What explorer app do you use?

ES File Explorer
You need root to remove/rename that file though, but you can see it without root

thank for your help
p/s: How long do you use your s7?

I have the same trouble with this. I found the shutter.ogg but how can i turn off it. I try to rename or delete it but impossible.
Are there other way to turn off shutter sound without root?

I use 'app volume control' which allows volume adjustment for individual app without root. This feature can also be found in Samsung's sound assistance. However, I haven't tried on the latter.

In some countries there is a law prohibiting the muting of shutter sounds. Most CSCs play it through the system sound channel but some use a special immutable channel. I assume Korea has that law so you'll need to either root or flash a different region's firmware.

It's so close to working. The problem is that I can't get the camera to make a sound (ironically) that Soundassistant will pick up. Soundassistant won't let me choose the volume of an app unless it's actively making a sound. Any ideas?

Then Soundassistant picks up the media player and asks to change the volume for it. The sound would need to come from the camera app.

Burst shots should play the shutter_multiple.ogg for longer than one shot would play
Just keep the shutter button held down for as long as you need

Unfortunately, this doesn't work either. While the shutter button is held down, I can't interact with the overlay to adjust the volume. Even if I could, when the shutter noise is going off for burst shots, Soundassistant doesn't pick up on it.
Appreciate the suggestions.

Maybe yet another security feature from Samsung, like trying to take screenshots in certain apps is disabled
Starting to sound like rooting might be your only option
With the G930F just turning the system volume slider down kills the camera shutter sound so I just leave that turned off 24/7

[MOD] MetalGearSolid Sounds

What can i say I love Metal Gear Solid. Saw the iphone sounds.. (no comment)
If you know the game you'll recognize the sounds
I have the alert or ! sound as the low battery sound
The codecopen as the unlock sound
The codecover as the lock sound
and the codeccall as my notification sound.
(simply put on sdcard in /media/audio/notifications/ )
Simple enough to install...
Code:
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/media/audio/ui/[COLOR="Red"]file_to_replace.ogg[/COLOR]
then
Code:
adb push [COLOR="Red"]/location/of/new/file.ogg[/COLOR] /system/media/audio/ui/
or you can just use your favorite file manager with root access.
Replace
Lock.ogg
Unlock.ogg
LowBattery.ogg
Codeccall.ogg goes on the SDcard
enjoy!
Thanks, really good sounds...

Yes, some do have a hissing sound, but it is clear enough for the phone.

[AUDIO] How To Correct Samsungs terrible hardware EQ settings

Hi,
As with the SGS Samsung has crippled the audio quality for playback by setting really bad EQ settings. However, this can be corrected by changing them in servicemode app, but this has to be done on every boot since they are resetted.
thanx go to Supercurio for the SGS version of this.
So here is the howto:
Code:
go to ServiceMode by entering [SIZE=2]*#*#197328640#*#* like a telephone number.[/SIZE] or through SGS Tools
select
[5]Audio
[2]Headset
[1]TX value
[3]Tx Filter
there you find
[1]Filter 1: {some value}
to
[7]Filter 7: {some value}
change each of them to 0 by selecting then press menu key and choose key input.
you should end up with
[1]Filter 1: 0x0
[2]Filter 2: 0x0
[3]Filter 3: 0x0
[4]Filter 4: 0x0
[5]Filter 5: 0x0
[6]Filter 6: 0x0
[7]Filter 7: 0x0

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
now play some music over your headphones and enjoy best undestorted audio quality...
this is just a temporary solution because of resetted values on reboot, but for now i think it is a starting point for others to develop this further...
just found out that unlike the SGS on sg3 this settings survive a reboot, so it has too be done only once...
edit: to raise the overall volume a bit i entered 2da8 in all filters!!

Despite the fact that button phones became a thing of the past and touch screens perform almost any functions, in some cases buttons are much handier. For example, when you need to take an instant or secret photo. In case of a touch screen, you have to take several steps: unlock the phone, turn on the camera and press “take a picture” icon.
The Photo Button app enables you to take pictures without unlocking the phone. Just double-press any volume button and you have a photo!
The program has the option of switching from landscape to portrait mode, turning off sound and vibration when taking a picture. Additionally, the app gives notifications about new snaps.
To make the app power saving, activation and deactivation functions were added. The functions were complemented with a little widget for easier use.
Currently the application works on most models of mobile phones. But unfortunately, there are some phone models which don’t support the app, for example, some LG and Motorola models.
Install from Google Play
How to use it?
1. Install and start app.
2. When phone is locked (screen off) quickly press two times volume button (+ or -)
***New version***
Improved performance (especially one camera phones)
Flash settings
The focus mode (off auto shooting speed increases!)

Notification about new photos added, you can click on it once to view a picture
Widget to control the activation of the camera added. Helps to quickly turn on / off applications to conserve power.

This is great, I've been trying to do this with Tasker for like a year haha. To make this perfect for me, it would have an option to take a quick picture when holding down power and volume up buttons (just like taking a screen shot except with vol up instead of vol down) Would gladly pay for the pro version for that feature.

You could manually edit build prop, but I couldn't direct you to what line exactly.
Thanks for all the advise! I was hoping it was a OP6 problem because all my sounds are very loud.
I have the same problem with the notification sounds. After the 5.1.6 update they don't seem to be affected by any of the volume controls.
My op6 is not loud. How make you louder?
for me 5.1.7 did not fix it...
All of the sounds are very loud because on 5.1.5 everyone was complaining that the sounds were too low. So OnePlus pushed up the volume. You can go on to the OnePlus Community forums if you want to read all the complaints about how low the sound was
The problem was people complaining it was too low. For me personally, the audio was just fine. never missed a call or any notification at all, anyway...everybody had to complain. So now ONEPLUS boosted up the levels to a point you can hear your phone ringing across the building in minimum level.
Funny thing is: I have to use an app to decrease screen brightness to lower levels than minimum at night, and i have to use another app/kernel to decrease the sound to minimum levels too. lol. I love this phone with all my heart, but i hate having to hack 2 basic settings

Anybody found a way to mute the Camera Shutter sound on Android 11 (One UI 3.0)?

This is pissing me off in every way. I take pictures of nature, or other things that are easily scared if disturbed by such a loud stupid shutter sound. On Android 10, I could use the app "Silent Mode Pro", but it no longer works on Android 11, and it is driving me nuts, I absolutely hate this noise and am considering to ****ing ditch Samsung once and for all, I don't care about the law, this is ruining my already stained interested in taking pictures at all. If anyone knows about a way, I'd massively appreciate it if you can post it here.
Of course I am talking about the Default Camera App here. I currently use "Camera FV-5" as a really good and awesome replacement which is also able to practically use all hardware features, but not 100% of them. So I'd like this solved.
why don't you just turn off the sound output completely on the pull down settings? It works for me.

Are you on Android 11 (One UI 3.0)? I have tried putting the Phone into "Do Not Disturb"
and turned off sound completely, the shutter sound is still present.
I've just tested this. For me, with 916B / BTU on Android 11/OneUI 3.0, using the stock photo app, definitely no shutter sound when sound is muted via quick panel.

Yep not for me, nothing helps as a matter of fact, not "Do not Disturb", "Silent" or even "Night Mode" which also mutes some extra sounds. F916N.

I could be way off, but I think this might be a CSC customisation. I seem to recall that having a shutter sound is a legal requirement in some countries.

Hello there,
i don't know if it will work for you but try downloading SetEdit (Settings Database Editor) on play store.
Open it and find "csc_pref_camera_forced_shuttersound_key" "1". then change the value to "0", For my case it works. i tried it on my samsung galaxy s20+ japanese version and it work, even tho the application said it only works for older model.
Oh and dont forget to use bixby routines and make routines so if you open the camera the system sound automatically turn off so you dont have to turn it off manually.

Honestly though, I am not sure if sharing this too much like this is a good idea cuz eventially, Samsung might patch it. I'm in the predicament of asking you to remove your post, but at the same time, it helped me fix this so it might help others too.

Mate, I'd be more worried about Google patching it out as it gives access to so many other "hidden" options...
Isn't it possible from a terminal (root) :
Bash:
mount -o rw,remount /
cd /system/product/media/audio/ui
mkdir orig
mv VideoRecord.ogg orig/ && touch VideoRecord.ogg
mv VideoStop.ogg orig/ && touch VideoStop.ogg
mv camera_click.ogg orig/ && touch camera_click.ogg
mv camera_focus.ogg orig/ && touch camera_focus.ogg
sync
mount -o ro,remount /
?
As I am not sure which file does what sound I keep them in the orig folder, just in case...
You don't have to download any app or root the phone. Create a bixby routine: If app started: Camera, then: Do not disturb: on

Some phone model have forced shutter sound, so even if you turn on Do not disturb it will still make a sound.
It's an old issue of the camera shutter noise and also annoying . I'm surprised till today has not much solutions on the Android 11 & 12. I have rooted galaxy Note 9 & 10+. Both are running Android 9 & 12. I have tried to rename/replaced a "silence.ogg" to overwrite the "camera_click.ogg" and "shutter.ogg" and failed. My best guess is there are some more hidden .ogg file to overwrite whenever the camera sound files are tampered.
I Google around and no true solution to disable camera shutter sound alone permanently. Most of them will silent the other features on the phone which, affect the daily usage.
