Dialer Issues after update - Onetouch Idol 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When calling anyone(in contact or dialing an unknown number), the dialer doesn't work for the first time. when I redial the same number again, it works. I tried clearing cache and Dalvik cache thru TWRP. I still have same issue.
Is anyone facing this issue? any solution?

TWRP recovery & ROOTED

I had the exact same problem for a while. I tried with another SIM card and it was still happening. And then, suddenly, it went away. I looked online and didn't find much. On the Idol 3 subreddit, nobody else had this issue.
Sorry, I wish I had a solution.

I just tried clearing the app data and restarted my phone. The issue is resolved now.

Mmmm. Just tried clearing the app data and reboot. Looks fine so far! Hope the issue doesn't come back again.

[Q] Anyone having problem with installing apps from the market?

I have had the transformer for about 2 weeks with no problems installing any apps.
However I was unsuccessful yesterday and googled about clearing cache, but it didn't work so I had to factory reset.
Today, I'm getting the installation unsuccessful messages again. Is this happening to anyone else? I'm starting to get annoyed I have to factory reset to fix this problem.

This happened to me also, I did several factory resets, clearing cache, etc... nothing. Also, keep an eye on the GTalk app, if you can't enter the market, then it's possible that GTalk can't logon. However, the browser and other stuff should work.
What I did is created a temporary second Gmail account, then on the TF, go to settings and remove your account, then add the new temporary account. Again, clear the Market cache again and Google Framework cache.
Try to go market and login on GTalk, if you still can't, no problem, the same thing happened to me.
After that, I did another factory reset, during the initial setup, I used my original GMail account again. Everything started to work as it should, Market and GTalk.
The problem lies within the Google account, like something got stuck or another thing that I don't know. It was frustrating at first...
Occasionally google does maintenance and this seems to affect certain accounts more than others. If you suddenly just get this error then you're better off being patient and try again at a later time/date. Sometimes it's only a few minutes, other times it's hours. It's also worth trying to bypass the app entirely and try using a desktop browser to install.
i've tried using my desktop to install apps, but it fails as well.
i'll try giving it tomorrow to see if it clears up, if not i'll just have to factory wipe again.

Try hard reset
I have this problem too, and i am not in situation to do hard reset. Is there anyone who resolved this problem in another way than hard reset?
Got exactly the same problem. Just updated today to ICS by OTA(Sensation XE) and now i can't open the conversations anymore. It just showing "Loading" the whole time.
Someone meanwhile with an idea how to solve this problem?
Try clearing the cache and data of the messaging app. Idk if it'll fix it but it's worth a shot
+1 on all the suggestions. It was a major update, so a hard reset could solve it.
Nothing worked and hard reset was no option for me. So i installed Go SMS Plus now and everything works fine. All SMS are there, nothing lost. I got the feeling that with to many SMS (got around 9000) the Application becomes overstrained. While i tried to delete all messages for reimporting them it stocked at around 4000 and at this point the messaging App was working fine.

[Q] Google Play force closes only with my wifi...

Hi,
I've been searching everywhere for a solution for my problem without finding anything. I tried many, many things to try to fix it but nothing worked.
My problem is: I can't open the play store, it automatically force closes. After trying to clean the cache, flashing a new rom, fixing permission and many others advices from different forums, nothing worked! I was going crazy. But then I went to my friend's place and connected to her wifi and everything was fine. I could access to the store with any problem. I bought a tablet and it does exactly the same thing!
I talked with a friend that studies computer stuff and he told me that could be because of some denied ports or something like that with my modem.
Does anybody know if that could be possible or has something else that I could try?
Thank you
hi
i had the same issue on other phones and i fixed it by doing the following
settings/apps/all/google services framework/force stop/clear data/clear cache/
then
settings/apps/all/google play store/clear data/clear cache
then reboot

I tried that many times and I just tried it again, nothing different. I really think my problem is with my modem/router.
Thank you
Did you blocked some ports or connections in your router? Because I also think that your router is blocking the port which the play store needs to connect.
You could actually try to make a factory reset on your router. Might solve the problem, but you have to reconfigure everything afterwards.

I tried a factory reset but still does exactly the same thing. I don't exactly know how to unblock the ports, I tried something but it didn't work. I don't know which one to unblock.
Thanks a lot

Note 4 (N910F) Mic doesn't work for any voice chat app i.e. Whatsapp, FB messenger

Hello Community!
I really need some help. So the thing is I recently bought a used samsung note 4 and while everything seems and works flawlessly (The phone hasnt been used all that much) the mic doesnt seem to work when I use it for anything other than network calls, that is, no voice recording using the built in app, no calls or voice messages over any of the voice chat apps such as Whatsapp,Fb messenger or Line. I dont think its a hardware issue because the mic works as it should when I make network calls. The problem arises when I use other apps that need mic. Is there any solution to this? I really like the phone but this thing is deal breaker. Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Regards
Have you tried resetting the device or wiping the dalvik/cache ?
Is the original ROM installed on your device?

When I bought the phone it was reset to factory settings by myself and just a day ago I updated the firmware to marshmallow manually as the phone was originally running lollipop. I havent wiped the dalvik cache, can you please guide me how to. Also I must add the said problem existed even before the update. I was hoping the update would fix it.
Factory resetting should automatically clear the dalvik chache but you can do it manually too in the recovery mode of your phone.
Hello,
Clean the charging port and speakers using a needle.

yeah man I reset dalvik cache manually but no change still the problem persists.
It is probably a hardware issue then, since your device has multiple microphones. One is used for sound recording while calling and the other one for all the other sound recording
(See the Device Layout: https://www.androidheadlines.com/2014/09/samsung-galaxy-note-4-manual-online-now.html)

[EDIT] Phone completely buggy even after full reset (back to locked stock)

Hi everyone,
I noticed that yesterday and today face recognition was not working and was wondering why. I assumed the cam could be dirty so I opened the camera and switched to front cam, the app crashes immediately.
After several tries I restarted the phone and the result is the same...
Not sure if it's a software or hardware problem, can anyone help me debug?
Ok this is getting worse
I updated from Beta 18 to Beta 19 hoping it would fix the issue. After the update even the back cam wouldn't work...
So I assumed there was a software issue. I factory reset my phone and it still doesn't work...
Any ideas please/ I am desperate...

If it is getting worse with beta log an event with it send it to oneplus. And maybe try a older beta again or a different firmware all together. Would probably be your best bet. Just weird your having the issue and so far no one else has chimed in on it
So apparently I now have this issue:
https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/camera-not-working.771655/#post-20390562
The storage is encrypted despite the factory reset . I will try to factory reset again once I get home (travelling right now)
Not sure how to fix this issue...
I tried wiping Cache, Data and System and doing a full reinstall but I still have the same bugs that seem to come from encrypted storage... Not sure how to solve this, should I wipe storage?
I did the "Format Data" in TWRP which is supposed to format everything and remove encryption and I still have the same bugs:
-Both cam not working
-SMS not working
-Amazon not working
-Youtube not working
etc
I completely erased the phone, used MSM tool to recover it and it still has the same bugs... What's crazy is that I know it's an access issue because one time everything started working again... Until I rebooted and it stopped
I used this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/universal-dm-verity-forceencrypt-t3817389) to keep the phone uncrypted and I am still seeing the same bugs, I have no idea what to do next...
Very same scenario with mine! Any solution? I also did what u did brother.
i can confirm the same behavior as of three days ago here. downgrading to android 9 (oxygen os still) fixes the rear camera but not the front. youtube starts to behave again. this is a HUGE issue, as my phone is 90% of the time just a youtube client. oneplus support is useless and just keeps going in circles saying to reset the phone. resets and cache clears do not fix this issue.
i've got three other oneplus 7 pros in the house that don't have this issue on beta 19, but they're all the t-mobile version flashed to international. unsure if that's relevant.
