[MOD] MetalGearSolid Sounds - Nexus One Themes and Apps

What can i say I love Metal Gear Solid. Saw the iphone sounds.. (no comment)
If you know the game you'll recognize the sounds
I have the alert or ! sound as the low battery sound
The codecopen as the unlock sound
The codecover as the lock sound
and the codeccall as my notification sound.
(simply put on sdcard in /media/audio/notifications/ )
Simple enough to install...
Code:
adb remount
adb shell rm /system/media/audio/ui/[COLOR="Red"]file_to_replace.ogg[/COLOR]
then
Code:
adb push [COLOR="Red"]/location/of/new/file.ogg[/COLOR] /system/media/audio/ui/
or you can just use your favorite file manager with root access.
Replace
Lock.ogg
Unlock.ogg
LowBattery.ogg
Codeccall.ogg goes on the SDcard
enjoy!

Thanks, really good sounds...

It could be re-sampled at a lower volume. Should be pretty simple with audacity.

I just edited them to a lower volume if anyone wants them.

You just copied the sound file from MGS PC (demo) or from some other forum and added a few pics and fonts. But thanks anyways.
They sound okay but I can hear a hiss in the background on each sound clip.

Could anyone tell me the name of a file manager with root access I don't have access to my pc at this time. I've tried Linda and astro and neither could write.

Estrongs File Explorer.
(you have to go into settings to enable root access... and choose the hiapk method, not cyan)
Make sure you have busybox installed, or you will get errors

I didnt mean that their mine and copyrighted, come on. I meant I have them in my collection. So many people here ready to start something over nothing. Enjoy anyway, finding all the sounds is hard and thought I would share and save people the trouble of trying to find every sound.
Yes, some do have a hissing sound, but it is clear enough for the phone.

HTC Topaz - Wallpaper Changer

I've built this application: Wallpaper Changer v1.0
As the name says it changes the wallpaper manually or automatically, taking everytime a random jpg file from the local "My Pictures" folder of PPC.
Now I'd really like to have some feedback from those that are interested in order to develop it further.
So please leave me a message here if you want to have it.
Thanks
Would be interested in giving it a try if you upload it
Also just wondering but can you specify the frequency the wallpaper changes and also is there an option to set the order of the change?
Hi there.
You were very fast... thank you for your interest. Sure, you can set the change frequency. I don't understand what you mean by the order... but this order is random in this version.
Because I am new in this forum, please let me see how I can upload files here... or if you know how to do this...
Thanks.
Ok then...
So here it is... Wallpaper Changer v1.0
I upload it here and leave it open to everybody...
Any feedback is much appreciated.
Thank you.
Was there any need?
kevin2u Diamond Background Changer from Diamond 1 still works fine.
Appear to be great!
Nice app! Congrats man! Thanks for the tool!
But it's giving an error when I try to enter in "Change Now".
The details of the error:Wallpaperchanger.exe - DividedByZeroExcepection.
It would be great if I could use it!
Thanks a lot!
hmmm... its a great idea and seems it will be a great application, but it needs a little more work.
I have a HTC Touch Dual and its not working on mine...
How about:
- Not being only for HTC's? All ppc's can have a wallpaper image, right?
- Allowing the user to choose where to get the wallpapers from?
- Allowing the user to customize the time (X minutes/hours).
BTW, if you edit the first post this is the best way to share the app:

Actually this is the only version that worked on my wm6.5 so far...
It only has a few quircks, the folder selection is very limited and the app has to be open for it to change the walllpaper...
Thank you very much for your interest in my application. This error of yours is most probable because you don;t have any jpg files in the local "My Pictures" folder. I recommend to copy some there. Anyway I will consider this case and will fix it in the next release. I will also do so that the user has the chance to choose its own folder from which WPChanger to pick up images. Thanks... so be tune ... maybe for this weekend.
Hi there and thank you for your interest. Your error is most probable because you don't have any jpg files in your local "My Pictures" folder... but i will take care of this in the next release and will do so that you can set your own folder with pictures where the WPChanger picks the images from.

You need to set folders on your SD starting with Media, create another in that called audio, then another 4 in that called, Alarms, Ringtones, Notifications and the last one Music. Any files you put in notifications will now show when you go to select them.

The easiest way is to download them to the computer and transfer them to the folder on the SD card with Windows Explorer.
but astro has got the "cut and paste" function too...

[AUDIO] How To Correct Samsungs terrible hardware EQ settings

Hi,
As with the SGS Samsung has crippled the audio quality for playback by setting really bad EQ settings. However, this can be corrected by changing them in servicemode app, but this has to be done on every boot since they are resetted.
thanx go to Supercurio for the SGS version of this.
So here is the howto:
Code:
go to ServiceMode by entering [SIZE=2]*#*#197328640#*#* like a telephone number.[/SIZE] or through SGS Tools
select
[5]Audio
[2]Headset
[1]TX value
[3]Tx Filter
there you find
[1]Filter 1: {some value}
to
[7]Filter 7: {some value}
change each of them to 0 by selecting then press menu key and choose key input.
you should end up with
[1]Filter 1: 0x0
[2]Filter 2: 0x0
[3]Filter 3: 0x0
[4]Filter 4: 0x0
[5]Filter 5: 0x0
[6]Filter 6: 0x0
[7]Filter 7: 0x0
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
now play some music over your headphones and enjoy best undestorted audio quality...
this is just a temporary solution because of resetted values on reboot, but for now i think it is a starting point for others to develop this further...
just found out that unlike the SGS on sg3 this settings survive a reboot, so it has too be done only once...
edit: to raise the overall volume a bit i entered 2da8 in all filters!!

[APP] Lock Sound Changer

hay there guys im a newbie here on the forums and at android development but i have competed the public beta of my second app in one day
lock sound changer does exactly what it says on the tin it lets you change your lock sounds on any rooted android device 2.2 and up.
t.co/RrzB0XL is a shortened link to it on the market hope someone finds this useful oo also its free have fun guys and read the instructions below
copy locked.ogg and unlocked.ogg to /sdcard/locksoundchanger
any size ogg will work but it has to be ogg.
its a good idea to backup the default stock android lock and unlock sound first to before changing anything.
if your sure you have everything in the right place hit "change lock sounds" and then test it out.
lock sounds have to be enabled to check this goto
Settings > Sound > Check Lock Screen Sounds
thanks!

Well done Beanfarmer... We need to work out why it doesn't want to run on my ZTE Blade now.... I'm tempted to go back-back to CM7 and try it again...
If not, we'll work it out in work on monday
Chunks
yeah chunk it could be that the default blade rom mounts /system differently, is it asking for root? is it force closing? the lock sounds might even be in a different place... but yeah ill have a look on monday
nice app will try and find some good sounds
Works great, but sometimes the sounds get cut short.
Sound FX!!!
What a killer idea. I found these sound effects months ago and have just had them stashed away in my "goodies" folder with the idea that eventually I would get around to trying them out. With this app, it looks like I finally can try them out with little to no effort! I have searched and searched and I cannot for the life of me find the thread where I got these to give the OP credit. Please, if someone comes across the thread with these files, quote this post and toss their name up to give them props.
This zip contains 8 cool and unique lock/unlock sounds. Again, these are not mine, just something I procured from this great community. If somebody wants to hit thanks for me posting these, fine, just please don't credit me as having created these. I'm just simply sharing something that was shared with me!!!
Thanks again for this great app.
***IDEA FOR YOUR NEXT APP... what about an app (or maybe an expansion of this one) to also change the "select" sound. My evo clicks. I've really wanted to find the sound that sounds more like a short, flat tone. Don't know how to describe it. I think it's the nexus. Just a thought!!
