Micro SD card write protected - Facebook prime suspect - General Questions and Answers

My phone is rooted. I am using Lenovo A7000 phone with AOSP 6.0 by Risma Ermaya.
I have formatted my SD card as internal storage using the default feature of marshmallow.
Few months back, I started facing the issue of Facebook and Messenger updates. Whenever I used to update my facebook or messenger from the playstore, these apps stopped opening and used to crash. But after I used to restart my phone, these applications ran fine. A week ago, I installed instgram for the first time in this phone. Similar thing happened with it too. After installation from Google Play store, it did not open. However, after restarting the phone, everything went well.*
Yesterday, I was updating facebook, I got the error 403. I cleared up data of my playstore app after forced stopping it, removed all my google accounts from the phone, and rebooted the device. After rebooting, the error was still showing up in the playstore. Feeling frustrated, I forced stopped Google Play services framework application, cleared it data and rebooted my phone. But, the problem was still there.
I have got into deeper trouble now. My microSD card has become write protected. I did not remove my SD card at all since months. It is of sandisk brand and has class 10.*
I cannot take screenshots. I cannot download any file from chrome browser. I cannot download images sent to me by my friends through whatsapp.*
I cannot even copy one file in its folder to another folder in the memory card. I have tried using the default file explorer and Solid Explorer application. I have just 587 MB remaining in my phone. However, I can access any file I want to. My videos and music are playing just fine.*
I am also able to delete any files within the file explorer, so that I can make a nandroid backup of my files in TWRP. Even TWRP does not allow me to delete my music and videos within the SD card. What should I do to fix this trouble? I do not want to format my SD card as it has lot of important data. Even if I connect my phone to my PC and try to copy the files, the process hangs after few seconds and Windows explorer hangs which is displaying the content in my SD card. I am running windows 8.1.
I have also tried unmounting and remounting my sd card using the in built feature of Marshmallow, but this trick still doesn't solve my trouble.*
I have also tried clearing cache and dalvic from TWRP but still no progress. I feel that facebook is the culprit because while clearing cache in TWRP, it gives the error that it could not clear cache from com.facebook.katana folder.

[Q] After moving the .android_secure folder, the phone became crazy!

Hello, I had the Unknown reason -18 error from Android Market. I read that one possible fix was to delete the .android_secure folder. I did that but I backed it up to my laptop.
After that I realised that this removed all my apps from my SD so I moved the backup to the sd back in order to restore all apps. But then the problem started. Now I'm supposed to have all the files exactly same as before but, for some reason my phone get stucked when I have to enter the PIN. It does not respond at anything, I thought It was checking the SD files again but it has passed about 30 minutes and still the same. Tried to reboot ( i have to remove battery because the switch off button does not respond) and everytime I'm getting stucked when the SD card seems to be checking files.... What can I do to restore my phone like before? I know one fix is to completely delete .android_secure folder but I would have to reinstall all my sd apps, (thats about 90 apps!!) and probably I'd lost all app's data...
Than you for your help,
Cheers!
(My mobile device is a Nexus One)
Ok, I did a Windows Scandisk over my SD card and it fixed some problems, after that, the mobile did started and all my apps were recovered... What's more after removing the smdl2tmp1.asec file from .android_security folder solved the -18 problem issue.
Everything it's good now =)

[Q] Apps Disappearing When Moved To Phone Storage

So, I recently flashed a new ROM and started to experience this problem
As I was syncing my apps back from Titanium, I rebooted my phone and I noticed that every app that was originally saved to phone storage seemed to have disappeared.
A closer look into Manage Applications showed all those apps in a "com..." format. I even took an app that was saved to the SD card that worked and moved it to phone storage. After a reboot, the app had also disappeared and changed to the above format. I even tried to uninstall these apps and reinstall via the market and when i rebooted again, the app was gone and back to the above format.
I've even tried to do a complete clean reinstallation of the ROM using the cleanest stock method possible and it worked to no avail.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
Seems like a bad flash. Try flashing clean again. Try installing a couple of apps from market, and reboot and see if they are still there.

I used this in order to cleanly install the ROM twice with same problem. I uninstalled some of the apps in the "com" format and installed them from the market and when i rebooted the apps were gone, back into the same format as before

Should I allow my PC to scan and fix my internal SD card?

A few days ago I entered phone hell. At the time, the phone was on the last stock upgrade from AT&T, wasn't even rooted and didn't have a custom recovery. Short story is that it soft bricked out of nowhere for no apparent reason. I finally gave up on fixing it, installed TWRP recovery, did a Nandroid backup, wiped everything twice and reinstalled stock through Odin. Fortunately the Nandroid backup recovered my data and my apps, so I was able to selectively restore through Titanium.
Now that even though both the internal and external SD cards are more than 50% empty, I can't do anything like update apps or sync gmail because of insufficient storage. When I connect it to my PC, Windows Explorer recommends that I scan and fix the card. I suspect that whatever Windows is seeing caused my brick and the lack of space issues.
Is it okay to let Windows do the scan and fix?
Long story short? No...
Enable hidden files and folders in explorer and find the directory that is eating up the space.
Either that or USB connect it, copy everything over, disconnect and wipe from phone (settings > storage > erase) and then reconnect and copy everything back

[SOLVED] Link2SD - Lost my apps - How do I restore ?

SOLVED - I just reinstalled all the APK, automatically linking them on the SD card. The data was still on the EXT4 partition, so everything was found by the apps.
--------------
Hi,
Link2SD was working really nice, until randomly, I kept getting errors saying it cannot links the apps...
So I've fulled backed up my EXT4 partition on my computer (Just drag and dropped the folders. Not sure if this was correct), powered off the phone, reformetted the EXT4 partition with GParted, copied the files back in with Linux, put the SD card back in the phone, power it ON;
But now, Link2SD does not detect the apps that I've copied back on the card - although it can link the apps again.
The apps that were restored simply doesn't appear anywhere (But are on the partition).
Is there any way I can restore the full EXT4 backup I've took ?

Your solution didn't work for me because it just gave an error whenever I tried to reinstall one of the previously linked apps. Likely because of the excess files leftover from the original because it would let me install new apps but not the missing ones. I tried to delete some files manually for an app or two, but that didn't work either. I found an easy solution though that works.
SOLUTION:
Just open Link2SD. Click the top left corner for the menu. Then click on "Clean up the 2nd partition". When I did it said it needed to delete 104 unused files, so I said ok. Afterwards, actually all but 2(out of 32) of my apps were restored with data automatically and those two I just restored from Titanium Backup.
NOTE FOR ANYONE TRYING THIS:
If it's still not working after that, then just try to reboot and see if they reappear. If you do lose some apps, at least you can reinstall or restore them from a backup after that. Again I only lost 2, but the other 30 missing linked apps were restored.

Music not found after i formatted internal storage

I had problems with installing apps from play store. So i backed up my internal storage on my pc and totally wiped my phone including internal storage.
After i flashed my rom (darkobas) and gapps i copied everything back to my internal storage and restored apps with titanium backup. Everything working so far.
But the music player cannot find any music on my phone. In ES Explorer i can see my files in sdcard/music and sdcard/mp3 and start them. But if i open (any) music player i always get the error "no music found"
Edit:
Gallery has the same problem with finding my pictures.
Edit 2:
It get's even wierder. i just took a picture and if i open gallery it's shown as the only picture. But in ES Explorer it's in the same folder as all the other pics.
maybe run "fix permissions" in TWRP?
copy everything in another folder and back to the original one.
