it started working again but partially, it detects when i pull it out of the phone and put it back in, but touch input is horrible and it doesn't connect wirelessly
This is weird, do any of you ever experencied something like this on S22 Ultra ?
I have never experienced something like this, only thing related happened with my note 7, the spen lagged when writing, in that case it was the spen, I bought another one and that solved the issue, with my note 10+, agter 2 years, it suddenly stopped working for air actions, but again, it was the s pen's fault, as it no longer charged, I sugest you to take your device to be checked under warranty claim
I haven't experienced it either. I suspect the pen is at fault.
Experienced that, because I dropped my phone so much times, that it wasn't operating correctly. Repaired it with warranty and bought new S Pen sadly...
