I recently did a factory reset on my S5. After doing so the ph dialer app has been crashing randomly when akin or receiving calls. The really irritant thing is that the only way to stop the notification from showing is restart the phone.
A Samsung employee recently told me to delete the old acct. I tried this and it helped a bit. The other strange thing is that one of my old apps started crashing. Clearing the apps crash has partially solved the issue. By the problemis is in resolved. Next step is try and clear phone cache and then do factory reset.

I have had the transformer for about 2 weeks with no problems installing any apps.
However I was unsuccessful yesterday and googled about clearing cache, but it didn't work so I had to factory reset.
Today, I'm getting the installation unsuccessful messages again. Is this happening to anyone else? I'm starting to get annoyed I have to factory reset to fix this problem.

This happened to me also, I did several factory resets, clearing cache, etc... nothing. Also, keep an eye on the GTalk app, if you can't enter the market, then it's possible that GTalk can't logon. However, the browser and other stuff should work.
What I did is created a temporary second Gmail account, then on the TF, go to settings and remove your account, then add the new temporary account. Again, clear the Market cache again and Google Framework cache.
Try to go market and login on GTalk, if you still can't, no problem, the same thing happened to me.
After that, I did another factory reset, during the initial setup, I used my original GMail account again. Everything started to work as it should, Market and GTalk.
The problem lies within the Google account, like something got stuck or another thing that I don't know. It was frustrating at first...
Occasionally google does maintenance and this seems to affect certain accounts more than others. If you suddenly just get this error then you're better off being patient and try again at a later time/date. Sometimes it's only a few minutes, other times it's hours. It's also worth trying to bypass the app entirely and try using a desktop browser to install.
i've tried using my desktop to install apps, but it fails as well.
i'll try giving it tomorrow to see if it clears up, if not i'll just have to factory wipe again.
When calling anyone(in contact or dialing an unknown number), the dialer doesn't work for the first time. when I redial the same number again, it works. I tried clearing cache and Dalvik cache thru TWRP. I still have same issue.
Is anyone facing this issue? any solution?

I had the exact same problem for a while. I tried with another SIM card and it was still happening. And then, suddenly, it went away. I looked online and didn't find much. On the Idol 3 subreddit, nobody else had this issue.
Sorry, I wish I had a solution.
I just tried clearing the app data and restarted my phone. The issue is resolved now.

I had the same problem, even with other dialers. Clearing the default Call app's data and rebooting worked for me, too.
i am also facing exact the same problem! hope someone/alcatel will fixed it ! its super annoying
Mmmm. Just tried clearing the app data and reboot. Looks fine so far! Hope the issue doesn't come back again.
I'm using stock Android 5.0.1 on my G3 on AT&T (D850).
Recently my phone has been really buggy. I was randomly using the web browser and then my phone started freezing up, and then wouldn't load up apps. It restarted itself and when it did half my contacts had no names.
No browser was working so I factory reset the phone but then my problems continued:
-all web browsers will still randomly crash when browsing
- apps will get a "Unfortunately, X has stopped" error. Most common is Google Play Services (which I've uninstalled updates and cache several times) but other apps like Messaging or even Settings can fail
- some apps just won't open over time. They'll work fine but then force close, and then any subsequent attempt to open it will force close it immediately
I still have a month on my warranty but would rather not send my phone in. Do you think that rooting my phone and installing a new ROM would fix these issues? If so which rooting method would you suggest and any suggestions on ROMs would be appreciated

Did you perform a factory reset? Try that first.

I did two factory resets. Nothing changed
If you are on 21r, I think it is something with the update. My phone went crazy the first go even after factory reset. I reverted back to KK, installed all updates again, and haven't had much issue. Occasionally, something glitches but not a show stopper. I'm thinking the update to patch stagefright is buggy.

Hi
In the last month my S6 restarts or freezes randomly.
I tried clearing the system cache through recovery and some apps cache.
removed all unnecessary apps and reset configuration to the very basic.
It happens randomly and there is days where it would work perfectly.
when it does begin with the restarting and freezing loop, I notice that it gets hot, not extremely hot but noticeably.
(when its getting stuck its not that the phone is hot, but after it gets into these restart loops it does get hot)
Besides factory reset I've done everything, I am trying to avoid the factory reset since I can't re-activate WhatsApp after the factory reset since I am in a different country than where my sim card is registered, and don't have SMS/CALL access.
Is there any way to diagnose whats going on? log files? apps to diagnose problems?
any tips for me before I send it in to the lab?
Thanks

T-Mobile S6 running XtreStoLitr 3.3.1. I'm currently dealing with the aforementioned error whenever I open the stock dialer. I've cleared the app data and cache for both Contacts and the Dialer, which alleviates the issue briefly. I initially thought it had something to do with root, so I disabled Greenify, PowerNap, Naptime, and Amplify to no avail. I went into safe mode and cleared the app/data cache--when I first got the issue, simply going into safe mode and clearing the data fixed the issue until the day before, where it popped up again--and that served to be a momentary solution.
I've wiped data, restored the firmware, downgraded to 3.3, deleted my contacts from my phone--and from my Google account apparently, but that's a different story--but nothing seems to have addressed this issue. I'm currently doing another full wipe/restore. The last time I went through this process, I redownloaded all of my apps manually rather than using SmartSwitch, and it didn't help much long term.
And since I figure that this issue will likely happen again once I restore my data, is there a way to determine what the cause is? I assume that it's one of my apps at this point that's constantly causing the issue.
